Requesting for stock rom/first nanroid file for desire Z in singapore. - G2 and Desire Z General

i've recently rooted my desire z and apparently i've skipped the part of backing up my stock rom before i've used the cyanogenmod 6.1.1 rom . my phone is now acting like a piece of junk as the home, menu , back and search buttons isn't working and my keyboard isn't functioning as how it is suppose to be.
im hoping that someone can give me a link or upload the stock rom for the desire Z or give me any suggestions on how i can fix this problem.
and does the region for the stock rom affects the phone?
carrier : starhub.
region : south east asia(singapore)
thanks in advance.

Posting your current carrier would help alot in getting you the correct stock rom. As far as I know, you have to reload the exact rom for it to boot correctly? Might be wrong on that but wouldn't hurt to know that information.
Regards.

yes.
i was thinking of putting in another rom and running it to overwrite this current rom.
don't really know if i should do that or not.
edited first post with carrier info.

Hey,
I did a quick look around on these forums and all I could find was this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=860430
Try directing your questions there and perhaps you will be able to find the rom you are looking for. Also, if you are already root with S-OFF, you could always try another custom rom. I just installed Virtuous v.1.0.1 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=837042) and am having no issues at all. It also looks like it has multiple language support, so you can choose what you would like to set it as.
Good luck!

Need a little Clarifiction

Hi all,
I was wondering for a while now, I followed the Unlckr guide on how to root my HTC Hero, but I didn't really get when the rooting stopped and the cooked ROM began.
So, breaking it down: -
What is the Cyanogen Recovery Image for? Is that just so we can enable the custom ROMs?
Putting in the new ROM, does that then mean my phone is then rooted? If I put in another Stock ROM (as I still haven't found a Donut update for Hero anywhere yet), will it be unrooted again?
What does Rooted mean anyway?
Many thanks if you can answer any or all these questions, I'm eager to know what I actually did
Take it no one knows or cares to clarify?
You might have better luck if you post this in the Q&A section. However, I reckon you'll find the answers you're looking for if you use the search.

1>How to create Goldcard?
2>How to flash roms with goldcard?
STEP 1 > Go to www.shipped-roms.com and download the rom relevant to your area which you want to flash. Mind this a Uk rom cant be flashed on a phone with Indian Rom i.e Rom from different areas can not be swapped until unless it is rooted make sure to download ROM from your region.
Edit 1: In case you have already rooted your phone and want to get adventurous you can download custom ROMs or Any ROM for your device you can flash any (Wildfire)ROM.
STEP 2 Download HTC Sync™ 3.0.5387 if you dont already have it. Just enter the serial no. which can be found on wildfire Box box and install it on the PC/Laptop you want to sync your phone data with.
STEP 3 After installation connect your PC and Phone with provided USB cable and on the prompt/notification on your phone select HTC sync.
Now very important :: Sync your phone and Backup your data, messages, mails and contacts. You can use backup apps from the market too.
NOW FLASHING TIMESTEP 4 Its Advisable to keep your phone more than 50% charged. Now run the RUU_*_#.exe ie rom file you had downloaded in STEP 1.
STEP 5 Just Follow the on screen instructions on your PC/Laptop.
TAKE CARE:: During the flashing
>>>do not disconnect the USB cable.
>>>The phone will enter the boot-loader mode during this time.
The whole process will take around 10 minutes.
UPDATE: All those who want to Unroot or remove Root just Flash Official RUU***.exe
Have Fun.
Thank you so much, I will use it later.
One question for step 1.: shipped-roms.com are not adding new ROMs since 20. July 2010. Are there any other sources for new ROMs?

Sadly there is no such single source for download since Shipped-roms stopped uploading new roms.. we will Just have to post the links here as and when we find/extract new roms.. presently i dont have a ROM different from Shipped-roms as and when i have one i will start a separate relevant thread for the collection of roms..where we all can post links to our uploaded roms
its nice to see you putting so much effort in the buzz forum here!

Thank you very much for the guide, it realy sounds very simple!
I am a total newbie, never had a smartphone before, never had to deal with ROMs, etc, and I am thinking of getting a Wildfire next week, and if flashing ROMs is done this way, it won't be such a difficult thing to do.
Just a question: Is Wildfire's Bootloader locked or unlocked?
Thank you.

Thank you and welcome we are all newbies at least once in our lives .. Ok now i did not get your question's intention very well but you can access your bootloader i.e you can go to bootloader mode of your phone but you can not flash unsigned ROMs ie custom roms or original roms from another region.. That will be done once the phone is rooted.. Many people including me (though i am not very good at it still i am trying ) are working towards it.. we hope to get it soon then a lot of developments and hacks can be done for this device..

Sorry if I wasn't very exact in my words. I meant exactly what you answered:
If you are able to Flash whatever ROM you want, like Desire/Nexus One users do, but Milestone (for example) users cannot, even though their smartphone is rooted, the Bootloader is Locked.
So from what I understand, when Wildfire gets finally rooted we will be able to Flash whatever unsigned ROM we want.
Keep up the good work and hope you root the phone soon!
Thank you Warrior for this write-up!
I've got some experience in flashing ROMs on a WinMO Phone but a total n00b with Android Phones...
Small question for you if you don't mind...
When looking at the 'What is your firmware' post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=722988), I notice I have exactly the same firmware than the Original Poster although he is from Germany and I'm from Belgium. Others with the same firmware were from Denmark and France.

On my Phone, I can choose between Dutch, French and English as language for the operating system. I guess our German friend will have a German language option on his Phone and the Danish guy will probably have yet another option (Danish). Are all these different languages contained in the ROM itself??
Can we all use the same ROM file from Shipped-ROMs.com?
The only ROM on shipped-ROMs that completely corresponds to the version numbers I see on my phone is this one:
RUU_Buzz_HTC_WWE_1.14.405.2_R_Radio_13.45.55.24_3.35.15.31_release_130814_signed.exe

How would I recover the Dutch and French language options if I would ever need to install this WWE ROM??
Thanks for any clarification!
Sylvain
I'm asking the same question as @Sylle.
I have the same firmware, software, etc. numbers as he does. I've bought my Wildfire from Vodafone Romania (also locked on this network - this is the reason I want to change the ROM, until a rooting method is discovered) and it has the locale ROM (I'm guessing Central - Eastern Europe or something...it also has Polish, Czech and so on).
I'm goind to put the WWE ROM (RUU_Buzz_HTC_WWE_1.14.405.2_R_Radio_13.45.55.24_3. 35.15.31_release_130814_signed.exe) but i would like to know if there's any way to extract the current ROM? Or to make a backup of it, in case I ever need it later..
Many thanks for this topic; definitely going on my "subscribed to" list.
I am a n00b to ROM flashing, but not to *nix systems; anxiously awaiting root, at which point this info is going to come in handy.
I just wondered whether anybody knows if HTCFlasher (the Linux Flash software) works with the Wildfire?

Hey dude all you answers one by one :: First things first i am myself new to android flashing but i was pretty good on windows devices not just flashing but a lot of other stuff too..
ALL ANSWERS ARE TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE EVERYONE SHOULD FEEL FREE TO CORRECT ME IN CASE I AM WRONG::
About language packs inside the rom ::
There are no extra language packs inside ROM other than what you can see.. what i mean is there is no hidden language pack that can be somehow hacked and enabled.

I see that you have found a ROM that corresponds to your ROM..so you can very well go ahead and flash it but to get back to your Original ROM you have to wait till the ROM you Presently have is posted somewhere ..or rooting is done..hence many options will be open to us..
ALSO UR ROM CANT BE BACKED UP AS OF NOW but once rooting is done you can back it up using NANDROID..
I can not try Rooting this as i gifted this phone to my younger BRO and i just have 3 more days to play with it.. i recently have bought HD2 and left my JOB for my Furthur studies so can not spend like i used to earlier .. i am saying this coz it makes me sad as other DEV's are neglecting wildfire for other high end devices and i am not able to help much still i am trying my best..
A quick request: would it be possible to write a similar n00b guide for those of us on Linux (perhaps Ubuntu specific)?

Hey would love to do that i already have UBUNTU 10.04 on my laptop but never bothered trying flashing on it .. I think since Android is Linux too so it should be easier to root and flash on Linux OS in this case Ubuntu...
BTW i remember something about HTC Flasher..Even more info and discusssion HERE so if you like you can do a bit of your own research too..also there is a thread for Rooting Aria on Ubuntu butfor this to be done on Wildfire we need unrevoked to work on our Wildfire first .. sorry mate this month is my Exam so i am devoting a little less time here in forums..

Hi, thanks for the reply (and good luck with your exams!)
One of the things about being new to this scene (I've quite a lot of programming experience) is the lack of a centralized source for information on existing devices. Getting your head around the terminology can be tough. Furthermore, while there are device specific roots, they rarely give insight into the technical process that is going on behind the scenes. I'd really like to gain some insight into the methods people go through when developing a rooting technique.
For instance, say a kernel level exploit is acquired and you obtained a root shell; what is the process for installing the su binary? (what changes are necessary and, because it's a ROM, where would the binary live?)
A lower level resource that started from scratch explaining the boot process, file structure, signing and verification procedure would be ideal, but I haven't yet found one.
(P.S. not necessarily requesting this, just voicing that this seems to be an area that is uncatered for)
Thanks again for the guide.

Hello Phunctionist!
I've been reading a bit more about the subject and I would like you to check something out so that I can confirm my suspicion...
You can change/add more locale (which determines the language of your Android OS) by installing the application 'localeswitch'.
However this doesn't add text input prediction for that language. I have the impression this is included in your keyboard software (Input Method extension - IME) on an android phone.
As we both have the same firmware, i'm wondering if we have the same input settings available for the keyboard as I also have options for Polish and Czech.
Amongst others does your keyboard for example allows you text prediction for
- Dutch (Nederlands): mine does
- French (français): mine does
- Croatian (Hrvatski): Mine does NOT
Hope your answers will bring me some clarification...
Thanks in advance!

What is the simfree spanish rom?
Anyone know what rom should I use for a SimFree Spanish HTC Wildfire
I need another ROM for my Wildfire because it has Chinese language options that I think they are Hongkong and Taiwan. I downloaded this file
RUU_Buzz_HTC_FRA_Bouygues_1.23.483.2_Radio_13.45.55.24_3.35.15.31_release_140524_signed.exe
and tried flashing this ROM many time but got some errors. At first it was very hard for my phone to connect PC, when it's done the Updater told me the ROM is invalid for my phone.. So which ROM I must download and do I need to hack root my phone?

ROMs are locked to locations.
Asia has their own rom so you must download the Asia rom.
Not sure if it will fix your problem.

[Q] Back 2 Da Basic

OK, thanks to everyone here I finally flashed my HD2 and I liked it a lot. I tried the Energy Rom and Core Cell Rom and they both worked great and have there advantages. But I have a new question now. I want to change my phone back to stock, which stock rom should I download? And is the installlation process the same as flashing the phone with a custom rom?
hmmm...
im assumin you have a tmous HD2. if so you can find the original tmobile rom on their website. just search for hd2 software update on the search portion. same as here, you can find it. just gotta look and not ask a question when you can find it yourself. also i think this question doesnt belong under this thread mayb under HD2 general..
http://support.t-mobile.com/doc/tm54430.xml thats helpful... use it to flash back..
ok, thanks for the help. but i have a question and something else as well. I clicked on the link and read over everything it says:
NOTE: The software update is only designed to update the ROM version from 2.10.531.1 and 2.13.531.1 to 3.14.531.1. If at any point the software was changed from 2.10.531.1 or 2.13.531.1 by flashing to unsupported software, sometimes called rooting or hacking, then we strongly recommend you do not perform this update, as it was not designed to update unsupported software.
It seems like their saying don't use this update if I flashed another rom besides the stock rom which it came with. So exactly what do I do from here? Not trying to sound slow or anything, but I want to becareful with these things. And besides I don't have a spare phone to use and would hate to brick this one up. Any help is appreciated.
I got my TMOUS HD2 yesterday and to go around customs, I asked if the seller could flash there nonbootable ROM, which I made (HTC Oboe XIP and no IMGFS to be sure it wouldn't boot ). When it arrived, I just flashed the 3.14 ROM without single errors and keeping HSPL2.
Do it, there won't be problems .
this thread came in time. today i got a message from tmobile indicating that there is a new update available. i wanna give it a shot and if i don't like it then I'm going to upgrade to the cell core v3 since i've been using v2 for a while

[Q] default Rom

Hi Guys,
I'm upgrading my Widfire to a desire in a couple of months and Wanted to give the Wildfire to my missus. However I don't want to give it to her with a custom Rom without any choice.
So I wondered if anyone has the default "Orange Rom" I can isntall so she can decide as this would be her first smart phone and I think sense would be easier for her to get on with.
I found this in development section but I can't post a question as I have to have posted 10 posts to be able to do so.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=906557
The one you linked is indeed the default Orange ROM, with just the upgraded HBOOT removed. (So that, you retain root, and, your missus can run Custom ROM's when she gets bored of the default Sense interface. )
You can go ahead and flash it without any issues. It'll function just like the Stock ROM.
Thanks alot bud!
Is this still the best placed to get the default ROM ???

Htc desire hd s-on ??

can you please help i got htc desire hd i would like to update over air the new FIRMWARE 2.3.5 ?
I have rooted my phone with aahk software all I did was just run the program NO custom firmware that's it and it unlocked my phone
can I update over air the firmware 2.3.5 I don't mind if loose the rooting
THANK YOU
OTA updates are dependent upon your network releasing them... so you'll have to wait, or perhaps contact your network to see if you can get an eta out of them. You also might have to get AAHK to 'return you to stock RUU' in order for the OTA to even kick in.
...however, since you've already used AAHK anyway, you have the option of flashing your '2.3.5' roms of different flavours, or even the 4.0.x ICS. Though bear in mind that flashing the latter would give you an early development rom that probably won't be as stable nor have the complete set of features as say... some of the more established gingerbread roms.
Were I in your shoes, I'd just flash the custom roms that will suit my individual needs, no rom is better overall... its literally 'horses for courses' in regards to what's currently released.
Just do your homework and read as much as you can in regards to the rom you want to choose, as well as the RADIO/RIL/Kernel you want to pair it up with.
The 'search' tool here in the forum is quite good for doing this, and the stickies... though not updated frequently, does have the important threads still linked.
Good luck and happy hunting. ^_~

Downloading an OTA can mess up your phone since you have rooted, so technically its S-OFF. In theory you could download the OTA and it MAY appear as available but hearing mixed replies on similar topics, the results vary from returning the phone to stock to seriously messing with it.
I'd do what the man above me suggested, browse through the dev section and stickies, use search and read as much as you can about custom ROM's. Some are seriously amazing and will give you more then any custom ROM can offer.
Good luck.
thanks
thank you guys for your advice
where can I get custom files for HTC desire HD t-mobile UK
also if anyone know how can I fix my GPS it takes long before I can get signal
that's why I wanted to upgrade the firmware IF I CAN FIX THE GPS I DON'T MIND STAYING ROOTED PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME
THANK YOU VERY MUCH
...you're supposed to do the research yourself.
However, since I'm in an ok mood, here are links to the roms you might want to flash.
BTW, assuming you ran the Advance Ace Hack Kit successfully, you're phone is now technically SIM unlocked... meaning you don't have to get 'custom files for HTC desire HD t-mobile UK' ...so all the ROMS i've linked below will work on your phone.
Note - General direction on how to flash these ROMS/RADIO/RIL/KERNEL:
download the ZIP to your SD
reboot your phone to recovery by shutting down, once its completely shutdown... press and hold vol-down and power, then choose RECOVERY on bootloader menu
choose 'install from SDCard'...
find the ZIP file of the rom and let it to its thing.
However, PLEASE READ the thread's first couple of post, and consult the support threads which the ROM links to in order to get a more detailed info on installing and confirguring the rom
Sense 3.5 ROMS:
RCMix3D 4.0 Runny
EREBUS XL3.5
Virtuous Affinity 1.48.0
Sense 3.0 ROMS:
Android Revolution HD 6.3.1
Beatmod FlyerDOM V2.0
RADIO & RIL thread
(YOU MUST FLASH THE RECOMMENDED RADIO FOR YOUR ROM, or at least the recommended one on the 1st post of the radio thread.
YOU MUST ALSO FLASH THE MATCHING RIL TO THE RADIO IF YOU'RE USING A SENSE ROM!
Kernels (flash the one that 'feels' ok in regards to your phone performance):
LORDMOD (latest is V5.0)
KLquicksall RCMix3D (Latest is V12, but most stable is V11.1v2)
...there'd be more, so search the forums for them... the above is the most popular ones.
For everything else, please consult this thread... or perhaps use the SEARCH function of the forum.
...I think that's enough spoonfeeding from me... =P
