moto z force 1650-04 variant android 7 - Moto Z Force Questions & Answers

Hello everyone. o/
So I bought this phone recently, the model number is 1650-04, It's a dual-sim 32GB/3GB variant, I couldn't find anything about it online. When I try software update, it says the device is up to date, while it's on marshmallow. So how can I upgrade this to nougat? Can I just use another version's ROM? say 1650-05?
Thanks in advance.

It is Moto Z but not Z force. You are searching wrong forum.

Moto Z force is exclusive to Verizon and not sold by anyone else under any other variant.

here some screetshots for proof

I bought it from downtown market. what kind of picture? btw i can't see the bootloader status, when I dial the *#*# thing, it just wipes and nothing shows up also holding power+vol down while turned off didn't take me to the recovery mode, i tried it only once tho.
forgot to mention I'm from Iran xD

It is 100% fake. Motorola Z Force is sold only as single sim by Verizon and there is no point to downgrade to 3GB ram for dual sim. What CPU it has got? Try CPU Z app.

If you can not boot to fast-boot like any other Motorola then no.
It looks legit from screenshots but all that can be managed by buildprop modification.
Go to developer settings switch OEM unlock on and USB debugging on.
Type in ADB console: adb reboot bootloader
Phone should reboot to fastboot.
Try to flash dual sim model firmware via fastboot commands( search on XDA).
It could be Chinese version ( announced some time ago to go live in Sept) that would explain dual sim availability.
Can you register it on Motorola website and check warranty? Did you check imei? Try imei.info

ty very much, the adb command worked and it goes into fastboot menu. but i couldn't get the unlock data string, because apparently it doesn't recognize the phone as fastboot. any fastboot command says "waiting for any device"

Check device drivers if fastboot is installed correctly.

What's up Praneeth. Let's hope this happens soon. We need to start bugging Motorola and AT&T about this on public social sites. I've posted on Motorola G+ about it already.
If I were to root using this method, would I be able to receive OTAs?

Probably you can depending on what you have altered in the system, the ota will erase root , chances are someone will have a rooted version if any ota releases

let's hope motorola says something about this.
A question, why us Canadians are allowed to unlock our bootloaders ? Our carriers are normal very bad at allowing any alteration, normally our phones have more bloatware than stock Google apps. The only thing which makes sense to me is the Rogers moto x is the developer edition, seems a last minute decision was made but this is all speculation on my part

No way rogers is as bad as you can get, for that matter any Canadian carrier. They bend us over and give it to us.
look at it this way at least you still have a warranty
I'm almost positive this was a last minute decision or the initial stock sent our way was just a filler and the Rogers branded bloatware infested moto x is on the next shipment from china

In most Asia Country, we didn't have 402 update.

If Bell is going to screw over its customers as always with a locked bootloader the least they can do is be on point with the god damn updates.

Sell it and buy one with unlockable bootloader. All branded phones that rely on updates from providers will only get major updates and support stops almost always way earlier then the support from sony.

You can flash any Xperia device with flashtool.
He just need to download latest flashtool (v.16) and latest firmware (German or UK generic).

I doubt so, 4.4.3 builds should have a different build number, unrelated to 4.4.2. I rather Sony takes their time to make their firmware right instead of rushing out crappy updates to beat the other manufacturers. I feel thats whats been happening to samsung lately. Theres just no consistency in the reliability of their updates anymore.

[Q] Root Motorola Luge

Hey all, I am a noob to rooting and unlocking, but quite tech capable. So treat me with kid gloves.
I have a prepaid USA Verizon Motorola Luge, and I want to use it in Canada on the Telus network. Supposedly the Luge is the same as the RAZR M. From what I read, this phone is quad band and "should" do LTE On the Telus network (I hope, I hope)
I tried a Telus SIM card and get the message "The SIM card is from an unknown source". A bit of reading tells me that I need to delete some verizon specifics files, but I first must root the device.
Here is some device info:
Model: XT907
System Version 184.46.10.XT907.Verizon.en.US
Android 4.4.2
Kernel Version 3.4.43-g562f212
So my questions:
(1) Will this device really work on the telus network? Everyone says Verizon is CDMA, and telus is phasing out CDMA. But then I read Verizon is 4G LTE on 1700/2100 - which is the same a telus - I am very confused.
(2) Can I root this device using the Droid RAZR M instructions/root files? I am using instructions from adroid devices web site ( I am restricted from posting the link)
thanks for the help.
Try Towelroot first, compatible with RAZR M's .10 firmware, so it should also be compatible with yours.

That kernel build date has been patched so Towel Root wont work. As of now, there isn't any other root methods for locked bootloaders. Sorry.
It will not hurt to try towel root though. I agree odds are it is the newest kernel but it's possible they compiled the old kernel on a second date.

You can use it on GSM network (outside US) without root. You'll just get the message "SIM from unknown source", after every boot.

Thanks for the tip. I did as you say, plugged in the SIM, got it registered with Telus, and now it all works fine.
It runs in global mode, so I am not sure how fast the data rate is - I will soon find out.
thanks
I ran speed test and its at least 3X faster than my other phone running - so it looks good. Looks like neither of them is running 4G/LTE, ah well.

This works for the SIM nag: Disable VzwPhoneService.apk using V3.4 Debloater. Additionally, this very nice app can clean things up considerably, but it cannot actually remove anything due to lack of root. Credits & Kudos to Gatesjunior for the debloater - suh-weet!
Next best thing to root I suppose
okay guys, just to let you know, some guys from russian forum 4pda.ru published this saying that they achieved getting permament root on 4.4.2 with locked boot and after they sort out how they've got this, some instructions will be published in next few days.
some more proofs:
screens from locked xt907
as soon as they publish instructions about how to do this, i will post it here, or mb in new topic to make it more noticeable.
upd2: luge rooted too, but some steps are different.
upd2.5: guys doing this said that there is still no way of unlocking boot, they've bricked one device already trying do this
upd3: they "killed" one moto on february 7 and still trying to revive it, only after this they gonna post instructions, because it's not safe to use.

you have to unlock the bootloader first, then install the twrp and root the machine. And now you have to download GAPPS (you can find it on the net) and install it by twrp.
After that you have all google apps on you motorola.
Would i be able to change its rom when an international dual sim version comes out?

TWRP is a custom recovery image that allows you to modify the system in ways not permitted by the stock recovery. Specifically, it allows you to modify the /system partition, which is required to install the Google 'ecosystem'.
In order to use TWRP you need to unlock the bootloader. A locked bootloader will only boot code that has been crypto-signed by Motorola. Unlocking allows it to run unsigned code such as TWRP.
If you want to retain the ability to install OTA system updates, then you can run TWRP without actually flashing it to your phone: https://aubykhan.wordpress.com/2013...t-into-twrp-or-cwm-recovery-without-flashing/
This way, you retain the stock recovery which will allow you to install future OTA updates. But keep in mind that it is very likely OTA updates will overwrite the whole or portions of Google, in which case you will need to re-run TWRP and reinstall the Google package.
I'm interested to know where and how much the OP got this version.

I got the white and champagne trim, with a bamboo back and 64gb
Baught it from the motorola site in china,
3,899 yuan
have you found any international ROM work for China modem 1570? i'm also using this one and want to update ROM.
Yes you can. I already bought XT1570 dualsim and sucsess convert to XT1572 ASIA dualsim
. but only with boot.img, recovery.img, system superchunk1−10.
we should not flash bootloader,gpt,NON-HLOS,fsg.
if you do, your moto will be brick.
and
We could not convert to any single sim rom like XT1575 or XT1572 for euro.
So my XT1570 now have XT1572 dualsim ASIA system with google app and XT1570 modem hybrid.
and now I begin recovery.img change to TWRP and install super su, and full back up. After that I can try any customize!
You can try but your own risk.
Is there any way where i can convert my dual sim xt1572 to single sim ?
I'm not sure by myself. answer is might but might not. it because system is could flashing but could be happen a problem recognizing sim card or anything.
You can try.
but please do not flash bootloader,gpt,NON-HLOS,fsg.
I don't want to see anyone have phone is bricked.
You want single sim, but your phone is dual.
It's mean difference between single and dual as hard not only soft.
but I either want to try cm12.1 or cm13.
it's might be happen problem.
Can i change xt1572 eu singel sim to eu dual sim?

its a trial and error method, no one has tried yet.
You can try by flashing xt1572 dual sim firmware. if it doesn't detect sim you can flash your firmware. Beware skip flashing bootloader.

Hi There.Pre Ordered LG G5 H860N Dual Sim INDIAN Variant on 21st May 2016 will be in my hand tomorrow 30th May 2016.Will post images and screenshots of MODEL,SOFTWARE VERSION and all once i get it....!
This thread is to discuss the stuff [ROOT, XPOSED FRAMEWORK, RECOVERY(TWRP)] for H860N Dual Sim INDIAN Variant...!
As of now there is no root for Dual Sim Variants. So lets hope for the best...:good:
Yes I'm hoping for an easy root for the dual sim variants very soon But since I'm playing safe with my lovely phone, I'm not gonna root it until it will reach 1 year of lifetime. I have the H860N too btw (Hong Kong, but I'm from Philippines).
I think we should have separate section for the H860N and non-N variantd

860N here in India. Just bought one. Root and Xposed info will be highly appreciated.
I face a few issues whilst using the SD card. The camera takes the pictures and the videos, however after it writes onto the SD card, it is not able to play the videos nor it opens the pictures. Anyone else facing the same issues?
My current config: stock everything EXCEPT running St 560 DPI.
CHEERS,

Hi there,
It is not an Indian version. It is HGK/Chinese version but it covers all Europe & Asia/Oceania frequencies. That it is more expensive then H860
BTW The mobile is a really god one.

My phone is from the Middle East, and it says H860, just like the screenshot you posted. However, you are saying that yours is H860N. How come?

Thanks for the reply; but is there a way to know from the device itself whether it's the N variant or not?
Is it possible to use 3G networks on both SIM's? Or one must be GSM only?

Doesn't seem to be the case. It appears in India as H860 according to the phone itself. Not really sure how to tell at this point aside from looking at the box.

The box says H860, and the LG Saudi Arabia website says H860 as well.
Either way, I am getting tired of waiting for a root (or at least good news regarding it)...
