What's the focal length of the lens on the Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X? - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I don't see the focal length in 35mm terms listed in the specifications. Does anyone here know what it is?

Thanks! That lens is pretty wide! I wish it was closer to the iPhone's focal length.

Get the iPhone.
Or just move in a little closer - I'd much prefer doing this!

Does 6p support RAW? I haven't seen anyone mentioning it yet.

From what I gather, it's yes if you use a third party camera app. The native camera app cannot output a RAW image.

Camera Quality

Does anyone else have doubts about the atrix & utilizing the face unlock feature when available? Our front facing camera is worse than any other I've seen :/
Just a thought, so many while I highly anticipate ICS.

front camera face unlock is a gimmick.
just like 3D photos.
imo.

Thanks exactly what I was thinking.
The Front camera on the atrix is HORRIBLE in low light conditions...... so yeah I don't think it will function very well for the people that would be interested in it.

I agree, and swiping the finger on the screen is faster than trying 5 times to unlock the phone with your face. I don't expect the face unlock feature to work very well.
Who here would actually want to sit there and look at your phone to unlock it? Much less in public lol. Plus I'm sure it's not instant and I like being able to get into my phone right away.

Haha I thought it was a pretty cool idea.. then I saw how much better other phones front camera is than ours, you'd have to be in direct light for it to maybe function, even then the quality is very poor.
Sent from my MB860 using xda premium
The front camera is actually not that bad. Take some photo and it comes out ok on the computer.
The problem is the crappy pentile LCD, which causes some 'burning' effect on red/dark areas.
This has been proven to be a gimmick and anyone with a photo of you can actually unlock your phone!
For me fingerprint reader works wonderful!

Rayan

[Q] Panorama Available on GS4?

I have to carry an iPhone around for work in addition to my personal phone. The only time I use the iPhone is for Panorama shots, but I was wondering if the GS4 can do them as well.
I did a search (both on XDA and Google) and nobody states whether panorama capabilities are available on the GS4.
The only mentioning on Google is some report back in March stating that the GS4 could also do 3D photos. So obviously that's a lie too.
Does anyone know?
of course even my galaxy s2 can

Yep it can, there is an example of it in one of the camera photo threads in the main section.
Nice. Thanks guys. It looks like the iPhone panorama, right? Not the "Spherical" that I've been seeing.

Low res panoramas

All my panoramas seem to be really low resolution and really poor quality. Is there some setting that will make them better?
I'm pretty sure that they used to be better than this on my gnex!

You could see it like this:
Instead of having crappy digital zoom you can now have optical zoom
Only downside is the size and you can't really control the zoom levels, unless the scope itself has adjustable zoom levels.

So they just added a bigger display.
Don't think it was worth all the effort.
They've also changed the second rear camera for a wide angle F1.7 one.

I think it is still telephoto, not wide angel, otherwise, there cannot be bokeh effect through a specialized 'portrait mode' ...
IMHO, OP wants software compatibility to the OP5, so it'd be much easier to maintain.

What happens to Conrad though? Since he didn't follow the Non Disclosure Agreement! Will he be sued or something? Nobody is talking about it.
