Flipout ROM - Flipout and Charm General

anyone happen to have ATT factory rom ?

+1, I could really use a factory Rom as well.

ATT rom
me too me too

I know this is bumping a dead thread, but i had the unpleasant experience of frying my Flipout's bootloader, and having to sign up for 2 different forums just for this one link. I figure i'll post it here, for future reference.
Can't post external links just yet (rather new member), so i've attached it.
It's got the latest version of Motoblur, and your can repack it if you don't want it. You'll have to rename it to something shorter, as RSD Lite doesn't like the length of the file name.

How confusing is it round here?

Sorry, this is not really a serious dig but I feel I should make you all aware (tounge in cheek) how bloody confusing everything is around here.
I spent the last 12 hours searching for all the info required to update an athena that'll be arriving on my door step some time today but I'm still no closer than I was after my first 30 mins searching.
I've found 2 different unlockers but can't find anything about which is required or best. Just loads of posts from people bricking their devices.
I've chosen which ROM I want to go for but it does not include the radio.
I've just found the thread containing radio 1.50 but this wasn't sticky'd or anywhere near the top of the search results.
What order do I do everything in? The ROM thread says radio first but is this before or after unlocking?
I'm sure I'll suss all this out no problem once my device is in hand but why can't everything be done in one hit (unlock, radio & ROM) like every other rom I've used. And a nice set of instructions as you go.
I appreaciate some radio's work better for some and not others but the ROM "recommends" 1.50 so why not include it? Ditto for the unlock.
Please don't take this the wrong way I'm just worried how other people may find it round here. I'm not a novice. I've had just about every HTC device going over the last 6 years, all have been unlocked, flashed with different radios and roms and with each one you'll find all you need to know in one place (usually in a read me.txt of each rom or stickied at the top of the forum) but I don't ever remember being so confused as I am now and if I'm confused then god knows what a newbe would make of it all.
This is the Unlocker you want to use first:
Just backup your data, take some time, fully charge your device, take out the SD Card an follow the instructions:
(Turn off all energy save settings on your computer)
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Athena/Unlocker/AthenaUnlocker.zip
This is the newest version of the Black Touch Rom:
http://athenaproject.logontek.com/AP3.0Final/AP Dual 3.0.rar
An here are the Addons (optional):
http://athenaproject.logontek.com/AP3.0Final/AP Dual 3.0 ADDONS.rar
Finally update your Radio:
http://rapidshare.com/files/52469650/Radio_version_1.50.00.00.zip
worth mentioning that the radio upgrade hard resets your device so install your addons and stuff after you've done it.
In a nutshell though what he said.
Just check if your device is x7501 or x7500 as there were two unlockers previously.
If I remember correctly this is all explained in first post of unlocker thread. (its a while since I checked)
I agree that things are widely scattered here, but after keeping up on daily posts in the Athena sub-forums for a while it all becomes clear. As mud on some days... (grin).
Thanks mojo, I had those exact files unzipped and ready to go.
Like I said guys, it's not me I'm worried about I wasn't asking for help as such... its those newb's.
Anyway, don't take it the wrong way was just a bit of constructive critisisum.
P.S. Dam postie didn't show after all that
Thanks guys.
This post was the exact thing I was looking for. I'm going to flash my Advantage right now!!!!!!
OK I did it! Was a little touch and go there for a few minutes, but I got it. Damn I was scared for a few minutes, thought I f'ed up a expensive PPC.
Congratulations cib911.
I've literally just got it off the post man, opened the box and started modding
All good so far, unlocked, 1.50 radio and AP Dual ROM.
Just gotta get used to this amazing screen... humm now which dpi is best???
I keep mine on 96 all the time.
I suggest such help should be definitely moved to wiki.

As the whole point of a wiki is that anyone can edit and add to it, feel free to go ahead and do just that.

Actually, I also couldn't find the stuff that I need in the wiki. Don't get me wrong guys, I came from the Atom group. Wiki and everything is considerably better. I wish there's something we can do to make it better. Frankly, we are only a few among all PPC users so technically, it should be easier to put some order into things. Thanks!

I'm going to enjoy my newly acquired device as it is for sometime before I upgrade to PK ROM. Otherwise, I have no basis for comparison. Untill now, I've only got wktask and realVGA installed.
Anyway, is there any speed difference between the different version of PK ROM?
I'd need some time to digest all the posts in this forum before making this big decision. Don't want to brick my darling.
Looking at the post earlier posted, I just downloaded and was about to push began, and now I have to figure out do I have the right unlocker for my device. I have the Unlocked x7501 Advantage!
I downloaded the unlocker from the earlier post....am I good?
I was just about to begin!
Let me add to this....I want to keep my same radio from the HTC original ROM....Do I need to do steps 2 and 3 in the unlocking process or can I skip that?
Thanks Dannyboy! I needed this thread!
And thank you mojo2000, that was good order and clarity! I cant wait to flash!
concerning my post about the missing file in rapidshare, it's now up and working.

new to android and the nexus

hi.
im new to android and i've got the Nexus One...
here is what i allready did:
unlocked the bootloader.
applied SU.
updated to ere27 (not the radio)
now i just cant understand yet many things...
1. when i downloaded the update of ere27 (from modaco as i remember) why didnt it came with the radio update?
2. what does the radio update do?
3. ive seen another update for ere36b, whats new there?
4. what is RA recovery or something like that?
5. why i see different roms like cg 5 and so on? what do they add?
6. if i want a custom rom, will it wipe all the data?
7. what does the nandroid backup saves? and where is it saved? (so i will copy it just in case to my pc)
8. if i install different rom, from the desire for example, can i go back and somehow restore everything like all my apps and data and settings like wallpapers and homescreens?
9. will it be possible in the future to grab the sense ui to the standard rom and other things?
im sorry for those noob questions but can you please help me out guys?
You really shouldn't be playing around with rooting your phone and flashing if you don't know the answers to these VERY basic questions you're asking. Recipe for a brick, if you ask me.
Anyway... SEARCH about rooting and the benefits/disadvantages to custom ROMs. I suggest searching in this forum, as well as the Dream forum, as there are numerous stickies there that will shed light on what you're asking.
Sent you a pm, thread closed.

Request- Nandroid or image of /system please

Hi folks,
I'm from the GSM Hero dev scene, and I've been looking for a dump of the Eris with final, official 2.1 ROM on it. I can't find one, and have tried unsuccessfully to patch the old RUU from december using the OTA, but I've spent far too long on this part of the process.
So, I ask if anyone would be so kind to point me in the direction of a nandroid dump of the new ROM, or a form of RUU image for the ROM. I have looked around here for a bit to no avail, so I was asking in the hope someone had one to hand, or would be willing to out their way to make one.
As it will be a large file, anyone who would be so kind to make one (if it doesn't yet exist) would be able to upload it to our FTP server (VillainROM.co.uk) if needed.
Regards,
Pulser (admin of VillainROM)

Requesting for stock rom/first nanroid file for desire Z in singapore.

i've recently rooted my desire z and apparently i've skipped the part of backing up my stock rom before i've used the cyanogenmod 6.1.1 rom . my phone is now acting like a piece of junk as the home, menu , back and search buttons isn't working and my keyboard isn't functioning as how it is suppose to be.
im hoping that someone can give me a link or upload the stock rom for the desire Z or give me any suggestions on how i can fix this problem.
and does the region for the stock rom affects the phone?
carrier : starhub.
region : south east asia(singapore)
thanks in advance.
Posting your current carrier would help alot in getting you the correct stock rom. As far as I know, you have to reload the exact rom for it to boot correctly? Might be wrong on that but wouldn't hurt to know that information.
Regards.
yes.
i was thinking of putting in another rom and running it to overwrite this current rom.
don't really know if i should do that or not.
edited first post with carrier info.
Hey,
I did a quick look around on these forums and all I could find was this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=860430
Try directing your questions there and perhaps you will be able to find the rom you are looking for. Also, if you are already root with S-OFF, you could always try another custom rom. I just installed Virtuous v.1.0.1 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=837042) and am having no issues at all. It also looks like it has multiple language support, so you can choose what you would like to set it as.
Good luck!

What rom links are working???

Hi all
So like a few others I love the HD2... I keep it charged and in my Bergan as an emergency phone/GPS when out in the mountains etc.. And even play the odd game or two to save battery on my primary phone...
But what I would like to do if play around with WM/ANdroid roms to find ones that really fit my needs... Troubleis finding a WORKING download link. Thats where this thread comes in..
Could people post the links they have for WORKING DOWNLOADS??? would be a big help. and if I can find enough interest and downloads I will even download and host them ALL in one location so everyone can find them quickly etc.. If a dev has them still please pm me and will download and host them for you.
hoping for a positive response
regards
Lohtse
CrossbowHD2 1.0 is a WM6.1 ROM that still has working links: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1071368
The mirrored link is still active as of 06/27/2019
There is a Mediafire link with stock HTC cab files. It still works as of 06/27/2019.
Here it is: https://www.mediafire.com/?qb8yp58ctlhu8
That's the only one I could find that still has active download links.
The problem is, most files for WM were stored on Rapidshare(down since 2014), D-h.st(down since ~2016?), 4pda.ru(they still exist, but they cleaned house a few years ago, and got rid of many files that didn't have much traffic), and Megaupload has been gone since 2012 now.
Then we have the personal sites from many of the devs, since those devs no longer develop for WM, those sites(and files stored on them) have been taken down.
So, the original files, and their mirrors are gone, sadly, most of the ROM's have been lost forever. It's pretty bad that we have spectacularly failed to preserve a part of our digital history like this(a minor part, but still a part nonetheless.)

I have been playing around with my old HD 2 in the last few days and I really appreciate these ROMs. Thanks so much, I had been fed up as so many of the old links had gone and I had tidied up my hard drives over the years and got rid of so many ROMs. Glad to see you had the sense to keep them.
Cheers

Thanks man. You just created a good software source for this old but legend phone. I play with mine every now and then. It feels tiny in hands comparing to my nexus 6 .
I remember on 2011 i went to a mobile accessories shop in egypt to get a cover for this phone , all the guys who saw it astonished saying : what is this GIANT phone ! .
hi i'm new here
hi, I literally just began here but I respect this thread, my sister just gave me an htc hd2 that says with htc sense on the back cover, when I first booted it up surprisingly she says someone "unlocked her phone from the sim for her, but there was way more to that story, this htc hd2 was rooted, but unfortunately the os it was running was very outdated and I couldn't even access the marketplace or let alone the browser apk was missing and so began the long days and nights attempting to update the os to something I can play my favorite mobile game avabel with , but then I somehow ended up removing the nand android rom and then eventually I got stuck withy nothing bu.t clockwork mod recovery and magldr, with most of the links busted around like almost the entire internet I thought it was high time I introduce myself to xda, now I'll just say, i'm pretty sure I don't know what I am getting into or what I am doing, but I've been awake 3 days straight next to a coffee table, and since then, I was able to get twrp 2.2.0 installed, clk is installed, all that's missing is a custom rom, unfortunately it seems I am like a decade late to the party and there's a superpandemic outside, and despite all that, this hd2 may just walk...yet again. Seriously though does anyone know of any Actual working links as of 2020 june? preferably any without malware but if I have to sacrifice windows might be worth it, because at this point, i'm feeling all in, I really want to see this phone operate like normal again with twrp and clk, seems extremely beneficial. I really like the idea someone has posted this because it definitely needs a second thought , I see so many people invested time and hard work into this, even on GitHub there are still remains of hundreds of lines of code, and I'm personally just really curious and interested of the idea, Can a decade old phone still be rooted and working? if not on a new rom maybe an old one might still function? most of the rom links have been defunct and some even have some pretty nasty malware, seriously all these viruses is really dangerous, not mention annoying, but that's common know how. I found some files, I might try and create a spot somewhere that will hopefully preserve itself where people can at least install the toolkit and the nbh/nbr/ruu file that got me to twrp, I feel a bit closer now than I did being stuck with just clockwork mod, my two biggest roadblocks right now are the fact that cyanogen mod no longer has their old roms functional and I don't know what to do to properly setup and install a custom rom other than navigating the recovery to install the zip file it sits in but every time I try to do so twrp replies back checking the md5 file, no file found, the line immediately after that just says error etc. which makes me wonder, is it just me? or is this md5 error something deeper? or am I just downloading the wrong stuff, some installations seemed to almost work because instead of that error it replies back what phone the rom was actually intended for. I believe from those statistics and digging that htc hd2 may have run out of working rom links that actually work or my phone has a program or some left over data lodged in the filesystem somewhere ,that is preventing me from installing properly, it's driving me a bit bananas, but I feel like there is something more to this than I thought, most youtube videos just show someone either using twrp to flash the zip or the adb to flash twrp itself (unrelated) but the main struggle is what is this md5 check? and how do I fix it? or is the rom just supposed to automatically run? but yet again, unfortunately I canot find any working links because I don't understand if my phone is just malfunctioning due to something left unchecked?(possible sd card corruption?) or if these links I've downloaded from aren't including good data I can use to load and use the rom. any help with working rom links would truly be appreciated, and with much gratitude I leave this post here, my apologies for the long message by the way, been writing a lot of school papers today,

Hi, If I remember clearly, TWRP has a settings page where you can enable "Check for MD5" or something like that.
Just uncheck/disable that, and try flashing a rom.
Admins please sticky this thread so it dont get lost forever. Thank you.
Hey guys, did anyone got NexusHD2-ICS-CM9-HWA_V3.0b.zip ?
Or perhaps NexusHD2-KitKat-CM11.0_V4.7.zip ?
Very sad that developers and forum mods aren´t interested in archiving awesome modding history.
There´s no working download link for any of those CM rom´s avaiable and seems like almost all source code for hd2 went away aswell.
Tytung has 3 repositories online, it´s missing almost everything needed to build a rom + if i was able to successfully build, it probably would still have no aroma installer for the very important steps to set up data2ext or the like.
With my little knowledge, this is definitely too complex at the moment.
