as my protest.. - Desire HD General

after HTC announced that will not be issued update to ICS for Desire HD, I am very angry. And because I afraid that our protests will not be taken from HTC seriously, I wonder what can we do. Thought me, if Sense GUI can not be ported to alternative ROMs, for example for CyanogenMod..? I know it isn´t ok, but HTC has done a bad thing also. Sorry, I'm just very angry ... (and sorry for my english..)

Simple, next phone which you buy won't be an HTC. Don't support a company you don't like with your money.

+1 before mod andyharney close down this useless thread.

He can close it. It´s only about my angry. HTC wants only our money. Not want´s to support "old" models. Buy new. Everytime. You get no support. Everytime.

If you want to protest, grab some placards ant pitch a tent outside HTC's HQ. Simply posting on XDA will not help.

Android now available on HD2 from HTC??

businessurls.co.uk made an announcement 7-30-10.
Say it ain't so, Joe. Well....it's an option.

I doubt it. They have a contract with microsoft for the HD2... they couldn't do that without pissing ms off.

Did you bother to read it? Nowhere does it say that android is available for the HD2 from HTC. It's just some shop in the UK that is offering the option. They don't mention that they are voiding the factory warranty while they are doing it though.

Maybe it is a shop selling the phone whit a hack job install.
I saw it while playing on my new dual boot hd2 with android last night and thought it might be worth looking into by some of the xda experts. Ban me if you want, just telling you what I saw.
I'd post a pic of it here but can't even figure out how!!

Considering it's running off an SD Card and doesn't touch the NAND I really don't see how this would void any warranty.
All the link says is that you can install Android. And it's got the potential to 'provide a ɡrеаt boost tο thе sale οf thеѕе HTC HD2 contracts аnԁ thе pay аѕ уου ɡο mobile phones.', nowhere does it say it comes pre-loaded or you can buy a dualboot option.

Can't wait, cyanogenmod 7?
Niiice! Can't wait!
Gotta love cyanogen mod
On another note, I hate getting all that dust around the screen in that ridge.
AWESOME! - if this gets out of release candidates in the near future, they'll recieve a nice bonus from me
Awesome but...2.6.32 kernel?I thought Gingerbread used like 2.6.35 or something...

I'm pretty sure it does too. I suppose you could easily edit the build.prop to show the Android version as 2.3.1
Yep you can definitely edit the build.prop to show this. Just look at my Android 3.0 DHD.

You could indeed, but when your a member of team cyanogen which kali is, and responsible for maintaining the desire and Desire HD builds would you? (original source http://twitter.com/#!/Kalozzo/status/16522866405154818)
That screenshot isn't from Kali.
Ok, I take it back, just done a little more digging.
Will this be available as an automatic system update or only as a custom ROM?

Samsung & carrier fees reason for Froyo delays?

I do not know how accurate, truthful or factual this person is, but their post explains why we don't have Froyo yet - basically US carriers have to pay more for feature updates rather than maintenance updates, and Samsung insists Froyo is a feature update but carriers insist is a maintenance update being that Google did the majority of the work:

If this is the case (and it kind of makes sense) I am quite disappointed in all parties concerned. What the heck.

These posts keep getting taken down by the mods. Cut the guy some slack! He didn't know. My post on this had over 1,000 views and over 30 comments and still got taken down. I mean, we're all clamoring for ANY news on Froyo. I mean, what else do we have to talk about here? Rooting or installing the Froyo hack?
Honestly, OP, I like and can't get enough of the "Where's Froyo?" posts either. Why? Any news at all is worth a read for me. I want my Froyo!
Please search before making a new thread. There are numerous threads discussing this same topic.

Latest HTC Sense Rom

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ynmqtopi9g
here is a link to a video of the review of the HTC Evo 3D and i couldnt help but notice how badass the new sense UI was with the endless cube screen switch animation, and the lockscreen and even some of the widgets.
IS THERE ANY WAY WE CAN PORT THIS UI OVER?!?!?!?
Yes, but i don't think many people are behind porting sense or willing to do it.
I know they guy who is working on MIUI is also working on sense.
This shouldv'e been in General IB4TM
I have just 3 things to say:
1. There is a Sense UI port under way if you had bothered to search.
2. This definitely doesn't belong in development.
3. Typing in all caps is incredibly annoying.
I Agree and i have added appropriate tags for this thread
for one i didnt tag the "tags"..i have no idea where they came from, and two ive tried searching and this forum keeps saying it doesnt show the information. idk how to find it

For one, the Sense UI has to be available to port first...the one from the EVO 3D isn't leaked yet

Did you respond?
No offense but how do we know if you're not just fishing for laptop repairs or quick cash? It seems kinda fishy now. If you are serious, how about some screenshots when the tester arrives? I think that might help ease some people's minds. Plus, not really sure what (if any) can be done with a tester device if it's locked down. Unless, HTC left the sd card with the rom update on board still I hope this all turns out okay.
Sure ill put pics when I can.
And would be nice..

Sorry but it seems like a scam to me. Why would HTC and not T-Mobile be sending out emails regarding a T-Mobile ROM ?
