PC Link workaround on MM - ZenFone 2 General

Hey guys, sorry I've been out of it for a while w/ moving and whatnot. My phone just came back from service & was upgraded to MM @ the service center... and as you can guess, PC Link disappeared. Here's my workaround for it:
Not sure if this will work for you guys, but it works for my Zenfone 2 w/ MM: ( you might need an asus cover for this to work )
1. Sideload PC Link apk
2. On your pc, uncheck "turn off display during connection" in PC Link settings
3. Kill PC Link in taskbar
4. plug phone in
5. Click "Yes" to popup asking if you want to use your phone for file transfer
6. Start PC Link on your pc
7. Close the Cover flap
8. Verify that your screen is mirrored by dragging around where the circle for your cover should be on the pc. The mirrored circle should move back and forth ( on your phone ) based on your mouse movement. ( The screen will be black on your pc )
9. Open the flap
10. drag the screen around and your phone should pop up on your pc in place of the black space
Like I said, this works for my Zenfone 2 w/ MM.

I have asus zenphone max z010dd, on marshmallow and cant use pc link. When i install old pc link apk from my zenphone 5 thi screen mirroring works fine, but i cant control phone from pc (with mouse and keyboard). I think the reason of problem is, Pclink manager app is not present on marshmallow rom, in system/app/. If you have any solution please post here.

[Q] Driver Problem

OK...so far so well, I put it out of the box, pushed the start button, and saw very pretty and nice pictures, but for the moment thats all! (
how the hell this thinks works?! No pc connectivity, no pc synchro, unable to browse base file system, unable to access sd card files. unable to access phone book(!?!?). After 6 clicks on the display I found where it is. And after 4-5 more I am finding the needed contact. For example on nokia, siemens, htc and samsung, this happens only with 3 clicks.
when I connect it to the pc, it just show me the new device dialog box, and after few clicks: unable to find propriate driver. No change after installing SEUS, and trying file by file from the driver dir of installation files of SEUS. After 45 minutes search with google, nothing apears.
On linux just shows Mass Storage with no media inside.
What the hell am I doing wrong?
firstly try pulling down the top box and selecting mass storage mount

Thanks for the tip
Briefly, when usb cable is connected to the pc, just drag down with a finger on the top left corner of the display, and press "Usb Connected". Then in the box press Mount.
After that on my machine was started an update of microsoft usb components: Microsoft WinUsb 1.0. And after all that the phone is ready to be found properly by the system. Just download SEUS from the sonyericsson support website, and extract the executable with 7zip. and extract ..\$[31]\drivers\SmartphoneDrivers.zip . In this archive are the drivers for X10i.
If you want to find drivers for flash, just put the device in a flash mode (pressing and holding the backarrow - the right key - while the phone is connected to pc), and then extract seehcri.zip from the same folder. There is the driver for the eeprom controler.

USB desktop connection driver issue [solved]

was struggling yesterday to connect mytouch to the desktop on windows XP. The phone connected to the moment, the drive showed up and when immediately disconnected.
I found this very helpful post on androidforums by pdl1 which I think needs to be posted in FAQ:
To connect an Android phone to a Windows PC, usually there are two steps:
1. Uninstall current Android USB drivers
2. Install new correct Android drivers
You accomplish 1 by downloading USBDeview to your PC here is the URL USBDeview - View all installed/connected USB devices on your system
Then unzip it and run USBDeview. Right click on each Android driver and delete it. Or you can remove traces of previous drives by removing all keys in registry using "Edit->Find and type in “vid_0bb4″ (no quotes)".
You accomplish 2 by going here Android 1.6 SDK, Release 1 | Android Developers
and downloading the whole Android SDK (software development kit) onto your PC. Extract it to a folder so you can look inside and find a sub-folder called usb_driver. Either move it somewhere easy or take careful note of it's exact location.
Now go to your Android phone. Open Settings. Touch Applicatons. Touch Development. Tap USB debugging to enable it. Then back out to the home page.
Connect your phone to the PC via the appropriate USB cord. Windows will open its New Hardware Wizard. Check that you will tell Windows where to find the files, and Browse to the location of the usb-driver folder. OK will ungrey and if you click it, the correct drivers will, at last, be loaded.
Almost finished. Now disconnect the phone, and repeat going to Settings>Applications>Development. Tap the debugger again to disable it. Back out to the Home Screen. Now connect your phone to the PC. It will be recognized, but in order to see and manipulate the SD card files, there's one more step. Pull down the little white bar at the top of the Android Phone screen. You will see a Notification "USB connected". Tap it and you will be given an option to Mount the phone. Touch Mount.
Now the any File Manager (Windows Explorer, etc.) will see your phone SD card as a separate drive. You can copy, move delete, whatever.
Quite a process, but once done, all you will have to do is connect the phone to the PC and pull down and Mount it.
Sorry if it was discussed already - I searched but could not find similar thread here

USB Problem

Dear All,
I share my story with my Note 4 about the USB connection error:
So I had some problem with my Note 4, and the service changed the phone to a new one.
After that I tried to copy back my archived files from my Windows PC to the phone.
When I connected the phone to my PC (Windows OS), the Windows installed the drivers, but not connected to the Kies 3 or to the Smart Switch, and I didn't see my phone in the Windows Explorer too... Of course with the charging has not any problem.
Maybe at the service, the expert forgot to setting back the mode of the USB, and its not possible to set from the Android settings.
The Solution:
1. Go to the dialer, and type *#0808#
2. The upper section of the screen select the "AP";
3. The bottom section of the screen select the"MTP + ADB"
4. Press the REBOOT button.
After the rebooting, everything works fine via USB.
Thats all.
If you are knowing this, sorry! I am using Note 4 since 6 mounts ago, but former I never met with this problem...

USB Connection only showing as a CD

Hi Guy's,
I had my Galaxy Note 3 stolen by some dirtbag and looking around for a replacement I decided on the K3. I'm loving it and thanks to Hackerpower's thread have rooted, and flashed it to get rid of all the bloatware etc.
What I am finding though is that when I connect it to my PC it is only showing as a CD with the beijing version of the lenovo manager software showing. I want to be able to transfer files from my PC and vis-versa but no matter what I select I cant access the phone as a storage device like I could with my Galaxy Note 3.
If I select Media Device on the phone I see it as a CD with the above software showing.
If I select USB Storage I get the same.
If I select Camera I get the Phone Storage directory with 2 subfolders DCIM and Camera
I have downloaded the USB drivers from Hackerpower's thread and also tried various other download sites, all act the same. And yes I have selected debug mode but have also tried it with this disabled and same result.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is the ONLY thing marring this great phone for me.
BTW I'm using Limonchello as the ROM.
Cheers
Install "Windows Media player 11" on pc, and you will resolve.
ps. Search on Youtube WMP11 installation

YES toothpick ^_^ )
SO FAR: You have install the Drivers and run the Batch_Tool, your Smart TV Box is in front of you, the Male2Male cable is connected on your pc only, and you have found the AV hole and you are ready to insert the toothpick.
7. Insert the toothpick on AV hole and hold it and plug the already connected on your pc Male2Male cable on the Usb Port that is on the left side of the the AV.
8. You will see that the Batch Tool discovered the connected device.
9. On the : FW Path add your .img and after that HIT Upgrade button.
10. Wait for it to finish the proccess and you have successfully upgraded or unbroke your TV Box :angel::angel::good::good::good::good:
Thank for this solution, but where can i find the latest firmaware MX Q-4k RK3229 (6.0.1)?
I guess I did something stupid...
Hi all,
First of all, I have managed to boot into recovery mode and got that menu screen, where you have the wipe data/factory defaults and wipe cache partition.
My stupid thing: I did both... (both cache and data /factory defaults.
Now, I've followed dnbsoundsgo0d guide, but my device is not being recognized by the tool... I'm currently downloading an MXQ_4k_2017.ZIP file I found for the device, but, I'm wondering if by putting this on an SD card, if I will be able to update it without connecting to a PC.
Any word of wisdom is highly appreciated. Thanks!

Power the box off completely.
Open the tool on computer.
Hold down toothpick button.
While still holding button, connect usb to to both computer and box.
Device recognized.
