Anybody know if this method still works after performing an update? When I've done this previously on a phone that didn't natively support adopted storage, I'm pretty sure it interfered with updating the firmware. Is this the same for the Honor 8?

I was just about to post a thread asking about adoptable storage and then noticed this in search:
Have any of you tried this with Nougat beta (or regular depending on where you live) yet? How did it go? Could you split the card into a percentage adoptable & a percentage SD regular?
Can it withstand an update if you do this or must you save everything off and start from scratch?
Thanks.

Can this be applied to nougat?! I mean the same steps

I don't see anything that says yes or no, but as soon as Nougat official is here, I'll apply it to mine and find out. I know it is volatile between version updates so no point in applying it yet only to lose the content of my ext SD.
Note: this is what happens with vanilla Nougat 7.1.1 :
Use adoptable storage: If you have Nougat and a microSD card slot, you can turn that external storage into integrated internal storage. Head to Setting > Storage & USB. At the bottom you'll see the SD card details, with the option to format and use as internal storage. You then get to manage and move content to this partition once done.

But of course, emui is a different animal and won't have it in the GUI, but I think Paul's method will work fine.

Thank you, I'll wait for the result

Moving Apps to SD card

Hi,
I just purchased the S4. I read that a samsung recently updated and allowed to move to apps. (funny that it wasn't to begin with...).
For some reason , even though my phone software is up to date, I don't have the "move to SD card" option under my apps settings...no matter which app I try to check and move...I just don't have this button there. Can someone help? Is it not available for sprint S4 yet?
Thanks!
We haven't gotten the update yet, only the international version.

Amazing...and the sprint support guy/woman at facebook tries to explain to me how to do it...
Is there any forecast when will sprint get the update?...
Nope, no date yet.

Have you been able to get any of these apps to successfully move apps+appdata from internal storage to microSD on your Sprint Galaxy S4 (stock ROM)? The only option that worked for me is foldermount

Warning: the OTA will disable memory card!

Just read on the OPX forums that if you take the OTA when you get the phone it will stop you from being able to use the memory card. It's a software issue and OnePlus are looking into it.

Yeah apparently it breaks SD card compatibility.
I heard the same.
It didn't break it for everyone tho.
Alot of people updated and the SDcard is still working.

Before update check out the storage options and see if the sd card is showing there .
Also install couple of apps and try to move them to sd card .
Then try the same after the OTA .
According to me after OTA the sd card is just recognised like OTG ... Shows in File Manager, Play Music also shows songs present in sd card, but then you can't move the apps from system memory to sd-card after update .
Just check it out and let everyone know, that way people can decide whether to do first OTA or wait for the next one . . .
Well, i had the phone for a day without making the ota and the phone was slow, laggy, not nice to use. I did the ota and everything is now so smooth, you better do it. I've got an sd card, and it's working fine, i don't know where these rumors come from
Well it looks like 32GB or below are working, i tried 64 GB i can read and write via ES but i cant transfer installed apps/games as it says not enough storage.
PS: This is before OTA system running stock 2.1.0
I did the ota and everything seems OK.
There was an announcement on OP forums that a fix is coming in the next OTA.

What memory card are you using? My OPX isn't detecting my SD card but then again it didn't before the OTA: I'm using a Kingston class 10. At least they've acknowledged it's an issue

New Update Give Me A Shock

There is a recent update firmware on sammobile for S3 Neo GT-I9301I for Netherlands region. And i am not from Netherlands so i download it and try to flash it through odin. On first attempt it failed without any notification or warning. I tried again and successfully flashed it. When mobile starts and i was looking for changes i saw a strange thing, there was only 1.27 GB used out of 11.47 GB. Yes it was and still it is. And all of you know that it should be around 5.50 GB to 6. GB.
Remember i did a clean installation. I wiped everything out from my mobile, there was no data on internal memory at all.
Guys what is this?
Anyone home?
Can you mirror this firmware in somewhere else? I really want to test.

Sorry i can't. But really i am still shocked. After 20 hours memory usage is just 2.35gb as i have some apps installed on my device now.
what does that means ?
I don't understand what you are saying. Why it should be a big thing? I always had it around that.

It's copied successfully. And still memory usage is 9.02gb.

i am from Pakistan. On first try i was failed to flash. But second time i was succeeded. I did a clean installation. There was nothing on mobile memory.
But i never achieved this before. I don't know about any other mobile because i never use any other s3 neo.

[SOLVED] A2017 4G 64GB has 16GB memory and support 4G?

I have a silly question. I've purchased a A2017 4G 64GB. However I only see 16GB memory in the storage. I thought it is supposed to have 64GB. Am I wrong?
I've installed A2017U B29. Does it support 4G network?
Out of 64 you should see close to 50 available probably on a new device. That's just a rough guess.
I have a lot of apps and only have used 24gb out of 64.

If you say so,ok cool.
Try downloading the version you where before in your A2017,
* Perform a FORMAT DATA
* Flash A2017 zips files
* Reboot back to System and check if that helps.
I haven't run into this case before, so this may or may Not help.

I am confusing between wiping and format. Are you talking about wiping data? I did do that before flashing A2017U.
I don't remember which A2017 version it was but I did upate to the latest version via OTA. Do you think I can get latest zip file? Do I use TWRP or original recovery? Should I format internal sd card before flashing?

It probably didn't work due to the following:
Wrong model, this will only work for the regular Galaxy S8 G950U T-Mobile version, not the S8 Plus.
Wrong software version, you have to be on G950USQS2BQL to be able to update the Oreo Beta file.

Well, I mean these are beta versions, getting bugs & glitches is kind of expected lol As of right now in this version, I've experienced very minimal problems. It runs very smooth, it's one of the best beta versions yet. I do experience some lag after a week or so, but that's expected. If for whatever reason, you run into problems, you want to or need to go back to stock, I do have the ODIN files to flash back to stock, if needed. Just let me know.
Unfortunately, as of right now, there's no method or version to avoid your device from being wiped. You can back up your data with smart switch.
