I'm still testing, but the possible observed bigger battery drain could be due to a new doze management that doesn't allow the processor to reach a deep power saving condition as before so to solve the notification problem when the phone is in standby.

Well I hope a fix is coming soon. Not rooting the phone so I'm stuck with this one unfortunately.

On one Polish Android forum, a few users had battery drain and high mobile data usage with it. It might be responsible. I have it disabled and battery drain is lowered for me from B152.
Also, remember that if a newly installed app is added automatically to the protected app list in the battery manager, it is also added to the Doze exemption list (or rather I think it works that way).
Make sure you go to Settings->Applications->Advanced->Ignore optimizations and exclude the apps you want to be stopped by Doze.

guys, one more time: what kind of screen on times are you getting with this firmware? would appreciate any input!
Sent from my Huawei Mate 8 NXT-AL10 using Tapatalk

After almost a couple of days I haven't noticed any significant increase in the battery drain.
Furthermore, the notification problem I had with K9-mail under wifi connection is apparently gone.

With C432B170 I get only 7-8h SOT with 48h battery runtime. Listen to music for only round about 3h over Bluetooth and 85% of the time using lte. Now I'm testing the C10B172 and here it's the same battery life. On C432B152 with B162 Kernel I had 8-9h SOT with the same lte usage but with 8-10h listen to music.

Hi all, I have a problem with my mate8 ... after I installed TWRP next rom (NXT-L29C432B170) can not just write anything in fastboot. I fastboot unlocked but not take any order. I can not do root. I can not do flash custom recovery. I can not flash another rom. I can not change themes. Help me please.

Flash stock file via dload method or via HiSuite

Is there an improvement for camera with that new version ?

Sorry for your problems, but please note that you are posting in the wrong thread: this one is only for who received the NXT-L29C432B170 through OTA, nothing to do about fastboot, TWRP, etc....
You should ask here:

Throw Out Your Z5 Marshmallow SoT Screenshot

Hi all,
Lemme give you some of my information about my Z5 before we throw our SoT screenshot.
I bought it on UK amazon last October and it was international version. I checked it on Xperifirm and it said mine was taiwan version.
I was having battery drain problem and was guessing the problem was because different region might cause battery drain problem due to mobile data support. So I flashed it on US version and wanted to compare the battery life before and after update.
Due to new user policy I am not allowed to post the link to my SoT image, so i might just let you guys throw out screenshots. But for me I got 3h 43m screen on time when the battery is 16%. I unplugged the charge at 10am in the morning and record it at 1 am next day.
So here it is guys. If you updated your Z5 to 6.0 would you mind throwing out your SoT screenshot and give a comment about how you think about the battery performance for marshmallow so far.
Have a nice day!

Can someone help me figure outwhy my phone is constantly awake? looks like I should be getting at least an hour more screen time. Only have a few basic apps- Facebook, messenger, inbox, snapchat. seems like my android os is constantly downloading over WiFi? 53,000+ packets received via android OS - anyone else have this?
Pretty sure Facebook and Snapchat are huge drainers.

I updated recently so haven't had the chance to check battery time yet, but back on 5.x I noticed a huge difference when I uninstalled the Facebook app. I replaced it with just the mobile version since its nearly just as good anyways.
I don't use snapchat, but Facebook is on mine with emails constantly using data. Mostly on WiFi except about an hour a day.
Yesterday was a day for testing and making sure it all work. Wasn't a normal day, but you should be getting a little more. If you have just updated leave it a few days. Could be just setting up.

How in the world do you get such a hi SOT? I barely reach 4 hours here :crying:

Are there any reasons to hold off on taking the latest update?

Just in terms of eventual root, or something. It's not going to make much of a difference, or anything?
I'm on 6.O.1 - G930PVPU1APB5
Update G930PVPU2APD3
Its just that I notice it includes "security improvements," and that after updating, "returning to the previous version will be impossible. "
If your battery life is good right now, I wouldn't take the update. Sprint ****ed up the battery life on the GS7E with the pd3 update. I wish I had never updated my phone. I went from 7 to 8 hrs SOT down to 4 to 5 hrs after the update. It is caused by a GPS bug.

Do I get it right - you just upgraded, have used it some hours and "feel" that the battery is better now?
Is the screen on time better or is the idle better or both?
Which version did you use previously: 570 or 575?
How bad was your battery?
What is your phone usage scenario (what apps and how much do you use AND how much is the phone in idle)?
How long have you used this 291 version?
I really would like to know...
Feel it's better with the latest update usually I get around a day at the most with the previous update with normal use...my opinion it's better with stamina mode

Sadly the stamina mode is not customizable. It' just on or off. You can't change what you want to keep (for example the vibration). Well, f**k.

Stamina doesn't exclude apps optimization. They work together. One is for the hardware, so you lose vibration, screen optimization and so one. The other optimize the usage of the battery from the apps.
But sadly Stamina is not as powerful as it was with Lollipop
Inviato dal mio Z3 Compact con Tapatalk
That's no STAMINA, it's battery saver from L.
It even shows a ****ing permanent notification - JUST LIKE BATTERY SAVER DID.

Hi,
I'm having quite an issue with battery life since I've updated to version 23.5.A.1.291.
I think I know what's causing it though, as I have accepted some prompt that told me that the charging of the battery will be optimized but the battery life will be negatively affected. Does anyone know how I can reverse this setting?? I've searched a lot but can't seem to find it.
Thanks

Hi,
I actually have build 23.5.A.0.575 rooted, if I upgrade will I loose root?
I stil havent seen it in the netherlands
The "new" stamina mode also disables vibration. I usually have only vibration for calls, texts and calendar alarts. If I have stamina mode on the the phone is completly silent without vibration. Makes the feature totally useless for me.

I know, but this information from you came out before this guys asked honor on twitter, maybe they changed their minds?
I've contacted Honor USA by twitter and Honor Italy by facebook. Honor USA told me testually: "EMUI 5.1 will be avaible initially for P10 and P10 Plus, but we are working to get it on other devices too" it's not a confirmation, but sounds like something is moving on the Honor side. Honor Italy told me testually "About EMUI 5.1 actually we don't have any information yet, but surely the Honor 8 will receive software updates in the near future". They also didn't confirmed anything...but hey, initially EMUI 4.1 and 5.0 devices were totally excluded...now something is moving. I think it's a good sign. What do you think?

battery drain at night is also possible due to your cell signal reception quality, especially in a bad reception area this variable can drain your battery quite a lot.
nevertheless I noticed a significant improvement on this new 20p, I ordered a new battery a week ago and decided it was a nice point to start fresh with a new firmware.
was worth the couple hours I invested.
fingers crossed

I'm on 20p and still have same problem. However I did update ota. I'll find 20p firmware and start a fresh. I had no issue on marshmallow. But nougat is smoother and nicer to use. I'd love to keep it. I'll try what you suggested and use LG up.

No I'm not. I'm on s firmware following more updates. Don't tell me s broke it again. Maybe I should just flash brand new firmware using LG up. The problem could be caused by updating ota.
So i installed latest 20s firmware using lg bridge and battery drain with screen off was 3 percent an hour. That means over 1/3 of your battery is lost with phone doing nothing. With my collection of apps phone only sleeps 40 percent of the time. I downgraded back to marshmallow and it's 90 percent asleep with same apps. Battery drain only 1.5 percent an hour. Can cope with that as using Bluetooth smart watch and lots off syncs. Interestingly the battery life of my garmin smart watch drops to 2 days when using nougat from 7 days when using marshmallow. But uninstalling garmins app and turning off Bluetooth only improves standby drain by 0.1 percent on the G5.
Nougat ok if you set location to GPS only
Back to nougat. It's just much smoother than marshmallow and heats up less. Seems the problem is the location settings. With this on GPS only and no WiFi scanning I get much less wakelocks.
It's made a whole day with 4 hours 30 screen on.
Can't complain at that. About what I'd expect given screen and battery size. Some of that transferring photo's over WiFi and playing games. Rest browsing the web.
