Galaxy E7 SM-E7000 sucks big time - Galaxy E5, E7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a Samsung Galaxy E7 (SM-E7000) for about month and a half, and all I have are problems like sudden restarting and freezeing. I tried to root phone and adjust CPU min and max speed, factory reset phone, install old firmware because latest firmware obviously sucks and what not, but nothing helps. And what is even worse there is no custom ROM or regular update to Lollipop stock rom. One thing I noticed is that sudden restarting and freezeing stops or happens in smaller ammounts is when you don't install 3-party applications, but why would I want phone like that. This is worst phone I ever had!
Did somebody else have such a bad experience with Galaxy E7 SM-E7000 and how you solve this problem? I would appreciate if you could share your solution or knowledge with me and rest of members.

I never experienced such problems with my E700H. I think Your phone has some Hardware related issues. If it comes under warranty you should definitely contact nearest service center. I am Using it with Lollipop 5.1.1 update. I have 30+ third party Applications installed in my phone..So far i haven't experienced any issues. It is new phone. It will take some time for developers to develop custom Roms. So you should wait.

It's a great device. It doesn't have any issues. I have been using for 2 moths. I am a heavy user.? you should contact service centre.

the E series don't have any problems as you say, your phone has a hardware issue, try contacting samsung service center.

I bought it on ebay from some guy on Taiwan. I am in Croatia, do you think local samsung center will cover warranty.

I don't think so, they can fix it but not under warranty.

I have two SM-Galaxy-E7, an E7000 and an E700H, about 10 months. both of them are great. I don't experience any problem you mentioned above.
Recently (about 2 week), The E7000 has a problem and it is weak mobile network antenna in some places. In some places E700H is full but E7000 has no network or weak network!
any solution?

Hi, I also have same problem on my SM E7000. Very weak network even just showing emergency call only. Anybody help please!

made in korea vs made in vietnam

Been doing some research and it seems like the vietnam versions are having more issues than the korea versions....there was one psrticular post where i saw someone sent there vietnam version phone for replacement and they sent back korean version and all problems were fixed...is this a broad issue? I have the n900 made in vietnam and im experiencing frequent over heating and occasional lockups....
Is it worth it/possibke to get it replaced for a 9005? I was dissapointed to see that its not a true octa after recieving the phone....and develpment for exynos is dead if it ever lived...but im still being optimistic waiting for updates both from devs and oem. Dont want to waste my time just to enevitbly trade the phone in.
How can i see where the phone was made?

usually on box...look around the stickers....
my box came in mostly spanish with secondary english and was made in vietnam lol....

My first note 3 was from vietnams,after opening box found power switch was inside side panel,to use power switch i need to use my nails,even screen was flickering,force close of apps,very next return phone to shop,received replacement unit after 3 days but this time made in korea,I m very happy with this unit,no lags at all.:laugh:
Mine was made in China. Experienced no manufacturing defects.

As far as I have heard that only small labor work is done in countries like china Vietnam but major work is done in korea alone. All my previous galaxy phones were 100% korean made never had any issue. This one is from china. Fortunately no issues so far.

I have Vietnam version of note 3 and im not having any issue whatsoever !!!!! ridiculous post .. my note 3 is flying working so fast and smooth

i dont understand whats ridiculous? i am not the only claiming this problem...and although i havent replaced the phone yet there have been many claims that the made in vietnam version of the phone is a night and day difference of phones manufactured in other places...obviously these people osned both phones.
Mine was made in Vietnam. It works perfectly.
Don't try to read to much into this.
People expect their phone to work properly and don't post to say "Hey my new phone works the way it's supposed to"
They will only post for something that doesn't work correctly.
I have a Note 3 that appears to have been made or assembled in Vietnam. I desperately need a replacement because it is malfunctioning terribly. I still have several months left on the one-year warranty. Can someone tell me how I can get a replacement from Vietnam? The website is entirely in Vietnamese and no other Samsung center will help. I've tried US, Australia and our own local center (Trinidad and Tobago), and even Amazon and the seller I bought it from. I'm now thinking of trying the UK. So far no one wants to help me and I am now at a loss. I just want to know HOW to communicate with the Vietnam manufacturers to get a replacement. I'm desperate.

Most issues of force-close are due to rom or bad updates (which usually happens through ota). Best way to update is through sammobile & odin.
We don't know the whole picture of how others are having issues. --- to give you an example... someone asked me to help fix their Korean assembled phone, I found out they had dropped it in water (duh!!).
Many issues are due to how people take care of their phones. Who knows if half of these issues aren't just stupid people related lol (had to say it). Don't keep phone in glove compartments - don't keep in high-humidity areas - don't use it in the rain - list goes on.

That's what I thought. But the shop doesn't want to help me. They simply reply with: "Our warranty is only 30 days, your warranty is a manufacturer warranty, so contact them directly for a replacement." They point-blank refuse to help me.
Ok, so it's a 2nd hand phone (not one you got with a phone company and 1-2yr contract).
Then the only thing you can do is contact any official samsung repair shop in your area to send it in. Be aware though, you will probably have to pay for any major repairs.
The standard 1yr warranty only covers defects of manufacturing construction. If it's because of something else (or you have used a custom rom), then they may refuse to fix or you have to pay for it yourself.

Warranty declined - GPS issues - Authorized dealers?

Hey everyone. Like a lot of people out there, I flocked to the LG G2 when it was released. Instead of waiting for Bell, Telus or Rogers to stock the phone I decided to get ahead of the pack and buy it from an online retailer.
I picked up the phone from a Canadian website called ncix.com . They stocked the international version (D802). I ordered it for $629.99 .
First impressions were good. Its fast, lasts long, and looks beautiful.
Ive been having issues though. It started when the 4.4 update was released. I started having crazy GPS issues. I used to use my GPS all the time in order to find shops around Edmonton.
Now, after the update, I can no longer use navigation or GPS related apps. I can see that this is a widespread issue. Everyone, to one extent or another, experiences this issue on the LG G2.
I tried everything stock related to try and fix it. Tried thick paper under the GPS contacts, tried pulling them up, no use. Tried using status apps to download agps data, still nothing.
So heres the issue: I called LG support about my problem. I told them where I bought it and they tell me it's out of their hands because I didn't buy it from an authorized LG dealer.
My number one question is, if you know your product has an issue, why prevent someone from receiving warranty for a manufacturer issue?
An even bigger question is: why release a phone that you KNOW has an issue?
Does anyone else support my questions?
This is my last LG product now that I know they release unfinished electronics. Also to know that they do not acknowledge that they screwed up and don't support broken products.
Hey, I'm in a similar boat as you, bought second hand and warranty is apparently non transferrable despite being less than a year old.
Anyway, I really do feel this is a software/firmware issue. I posted in one of the other threads but I'll ask you the same....when I use the Munzee (location based game)app and set GPS to always on my GPS notification icon doesn't go grey like it does with google maps and I don't seem to lose signal. I'm just trying to find someone to test my theory because it would confirm (?) that the problem lies in the GPS putting itself to sleep.

Yes gps is suc** in g2 and i am lazy to get the phone to lg dealer because it will take at least 10 days without phone+its rooted and have custom rom and recovery so i need to get back to stock and wipe all data and then take it to them /:

Well, i got a D806, D802 variant, wich is pretty much the same.
So far i didnt step much in stock 4.4 android, i simply updated my D806 to 4.4 to grab cloudyG3 rom and so far no GPS issues. As far as you havent got warranty, have you thought of going into custom ROMS/Kernels?

My advice is it should be your last smartphone or at least last Android smartphone.
What makes you think phones from Sammy, HTC, Sony, ... don't have GPS issue?
Second note: I'm on stock with 4.4.2 and have no issue with GPS.
Third note: are you running the latest firmware? would you do factory reset and see if it gets any better? or you can find a way to reverse back to their original form. Worst case, root, custom recovery and flash some other ROMs and see what happens next.
I bought the phone brand new, not second hand. Also, they told me they would not honor the warranty because ncix is not an authorized dealer, which should be irrelevant knowing that the phone has this preexisting issue.
I'm not interested in rooting or installing custom roms at this time.
I was just trying to help you by display a few options that what you can do. Choose to do it or not, it's your personal choice.

WIFI wont turn on anymore

Hi Guys , I would appreciate if anyone could help.
I have a V20 Taiwan model since November .
The WiFi suddenly does not turn on anymore .
When I click the switch the screen just stays at 'turning WiFi on' and does nothing .
I have reset the phone 2 times and no difference .
Is this a common issue with this phone . I would really appreciate any help.
The phone e has never been modified or rooted .Etc.
Everything is original.

I didn't see any other people report this kinda issue. I guess there's an issue with either the wifi driver (aka radio) or the hardware itself. You should try flashing the ROM again. If that doesn't help, you've had to send it to the service center for hardware failure.
I have the exact same problem... Sending it back for repair.

Reviving an old thread because mine is showing same WiFi problems after seven months. Resetting to factory / flashing default ROMs doesn't solve the problem. Just wanted to know if both of your phone's could be repaired by the LG service centre. What did they say?

Mine was purchased from DWI . Hong Kong . Sent it back and was told that it could not be repaired. They sent me a new phone .. But here we are again 1 year later and having issues with severe lag and overheating . Not a great phone by any means . I will be Going back to Xiaomi real soon ..
Interesting, I too bought mine on DWI... I sent it back for repair. They said the unit was faulty and a new one is supposedly on the way. I wonder where they get the phones from. Maybe they are refurbished phones?
Thanks to both of you. I bought it online from Amazon India from a seller of repute, at 50% discount. It seems that they were selling refurbished units without proper quality checks. I bought this phone basically for using as a music player and easy photography (without carrying a DSLR) and this was never used as my daily phone. Now it seems that I have to limit the use for camera and music only. Very very dejected. Further the phone was never elevated from Nougat 7.0. God knows when 8.0 will arrive. Never going to buy LG again.

Hello, sorry for my late reply. They actually fixed it and it has been working fine every since. Oreo is running smoothly too! I actually love my LG V20... it has everything I need, including removable batteries (not ready to give that up yet, don't want to carry a powerbank with me or wait 30 minutes for my phone to charge a bit. Swap the battery and ready to go!)

I got it repaired in June,2018, free of cost as the phone was still in warranty. The service personnels were good and they changed the hardware, probably the motherboard within 3 days as the same was not in their stock. Note the same is running well but sadly no Oreo update in India yet. And I doubt Oreo will ever come to India. I will continue to use my phone as Music player and non DSLR camera.
If I flash the original kdz file, the warranty is still valid?
Does the date appear when kdz was written?

im planning to buy the note 4 for the camera and S-pen features.. for 170$ used note 4 910G. . but i got to know about the freezing and rebooting issue of the note 4s. so should i buy it ???
can u tell me which update caused it ?? and which firmware i can download to avoid this issue ?

It's not as simple as that.. Most Note 4 suffered when Android 6 got installed.. Best thing to do is to find out if the device is still in warranty by checking with Samsung and giving them the IMEI & SN of the device. If you can get the motherboard replaced for new under warranty go for it...
Note 4 still a good device 3 years down the line..
O yea. I would. I have a note 3 and it's the best phone I've had so far

If it has the freezing/restart issue you can't fix it with firmware. The problem is usually caused by failing hardware (most likely the motherboard; possibly other hardware as well). My Verizon Note 4 started having these problems sometime after the Marshmallow upgrade. I tried flashing back to Lollipop after the problems started and that did not solve the problem.
I eventually had to send the phone to the Samsung repair center (in Plano, TX) and they replaced a lot of components including the motherboard. The phone works great now, but it did cost me $70 since the phone was out of warranty. So if the used phone you are considering has or develops the freezing/restart problem you will need to spend more money (if it can even be fixed). I'm not sure if Samsung will even try to fix a phone if it has been rooted or tampered with. I've seen new Note 4 phones on Amazon for $300. That would be a better route IMHO.

It isn't clear to me that the update actually caused the problem because flashing back to the previous firmware does not solve the problem. If you search the threads you will also see that others have tried custom roms and the problem was not solved. I suspect that the Marshmallow update and the onset of the freeze/restart problem is just a coincidence (i.e., the phones were on the order of 2 years old when the Marshmallow update was released so the problem was likely just caused by age related hardware failure).
Only Samsung can answer that question for sure. My guess is that if you buy the phone and the freeze/restart problem occurs you will need to send it in to Samsung and have them diagnose and repair the problem whether it is firmware or hardware. Samsung has charged from about $50 to around $180 to fix the problem and in some cases Samsung has said that the phone was not economical to repair. Your mileage may vary.
Go for it. At this price, it's a steal. I recently purchased it for $210. However, it's 910c.
thanks all of one for ur replies.. there was risk in buying used note 4.. so i have bought a used note 3 in good condition coz i have never heard ir read such a hardware problem about note 3.. got it for 140$. but i have to buy a new battery as its draining veryy fasttttttt..

Motherboard problem

Anyone faced any problems with their Note FE? Mine will randomly crash and reboot. On average about 5 times an hour.
I tried to reset thinking it was a software problem or a 3rd party app problem. But even after reset it is the same. Only when I put my device into safe mood, the problem doesn't occur at all.
I sent it to Samsung for a diagnosis and they told me is motherboard problem. But a third party repair shop say they can locate the problematic chip and swap it out without changing the entire motherboard.
Wanna know your thoughts on it?
Is it advisable to go for the cheaper option from 3rd party repair shop?
Had anyone faced this issue and how did you solve the problem?

IMO for your case, it's covered by warranty isn't it? If that so, Samsung service is the right one. Otherwise you have to make sure that the third party repair shop is trustworthy.

It occurred 9 days after the 1 year warranty ended.... Nice
I say go and bug them anyway. If it's within one month after warranty ends you can argue that it's unfair you have to pay for something like this, especially since it's so soon after warranty, it's suspicious, like they planned it. Most times they will honour it.
Resurrecting this thread.... This happened to me just recently. I've had my phone for about 21 months. My FE started freezing then rebooting over the course of 3 days. Tried everything - clear cache partition, factory reset, etc. It happened over and over again. Sent it to Samsung and they said it was a motherboard problem. That there was high current when they tested it and it's causing a ground. I couldn't find any other shop (that I trusted) here where I live to repair it except for the service center. The only option is to replace the motherboard and lcd but it's too costly.... It's practically the price of a new mid range phone. So I just decided to buy a new phone.
I'm kinda relieved to hear that my situation is not a one-off. Maybe we got the lemons of the bunch? Remember, the FE is the refurbished Note 7 that they had to recall cause of battery issues. The guy at the service center told me that the ground in the motherboard could have been caused by draining the battery, overcharging or using power banks. Not sure if that's true though, but I can see a relation to the previous battery issue with the Note 7.

Same motherboard problem after using for almost 2 years. Send to SC & all data is gone. 3rd time on Note motherboard problem, previously Note2 & Note4. It's time to say good to Samsung. Can't afford to lost all the data again.
I just saw this thread and it seams that struggling to find the reason of the crashes through software was to no avail. I started by posting a bug in FloydQ V6.0 ROM here, and after a lot of debugging it seams that I'll join you guys in this thread after years of usage.
I'll be sending it for repair tomorrow. For those who had it fixed by a third party service without motherboard replacement, what was the exact problem in the board? and how much did it cost compared to motherboard replacement?
I'm able to use the device lightly in maximum power saving mode, and the device is more likely to crash and restart when connected to a charger.
