Yea. Extract it all to the Android - platform tools folder. Same with the mfastboot exe file. I make a shortcut to the android sdk folder on my desktop so it's easier to access

I currently have the RETEU version installed which is working fine. Will there be any advantage to me putting this one on instead or should I just stick with the other version?

I'm not actually sure. I just do some bits on my phone with spare time. I think it's better to have your baseband the right region though I could be wrong. I think @dr.nic may know

Reboot to recovery? You can flash an image to get rid of the warning

Have checked some XT1072 images, most of 6.0 images have the same baseband atm : M8926_309101.02.03.19R

Glad to see that someone was kind enough to put up a proper guide thread
I hope I was able to help you earlier.
About root, I was looking for a solution, but unfortunately the only way to get root working is by flashing a modded kernel and then supersu zip. Chainfire did this for nexus and someone did this for Moto X 2014.
Unfortunately I don't know anything about modding kernel and we need someone who is able to do that, or else you get bootloop flashing root.

I'm talking about this part especifically:
"
Acquiring root without modifying the boot images is still under investigation. Please note that the current method will not be officially supported. Future roots may require a clean system: we are at a very early stage of root for 6.0, methods used are subject to change.
For the modders, you can do the sepolicy modifications yourself as follows:
- root a reference device (4.4+ with SELinux enabled) with v2.50+
- extract the sepolicy file from the target boot image's ramdisk
- with the reference device connected to ADB:
Code:
adb push sepolicy /data/local/tmp/sepolicy
adb shell su -c "supolicy --file /data/local/tmp/sepolicy /data/local/tmp/sepolicy_out"
adb shell su -c "chmod 0644 /data/local/tmp/sepolicy_out"
adb pull /data/local/tmp/sepolicy_out sepolicy_out
- replace the sepolicy file in the boot image's ramdisk with the sepolicy_out file
- profit
"

If you upgraded through the regular OTA method or by sideloading, you must be having stock recovery. Now, to install TWRP, you will need the latest image file from here:https://twrp.me/devices/huaweinexus6p.html
Boot your 6P into bootloader mode, and flash using the following command:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.0.2-0-angler.img
As about Systemless/System root, the installer itself goes for the systemless method, and if somehow the requirements fail, it will install to system.

Yes, if you flashed the recovery.img as part of the update you'll need to flash TWRP again. Just use systemless SuperSU.
do i have to compulsorily flash twrp or can i boot temporarily?

You can live-boot it instead of flashing it to the device. Where the filename of the recovery is twrp-3.0.2-0-angler.img, the command would be this:
Code:
fastboot boot twrp-3.0.2-0-angler.img

Return to stock with OTA

I know this is a noob but I want to return to 100% stock just like out of the box. Right now I have unlocked bootloader, custom ROM, and rooted. I want to return to stock and if I do will I get OTA updates like normal? And also how would I go about returning to complete stock? But biggest question would be would I receive OTA if I do?
Download original firmware for your region and flash it in fastboot mode. After that you can unroot and relock the bootloader. You will get OTA updates after relocking the bootloader.

The thread I have sent says you do not need to relock the bootloader, you will still get the OTA updates.

It was an American user who posted the info about leaving the bootloader unlocked, so I assume its the same for the XT1575
He said :

Sounds like a waste of time considering you can take OTAs fine with an unocked bootloader. You're welcome!

If you want to leave the bootloader unlocked, don't use these two lines :
fastboot oem lock begin
fastboot oem lock
Also many people (me included) have found the modem doesn't install unless you flash it twice. So change
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
to
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn

Help, I can not return to Stock Firmeware! Erro Partition name

Hey guys! I need help.
this is my erro
fastboot flash boot patched_bootOPW27.113-45-4.img
Sending 'boot__b' (18992 KB) OKAY [ 0.421s]
Writing 'boot__b' (bootloader) Invalid partition name boot__b
FAILED (remote: '')
Finished. Total time: 0.436s
I use this tutorial, the erro occurs in almost all commands
can you give a hand to fix that erro?
Thanks!
@dunno ? first that's not stock. But either way try this instead.
Fastboot flash boot_b ...and the boot image name.
Just one underscore and slot to designate either a or b.
When flashing stock I like mfastboot and flashall.bat file.. A bit dated but does the job where fastboot fails.
Try this let me know if you need help.

@Duuo,
Of course. There are some recently updated Stock ROM's posted. But any will get you operating.

Brilliant Guide with links you might need.

Another brilliant guide with links to download and use mfastboot.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/g6-plus/how-to/flashall-bat-flash-stockfirmware-via-t3789160
The flashall.bat file. Using mfastboot you need to right click, edit the .bat file... place an "m" in front of fastboot & save it.
Place the flashall.bat in the Stock ROM folder.
The mfastboot files go in with adb/fastboot files.
Click the flashall.bat and it should install the system and reboot.

doubt:
in the file https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=1322778262904028630, i do not find the system.img and recovery.img.
I found only the files oem_other.img, oem.img and bootloader.img. Which i use?
thanks. sorry for my bad english
Those are the correct files. We do not have a recovery image.
To install a GSI which contains system, boot & vendor image that's a different subject..
Those are the Stock ROM files. Place the fashall.bat file in there after editing click it & will do for you. Or copy/paste Each Command from the First Link with Stock ROM just takes much longer.

English is fine. No worries.

Hey! I use the bat file, but i have to edit this file, then use each one command manually, but when im enter the command mfastboot erase DDR a erro occurs:
mfastboot erase DDR
erasing 'DDR'...
(bootloader) Invalid partition name DDR
FAILED (remote failure)
finished. total time: 0.003s
Need i this?
thanks again
No it's fine.
In some stock ROM's it's able to erase DDR partition but not necessary.

You shouldn't need to enter all those commands when using the .bat file. That's what it's for. ?
