I installed Win 8 on my Samsung 7 and once I did the windows updates, my touch screen stopped working.I tried to install the touch screen driver (http://www.samsung.com/global/windowspreview/data/3_TouchCfgUpdater_ForSeries7.exe.zip), but all I get is and error that says "Error: Please power-cycle and try again" . My pen works fine though.
Can someone please help me with this?

I had the same problem last night, actually, though my pen stopped responding as well. Thank goodness I was able to remote desktop in from another computer. It could have gotten ugly...
Luckily I'd installed Visual Studio 12 earlier in the day, so I had a restore point. That got things working again. I'm thinking the culprit may be the Intel Bluetooth driver optional update, though I really have no idea why this would make a difference.
Might try rolling that back to see if it works?

Additional messing around with things indicates this may not be fully accurate - I also added a couple of features (.NET 3.5 and Hyper V, and upon reboot I've got the same problem... will keep you posted).
Edit 2: Confirmed. Not the bluetooth driver. Going to install Hyper-V now and see if that's the issue.
Edit 3: Hyper V didn't do it. May be something about the 3.5 framework addons.

Edit 5: Installing the BIOS update and touch-pad update from the site above seem to have done wonders.

I'd really like to use SideSync 3 from Samsung with my Note 4, because I work on my computer alot and it would be very handy to operate my phone via comp.
I had it set up on my ex personal PC via USB, but I can't get it to work on my ASUS laptop.
Problem: I install SideSync 3 from http://www.samsung.com/us/sidesync/ and after I start the program nothing happens. It's like it freezes on opening and doesn't start. I was looking in the running processes but can't find any clue that is actualy running nor anything. I tried running as admin, tried system compatibility with win 8, 7, xp, dpi changes, admin rights... nothing works.
Any idea?
I'd be really happy if someone helped me out! =)
Sorry this won't help much. But it's working fine on WiFi. 8.1 Windows. Check you have latest version from Samsung on your note

tried usb debugging, nothing help because app doesn't start on windows. It's like it hangs..
i tried it on another laptop - lenovo.. same problem...
again:
1. i install sidesync 3.0 from samsung webpage
2. i start it
3. nothing happens
4. i try to run as admin
5. nothing
6. restart
7. notthign
8. run the program
9. nothng
i'm loosing my mind really =(

i noticed that you are trying to get SideSync 3 it to work on Win 8.1 (PC /USB .)
However ,i have Acer laptop Win 8 ( have not updated laptop to Win 8.1 ) SideSync 3 works fine. (No freezes or nothing, smooth, no problems at all )
Note 4 / USB connected .
Maybe you can " read " something into why it works on Win 8, since you " tried system compatibility with win 8" ?

I have same problem. I tried on 3 different computers (Win 10, Win 8.1 and Win 7). To my suprise I can't run this app on any computer. It just will not start - at least it seams so. I also tried different compability modes and run it as administrator, but no success (it's same experience as miHah).
This is not a problem of phone (I use S6 Edge) - the phone is recognized when connected by USB (and I can browse/edit content on phone from pc). It just wont work with SideSync. BTW: I tried with SideSync version 3 and 4. Same results - doesnt run.
I have similar problem. I am unable to install samsung sidesync because it freezes my Windows 10 pc while installing samsung usb drivers for mobile devices. I am also unable to uninstall samsung usb drivers. Everytime I forced to reset my pc. Any ideas?

Admin rights requested on startup
At any time when I reboot, as Sidesync is started during boot sequence, when I login in, the Admin rights autorisation opened as I am not admin by default.
Any clue or advice for this ?

Do you guys also have keis 3 installed? I was able to start sidesync. I hadn't had any devices linked yet but I installed keis 3 and now it is doing the same (not even starting). I noticed when I downloaded sidesync from the Samsung website, it notified me I needed to update keis 3 and uninstalled it when I accepted the update. I wonder if it has something to do with both programs being installed or if you also need sidesync source on the computer as well. BTW I'm running acer win 7.

I have stock MIUI 8 developer rom right now.
problem is when I connect to pc, there is nothing shown in mobile, only shown charging..
MTP or camara option not shown in mobile.
I have MI pc suite and also attached my other REDMI 1S (it's connect to pc for my file transfer purpose)
problem is shown from MIUI 7 .. and there for I tried to upgrade to MIUI 8. (using twrp)
but my problem not solved...

Hey guys, sorry I've been out of it for a while w/ moving and whatnot. My phone just came back from service & was upgraded to MM @ the service center... and as you can guess, PC Link disappeared. Here's my workaround for it:
Not sure if this will work for you guys, but it works for my Zenfone 2 w/ MM: ( you might need an asus cover for this to work )
1. Sideload PC Link apk
2. On your pc, uncheck "turn off display during connection" in PC Link settings
3. Kill PC Link in taskbar
4. plug phone in
5. Click "Yes" to popup asking if you want to use your phone for file transfer
6. Start PC Link on your pc
7. Close the Cover flap
8. Verify that your screen is mirrored by dragging around where the circle for your cover should be on the pc. The mirrored circle should move back and forth ( on your phone ) based on your mouse movement. ( The screen will be black on your pc )
9. Open the flap
10. drag the screen around and your phone should pop up on your pc in place of the black space
Like I said, this works for my Zenfone 2 w/ MM.
I have asus zenphone max z010dd, on marshmallow and cant use pc link. When i install old pc link apk from my zenphone 5 thi screen mirroring works fine, but i cant control phone from pc (with mouse and keyboard). I think the reason of problem is, Pclink manager app is not present on marshmallow rom, in system/app/. If you have any solution please post here.

I've recently bought this device and I've updated to the last release 10.3.5 PFGEUXM (see the enclosed image).
No way to play Andorid Auto connected by usb cable to the Redmi Note 7 as I always get the "usb connection error 16".
I've changed the cable ... no way.
Does someone know how to fix this issue and let the Android Auto to work flawlessy with Redmi Note 7?
