[Q] Panorama Available on GS4? - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have to carry an iPhone around for work in addition to my personal phone. The only time I use the iPhone is for Panorama shots, but I was wondering if the GS4 can do them as well.
I did a search (both on XDA and Google) and nobody states whether panorama capabilities are available on the GS4.
The only mentioning on Google is some report back in March stating that the GS4 could also do 3D photos. So obviously that's a lie too.
Does anyone know?

of course even my galaxy s2 can

Yep it can, there is an example of it in one of the camera photo threads in the main section.

Nice. Thanks guys. It looks like the iPhone panorama, right? Not the "Spherical" that I've been seeing.

Has anyone seen this pic of SGT with Gingerbread ROM from Samsung Mobile?

This is from the Facebook of Samsung Mobile Taiwan. The Tab is loaded with Android 2.3.3.
Please pardon me if somebody has posted this pic on the forum.

There have been several signs that its out there, but this is the best proof

cool. i can't wait to have it on m tab
I hope GB is better on the Tab than it is on my Nexus One. I have not posted any issues in the N1 forums, but there are some quirks that bug the crap out of me! I know, wrong thread to complain about my N1, but my point is that hopefully the experience is better on the Tab.
Isnt thepicture photoshopped?
looking at i closely it does kind of look edited..particularly in the upper segments where the text appears clearer, when the reflection should make it even more blurry...hmm..

"Photoshopped pic" was the first thing that came across my mind when I saw this pic at the first sight, but this pic is from the Facebook page of Samsung Mobile Taiwan.
Here is the link of their fb: (please ignore the spaces since i'm not able to post links at this moment)

ZTJPS? That's the firmware we'll be waiting for.
It does look kinda photo shopped, but then again, so does a majority of photos like this that get released about firmwares.
I for one believe that this is real. Every Gingerbread Tab photo/screenshot have been from Taiwan/Asia. Hopefully it'll start being rolled out.

Very true I took a glimpse when I first tyoed it out and the top of the 5 looked a bit too curved to be a 5.

Although I do think this is real, my tab, as a joke says HONEYCOMB 3.2.2. You can make it say anything you want, really.

I really want that korean or asian firmware. From my experience with samsung devices. Asian firmwares are snappier as they dont come packed with bloatware for euro firmware. Has no drm (usually dunno about the tab). Has better support with linux.
Maybe a stupid question, but is there an estimate for the launch of 2.3 for the SGT?

Would be nicer if we could have 2.3.4 with video chat (maybe after we have 2.3.3) it shouldnt be too hard for samsung or xda since there is little difference
Or even honeycomb

Please keep to the open thread!
With some issues, multiple threads are not really too much of a problem, but if there are numerous 'photo' threads, then no doubt we will lose quality photos to the depths of the forum never to be seen again.
Many users place the photography quality high on their list when choosing a phone, so let's make it easy for them to see what a great job Samsung did with the camera.
Regards.

Found a new fantastic app'.

I've just found a fantastic new app' that works brilliantly on the Note.
It's called 'Screencast Video Recorder' and basically it makes a video of your Android screen as you use the phone. So you can set it to record and then navigate through menus or applications, games etc and it records it all as an MP4 video. Really useful for those wanting to do demos of their system or showing off their prowess in games.
And the good news is that it's now just 99p on the Marketplace.
I've no connection whatsoever to the app', the developer etc but just thought it was a fantastic and very clever app' worth sharing with fellow Note owners.
Enjoy.

I bought this app a few days ago for about £3
The app is excellent though and the audio is crystal clear using the Note.
Does anyone know what would be the ideal settings to use on our Note's as when I use it, the phone does tend to get very hot.
I have attached a screen shot of the results of the benchmark using the app :
Just a quick note, you need root for Screencast Video Recorder to work
Hasc - I get a benchmark of 86400. I've managed to up the framerate to 30 fps without any issues.
p.s. Don't forget the 'Thanks' button if you like the recommendation. ;-)

You can use it to do reviews of apps
You can reproduce errors that you may encounter with your device
You can help other users by demonstrating functions or steps to do something on device
You can show others how to get 3 stars in angry birds
The above are just a few suggestions, please use your imagination.

What happened to the stock camera live effects?

Was it just an exclusive feature to the galaxy nexus/ ICS?
Is there anyway to port the camera app to work with nexus 4?

its the same on the n4 as its on the gnex with jelly bean. the effects are in the gallery. when you go to a picture, on the bottom right are 3 intertwined circles. press that. the only difference in the camera app between both nexus is that the n4 has an hdr option. other than that, they are the same.

look at the date on that video. different versions of android had different camera setting. i also have a gnex, those dont exist in jelly bean.
I mourned the loss of this with Jelly Bean's arrival on my Gnex. Seems to have been lost and forgotten, which is unfortunate as it was always hilarious with friends.

That's an awfully useless answer. Updates are supposed to add and fix features, not remove them. It's quite odd that they would take out a feature they had on 4.0 in 4.2.
