Question 3D Printed Case - 3D Printers

For the people that have 3D printers, have you made any cases for your Note 3 that worked well? If so, post your findings here with picture(s) and the file (if possible).

Also, if anyone finds a 3D printable case that they would like to see, provide a link or the file and I will print it out and post pictures.

If you could make a dot like all new htc case, the one that's perforated and we could find a dev over here to write an app to show the info through the cover just like the htc one case

Now that would be tough.. I will have to design a hinge and the front flap. I'll see what I can figure out...

i have a 3d printer and printed a case out, fit nice and provided protection, but I ended up getting a UAG case. Only have one pic of it, along with the other phone cases I 3d printed, it's the one iwth the hexagonal pattern.

If i sent some money your way would you print me out the bumper case?

I actually use 3d modeling/printers often at school. I'm definitely going to check to see if I could have one of the guys in the lab 3d print out one of those grab cad files after I maybe add my name or something to it. It looks cool. Thanks for the link.

I printed the hexagon case out on my printer in ABS. The fit was a bit snug getting it into the case, and a he'll of a time getting it out. Looks cool though. Those pictures are directly after printing. I had to clean out a few holes a bit.

[Q] Replacement housing?

I'm currently looking to perform several repairs on my well-beaten HD2, and I was wondering if anyone knew if I can get any replacement housing?
I know there are standard replacements, but I saw this picture (below) and wanted to know if it's possible to get these parts.

I cant see any image or link but i presume you are looking for the housing. There are many HD2 replacement parts on the net.But the safest is ebay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/Replaceme...rts_Tools&_ipg=200&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14.l1514
Or if you are only interested in the housing:http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Back-Case...K_Replacement_Parts_Tools&hash=item3a67e596bf
Replacing the housing is pretty easy so its better if you order one and install it yourself. However, If you want to replace the LCD,digitiser or the flash, its a real pain to get to the components,so you might want to send it to a local smartphone repair store for repair.Hope that your HD2 will be back in full glory.Gd Luck
Thank you for your reply but i was looking for a white housing in particular.
I think the picture has gone down.

well,i dont think theres any retail white housing. The pic should be a customised one from a user, using enamel or primer and paint. But if the pic u found is the retail version,i would love to know!.or if you really fancy a white housing(without all that painting hassle),u can do a makeshift one like this guy:http://www.brendacarescorner.com/2011/06/hd2-white-skin-and-looking-good/...just paste the skin over your housing!.
I appreciate your help but i couldn't find it anywhere. I suspect some photoshoppery may have been involved. it looked like a standard HTC case with all the branding, etc. I'll try get the picture back up when I'm on my computer.

Edit; from my notebook, the image shows up fine, maybe it's a bad host, but here's the image again - just for good measure.

Well, its definitely not real. Its either a render from a CAD program like Solidworks(I used it to do render a white Evo4G myself! or its Photoshopped. The image just looks slightly pixelated and a bit too 'digital'...But if someone manages to make an actual white HD2...im definitely up for it! Actually,if you have the money,it is possible. You just need a blow molding machine, a mold of the housing(made by CNC machining) and use a white thermoplastic/thermoset material. If you have someone working in this industry, you can try your luck!
cheers!
If you look closely, it's pretty easy to tell that someone has just done an inversed (negative) version of the standard press shot and then pasted the screen back on top. There's no white shell unless you homebrew one.

My PS3 Controller Mount Mod

I wanted to make a mount mod to play games on my GS3 using a Sixaxis PS3 controller. Here are some pictures of how I made it. All parts were inexpensive and only one that is a little difficult to find was the plastic piece that I built my mount around. I bought a cheap 10 dollar or so PS3 wireless keyboard and used its mount for this. I will be using the keyboard with my old phone as a XBMC project with HDMI cord. So in the end the clip was a bonus. The solid white tpu case is a 1-2 dollar case off ebay. I used one that has a smooth back and not one of the "S Curve" ones.

The game is called earth and legends.
The gameklip looks great as well. I didn't see he was making them to after I had completed my own mount. I hope he is successful with them as I looked around for a while for something like this.
I wanted to keep mine modular, so I added wrong nuts to easily remove the clip. That way if I was to get a nexus 7 I could use my side parts to make it a stand. Only thing I would need is to buy a cheap eBay case for it. Since the case down is a part of the mount. Could do the same for other devices, such as a psp or something of that nature. I have a transformer, but think it would be too heavy and bulky to mount.
I decided to give up a little in the looks department to be able to adjust the time height. I noticed in some of the places I play games, I'm more cramped and needed the screen to be more flat, and at other times I preferred it to be more at a 45 degree angle.
The keypad with clip I bought is sold on buy.com by a company called yallstone. An unable to post link. Look up ps3 keypad. They are on eBay and Amazon add well, but they didn't show an actual picture of the clip, and wanted to be sure it came with one. Amazon and eBay had cheaper prices.
I likely wouldn't have bought it if I hadn't had a use for the keypad as well.

Please not leather....

Has anyone come across a case for the N7 that isn't Leather or leather look?
The case designs that are out are fine I just don't want a leather style case!
Thanks in advance
there is the official case for the N7 from the play store which i think is made of the same material as the original back. Its pretty nice but looks like leather. There is not many manufacturers N7 cases. It hasent even launched worldwide yet so i guess maybe in the future we might find some good cases but as of now there isnt much choice in the market. I
How about a carbon look?
Just search "Nexus 7 carbon" in Amazon. I think I will be getting that one.
thanks for the replies!
I saw the Official Case but i wasn't overly impressed with some of the video reviews!

The Tucano seven inch case rocks! It's a bit pricey though at thirty dollars (retailed at Frys). It basically looks like an old school daily planner when I'm not using it - which suits me just fine.
It turns into a multi angle stand and has one pocket for my earphones and my stylus.

Would glass work for someone with one eye?

Sorry if this seems a stupid question, but as the title says, I'm curious as to whether I could use Google glass as I only have sight in one of my eyes (my right eye)
Thanks in advanced to anyone replying, and I hope you're all enjoying your glass

Yes. It's not stereo; the little prism display is only over the right eye.

Thanks very much! I wasn't sure on how much of the lens it took up, so I was wondering about whether I'd be able to see anything other than the display.
Thanks again!
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
of course ,only right side has a very little display now.
The prism is small and positioned to be on the periphery of your vision, so it doesn't block much at all.
If you're right-eyed, you seem to be in luck, because all the pictures of Glass I've seen are positioned on the right.
See this picture, only that small square is actual 'display', everything else is more or less a frame.

Maybe they're going to make left ones too, who knows.
Google has said that it is designed to display right at the edge of your vision so as to not block normal sight, but they are assuming stereoscopic vision. Looking at the pictures again, like the one above, I am a little concerned that Glass might block, or at least obscure, a good chunk of vital vision.

That's what I was worried about, I don't wanna splash out and get glass and then walk into the path of a bus or something lol.
I may message Google and see what they say!
Will post a reply here should I get one
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
There doesn't appear to be a way to message Google with my question as I don't have glass.
I'll just have to wait and see
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
I'm in the same boat except I'm the unlucky one to only have sight in my left eye...
I'm really interested in Google glass but I'm guessing I'm probably going to be SOL... Hopefully they bring out a version for the left side...
Same here... I'm going to have to wait for the left eye version to come out the unit is designed asymmetrically, so it can't just be flipped over to the other side.
