Moving Apps to SD card - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

Hi,
I just purchased the S4. I read that a samsung recently updated and allowed to move to apps. (funny that it wasn't to begin with...).
For some reason , even though my phone software is up to date, I don't have the "move to SD card" option under my apps settings...no matter which app I try to check and move...I just don't have this button there. Can someone help? Is it not available for sprint S4 yet?
Thanks!

We haven't gotten the update yet, only the international version.

Have you been able to get any of these apps to successfully move apps+appdata from internal storage to microSD on your Sprint Galaxy S4 (stock ROM)? The only option that worked for me is foldermount

AT&T SGH-I467 OTA Update I467UCAMF2

Hey everyone. I just got an OTA update for my Note 8.0 LTE (AT&T). It's a small update (16.3MB). The new firmware build is I467UCAMF2. This is probably just a bugfix update but OTAs are almost always a good thing.
Sent from my Galaxy S4 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Yeah got it this morning... was hoping it would fix the screen from becoming unresponsive. Did not fix it

Update the Software for the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 (i467)
Update summary
The latest software package updates the baseband version to I467UCAMF2, and includes improvements to the initial setup process on the device. The update is available for download over a Wi-Fi network connection.
What to expect after the update
Although there should be no impacts to settings or data, we recommend that you back up your media files to an SD card, a PC, or using a favorite application (from the Play Store), prior to upgrading the software. For information on backing up and restoring your phone using Samsung Kies, click here.
How to update
Customers will receive an alert and be prompted to download the update, or have the option to initiate the update manually. When prompted, you can postpone the update up to 3 times, and 4 hours per occurrence. After the update has been postponed for the maximum allowable time, your device will automatically download and install the update.
Note: Before the update can begin, your tablet must be connected to a Wi-Fi network.
To initiate the update manually, go to Settings .
Scroll to the "System" section, and then tap About device > Software update > Check for updates.
Tap OK.
The device will determine if new software is available, and begin downloading the software update. Once complete, the device will restart.
Please wait until your tablet reboots completely, and then tap Done to finish.
How to verify the update
From the home screen, tap Settings .
NOTE: Alternatively, from the home screen, press the Menu key, and then tap Settings.
From the "more" tab, tap About device. The following information will be displayed:

OK so allow me to translate that into English:
"Because we're A, T and f***ing T, we decided to make Samsung replace Google's normal Android setup app with our own called AT&T Ready2Go. The problem is, again because we're A, T and f***ing T, our app sucks. If you have two-step verification enabled on your Google account, you won't be able to sign into your Google account during setup with AT&T Ready2Go. I guess we underestimated how many people actually have it turned on, so oops! Our bad. Here, it's enabled. Happy now?"
I manually updated a couple of hours ago. After playing around with the Note 8 with the update for about an hour I no longer experience the screen stutter/freeze/pause/etc. issue. I hope this in fact is fixed, but so far so good.

I'm still getting the unresponsive screen issue post-update. I've thought about doing a reset, but haven't actually done it yet.
Would be nice if someone had the OTA zip, as it is possible a root could be made from it if the right images are included.

Nobody cam get the zip file unless they're rooted and root isn't currently possible on the AT&T model.

A little of both. The bootloader is encrypted and locked on the AT&T model, but also, very few of us on XDA actually have one. Let's be real. People around here thumb their noses at tablets with an LTE connection a lot of times. They just have no hipster cred in the Android geek community. The in crowd just buys a WiFi-only tablet and tethers it to their phone. It's the geekier thing to do, even if it's a pain in the @$$. You can talk about why LTE tablets are useful until you're blue in the face but it falls on deaf ears more often than not.
Unfortunately, I'm not very optimistic that we'll ever see root unless there comes a time where the WiFi-only root method works on the AT&T model.

Is it encrypted? I got this tablet 2nd hand and I may never even put service on it. If I can't root it, I'll probably trade it for a wifi version. I know AT&T and Verizon pushed an OTA to the S4's that prevented root. Luckily I was rooted/rom'ed prior to that. My GN8 doesn't have the latest OTA. I'm still hopeful for root and unlock/simunlock so I can grab a pre-paid card for this tab.

If it's not a hassle can you point me to the post that IDed the encryption, or did you verify it?

Sky Go app not working?

Why does the Sky Go app not work on my Note 3 despite it being compatible with non-rooted devices like mine.
Has anyone got an APK for it?
Thanks
Even if you sideload it (which I have), it runs but when you try to stream it reports that the device is unsupported.
Sky are aware of the issue.

Does it have anything to do with mine being the lte version?
My active csc code is BTU but My csc version is showing N9005OXAENB1

I had the same issue. The Sky Go app looks at the contents of the SD card and if it finds any apps that are known to need root, it thinks the device is rooted. My note was 4.3 rooted but now on stock 4.4.2, not rooted (knox 0x0). Sky Go complained of root, had a dig around on the SD and there was left over stuff from Titanium backup there. Deleted and Sky Go is happy.

My handeset is stil Knox 0x0. I believe the Uk firmware flash was successful but the CSC has remained the same and Skygo being region locked is detecting that the handset is from outside the UK?
i did try to flash over the IRE 3 rom as apparently that has a single file csc and then re install the UK BTU rom in the hope that the mutli CSC would change to single CSC. It's so confusing!
is there any options that i do have? Can i change the CSC file any other way?
Thank Rees.

Just look for apk`s with names like FOTA, FW upgrade, FOTAClient in /systems/apps/ and /priv-app/. At least thats how it is on the G900F.

Warning: the OTA will disable memory card!

Just read on the OPX forums that if you take the OTA when you get the phone it will stop you from being able to use the memory card. It's a software issue and OnePlus are looking into it.

Before update check out the storage options and see if the sd card is showing there .
Also install couple of apps and try to move them to sd card .
Then try the same after the OTA .
According to me after OTA the sd card is just recognised like OTG ... Shows in File Manager, Play Music also shows songs present in sd card, but then you can't move the apps from system memory to sd-card after update .
Just check it out and let everyone know, that way people can decide whether to do first OTA or wait for the next one . . .
Well, i had the phone for a day without making the ota and the phone was slow, laggy, not nice to use. I did the ota and everything is now so smooth, you better do it. I've got an sd card, and it's working fine, i don't know where these rumors come from
Well it looks like 32GB or below are working, i tried 64 GB i can read and write via ES but i cant transfer installed apps/games as it says not enough storage.
PS: This is before OTA system running stock 2.1.0
I did the ota and everything seems OK.
There was an announcement on OP forums that a fix is coming in the next OTA.

Any word on Nougat?

Pretty annoying that thing was announced over 7 months ago.
Not from AT&T.. Samsung is releasing it January 17th officially. The best thing we can hope for is for someone to get their hands on the 930U version so we can flash it to our phones.
The Verizon beta for Nougat works great on At&t phones. Give it a try if you'd like.
All the beta guys are getting otas to final now, we'll probably see the 930u nougat files before att drops, but it's speculated after the 17th.

Should be fine. I would try the external sd method first, it should just flash like normal. It's an official update so it doesn't matter what you have now it's gonna wipe everything anyways.

I have successfully flashed via external sd method. I have had no issues or bugs that I have noticed so far. Been running for a few days now. I will say if you flash it make a backup of your internal SD card and all your apps. It does completely wipe your phone. I lost all my stuff on my internal SD because I got excited and didn't think, Its been a while since I have flashed anything manually on any of my phones. Lucky for me I had all my pictures backed up to Google Photos and all my other files were on my external SD card.
