My PS3 Controller Mount Mod - Galaxy S III General (US Carriers)

I wanted to make a mount mod to play games on my GS3 using a Sixaxis PS3 controller. Here are some pictures of how I made it. All parts were inexpensive and only one that is a little difficult to find was the plastic piece that I built my mount around. I bought a cheap 10 dollar or so PS3 wireless keyboard and used its mount for this. I will be using the keyboard with my old phone as a XBMC project with HDMI cord. So in the end the clip was a bonus. The solid white tpu case is a 1-2 dollar case off ebay. I used one that has a smooth back and not one of the "S Curve" ones.

The game is called earth and legends.
The gameklip looks great as well. I didn't see he was making them to after I had completed my own mount. I hope he is successful with them as I looked around for a while for something like this.
I wanted to keep mine modular, so I added wrong nuts to easily remove the clip. That way if I was to get a nexus 7 I could use my side parts to make it a stand. Only thing I would need is to buy a cheap eBay case for it. Since the case down is a part of the mount. Could do the same for other devices, such as a psp or something of that nature. I have a transformer, but think it would be too heavy and bulky to mount.
I decided to give up a little in the looks department to be able to adjust the time height. I noticed in some of the places I play games, I'm more cramped and needed the screen to be more flat, and at other times I preferred it to be more at a 45 degree angle.
The keypad with clip I bought is sold on buy.com by a company called yallstone. An unable to post link. Look up ps3 keypad. They are on eBay and Amazon add well, but they didn't show an actual picture of the clip, and wanted to be sure it came with one. Amazon and eBay had cheaper prices.
I likely wouldn't have bought it if I hadn't had a use for the keypad as well.

Cheap good xoom case UK

Well I don't normally do this, but I ordered a case from eBay and within 2 days it arrived
The cost of this leather case including postage was £12.98 (free postage)
It's got quite a good solid feel to it and fit's my xoom very well, I half expected it to be rubbish for the money but it's not.
I would highly recommend this to any xoom owner. It's the only one I found that you have access to all ports and also allows the indicator light to show through when I get an email.
Mines the 3G version but I dont think that makes a difference. Also because the flap has a crease in it, this allows it to stand up for watching a film BUT if you lay it down the other way you use it to type on. Using it this way puts the xoom upside down sadly but it then allows you to charge it from the top
O.. and did I mention you also get a FREE screen protector with it!! I haven't fitted mine yet however.. I hate doing them because I always mess up and end up with lots of bubbles and fluff.. lol
Apol's if this is breaking any rules, but I'm that impressed with it I thought I would pass this on.
The current eBay link is http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250793933011
Happy xoom'in
Steve
Ermmm not wery well made. I have the same and the xoom dosn't fit properly.

It is not the only one which provides access to all sensors and buttons, and it doesn't provide access to charger port while being closed - as all other currently known cases.
Btw, you posted that in the wrong forum...
this is the one i got and its great. Had no problems with the ports, the holes some to be in the perfect position.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270737383497
only "down side" (not sure if it is even that bed to be called that), is that the "hinge" of the case is at the bottom. So when charging the case cannt be closed all the way, btu i just fold it back(so the screen is not covered) when chargin and put in a drawer.
apart from what its a very good case for under £15.
that looks like its the same case. I think for the money its a bargain.
Had my xoom for few days now and loving it. Starting to use it more and more now... looking forward to the uk 3.1 update. From what I've been reading it might be out on the 27th may...
Fingers crossed
I bought the tuff-luv pull-tab case from eBay for about £14. Very nice.
Hi guys, I bought this one.
http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/view...=1&nav=WON&nid=32518807697&trxId=583007023013
Only £4.99 with free delivery
The case is a nice tight fit and adds no bulk, all port holes are a perfect match.
Best device case I've bought (cheapest too)
Screen protector that came with it was one of the cheaper ones that leave smear marks etc but I decided not to use it, I bought the item just for the case anyway.
I can't rate it highly enough guys.

Is that a live camera image or just your wallpaper?
Kinda sucks that its not tilted towards the driver.
No build thread? How did you get it installed? Integrate it into the speakers? Is that camera live? Did you leave the factory unit behind the Transformer?
Not a back up cam, if they make it, it will be on it soon.
Its not facing the driver, just in case there are 5 other people in the truck, but I almost did that!
Head unit is above it, the A/C controls were moved below cup holder... will post picks of the whole build once I
get home...
Galaxy tab used to be intalled before and a 10",7" screens before that, so is has been a long going project...

Clean install, major props.
Actually you don't need to turn it towards the driver because the viewing angle is so good on this thing.
looks great.
to tilt maybe something like a tv mount with an arm that ca be extended out..?
(not sure if those exists for something like a tablet)
This looks awesome..
Tilt mount sounds good, I'll try to fabricate a smaller version n see how it works!

Not sure about that particular cable but can say if it has Ethernet it is a 1.4a rated cable. One of the newest standards out. I used a cheap cable on my wife's Xoom and had non problem. Many places to get cheap cables.
Mono price.com. , merit line.com shoot even amazon and eBay. Maybe there was a different issue there.
I see that it is a crap cable I plugged it in again and it worked but it was a little off like with the picture size like I only see 2 squares of the right top side app draw button
Thanks I didn't know this was the new style I will exchange it tomorrow b4 I leave for Detroit test at my brothers house
Edit- also cable needs to be in one position or no pic its 100% a dud can't wait to play n64 or modern combat 3 on big screen!

White screen after water damage

The tablet was soaked after being in a bag with a leaky bottle. This happend a few months ago and I just had time to take a look at it.
The screen is just white. I can connect it to a TV using HDMI and the touch screen works to operate it. Bluetooth keyboard/mouse, GPS and WiFi work too. Battery chargers and holds a normal charge. Any ideas what would need to be replaced to fix this?
I guess I can sell it to someone who has a broken touch screen or something, or use it as a tv box, but I don't really have a use for that.
Thanks

Very similar thing happened to me yesterday, can of drink burst in my bag (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1805971) im gonna say your screen is broken if you cant see anything onscreen, im slowly but surely fixing my screen by sitting the tablet under a 40w lightbulb about 10-15 cm away
My only question is why would you take so long to check it out?

Controller, sharp edge cutting into joystick

All, just FYI.. I was talking with datagutt and he mentioned that he needed to send back his controller due to a sharp edge on the metal face plate cutting into the left joystick. I took a look at mine and its doing the same thing his was and I hardly use the controller (i'm in adb most of the time!). I would advise to sand down or otherwise blunt the sharp edge before the cut gets too deep if this is happening to you.
This is mine after hardly any use.
http://imgur.com/aw1GAlz
edit: thank datagutt I would never had looked at mine until he said something...
Thanks for the heads up!!
I will report back once i get my new controller.
I took a look at my joysticks and the same exact thing is happening! It's on both joysticks but much more pronounced on the left which makes sense because it gets used more. What would be the ideal way to smoothen the joysticks cradle?

I've taken a look at both of my controllers as well and exactly the same only 1 day usage... I've actually taken the magnetic covers off and used them to cut down on wear and tear however.... After about 30 minutes playing Shadow gun, its starts wearing down the underside of the stick :S either way its going to destroy them. But you can order new ones which at least is a work around as they can be replaced. Saw a video on YouTube about a controller stick mod.
Ideally what they would have been better with was a small aluminium ring just under the rim so its metal on metal and not so much wear and tear.
Not a big deal, but the quality is an issue for sure. Take note Ouya for controller MkII
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
Hopefully this isn't the case with all controllers. Would suck. Although I doubt it would get too deep.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Premium HD app
I don't see this as a big deal its not like you can saw the stick in two.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
I've checked mine and also is visible the mark. I hope that the movement stick is limited before by the own mechanmism than the metallic ring, and do not saw the stick...
It is the same on My Controller and it seems to be a production failure that occurs on every controller.
It's just sloppy crafted.
I took some 400K Sandpaper and deburred it myself. I also took the pad apart and applied some Grease on the triggers. So that they feel a lot smoother and the "grinding-noise" stopped.
At first touch the gamepad feels realy good, but if you take a closer look it's just poor craftsmanship.
Is the plastic part massive or hollow where this happens?
