At&t corporate stores not answering the phone - Note Edge General

I have called 4 corporate stores in the Atlanta area to see if they have the Note Edge is stock. Not one of the 4 answers the phone. Repeated called to each go unanswered.
Once again, AT&T you prove that customer service is rather low on your list of priorities.
--Mike

Anyone have any luck picking one up today?
--Mike

I decided to simply order one online. No stress; it will be here in a few days. End of story...:good:

Sounds like they have high call volume....
lol. i bet everyone is doing what you are. i have been told that not many note edges where made for the US. They say Tmobile only had 10,000 for the us.
Next week tho i bet will be another shipment tho.

I ended up calling the corporate office and asking them where I could go pick one up. The Customer Service rep put me on hold and called around for me and finally found a store with two in stock. I just picked it up.

This EVO Backorder Business Is Getting Rediculous!!!

I'm corporate so I have to go through my Sprint rep (can't get one through a local store), ordered it a week ago today and still no word.
Same here.. but i got on the in-store list as well. My hope is that the wait is due to manufacturing changes and I get a device without all the shortcomings of the earlier devices.

im thinking the same thing, they are probably redoing something along the manufacturing line
I'm waiting for it to be in stock so I can get a replacement evo because of the back light leaking issue I call n it's out of stock every time they said as soon as it goes in stock I can get a replace ment no questions asked
Yeah, but in the meantime they should be knocking out some with the old config (the changes aren't that critical) !!!!! If they wait any longer, the moto x, iphone 4, etc are going to kill their sales numbers. Time is money... hurry up HTC and Sprint!!!!!!

Are you sure you can't get one from the store? Cause I'm on a corporate account also and I walked into a Sprint store on the 4th and walked out with one
A hot product is out of stock! More news at 11!

Sent from my HTC EVO 4G using Tapatalk Pro.
I was on a waiting list at one of the Sprint retail kisoks in one of our malls for an Evo for my dad and I was going to bring him and my mom to my family plan. I called a week and a half ago and got on the list and then I called saturday (8 days later) and they said they'd call me back later that day, I waited 3 hours and they said they were still seeing if they could work something out. I took my parents out to lunch and they place they picked was over near the mall so I decided we should stop by after lunch and see where I was on the list and figure things out. We stopped by and I asked where I was on the list and I was still on the second page. I then said "We are here, you can either call 20 people back on the list today and maybe get one, or you could sell me one right now while we're here. He considered it a second and then said "Ok, I can do that". My mom had though about getting one as well and after she heard him say that she chimed in with "get one for me too". And he did and we walked out 30 min later all set. Just have to realize that they are there to sell phones, so if you find the right guys and show them cash they're much more motivated.
I agree with you man. I ordered from http://shopamerica.htc.com/homebrands/index.htm because on their website, it said they were in stock, so I placed the order that day (FRIDAY), WAS APPROVED NEXT DAY, AND SAID IT WAS READY TO SHIP. It showed my estimated delivery date. Said it would be shipped out Tues (tomorrow) and would arrive Weds since I chose overnight.
I check the status of my order today and to my surprise there is a new tab that says BACK ORDERED. I was pissed off! I called up customer care immediately asking why did they say it was in stock on their website, then all of a sudden today, it says its on back order. The rep told me that "THEY MUST'VE FORGOT TO REMOVE IT FROM THEIR SYSTEM." I'm like wtf kinda bull**** is that? I didn't get any notification, no phone call, no email. I had to find out by checking online. Very unprofessional.
I asked her when I would receive my phone and she told me they would be getting them in stock on Friday the 25th. So I said fine and hung up. Called back up a couple hours later because I initially forgot to ask when I would ACTUALLY RECEIVE IT. Gave the person my info and he then tells me that I wont receive my phone until JULY 1ST. You can only imagine how much more pissed off I was. I told him what the previous rep told me, then he said the earliest you are going to receive your phone is July 1st. I asked him about cancelling my order and he told me it would take 3-5 business days. Then I told him, you can automatically debit my account the day I make purchase, but it would take almost a full week to get refunded? Told him i'd think about cancellign and i'd call him when i've reached a decision.
How can one rep tell me one date, then another rep give me another? That is so rediculous. If I DO NOT receive my phone by the 1st, i'm definately cancelling my order and sticking with T-Mobile. This is rediculous...
yes, but there's a caveat...

On a corporate/business/enterprise account, you can definitely walk into a Sprint store and walk out with anything in there, as long as you are a POC on the account.
HOWEVER...
There's a catch: most sprint stores are privately owned, so any hardware in there has been purchased by the owner from Sprint. Result: the discounts you can get through your rep are unavailable to you in the store, so your account gets charged whatever the store charges, as opposed to the discounted rates for hardware through your rep.
Lolz i picked mine up on the 8th the day i decided i wanted one and sold my iphone. call around to every little place that has them, they might just have 1 more just for you

Sigh...this waiting game is worse than Christmas Eve. I've been on the waiting list with my Sprint store for almost 2 weeks.
Anyone have any inside knowledge as to when the conveyor belt with new Evo's will start moving again?

I did the same thing.
Now that I'm trying to get it exchanged/replaced I called around and found that every Sprint store is sold out but the first 'Mobile Best Buy' (it's a cart in the mall, lolololol) I got a number for, had over ten in stock. Too bad they're still broken so there isn't a point going through the trouble of exchanging it yet.

Actually the Best Buy near me had 4 of them. There are only 2 problems with that:
1) I am buying at full retail price and Best Buy's cost is $499 and they will not price match for non-activated prices.
2) If HTC stopped production to fix some issues then it makes good sense to wait until production starts back up again.
The problem is that I am really impatient!
3 of ours are from spint.com, but sprint 1800 said that I had to wait until sprint.com got more in before I could exchange them, which they haven't gotten any in recently.
They need to hurry up, because at this rate the samsung galaxy s pro is going to be out.
Caught between MIR deadline and 30-day return?
My employer has a sweet deal on the Evo - so I ordered through them on 6/26 - even though it involves the dreaded mail-in rebate. Of course, I'm on backorder. I noticed though, that the MIR form insists that the receipt must show it was purchased by July 10 to be eligible for the MIR. I suspect this is also the date when the 30-day return clock begins. What if the delays are long, and it goes past that date? Does my cost go up $100 due to the problems with their supply chain? If it goes by the date ordered - then is my 30-day return period reduced to nothing?
I'm betting all the new Evos will ship with the new OTA update that breaks root. HTC's big **** you to the community for trying to fix their problems.

And there have been plenty of updates on other devices that haven't been cracked. Go look at the Hero forum...

Buying a DVP actually at T-Mobile?

Ok.. I am thinking, before placing my order again for the umpteenth time at Dell, since I am coming all the way to the States to get it anyway, does anyone have any info on when/if they'll actually BE at a T-Mobile store? has anyone asked? since they'll have the damn T-Mobile logo on them aaaaanyway...
Christ Dell, you fricking suck.
I'm 99% sure you can only get them from a Microsoft store or Dell. Plus some online retailers like Expansys in the future.

Probably not going to be in T-Mobile stores. They don't suck , you have an unusual request. My company won't ship out of country or to forwarding services either.
It's not even a forwarding issue anymore. I am even agreeing to physically come to the States to take delivery/sign for it with US details for everything and they are rejecting the order. Having to wait to actually talk to staff on Monday, but right now I think I may have no choice but to get a Focus if Monday is a snafu.
Anyway I think at this point all their dates are BS, i would be highly surprised if they actually do ship anything out on the 13th-14th

Haha, well if you like this phone so much that you are agreeing to come to the states to get it then I think they should just give you one for free for being a hell of a customer. Hopefully they get everything out on time I took off of work a couple hours early in anticipation.
T-Mobile are the ones who decide what's carried in their stores, not Dell. Dell had no problems supplying it to MS stores so it would appear you are angry at the wrong company. Better to wait till stock is abundant, fly to a city with an MS store so you can physically get the device and purchase it from them.
LOL it's actually not that big of a deal, it's $30-100 bus ride for me depending on how far I go to do it. I figured the customs + fedex would be at least that much and this way I'd eliminate time and uncertainty but yeah, Dell seems to be terminating at extreme and unusual prejudice and if they don't want a sale they don't want a sale. Just don't blame mexicans or whoever for the faltering economy when you leave money on the table like this.
This wont help this thread but I actually went into a T-mobile store yesterday and was asking the rep a few questions about their network. Those reps in the store cant wait for me to get my DVP so they can play with with it when i come in to activate my service. I had several reps tell me that the phone looks awesome, and this is oming from Android users

Taking time off my sweet vacation to visit here...
Before i left to my roadtrip to Florida,
i decided to annoy(what i love to do most) the people at 2 verizon stores.
At one which is close to my house said they have no knowledge about the Samsung Continuum being EOL'd and they just gave me a business card to call Verizon Customer Service, so i told them i already have that number and that i will include the store number and employee information in my conversation, so they started offering me deals on accessories, i just said "Have a freaking good day, bye"
Since i love driving my car, i decided to go to another Verizon store to bug them, which is by a mall, not that far away from my house. They were more helpful. They confirmed the fact that the Continuum is in process of being EOL'd as well the the Fascinate being EOL'd too. I asked for a reason for all this happening to this phone, they said it didnt sell as much as they hoped it would and for that reason they couldnt release the froyo update. But he did show me something that caught my eye. He also had a Continuum. AND IT HAD 2.2 FROYO!!!! As soon as i started talking to him more about this, the manager cut in and asked to speak with him in her office. Im guessing he said too much.
Later that day i called customer service(which should know me by now since i call too much). And i decided to ask alot of questions to them, this was the response.
"Why has the Samsung Continuum been EOL'd?
Each phone has a term of how long it will be out depending on sales
Well since verizon has abandoned this phone is there a possible way we could at least get the 2.2 update released or at least the open source files for it?
I cant comment on the 2.2 update when it will be released but i know its very soon.
Where you trained to say very soon to these kind of questions?
Excuse me, our answer here at customer service are very accurate with the information they provide us with.
well thank you for providing me with answers that did not help me at all, have a nice day."
Well, i guess i am going to call Samsung customer service to ask them a few questions.
Well i'm going to the beach now, just wanted to check in to our Continuum Community.
good luck with Samsung, atleast Verizon's customer service reps speak english

Do Not Use Wirefly

I just had the worst experience with www.wirefly.com. Here's the email I sent to them and I still haven't received a response.
To Whom It May Concern:
Wirefly has totally screwed up my order. Here is the sequence of events that has occurred:
1) I went to your website to order an HTC EVO 4G LTE to upgrade my existing phone
2) When trying to check out, the address shown on the order had the city and state showing in New Jersey and I couldn’t change it
3) I called in and spoke to a sales rep and they proceeded to take my order over the phone. That order number was 305601984
4) During the review process of the order (and confirmed by the email I received during our phone call), I told the rep that she put in the wrong phone. I wanted an HTC EVO 4G LTE and they had listed an HTC EVO 4G Design. She said she would fix the order. I asked that she send me a new email reflecting the corrected phone. That email never arrived.
5) I tried calling back to customer service but your call-in process doesn’t allow anyone to talk to a person
6) I started a chat online and after explaining the situation, I was told to cancel the order and then order it all over again. I canceled the order.
7) When I tried to reorder, the price was $30 higher than when I first tried to order it; instead of $119.99, it was $149.99. I didn’t place the order.
8) I started a new chat and that person had a hard time understanding what was going on. She said she would have someone call me; I haven’t received that call yet.
9) This morning, I figured I would try calling in to place the order on the phone. I was told that my phone number, 214-684-6400, was not eligible for an upgrade. Obviously when you canceled the order, you didn’t back out the upgrade eligibility with Sprint.
At this point, I do not have an order for a phone and cannot order a new one because my phone line is tagged as ineligible for an upgrade. Wirefly has wasted about 4 hours of my time and I am just furious.
==================================
If your order goes through without a hitch, then no problem. But as soon as you have one single issue, forget it. There's no way to talk to a person on the phone and the people on chat just don't get it. There's just no way to escalate a problem and no way to resolve it.
after so many issues you still went back and tried to reorder again lol
The first time I was doing what they said to do - cancel the order and reorder it so I would get what I wanted. The second time I tried because I felt if I could get a clean order in I would be OK. Obviously not the case.
Last time I tried to order a phone from wirefly they royally screwed it up too. Only once though. after that I asked them to cancel, and I went and bought the phone from radio shack.

Go to a Sprint store, tell them what happened, have them call Sprint and they'll fix the issue with the upgrade eligibility, happened to me at Best Buy in 09. Takes about 48 hours to fix.

I did go to a Sprint store and they said there was nothing they could do. After about 5 hours of my time, I was able to get Wirefly to reinstate my upgrade eligibility. What a colossal waste of time.

it is the same price thorugh Amazon or Best Buy now since wirefly upped their price, why go with the no name people? Just go to a place that has actual customer service.
FYI you can change the zipcode in the order but you have to do it right at the very beginning. First thing I noticed when I went to the link, and changed it.

.. Hate to be that guy, but all your problems could have been avoided if you were a bit more careful/researched more at the beginning. Not trying to pin the blame on you, but dont bash Wirefly for it, esp if youre trying to take advantage of their discount
I had an issue with my preorder, which I placed last Wednesday. I started an online chat to cancel this past Saturday morning. It was cancelled that day, funds returned to my credit card on Sunday and my upgrade was immediately eligible for an upgrade again.

Amazon has been around since 1995 and Best Buy since the early 1980's (and originally as The Sound of Music since 1967). Wirefly has been around since 2003.
No, Amazon and Best Buy haven't been selling phones since they opened their doors, but they're still a better known namebrand/store to consumers, and probably started selling phones about the same time Wirefly started up.
Glad the OP got it sorted. Wirefly does normally get excellent reviews -- check them out on ResellerRatings.com

Who is to blame for this poor G2 launch on at&t, my experience..

So I go to my nearest local at&t store and when I ask for it they said I think we have it on display, but not in stock. Maybe will get stock later from delivery. I go to my next nearest store, and they have it on display as well. I ask him to get me one and he says they have none in the back. I have a definite contact that would hold one for me at his store but its an hour from me but I was about to take the road trip. As I left the 2nd at&t store, I get in my car and the 2nd at&t store rep calls me on my phone and says I found some in the back they were in my managers office. I go back and purchase it off contract. I dare ask for any available cases, he goes to the back again and says they cant find none but one pink one. I said no thanks, no offense to pink cases.
So with that being said, who's fault is this? I actually think it's LG's fault for not pushing for a bigger launch. They dont seem worried, oh well I got one and I'm liking it. Gonna root it and debloat this poor bloated G2. I just hope the battery life is better than my sgs4, I'm using whatever charge it came with today. It sort of reminds me of my nexus 4, the double tap to turn on/off is a stock feature I thought I would never see.
Anyone else with a similar experience? Maybe companies should not launch on Friday the 13th??

This is why I ordered on AT&T website. I placed the order 9/10 at 11pm and it was in my hands on 9/12. I hate dealing with local AT&T stores, at least in the DC/Metro area.
ordered the friday it came out on 9/6 was in my hands monday morning, have been in contact with the guys on IRC, hope we can get this thing cracked soon. =P
Same here. Premier order was even worse. I actually ended up getting one in store this morning. My premier order is still processing from the 11th. Will refuse it when it comes since I can't cancel according to them even though it hasn't shipped.

Bottom line is At&t employees are bunch of dummies. Kidding. Im sure people are quite smart going in but once theyve been in the cluster F ( that is At&t) they are screwed. At&t tells them what phones to push ( Iphones, S4's HTC's etc) and all the others are just fillers. Ive been into at&t stores before and educated the sales rep about the phones they have on display and in most cases they dont even care. This is your freggin job people!! Hello???!!! I ran into the same thing when I purchased the LG OGP - they were clueless and kept wanting me to take a look at the HTC One! Im sure its partly LG's fault but end of the day (IMO) its not just At&t employees that are clueless, Ive encountered the same thing at TMO and Verizon stores too. Never set foot in a Sprint store so I can comment on them.

I've experienced the same thing from AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon. Almost none of the reps that I've spoken with are knowledgeable on phones. I went to a Verizon store wanting to purchase an HTC Droid DNA and was directed to a Note II. I advised him of the reason I was interested in the DNA. Not interested in the Note for the same reasons.

Well I used to work for At&t and I can tell you that they do not really care which phones you buy (to an extent). They only really make money off of contracts. The problem is that they only educate workers on the more popular phones, so they tend to show you a Samsung so they don't look stupid since they know nothing about LG. The problem is that they are really pushing you to increase your MRC (Monthly Recurring Revenue). So they want things like Mobile Protection Pack and they encourage you to add a line or buy marked up accessories. It doesn't matter which phone you buy. They spend very little time teaching employees about a Snapdragon 800 and lots of time about the 5 key behaviors of sales. I just happen to be a hardcore phone enthusiast so would be able to talk with customers about every phone. So this is the real reason behind another terrible LG launch. Like the G Pro. At&t only cares about phones that will bring in more customers so they can increase sales, like iPhones. plus people who buy iPhones tend to buy more accessories and have multiple cases. And people like us tend to shop online and only buy store accessories when we're desperate and are waiting for our case from Amazon to arrive. So there you have it guys.
I agree.
