How do we use these?

Nothing works at all! How about you remove your post until you can prove it works via Youtube or a screenshot. Also would be nice to have actual instructions. Have been on XDA for a long time and this is by far the worst instructions and/or post on XDA. YOu have been reported and I have asked Admin to remove your post as it is misleading and can lead people to break their phones

This stuff works. The files are good. You need the Z3 to flash. I suggest you spend the $200 and get one for future phones you ever get that need unlocking. I bought one and I unlocked an Google locked s8 plus that was also sim unlocked to Cspire. The box unlocked both for me and I'm now using it on Verizon. And no please no one message me to unlock remotely. This is a hobby just for the phones I aquire. Sorry.

I tried it on T-Mob SM-G955U but phone is still locked, any solution?

Of course it works, you just have to use the patched Odin to flash these engineering boot-root files.

Try this link: http://www.androot.org/samsung-root/root-samsung-galaxy-grand-prime-sm-g530h.html
And remember BACKUP everything first. If you don't know how .. find out before moving on. I can walk you through if you want. This works for the SM-G530H I don't know if that is the phone you actually have or not. If not don't try this. Find a root for your specific model and Android version.
In the link where is has the file 'SM-G530H_Android_4.4.4.zip" IF THAT DOESN'T MATCH YOUR PHONE STOP HERE!
What i mean is Unlock the bootloader sorry

What carrier do you have? Depending on the carrier your bootloader might not be locked. See it you can tinker this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z-ultra/general/guide-everything-root-4-4-4-t2938098 (wrong phone but the method might still work).

Gentlemen..screenshot #4, reads that Root is present, the bootloader is unlocked, or Root couldn't be..
Test for Root on the device (make sure) if the device is Rooted, the bootloader is already unlocked, or never locked..
Owner/User, have you manually Rooted the device, or did you purchase it used.?

New to Samsung, but, if we were dealing with a Motorola or 1+1 device, then absolutely, your device bootloader is unlocked.
Have you flashed anything else, different (bin) files, successfully.?
What Root procedure did you use, Maybe ChainFire's CF-Root.?
Maybe whom ever Root procedure you used, has figured out a bootloader exploit/Root exploit..I'm not familiar with Samsung YET..lol
Check on your Root procedure history, will it by-pass a locked bootloader.?
Also, maybe the (modem.bin) your attempting to flash, is a downgrade and isn't allowed to overwrite the current one on your device.?
Well I just use Kingroot to root it
I have successfully Flashed a Modem.bin that came from XXU Firmware what im trying to do is flash A modem.bin than came from a XCU firmware

The problem is that you don't know what you are doing.
1. Download and unzip the file: HERE. Don't try to flash other coz won't work.
2. Turn off your device and go to DOWNLOAD mode.
3. Open ODIN and conect the device to your PC.
4. Flash the firmware like in the pic attached. Wait till ODIN tells you PASS in GREEN. It will reboot automatically.
5. DONE.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Marshmallow 6.0.1

Dear XDA Members
I'm new to this forum and this website so please mind my knowledge.
I've been scouting the webs for an answer that I've never found...
I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 (SM-G900F) that I've upgraded to Marshmallow
The baseband version is G900FXXU1CPB8
I've been waiting months to find a guide to root this phone
I found the Chainfire package and I've tried to root but failed resulting in a hard brick
I've upgraded to Marshmallow again in hope to find a correct guide
I have found out that unlocking the Bootloader is the key but when I go into Developer Options, Enable OEM Unlock is not there
I'm trying to find a way to unlock the Bootloader and root my phone... Please help
From: Akhil Hansrajh

After that flash the root file with odin
I'm guessing that I need to use my Samsung Account?
The G900F bootloader is already unlocked. The red no need to enable OEM unlock and so such button exists. You can root by flashing TWRP and supersu
Can you guys provide a link for the TWRP? I can't find any reliable links
Do I have to flash TWRP first or do I install the Chainfire package?

@1stcowgirl please make links public and share the source of those links for 2 reasons.
1) Other members might be in need of that very information.
2) Your reluctance to make these assets public knowledge makes it *look* like you are trying to hide something....I'm sure this is not the case but it could be interpreted as such.

The Truth is:
the 1st guide i found (the same as above), was HERE AT XDA!!!!! (though i cant find it again).
i remember it was a few lines writen what to do, AND IN THE END THERE WAS A LINE THAT SAID: "CLICK HERE FOR GUIDE + PICTURES"!
so the pic i posted above was from that post from XDA.

OREO 8.1.0 J3 2017 MODEL J327A (no root)

1. download and flash by odin 3.13.1 the rom ROM Samsung J3 2017 (J327A) (USA AT&T) J327AUCS2ARG2.zip 1.5GB (if you already have this base installed in your phone go to step 2)
2. Download the file OREO pach file and save it to the SD card of your mobile. OTA-J327AUCS2ARG2-to-U2BRI3.zip 1007.2MB pach september
3. Turn off and start the phone in recovery mode.
4. Using the volume keys, select the option: "Apply update from the SD card", select the file and press the power button and wait for it to finish.
* enjoy!
Is this an official OTA update? Either way, I am downloading now to test it. I'll post results when I am done.
Edit: I am getting an error message that reads:
mount: failed to mount /dev/block/platform/13540000.dwmmc0/by-name/SYSTEM at /system: permission denied
After it finishes, I get stuck in a bootloop that just flashes the Samsung logo, vibrates the phone, and repeats. I can recover using the Odin files, so it's not too big a deal, but I'd like to have the Oreo running. Any ideas?

If you're phone's unlocked, it doesn't matter what the carrier is; the important thing is you have the same model: j327. That said, this is the first Oreo ROM the j327 has received. You guys try it (but use TWRP to wipe out the system, data, and Dalvik caches first) and let me know how it goes. I have yet to try; I'm gonna unlock my j327p for Verizon first.

Is there TWRP for this device? Also, I was able to get it working with the other image that was posted. Sorry I didn't reply with that sooner.

https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...nt/ecovery-root-twrp-3-1-1-1-samsung-t3709987 for j327u,
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...overy-twrp-3-1-0-1-samsung-galaxy-j3-t3573607 for j327p.
What device do you have? Not that it matters what TWRP you choose to install (it should work both ways)

I dont live in the US but i am geting security patches and this is great but i am still on mm i don't belive sprit will launch oreo for this device
And the kernel code its public ? the xiaomi redmi 5A with MSM8917 ,the same board like the j3 emerge got 7.1.2 and will get 8.1 from xiaomi and the suport on xda its superb, and the j3 emerge don't have any custom rom like lineage os,carbon os or aokp ?

I have no idea. But I had a Grand Prime and used a ROM for a TracFone variant instead of a Sprint variant, and most of the features still work. The j327a and p shouldn't be that different.

I know; it's been more than a year. And this is saddening.
I'll ask @vince2678 if he'll support the J3. He supports a lot of devices for long periods of time.

Not able to pass modem fail screen...my oem is on frp is off
A920x to a920f
Guys you can convert it to a920f easily
Just flash a920f combination firmware
Uncheck modem.bin before flashing (this is important)
Other wise u will be stuck at secure check fail modem
I already bricked my 1 phone like this
After flashing combination firmware
Enable developer options
Oem unlock
And then flash latest a920f firmware
Everything works except sim card

Latest rev 2 bootloader firmware
And extract modem.bin from it
I have the firmware version
Can anyone find the firmware?
