we already have manila2d. thats all it is afaik. so useless post...

do we have a purely xvga version... or just one that was edited and downsized. are you talking about the file that's about 25mb now, or is there a smaller qvga cab? and isn't the xda release still in beta?

I'm sure T-Mobile will have color choices, but VZW will prob only be available in white, pink, or white and pink !

What about the Blackberry Storm (I know it's not HTC), kind of looks like the HD. First touch Blackberry!

no its acually a moto android device. called morrison maybe geared towards young teens. looks cheap! saw this on phandroid awhile back, but they acually have newer image up.

Im aware that the phone is a Moto device from the post above mine. Im speaking about the OS... thats not the real android OS... or that's got some ****ty screen quality.

the pictures device is codenamed moto morrison. (not official name upon release) its suppose to be an entry level and aiming as a 99 dollar price with 2 year contract. and appeal mroe to teens.
g1v2 code name is bigfoot. (again not official name) but in other sources it says g1v2 aka big foot aka morrison.. and it seems like all these sources are getting things mixed up.

FCCA documents show the htc hero coming out on ATTs frequencies.. and since apple wants to leave att, the htc hero could be its successor.

Look below the highlighted line. Interestingly enough, it's running the Norwegian language. That's right, Android 2.1 for the HTC Tattoo is now all but confirmed. We just have to wait now.

btw, kinda off topic, but has anyone been able to root the tattoo?

Probably until mids february, that htc releases an android 2.1 device and can port the rom for their other devices more "easily". still there is not much tattoo development yet in the community and cyanogen is centered in the first g1 phones.

yeah, im surprised at how small the tattoo community is. which is a shame becuase its a good phone.

I just bought a Tattoo for my girlfriend and promised to myself I'd leave it alone, but a norwegian 2.1 rom just can't be ignored.. :O

You have successfully installed 2.1 on tattoo?

So, its mid-february and there are no new informations about this.
At the Press Conference at MWC, HTC confirmed updates for "older" Devices but only mentioned the Hero and no other Device...
My guess: There will be no 2.1 for the Tattoo.

I'm a bit bummed about it. You see the twitter feed for HTC mentioning the Eris, Hero, etc all getting updates..... just not our Tattoo though, which really sucks considering it has the same processor as the Hero. Maybe it is just the resistive screen that is the reason they are not doing it?

I thought the 2.1 was more or less confirmed on the tattoo (a la first post in this thread???)

I have just phoned HTC technical about the 2.1 upgrade and their reply was they are working hard on getting the touchflo part working for the Hero phone for release in the near future but for the Tattoo there has been no announcement so they cannot confirm or deny that it will be available for the Tattoo

since it's pretty clear we need a custom build, instead of xdandroid, to make android run the best on our beloved hd2, I took the liberty of making a icon and name concept for it. I call it: LEODROID.

Looks very nice! One complaint though, wish the guy would have flipped the phone over and showcase the whole phone instead of just the UI.
