T-mobile HD2 price released...hope Evo is priced lower - EVO 4G General

T-Mobile USA are offering their HD2 on an Even More plan for $199.99 ($250 online discount), or a contract-free Even More Plus plan for $449.99. Here's an article about it:
T-mobile HTC HD2
This is good news because I don't think the EVO will be priced higher than this phone. So far windows mobile phones are priced higher than android phones (coming the HTC hero phones and the touch pro2, or you can compare the samsung moment with the touch pro2)

I would LOVE a $450 price point. I heard someone talking $700-800, and I thought that was absolutely ridiculous. $450-550 sounds like the sweet spot.

That's actually not a bad price. The Nexus One w/o a contact is $529.00. So, by the time you get through your new contract discount and web special discount and mail in rebate it's in a very reasonable price bracket.

You hope the Evo is priced lower? I'm sure everyone wishes it would just be free, but it isn't realistic. The Evo is similar to an HD2 but with amped up camera, WiMAX capable, front facing cam, and of course android. Why would a far superior phone be priced lower? Would a supercharged v8 mustang be cheaper than the v6? Hells no.

I currently have a T-mobile plan.
I do not want to sign up for any plans.
My question is:
Is there any other way to get the phone only for less than $449.99 without signing up for any plans or service or change any plans? Of course Bing cashback does not work so I have eliminate that option.

i got mine today at T-Mobile store $199....now how do i port mu google contact to Hd2?

I guess I'm a lucky one

There's two people selling there Evo for $200 so I'm lucky question is should I wait for the 4 or buy it now
buy it outright that way you don't sign a 2 year contract. if you activate a phone that YOU own you don't sign a contract. It's month to month. PM me and let me know if the other one is for sale. I'll buy it now.

[Q] T-mobile rebate

i bought a HD2 last week and installed NAND Android on it.
It that gonna effect my rebate on t-mobile?
Yes, you now owe THEM the rebate money.
But seriously, no, it won't.

First off I see this is your first post so welcome to XDA even though I know you have probably been here for atleast a cople of days to weeks because you have sucessfully flashed a NAND Andriod ROM to your HD2. I would also like to comend you on doing your research and not starting a thread titled, "How do I put NAND Andriod on my HD2?". Also for being able to read instructions well I wish more could be like you here.
Just as the post above said no this will not effect your rebate in anyway even if you made a stupid mistake and sent the phone in for exchange witbout reverting it to stock. It still would not effect your rebate. The rebate is something you will get simple because you bought the phone brand new from T-Mobile.
Now for the bad part, to be honest with you this is XDA. You really should have asked this in the T-Mobile forums.
I thought Hd2 is discontinued? Where did you get one that still come with rebate?

They will only sell it for new customers, I've already called them to try and get one.
The only upgrade they offer is to the HD7.

[Q] Is it worth it?

I am in the us, currently on AT&T. Would it be worth it for me to buy an unlocked version of this phone?

Tough question. Booming development, quad core processor, 2 gb of RAM, 1280x768 screen res, sexy as hell, pure google w/ no ugly ass skin overlays. I would say no, it's totally not worth it for $300-$350 /sarcasm

Oh, well in that case, if you already have a plan, buy the phone unlocked and cut your sim card, or go to an AT&T store and ask for one.

The plan is really only worth it when you are buying a new phone too, as they reduce the price of the phone. Is there a carrier that would give me a cheaper price because i would already have a phone?

T-Mobile offers value plans that are cheaper but you have to buy all your phones at full price or bring your own. I've got 5 phones on this plan with unlimited everything for for 2 lines for $140 and the other 3 lines have 500 minutes each and unlimited text/data (free M2M/NW etc).
