Look below the highlighted line. Interestingly enough, it's running the Norwegian language. That's right, Android 2.1 for the HTC Tattoo is now all but confirmed. We just have to wait now.

Probably until mids february, that htc releases an android 2.1 device and can port the rom for their other devices more "easily". still there is not much tattoo development yet in the community and cyanogen is centered in the first g1 phones.
yeah, im surprised at how small the tattoo community is. which is a shame becuase its a good phone.

I just bought a Tattoo for my girlfriend and promised to myself I'd leave it alone, but a norwegian 2.1 rom just can't be ignored.. :O

You have successfully installed 2.1 on tattoo?
So, its mid-february and there are no new informations about this.
At the Press Conference at MWC, HTC confirmed updates for "older" Devices but only mentioned the Hero and no other Device...
My guess: There will be no 2.1 for the Tattoo.

I'm a bit bummed about it. You see the twitter feed for HTC mentioning the Eris, Hero, etc all getting updates..... just not our Tattoo though, which really sucks considering it has the same processor as the Hero. Maybe it is just the resistive screen that is the reason they are not doing it?
I thought the 2.1 was more or less confirmed on the tattoo (a la first post in this thread???)
I have just phoned HTC technical about the 2.1 upgrade and their reply was they are working hard on getting the touchflo part working for the Hero phone for release in the near future but for the Tattoo there has been no announcement so they cannot confirm or deny that it will be available for the Tattoo

I don't know where the authors got the information, that Legend has Android 2.2 aka Froyo already.
Indeed, the HTC announcement itself does not give details on Android version. But (personal opinion) these new Legend should indeed ship with Froyo directly, which would be great for us

Great news which confirms my mind that:
1) HTC's Legend is not dead and will be in production
2) Hope that new sense will be ported in New models.. Lets keep fingers crossed.
They are expected in October..who know there might be "Froyo in October" !! !!

The standman actually put the wrong handset into their hands. so they pulled a quick review on it. they confirmed 2.4 ran faster than 2.3 on the same handset also there is some new animations available.

There's nothing special, if you familiar with software development, bump to next vision is the first thing must to be done after a major version released. so the head branch must be 2.4.

No...because its on a Sony phone
their flagship the X10 isnt even getting froyo, i doubt they would get 2.4 first
also. 2.4 with the 32.9 kernel. not likely, it will most likely have at least 34.x kernel. i mean AOSP is up to 35.7 kernel

well... Truth be told it's getting really ridiculous.
Three months later and after some recorder succesfull cases of S-Off they didnt even so much as bother releasing any news on the progress.
I'm with everyone stating we shouldn't be demanding anything since its not a right its just something they do on their spare time but if they cant make it work at least give it out to the community to try.
After all, nobody started out knowing everything they had help from the rest of the android world like anybody would. Isn't it time to give something back? Even if its just an update on their progress.

It's true though, and the thing is no matter what device I buy, it always in the corner of the room not being able to enjoy the party.
Happened with iPod Touch 2G MC, had to wait for months to get jailbreak just because our devices were unique and we have different bootroms.
And now HTC Wildfire, I bought the phone after getting the news that HTC Wildfire will be getting Froyo update, but now stuck with it with no root. I should've asked them if there were any handsets left with 2.1 Stock in it. :\

Haha, I was in the same boat with my iPod Touch 3G 32GB bought last October. I clearly remember going to Chronic Dev's website every few hours just to check up on the progress of Greenpoison, and the anticlimax that was when limera1n was released.
Thankfully, had better luck with my Wildfire, although I had previously decided to get the 2.2 OTA just to check it out (Because, at the very beginning, I was afraid to root and all, since the guides seemed complex), I am glad I didn't.

sense 3 was out with flyer and i believe sense 3.5 was made recently for our device so i don't think it's outdated at all

I tried it on sensation and it really feel high end, loved it more then silly stock ICS, although its sense 3.5 but has lots of changes, such the new dock and the black notfication menu and animated folder with thumbnails
I won't try RC's QHD port on my DHD, I would rather wait for the WVGA XL version
after HTC announced that will not be issued update to ICS for Desire HD, I am very angry. And because I afraid that our protests will not be taken from HTC seriously, I wonder what can we do. Thought me, if Sense GUI can not be ported to alternative ROMs, for example for CyanogenMod..? I know it isn´t ok, but HTC has done a bad thing also. Sorry, I'm just very angry ... Simple, next phone which you buy won't be an HTC. Don't support a company you don't like with your money.
