Just got my HD2!!! - HD2 General

Just bought the HD2 a little while ago...its pretty nice. I just have to get used to the touch keyboard... had the HTC Touch Pro 2 and still love it, but the screen was just too glorious to pass up...lol

I currently have a T-mobile plan.
I do not want to sign up for any plans.
My question is:
Is there any other way to get the phone only for less than $449.99 without signing up for any plans or service or change any plans? Of course Bing cashback does not work so I have eliminate that option.

What will the subsidized price be for a HD2 on new contract?
I want this phone, and I decided I will get this, and if I don't like it then I'll trade for a nexus one.
I think I read somewhere that the RUMORED subsidized price for the HD2 will be
$199.99 on a 2-year contract new/upgrade WITH the data package.
$449.99 no contract

Almost positive your right on the non contract price. I believe you are correct as well on the subsidized price.
The 449 unsubsidized price is confirmed on the offical HD2 product page in the footnotes, and I've been hearing 199 or 180 as the subsidized price.
cheap as hell!!!

I was wondering if I have to buy the phone from tmobile only (non-contract for $449) or will we be able to buy it straight from HTC? the reason being that it wont be branded with all T-Mobile logos...it will be unlocked and I wont be forced to get a data plan from them for additional $30 (i think thats what the price is). Instead i can continue using my $9.99 plan (with internet2.voicestream.com APN) and save $20 every month?
Thanks for any info that one might have on this...

Partial upgrade eligibility?
Will this be on the partial upgrade list? The touch pro 2 is on there but im wondering if the hd2 will be added to it. If your not sure what im talking about here is the page.

That is cheap, which makes the choice even harder between the Nexus One and the HD2.
I know my plan options already for both devices, if I choose either:
Unlimited Min Even more Plan: $69.99
Unlimited Data and text: $30

Hello Everyone,
For the $449.00 , Can you just go in the t-mobile store, buy the phone, walk out. No plan, nothing else?
Thank you,
Monnie
Yeap, thats what it should be. You wont be able to do that until march 30th though.
Can you confirm this

I plan to switch from ATT to T-mobile Even More Plus for Families 750 Talk + Text + Web. I will buy the Phone unsubsidized.
I do not see any indication on the Web site that I can get the second one free, can you please point me in the right direction.

Cell Phone plan
Hi guys! Just a quick question.
Is it mandatory to buy a new phone when activating a plan like, let's say, for example t-mobile "even more plus"?
I mean, if I'm a new customer and already have a phone can I activate only that plan?
Thanks

no, thats the great thing about even more plus. you can just go in and activate a plan and thats it. plus its cheaper monthly cuz we dont have to subsidize the equipment.

Disappointing price. Opted me to upgrade with contract extension for $165. Even with $200 termination fee the phone will come out much cheaper than the non-contract price. Used Bing cash back also. Of course, if I was not eligible for upgrade I would've paid the non-contract price anyway
Lunch day?? Did i miss the picnic again?

I just picked mine up. WOW it is sooooo nice. I love this screen.
Agreeed... I'm in heaven coming from the G1 (and N1).
Im in love with my vibrant. Been on it for last 2 days since I got it for free at the samsung training.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
I got to the store an hour early, and it opened an hour late. ah!
Still I got it.
lol my store opened exactly 9 Am and i thought i was going to be the 2nd person to purchase but 1st person was just paying a bill with the machine and like 10 people behind me
My store open at 10., Im headed in to trade in my 6 day old HD2!!
Got mine at 9 a.m. Ba-da-bah-bah-bah (I'm lovin' it).
There were a couple of people waiting in cars outside. My store said they got about 20. What a great phone. Only thing missing for me is a notification light. But I'll get over it.

The only issue when ordering from Amazon would be if you have an unlimited data plan and want to keep it, there is no option to do so. I even called AT&T and was told that if I loose my unlimited data plan by mistake, that I will have to open a case....smh

Atrix available on Amazon for $150.
I was looking to get the Atrix and I called AT&T today and the Business Customer care said they could upgrade me early (March 7 is actual date). Can AT&T actually change this on their system so it shows Feb 22 so I can pay $150 through Amazon/Radio Shack?

If I'm not eligible for an upgrade - any way I can score one of these deals? Or - even better - without extending my contract?
Amazon Wireless is now down to $129.99 but they are backordered. I have a feeling they lowered the price in order to still maintain the pace of orders until stock comes back in. Kind of sucks because I wanted to try it in Tucson next week but oh well, I'll have it when I get back.
Paid $43 for mine
Was the only guy at Radio Shack this morning (Only Dork sez the wife). When they opened another guy walked in right behind me. Turns out they only had 1 and I got it for 149, and then they offered me $106 for my iPhone 3G, which I took, so in the end $43 bucks for a phone that beats the pants off my old 3G for performance...
I admit I don't know if $106 for a so-so condition 3G is good or not, but if I consider I don't have to try and sell it, etc... and it would have sat in my drawer where it would be forgotten. All in all a good deal to me,
just got mine for $99, confusing the sales rep
He ran the phone number, premier came up and it said the price was $100 for the phone or $400 for the dock and phone and I took the phone for $100 because I hadn't yet seen the tethering/hotspot fix info that came out earlier today.
The store said that the dock required the tethering deal which requiring giving up the unlimited data. My understanding is that is half correct: you don't need the tethering plan to have the dock but you need hotspot on the phone to make it work. I further understand that it is true that the tethering plan is not avaialble at any price with unlimited;
Has anyone found it yet at Costco who generally sweetens the deals very well with chargers and cases, and often discounts.

I can only chock it up as a premier flaw. Got two for $168 shipped, no contract extension. I still have yet to be charged for them, and somehow they removed my car dock on the order, so I think they really messed my order up. Anyhow, I'm way happy with this phone. This is how android is meant to be.

It's the same exact phone. There's no differentiation between this one and the one that you'd get at a T-Mobile store.
Mine should be arriving tomorrow. If it doesn't come with a sim card I'll have to run out and pick one up before I can activate. Glad to be going back to Android after a two year tryst with Windows Phone. It'll also be my first time going prepaid.
Woah, thanks for the heads up!
I've been popping in to every store in the area at lunch (3 or 4 stores) almost everyday, all still out of stock. The one time a store did have stock, they wouldn't sell it to me as a prepaid phone unless I paid an extra $80 for a new prepaid number :-/ I gave up after this
This deal is way cheaper! Hopefully I'll have it this Friday now
I received mine today, and it is an awesome device. I haven't activated it yet since I'm trying to get my current phone unlocked before I port the number, but I've been playing around with it on WiFi and barely scratching the surface of its functionality. I'm trying to figure out all of the options that are available to me, and what I really need on this device. Nice to see WiFi calling is enabled through t-mobile, but I'll probably just use hangouts for that feature. I also picked up a Samsung 64GB micro SD card on sale at Best Buy for $30. Great deal.
if anybody bought this phone with their discover card through t-mobile, make a screen shot of this bestbuy ad showing the $699 price, then call discover and ask them to send you the form for price protection, you can easily get paid the difference of $50 with their 90 price protection plan. i can provide the screen shot if anybody needs it. i'm gonna hold until black friday to see if there's gonna be a better deal before calling discover.
