Time to take picture (camera launch speed) - Honor 6X Real Life Review

There! Something just happened! Did you take a picture of it? Rate this thread to express how fast the Honor 6X can go from "zero to picture". A higher rating indicates that launching the camera app and taking a photo is extremely fast such that you never miss an important moment, like when your cat attacks the couch again.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!

No. I held both devices side by side. 6X is evidently better.

i dont know, but honor 5x feels better in hand, may be its just me

It's just you. Also 6X is easier to hold because of the improved curvature behind.

yeah, its just me,
one of the reasons was my friend's phone was easily bent, so i thought it wasnt a best build

Your friend wasn't just careful enough.

Though it's a 5.46 in screen it feels a lot smaller to hold in hand.

It's fast, like a second to launch but lags a bit to load the wide aperture toggle for me

Takes about a second to launch, and maybe one more second to get a picture with proper focus. But it's actually pretty fast, at least faster than phones my other friends. Happy with my Honor 6x.

Very close to honor 5x launching time.

Launch takes a second as laggy in EMUI 5 but takes pictures quickly

Fast.

It lags and take 2 3 second to settle it after that its very quick don't lag at all

Supper snappy. Very useful for sudden moments.

Camera Quality

Does anyone else have doubts about the atrix & utilizing the face unlock feature when available? Our front facing camera is worse than any other I've seen :/
Just a thought, so many while I highly anticipate ICS.

Thanks exactly what I was thinking.
The Front camera on the atrix is HORRIBLE in low light conditions...... so yeah I don't think it will function very well for the people that would be interested in it.

I agree, and swiping the finger on the screen is faster than trying 5 times to unlock the phone with your face. I don't expect the face unlock feature to work very well.
Who here would actually want to sit there and look at your phone to unlock it? Much less in public lol. Plus I'm sure it's not instant and I like being able to get into my phone right away.
Sent from my MB860 using xda premium
Haha I thought it was a pretty cool idea.. then I saw how much better other phones front camera is than ours, you'd have to be in direct light for it to maybe function, even then the quality is very poor.
Sent from my MB860 using xda premium
The front camera is actually not that bad. Take some photo and it comes out ok on the computer.
The problem is the crappy pentile LCD, which causes some 'burning' effect on red/dark areas.
This has been proven to be a gimmick and anyone with a photo of you can actually unlock your phone!
For me fingerprint reader works wonderful!

Low res panoramas

All my panoramas seem to be really low resolution and really poor quality. Is there some setting that will make them better?
I'm pretty sure that they used to be better than this on my gnex!

I always like to look at their endurance ratings... and I'm surprised that the M8 is nearly the same as the Note 3, and higher than the G2. Hopefully it holds up in practice =\
Another review. Again the camera is called into question.

Same here that camera is a huge barrier to its purchase.
I'm very happy with the performance of the old camera, it's the only one getting my kids without Blur. But... I was hoping for a combined pic of he two to at least 8. There is a time when you want to zoom, not often but it happens. Probably will go for it but I don't understand how hey did think there.

As the new one has no OIS that may no longer be the case.

We'll have to wait and see but I am a little concerned about this part too. I have shaky hands which is one of the reasons I loved the camera on the M7. The camera is probably the least important feature for me but when I do want to use it, I need to be able to get good shots the first time which is what the M7 offered me.

It's not ois but shutterspeed that makes the Blur go away in Ok light. Ois is good when using slower shutterspeeds, but the camera is good at keeping those down if it not to dark. I could be wrong, it happens

If you look at the GSMArena review I am not sure that they were all that convinced by what had been put in place supposedly instead of OIS.

I think it is still telephoto, not wide angel, otherwise, there cannot be bokeh effect through a specialized 'portrait mode' ...
