I've just bought motorola flipout. I am from slovakia and I noticed it looks diferent than on youtube is showed. I don't have the text motoblur on my battery case. Is there a chance that for the Slovakia is flipout without motoblur? Is there any chance to get motoblur? And how do you solved the problem with accelerometr in game like labirinth? And what application is good for having a better battery life?

Is motoblur really that bad? I got my flipout in Taiwan so I got it without motoblur so I havent had a chance to try it.
I've been reading around and it seems like it takes up a lot of space (which I already don't have much left after installing some apps... 15mb left..) That it uses ressources etc..
Could someone elaborate more on why motoblur sucks? and what is good about it?

Androot roots and unroots so no you wont just unroot.

I got a little probleme i have a french orange Motorola Flipout, and after the update, my keyborad is in qwerty, any ideas how to turn it back in azerty ? (i have order another flipout, may be i can use it to get the keyboard config ? or is there an other way ?)

Hi,
with another phone it should be no problem. You only have to copy the files from /system/usr/keychars. You could also edit the keychar file with an hex editor (there are also some tutorials in these and other forums)

Yes, but in Italy it works only on UMTS network if I switch to 2g, I have only emergency calls (tested with TIM)

after I flashed U3_01.14.2 rom, I found using *#*#4636#*#*->battery history->partial wake usage, Android system took partial wake lock for 6h after phone unplugged for 10hours. However, in CPU usage, Android system seems to be normal.
My phone last for about 10 hours after flashing of new ROM. No mobile data, no wifi, no bluetooth, no GPS/network location, no phone call, no sms, 2G only, good signal strength.

i also wanted the RUTEM_U3_01.14.2 romwithout Blur for my flipper but then i got ****ed. as i live in Italy the U3_01.14.2 rom comes without the GSM bands needed in here.
So i tried the RUTEM_U3_00.28.11 which is made for Italy and i also updated to 01.19.2 Blur but this rom is crap.
Finaly my Flipper works now with the RUTEM_U3_00.28.11 (Update RUTEM_U3_01.19.2) for UK.
I'm trying to deblur my Atnt US rom, but i'm in deep water here, don't know what i'm doing ^_^

I'm experiencing exactly the same problem! Very similar settings to yours.
Bought this phone now and want to get rid of motoblur too.
Battery is going low too fast ! with no-frills I lowered min cpu speed and removed all blur widgets in the meantime.

You can back up your current ROM with Flipout Recovery
..but first you have to root your Flipout, Universal Androot works just fine.. SuperOneClick didn't work for me

I have recently bought the HTC Touch 3g (codename Jade) as I used to have the HTC touch and I wanted inbuilt GPS and the 3G speed internet. I bought a second hand phone off ebay and while all the features work fine, I have noticed that it doesnt pick up a 3g connection! It connects to the net but only using GPRS and/or EDGE which is the same as my old phone, the same old slow speed!! I took it to my local ORANGE UK shop where some dumb blonde pressed a few buttons on it and told me it was the phones fault.
Please help! I don't really want to take her word for it.
Any help would be really really appreciated!!

Yeah I have checked but I dont think it is. I have already flashed it with WM6.5. I checked the CPU and it is all correct.
Is it possible that if this is a hardware error then JUST THE 3G part doesnt work?

In WM 6.1 there are options to deactivate 3G (Settings/Phone/Band and Settings/Advanced Settings/HSDPA - all translated from German). Probably in WM 6.5 there is something similar and perhaps not activated.
I do not think that only 3G-hardware does not work without any other problems.
Do you think if I took it to a hardware shop they would be able to confirm? I flashed it back to original rom last night and its still no use. Checked the registry settings too. I saw the H logo for about 2 seconds last night. I am in a 3g area. Its super annoying! I spent £160 on this phone on ebay and the bloody woman refuses to return the item!!!!

I think this is an option, I have no other idea.
After doing a Hard Flash for the first time from 1.43 to 148 and rebooting my HD2. Within several minutes my reception speed would change from 3G to GPRS and back again while on the go, this has never happen before and was wondering is there a way to have consistent 3G speed/reception or was there a fault during my flash?
Any suggestions or help would most helpful.
HD2 on T-Mobile UK.

Did you flash with SSPL / Gold card or with the HDSPL in-tacked?
EITHER WAY:
Press Phone Key>Options>GSM/UMTS Services:
Here select Band....then, "Get Settings"
The first tab should say GSM. Drop down menu option you want is WCDMA. This will force 3G all the time. However I don't recommend this setting as this will consume more battery.
Leaving it in 2G saves more battery and voice quality doesn't change....

maybe you flashed the radio part of the rom also, when you flash from 1.43 to 1.48?. im not sure, but you should check out this htc update, and try it. its a replacement for the radio portion of your rom only, and maybe fixing your problems. my singnal strengh has stoped to swing between full and no bars, and i have full bars most of the time, with this update.

Stock Roms include the Radio so if there was a change between one stock and the other then a change will occur...
There is nothing wrong with the radio band switching automatically though so unless you have bad reception, everything should be fine.

I have installed Swiftdroid 2.0 M4 on my GT540, everything works well excepted the 3G connection.
I tried to add my APN manually but it does not work. My provider is ORANGE France.
Does somebody have a solution ?

try extracting the apn settings from joe's rom and adb push it into M4 then goto the apn and reset the settings that might work because i have no problems with 3g

When I was in 2.1 ROM I used to have a 3G icon in the status bar, but now there is a "H", so I have a 3G connection isn't it ?

I would welcome such an update. About two days before I left the US for Belfast, the 3G icon disappeared. Now all I see in Belfast is an "R" above the 3-4 bars, which I assume is "roaming?" I had an AT&T SIM while in the US, and a Vodafone one in now - no change. I was using Mur4ik's M4 ROM, then reflashed through Fastboot to Joe Stone's 2.3.2 clean gingerbread. No difference noted. Suggestions?

Hi all i got a defy green lense and having signal problems.
I have been using cm7 and now cm7.2 since using non stock roms my signal has been playing up majorly.
Sometimes cant get a signal other times i'll get a signal but only hold for a while
Most annoying the signal "unlocks" when the screen locks and then takes ages to lock back in again.
3g problems too.
I have tried all the basebands and different sim cards and networks but still the same (ok when i put into another phone).
I have checked inside the phone (had to replace ear piece again) and nothing is broken or dirty.
i did read somewhere that it could be the radio files on the phone but i thought baseband swithcer did this?
Any help would be great as its getting annoying now also i noticed wifi locks out sometimes too when screen in locked?

I was facing a network issue too. I had to switch my baseband to "China MEE 810/2100" as i use VODAFONE IN
see with your network provider if you have set the correct baseband for your area
I've done all that and it has the same problem on any network and Sim.

i went to sleep last night and everything was fine
woke up this morning and had no data and my defy says Emergencies calls only.
i tried putting my Sim into a g2 and works perfect. tried resetting the defy and changing the base band and nothing... only one that lets me make calls and gives me 2g is Australia base band. i even flashed a fresh sbf and im still having the same issues.
if anyone out there knows how to fix this issue please let me know i really need my 3g back.

I'm not too worried about the 3g it's more the annoyance of the signal cutting in and out.
Is there a way can change the radio files on the phone without using Baseband switcher so I know it's actually changed then and not looking at lots of files?

Visit the below mentioned link and use baseband switcher tool and try switching between US T-Mobile 3.4.2-107-4 @ 850/1700/2100MHz
or

Also make sure that your phone is not in Airplane mode from Settings
Use the steps and share the results!
Tried the baseband already, put stock rom on and the signal is better nopt switching on and off so why does this happen on cm7 etc?
Just an update on this...
Flashed phone to cee deblur stock rom and signal was OK so worked out it must be a software rather than hardware issue.
So using the PC method I flashed the phone 3 times and wiped all the data each time.
After that the signal was still OK so I install 2ndinst and loaded cm9 cm9 kernel and gapps. Wiped data and the phone has been fine apart from 2 lock ups. I'm getting 3g and the signal is not being lost. After installing cm9 I also installed rom updater ,after 1st reboot it updated Android and now my camera green lenses works too not 100% quality but that's what my dslr is for! So for people getting the signal being lost abd no 3g problem try a stock rom a few times and wiping phone then custom rom worked for me!

Im using WajkIUI™ ROM based on MiuiAndroid 2.3.7 (GB) on Defy+.

I have the same problem. There is no signal in underground or even in elevator! I checked it with cm7 and whiterabbit. I think it doesn't depend on rom. But I believe it's software problem.
Problem in Base Bands
I have problems when I switch to 850-1900 frequencies, the ones that works in America, Argentina.
I tried everything, differents roms, stock roms for Arg carrries. APN are correct, Baseband selector for Defy is correct, set to Americas, argentina,
I bough this phone from ebay, it seems to have been designed for UK Ireland according to motorola support, I haven't reached the UK support because they're currently closed.
When I am in 900-2100 Bands the phone works perfect EXCEPT for 3G, H Connections that don't work at all.
Is it possible that this phone has a different hardware ? I read that it may can be solved with a new Base Band for America but how do I go with this?

Hey mates,
at the moment i'm in a corner of New Zealand ( :laugh: ) where i thought that there would be no data reception. I can make only phone calls. But Data is working i know that cause i used it on other places like Auckland. The interesting thing is following:
After some time (tyween ROM) my HD2 started making random restarts, so i decided to reflash my HD2 from the beginning. So if flashed back to the original Stock ROM to make a clean flash for the tytung ROM afterwards. Suddeny i had good 3g Data reception. Then i flashed the tytung ROM and again i had no data reception
So it seems there must be something with Anroid ?!
Any ideas or solutions? Anybody recognised the same
check teh apns, , i always have non working data when i install any android rom, , it seems teh defaults mess with each other. I have to delete all but two (one data one mms) and tweak the mms one to get full data/mms functionality. Ive never yet had an android rom that works out of the box for mms, and most dont work for data either (though some do, , but data only, they NEVER work for mms)
Just checked the APN settings, deleted them and configured them new as shown here under the point internet. But also before i deleted them they were correct.
It is still not working. It would also amaze me if this would help.
Cause as i said before. For example in Auckland or other cities i had no problem.
Also no in Germany. Now i am in a rural area. Never had any problems like this before.
Maybe i should try another Radio Rom??!
