1. Enable developer options from (sorry I can't post links yet):
htt

[basically go to settings > about ... tap build number a bunch of times.
2. Go to newly created Developer Options (in Settings) and slide enable OEM unlocking.
If your phone has different options or your carrier does some weird stuff ... you might be able to modify

How? To Unlock Help anyone

Try this link: http://www.androot.org/samsung-root/root-samsung-galaxy-grand-prime-sm-g530h.html
And remember BACKUP everything first. If you don't know how .. find out before moving on. I can walk you through if you want. This works for the SM-G530H I don't know if that is the phone you actually have or not. If not don't try this. Find a root for your specific model and Android version.
In the link where is has the file 'SM-G530H_Android_4.4.4.zip" IF THAT DOESN'T MATCH YOUR PHONE STOP HERE!

What i mean is Unlock the bootloader sorry

What carrier do you have? Depending on the carrier your bootloader might not be locked. See it you can tinker this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z-ultra/general/guide-everything-root-4-4-4-t2938098 (wrong phone but the method might still work).

Download this app "Phone INFO *Samsung*" by vnduguyen and post the specks for your phone here (screenshot each page but the personal ones). Someone might have more info for you if they know what your Android version is. I'm still a beginner myself so I don't know what half that stuff means.

Gentlemen..screenshot #4, reads that Root is present, the bootloader is unlocked, or Root couldn't be..
Test for Root on the device (make sure) if the device is Rooted, the bootloader is already unlocked, or never locked..
Owner/User, have you manually Rooted the device, or did you purchase it used.?

New to Samsung, but, if we were dealing with a Motorola or 1+1 device, then absolutely, your device bootloader is unlocked.
Have you flashed anything else, different (bin) files, successfully.?
What Root procedure did you use, Maybe ChainFire's CF-Root.?
Maybe whom ever Root procedure you used, has figured out a bootloader exploit/Root exploit..I'm not familiar with Samsung YET..lol
Check on your Root procedure history, will it by-pass a locked bootloader.?
Also, maybe the (modem.bin) your attempting to flash, is a downgrade and isn't allowed to overwrite the current one on your device.?

Well I just use Kingroot to root it
I have successfully Flashed a Modem.bin that came from XXU Firmware what im trying to do is flash A modem.bin than came from a XCU firmware

[Q] Cant root or install custom ROM

Dear friends
Have just bought a Note 4 (SM910F) and spend a few hours yesterday and failed to install ANY custom ROM on my device.
Status: Currently on Lollipop 5.0.1, not Root
1. Installed TWRP (and tried CWM)
2. Downloaded custom ROM to sdcard
3. Booted into recovery mode.
4. Wipe cache/dalvik
4. Install from zip
5. Result = Boot loop
Recovered the phone by using ODIN and stock firmware (which reverts to stock recovery). I tried about 4 different ROMS (Cm12, x-note, sweet, etc) and all had the same result. Only thing i can think of is ...do I need to root BEFORE I try installing a custom ROM? i dont remember doing this with my Note 3.
Ive been using the Note series for years and have never had this issue installing a custom ROM. Can anyone help? I cant use the Note 4 in its current state!

Thank you for your response.
1. TWRP - Im sure i have the right one.
1. The ROMS are definitely compatible with the device. I checked.
2. Bootloader? hmm does this get installed by the recovery module or something I had to directly install?
Anyway no harm in starting fresh. Il re-download everything and make sure I have it right.
Thanks
You said currently 5.0.1, did you do an upgrade from Kitkat ? Kitkat and Lollipop has different bootloaders and is the reason for most of troubles with flashing.
Go back to stock en go further on,at first root with Chainfire-Auto root then flash the right TWRP ,i use TWRP 2.8.6.0. Do NOT use 2.8.5.0!!!!!. Iam using Odin 3.09 for flashing.

When you say go back to stock? do you mean recovery or the firmware? the device came with lollipop installed. Thank you though. Il use the TWRP you recommended.

By stock ,i mean the firmware.
So if the device came with Lollipop it should have the Lollipop bootloader. An you must search for root and Twrp for Galaxy Note 4 Lollipop root + Twrp Altough on my S4 they work for both.
Did you buy the phone new or second hand? If on second hand ,did you verrify it was working ok?
And IMPORTANT if you buy second hand ,it could be a clone, what dit you pay if in this case?
---------- Post added at 03:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:13 PM ----------
Please download from the Playstore PhoneInfo,it's for samsung devices and search in the harware section for Snapdragon or Exynos, if that not appears you are ****ed ,witch means it's a clone

Dont think its a clone but to be sure ive checked and its a qualcom snapdragon, however im not sure if the owner before me bought it with lollipop or kk and upgraded it. How can i check if it has the right bootloader? wouldnt installing a ROM update the bootloader too?
Also i have the stock firmware installed.
So the plan is:
1. Update the recovery to TWRP (version you mentioned)
2. Root with CF-autoroot
2. Wipe the system clean, inc dalvik, cache
3. Install custom ROM
Sound good?

Root Lenovo Vibe K4 note?

Hello,
I have long been searching for a method to root my lenovo K4 note but none of the mentioned method works (Framaroot, Towelroot, and Kingroot).
So, i was curious if even there exist an exploit or a method to root it?
Please can someone (Developers) find a way to root it?
P.S.-It is depressing that even being a popular phone, there isn't a dedicated device listing of the K4 note on XDA.
I hope XDA moderators can list it in the list of devices.

Have you selected the Developer Options and enable OEM Unlocking do it and try. I got rooted by this method using KingRoot
i am unable to install update on my phone it failed on 24%
Supersu working perfectly my lenovo k4 note

Need to understand the procedure how you made SuperSu to work on your phone?
Guys, don't root your phone using Kingsroot as the OTA update will not work even if you unroot it.
You may have to flash stock room again to get the updates and the procedure is little complicate.
Be careful!!!!!!
Yaa it's true after rooting ota wiil not be installed that's why we many need custom recovery to flash them
But u can transfer kingroot with SuperSU and try update it worked for me the first time but failed at 2nd 38 MB upgrade

Tab 4 SM-t337a Lollipop 5.1.1 Brick Problem?

Hello all - I have spent the last several days searching the web for a solution and I fear I may be stuck. From what I can gather, there is no stock firmware image of 5.1.1 that I can use on my t337a Tab to restore to factory. I installed KingoRoot from the play store and then tried to install Xposed Framework. This is when all hell broke loose. I am not familiar with android as I am an ios guy and admittedly did not spend enough time researching. I now must defer to the world and accept the flaming that will almost certainly ensue. Here is the info I have:
Lollipop 5.1.1 was the starting point.
SM-t337a tab 4 8"
Knox Warranty 0x0 (not sure if that matters)
Current Binary: Samsung Official
System Status: Official
Reactivation Lock: Off
Qualcomm Secureboot: Enable (csb)
RP AWREV: s1, t2, r1, a2, p1
Secure Download: Enable
UDC Start
Sorry if that means nothing but I want to be thorough if anyone is willing to help. I have tried the LP Boot Fix with no luck. I boot to the AT&T logo and after a few secs it locks up and sits there. I have attempted to downgrade to KK but the write failed (auth). I believe I need to flash a pit file? but before I jump back in, I thought I would consult some people more educated than I am. My understanding is there may be a way to take it to a retailer and have them reflash but that would be admitting defeat.
Thanks in advance for any help offered. If more info is needed, I will get it promptly.
This may be in the wrong place. Can a mod move it where it should be? Sorry
Man, I must be screwed! I really thought I would be able to get out of this one. Is there not an expert out there that can point me in the right direction?
I had the same exact problem basically.
Here is how I fixed it:
I found a stock rom here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/tab-4/general/links-galaxy-tab-4-official-lollipop-5-t3102844
And I used this guide here: https://androidmtk.com/flash-samsung-stock-rom-using-odin.
This will require a PC, and a way to connect your device to it.

Awesome! You have a SM-T337A as well? My biggest issue is AT&T locking it down.

I have a t337a also and restoring back to stock rom fixed mine. I really wish there were a way to root and install rom on this thing. I have now been searching for another tablet that I can root. Seems like such a waste. I like this device so it's really frustrating at thus point and not an easy conversation with the wife why I need amother tablet.

Did that link to the stock rom? I thought that was an ota that I could not use. Do you have a link to the stop rom you used?
He must have never updated to Lollipop. Once you do that, your screwed. There IS NO OFFICIAL FIRMWARE FOR THIS DEVICE RUNNING LOLLIPOP!!!! You can bring it to a Samsung Service Center in Best Buy but once they see the custom lock on your boot screen, they will know that you messed around with it, and they will not flash it. From what they told me, once your tablet goes into custom kernel status, their software will not be able to restore the firmware. Not sure if this last part is true, but what is true is that there is NO FIRMWARE ONLINE ANYWHERE FOR THIS DEVICE RUNNING LOLLIPOP. I've been screwed for several months now over this same issue. I went on E-bay and bought the unlocked T-mobile version of the Tab 4 which does have the software available. I will NEVER EVER BUY ANOTHER AT&T DEVICE EVER!!!!! I will have AT&T service but I will use a T-mobile device.
This is what I see when I try that method.

That's a update file and you must be on stock unrooted Kit Kat to flash that. That's why you are getting the status 7 error. Like I said, you are screwed like everyone else. Your only hope is bringing it to best buy and u have better luck than I did.

Yeah, when you do a factory reset or flash firmware, it will take longer to boot. Its like a new device, booting for the first time.

I'm new to this forum and this website so please mind my knowledge.
I've been scouting the webs for an answer that I've never found...
I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 (SM-G900F) that I've upgraded to Marshmallow
The baseband version is G900FXXU1CPB8
I've been waiting months to find a guide to root this phone
I found the Chainfire package and I've tried to root but failed resulting in a hard brick
I've upgraded to Marshmallow again in hope to find a correct guide
I have found out that unlocking the Bootloader is the key but when I go into Developer Options, Enable OEM Unlock is not there
I'm trying to find a way to unlock the Bootloader and root my phone... Please help
From: Akhil Hansrajh
Who told you that the unlock the bootloader is in developer options

It's in security option then uncheck on reactivation lock
After that flash the root file with odin
I'm guessing that I need to use my Samsung Account?
The G900F bootloader is already unlocked. The red no need to enable OEM unlock and so such button exists. You can root by flashing TWRP and supersu
Can you guys provide a link for the TWRP? I can't find any reliable links
Do I have to flash TWRP first or do I install the Chainfire package?

@1stcowgirl please make links public and share the source of those links for 2 reasons.
1) Other members might be in need of that very information.
2) Your reluctance to make these assets public knowledge makes it *look* like you are trying to hide something....I'm sure this is not the case but it could be interpreted as such.

p.s.
The Truth is:
the 1st guide i found (the same as above), was HERE AT XDA!!!!! (though i cant find it again).
i remember it was a few lines writen what to do, AND IN THE END THERE WAS A LINE THAT SAID: "CLICK HERE FOR GUIDE + PICTURES"!
so the pic i posted above was from that post from XDA.

This guy has been reported to XDA for providing files which DO NOT work. I have asked the admin to remove this post to avoid confusion. Have tried every which way and have YET to flash it successfully. Piece of junk

Nothing works at all! How about you remove your post until you can prove it works via Youtube or a screenshot. Also would be nice to have actual instructions. Have been on XDA for a long time and this is by far the worst instructions and/or post on XDA. YOu have been reported and I have asked Admin to remove your post as it is misleading and can lead people to break their phones

This stuff works. The files are good. You need the Z3 to flash. I suggest you spend the $200 and get one for future phones you ever get that need unlocking. I bought one and I unlocked an Google locked s8 plus that was also sim unlocked to Cspire. The box unlocked both for me and I'm now using it on Verizon. And no please no one message me to unlock remotely. This is a hobby just for the phones I aquire. Sorry.
I tried it on T-Mob SM-G955U but phone is still locked, any solution?

Of course it works, you just have to use the patched Odin to flash these engineering boot-root files.

No it does not trip knox. Also there is no need to flash entire stock rom back. Just flash the stock boot image and bootloader files back
