I think it is still telephoto, not wide angel, otherwise, there cannot be bokeh effect through a specialized 'portrait mode' ...
IMHO, OP wants software compatibility to the OP5, so it'd be much easier to maintain.

I know you guys don't see stuff like this often. But this is part of my hobby. LOUD BASS! The bass is doing that to the windshield. Figured i would combine my 2 loves and try this feature of the camcorder out. Enjoy! Or don't.....take a look either way! lol I'm about to upload a vid to photobucket of me striking a lighter at the slowest setting.

You could see it like this:
Instead of having crappy digital zoom you can now have optical zoom
Only downside is the size and you can't really control the zoom levels, unless the scope itself has adjustable zoom levels.

From what I gather, it's yes if you use a third party camera app. The native camera app cannot output a RAW image.
Post your photos taken by your op3/op3t camera (Raw/un-manipulated) just want to know how far will this device can go as well as its capabilities in lowlight shot
1. Long press in empty area of homescreen.
2. Select Wallpaper
3. Select "Shot on Oneplus"
You will know how far will this device can go as well as its capabilities in lowlight shot
