Android 9.1 Stereo issues.. Need advice or firmware update to resolve? - Android Head-Units

Hello to all you wonderful people
Firstly thank you for taking the time to read and potentially help me resolve this issues. Here are the issues I am experiencing.
Vehicle 2006 X5 BMW 4.4i E53 (No hating on please I already know)
Unit 9"inch Chinese made Android 9.1 firmware. Not connected to aftermarket amplifier and no RCA Audio connect)
Android YT9213A_00009_V001_20200312
Android os 9.1 XY Auto:3.2 (8227L)
Can Pro 3.0 (8227L)
Cpu A7 1.3Hz x 4
MCU 3.1 (8227L)
1. Unit only produces sound when using the Radio (Front speakers only and No fade ability, left right or EQ)
2. I have set the Canbus to BMW but Steering Wheel Button Mapping is non functioning or recognising.
3. Updated software via units button and Wi-fi and still no change
4. Vehicle has a DSP amplifier aka Splits 2 channel signal into 6 channels
5. Has Bluetooth connectivity but does not pick up sound when on a call from within the car nor produces any sound when playing music tracks or video.
6. Struggles to play movie files (Wondering if it is just a file type issue - I use "mkv" file types normally "VLC player" )
7. Google maps produces no street name data and only shows directional lines and no turn information vocally.
Please note that the company I bought this off no longer replies to emails and wont engage in any form of help..
I am hoping that a raw firmware update to Android 10 or similar will fix most /all of these issues...if so I would need a link to the firmware file please - Plus if advised that RCA connects are the answer to the Sound issues maybe the answer.
If anyone has any advice I would be greatly appreciated

If your BMW is anything like my jeep then number 4 is your problem. You have the factory premium sound (factory dsp amp)
Your factory amp only uses 2 channels from your android unit. You can not control fade because your android unit can not control the Can Bus fade system in your factory amp. You can't hear Bluetooth, or navigation info because the 2 channels from the android unit which are connected to the factory dsp are the REAR channels and meanwhile all bluetooth and nav information is fed through the FRONT channels on the android unit. You can correct this by switching the front channels with the rear channels on the android unit.
You will still not be able to correct fade though. What you can TRY though is going into the FACTORY SETTINGS on the android and make sure you have AMPLIFIER turned on. If your android machine is 'smart enough' then it will understand that your dsp fade needs to be controlled through CAN Bus.
If you ordered the factory specific android unit for your bmw, your steering wheel buttons SHOULD work, but you will not be able to remap them.
The cpu that you have in that machine is not really strong enough to handle mkv files. You should convert to a simpler format if you want to play video on that machine.

Hi new member. Welcome, suggest taking the time to learn the basics of Chinese Android head units, there are alot of informative posts and a wiki for MTCx units.
As your unit is not an MTCD, I have requested a mod moves it to the appropriate Android head units forum.

Hey
I also have X5, but lucky for me - w/o DSP and NAVI. So every generic head unit works for me fine
But according to your problem.. unfortunately what Bob_sanders says is true and problem is DSP.
To allow your head unit handle DPS you need to buy additional I-BUS interface (which you connect using USB and soldering few wires) and download application.
You can read more in this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/discussion-unofficial-bmw-i-bus-app.4077697/
Not sure if buying license is necessary to enable DSP, so you may check it before you buy.
But for sure updating Android version won't help - you have to use this I-bus thingy.
edit. same thing applies to steering wheel control - command are sent using I-bus (instead of CAN) and i-bus interface is needed to handle them.
But AFAIK you won't be able to do a custom mapping. They will work only like BMW designed it.
Custom mapping is only available to resistive-based SWC controls, which are connected to KEY 1 & 2 wires in head unit harness.

Hi Wotii098
I have found an answer to the problem and it is a super simple one...
So apparently the power antenna wire is the answer... So the issue goes without the activation of that wire the unit thinks there is no antenna and will not go any further with sound and will only produce basic Radio audio... So what you need to do is attach the "BLUE" Ant wire (Pin No.12) to the Yellow power wire and this will instantly fix the issue.. Spread the word my brethren and thank you for your response.

HUH?
Sorry... I'm not sure what you did or the problem you were having but the blue antenna wire is just an antenna trigger wire which OUTPUTS a voltage. There is no "activation" of that wire and nothing on that wire to sense any connection. It simply outputs a voltage to trigger a power antenna. If you do not have a power antenna then DO NOT connect it to anything.
It is NOT advised that you connect that wire to the yellow 12 volt constant voltage wire. That is NOT what it is for, and you may damage your machine in the end.

Arrr But that's the thing.. it's a trigger wire that the unit uses to trigger the DSP Amp that everything is active and to open up the signal to the amp.
Well not the best and actual scientific/electrical way of putting it... but it worked and fixed most of my issues.. I've only got one issues left which is the steering wheel button mapping which doesn't work. Which could be the actual buttons/assembly as I did not test them when I bought the SUV, because the stereo's screen was dead.
Either way I hope this helps someone who is having the same issue as me for a 2005/6 model BMW X5 or any other car/suv/truck with the same issue.
Give it a try if you are having this problem Bob.. can't hurt.. Didn't hurt my unit..
Here is a Youtube link to the video I found that solved the issue:

No. It is a trigger wire for your Antenna. That's precisely why it shuts down when you turn the radio off. Your power antenna is no longer needed because you are not listening to the radio anymore, so it retracts back down into the vehicle.
What you are doing when you connect to the yellow is feeding a REVERSE voltage through a circuit which was designed to PRODUCE a voltage, not receive one. You risk damage to your machine by doing so.
If you are having problems keeping your dsp alive then you have wired something wrong. I don't know what head unit you have but all the ones I know of have a separate "AMP" wire which is used to trigger the amp/dsp. It stays on at any time the head unit is on.

Extremely Weird Radio Issue on Funrover Head Unit

Hi all,
I've bought this unit for my Mazda CX-7 and had it professionally installed - it ran fine for a while and I was very happy with it.
A rather weird issue developed - on this unit the FM radio starts automatically when you turn on the ignition (there doesn't seem to be a way around this) and when the Radio App is running, I can hear the radio fine, and if I start another app such as Google Maps as long as the radio is running I can hear sounds normally. However if I manually exit the radio or if an app takes over audio (say Spotify for instance) the head unit goes completely silent, only to be revived again when I reload the Radio app. This of course makes the head unit useless for music and bluetooth as as soon as any of these apps are loaded the unit goes silent.
On the manufacturer's advice I reset the CANBUS settings and verified with them that the CANBUS was set right for my make and model of car - still the same result. Tried all CANBUS settings that even mentioned Mazda, no luck.
I really don't know how to start trouble shooting this - I have been provided four different firmwares by the manufacturer all of which exhibit the same issue which indicates to me it may be an underlying hardware issue?
Just a quick dump from my 'About Device' if that assists at all. Any help/suggestions greatly appreciated, any relevant logs or files will be quickly gathered and posted

That the radio starts on these units on reboot can't be changed. It is a hardware "feature". The radio chip and AMP-chip are "awake" before Android is even running. That is why you hear the radio after cold boot. And for your convenience the radio app is also started, but that is only a front-end that allows you to either enjoy and control the radio(-chip) or switch it off.
I don't think the CAN-bus has anything to do with this behavior, but I can be wrong.
I think that when you switch off the radio, also the AMP is switched off, or maybe even disabled.
If you switch off the radio, can you check in your Settings whether the AMP is still enabled? And maybe play/try a few things?

The amp is still enabled in the car settings app if that's what you mean? Or are you thinking more on the hardware side?

What I meant is if you switch Amp off (no Amp) and then back to the value it had, and then try spotify or whatever.
Just a guess.

Is the manufacturer not willing to replace it?
No they're not
I have the same problem. The radio worked without any problem until I made the factory reset ( wifi wont work ) and from then on I have only the sound from fm radio app.
Hi there, changing this setting worked for me - for me I had to choose RZC and RZC.AMP but try a few MCU upgrades in this setting and see what works for your vehicle.
I also found the Funrover guys to be very communicative so try contacting them directly - as part of the trouble shooting process they provided me a couple of firmware updates - including putting one together especially for me based on the issues I was experiencing.

it does not work with me. I tried all the mcu options, I updated device using the software drovided by funrower, there is still no sound via mp3, bluetooth or video, only radio. MCU i think seted correctly because I have working steering wheel controls or mazda additional display... any other suggestions ??
Did you try all the MCU options with Mazda listed? I had to play around with a few and only RZC worked for me. If none of them work contact Funrover for their latest firmware and try the various Mazda MCU options.
New Funrover firmware ?

The CANBUS doesn't work correctly in a recent Funrover Android 8.1 installed in an Honda Accord 7 (recent firmware). I have test several type of CANBUS and there is nothing to do. On the other hand, I have read in another thread that there is identical issue with a Seicane Android 8.0 and a similar Honda car. Perhaps it is a problem related to Android 8.x version. I wait for a response from Funrover but I don't expect much.

After that, I have selected XP - Toyota - RAV4 - xxxx16xxxx in my Accord 7 Executive and it works almost completely. State of buttons with LED inside are not shown or shown inverted in the emergent screen. Thus, If a button has LED, I observe its state, but, when a button hasn't a LED, I observe its state on the emergent screen. It's a little yam but it's the only solution I have found with this unit.
On the other hand, I have selected a vehicle in the "China" subgroup and the screen has begin to shown many a many CANBUS codes on the screen. It seems to be a debug option. But unfortunately, I hasn't been able to repeat the sequence in order to activate this mode another time. It ocurred a day when I have tested all vehicle models and I have selected them very quickly.

We all come here to learn. Even if he/she has a Smartcar does it really matter? Tell you the truth I wouldn't mind installing one. I think I remember reading somewhere on here that someone has it installed. You would need to have a video in on the HU. If the HU only has a video in for reverse then obviously it will only work when backing up.
Thank you so much Kouklo for your understanding and insights. Your point about extra video in makes sense. Hope others can share their installation experience with me.
Cheers

So let me give you a bit more info about my project and you may be able to help me more. I have installed an 8" Dasaita Android 8 unit on my 2016 Outlander GT. Now I am planing to install a 360 degree birdview system to this Dasaita system. Could you please help on the following 2 questions? (1) Can I simply plug the male RCA video out from the birdview system to the female RCA of existing rearview camera input of the Dasaita head unit? or an AV IN female RCA female of the Dasaita unit? (2) I found that there is not triggering wire to connect when installing the Dasaita unit, but the birdview system appears need a triggering wire to activate its rearview camera, so not sure hot to handle this issue if I would like to use the existing stock rearview camera with this birdview camera system. I updated to the latest MCU and Android OS, I remember the rearview camera app appears to support 360 degree camera systems now. Thanks so much in advance, I am just preparing myself for the installation. Here is the 360 degree birdview system I bought.
Much appreciated!

what about the manual you recived?
I once looked for this kinda system but later I didnt bought it. My understanding is all cameras are connected to the host and you just nned to connect host to your head unit. I think I saw AV IN rca on my unit, I would try on this port first. Also the host I belive you need to connect it 12V and I dont think you need to connect the "trigger " wire since you have ON/OFF switch on your remote controler.
You can try to connect it to the RCA of the rear camera. Nothing bad will happen.
you can also connect all trigger wires together, than when you hit to reverse it will turn on. I connected triger wire to the reverse rearlight (+).
its not so dificult as it might see

Thank you so much again for your detailed explanation.
1. I am sure it will work on the AV IN because I already have installed a side view and a front-view cameras controlled by a similar "host", I activate the system using a short-cut key on my steering wheel, then using a remote to switch between cameras. The drawbacks are (1) it is not automatic like the rearview camera and (2) you need to press a button or two to activate.
2. for this new project, I would like to (hope I can) integrate the new 360 system's front and 2 side cameras with the stock rearview camera. Offline test seems meet my expectation (I do not need it to be activated when turning left or right - I have yet to find the turning signal wire with constant power - pls do not laugh at me ..... did a lot of searching and asked in various forums).
I will keep you posted on my progress.
Cheers,
John

Thank you so much again for your detailed explanation.
1. I am sure it will work on the AV IN because I already have installed a side view and a front-view cameras controlled by a similar "host", I activate the system using a short-cut key on my steering wheel, then using a remote to switch between cameras. The drawbacks are (1) it is not automatic like the rearview camera and (2) you need to press a button or two to activate.

stock rearview camera is the original on your car?
you can use power cables from main connector of the head unit. there is 12V, ACC and ground. That one that goes in to the back side of the radio and maybe u use some T split conectors.

1. Yes, when I said stock rearview camera, I mean the one came with my car (from the manufacture) when I purchased it new;
2. good idea to use the power supply cables you suggested, do you have pictures handy showing the constant 12V, ACC and ground cables going into the Android head unit?
3. when you say T-split connectors, you mean for the RCA video, right?
Thx again!
John
They are the same color.
T-split connectors for getting power to the host unit of 360 controler.

on, actually
1. what is that orange BACK wire (the 4th from the top) for? is it for the backup camera?
2. Haha, I misread the 4 speakers as "4 cameras"......
Thx again
John
it is for connectin trigger wire, for reverse one, so when u put in reverse it will open camera on Head unit.

Any news from your mounting?
I buy the same kit as you.
I ask myself how to keep the image after removing the reverse gear.
Because the image does not remain when you remove the reverse.
I think the central box of this kit keep a signal for a few seconds? or when i put ON with transmitter?
i see this box have a input reverse and output reverse (to connect on the reverse signal on the radio)
But can you confirm that it extends the signal "reverse" by a few seconds to be able to display the view 360 in forward (just after the reverse)
Can you confirm me?
(Sorry i am a belgian man and my English is not verry good )

Thx for writing back and sorry for my delay but mainly because I have never been able to calibrate the birdview - have been communicating with the seller but not very helpful. Maybe you can help me on the calibration.
To answer your question, yes, I followed your earlier instructions for wiring. yes, I can have the birdview on after removing the reverse gear because I used a 2 (in) to 1 (out) RCA video adapter, one input is from the backup camera and the other input is from the birdview unit, so when you put on reverse gear backup camera shows, and when you switch to other gears you will see the birdview unit's image. Hope this answered your question.
Since I am unable to calibrate the birdview, so I am not really using the full feature. Now I am using bot the stock backup camera and the birthview system (I actually use the image from the front camera only) paralell - meaning I leave the stock backup camera as is, and connected the birdview unit to the AV IN and activate it by a quick button (the voice recognition button) on my steering wheel whenever I need to see it.
Hope this is helpful, and after you resolve this issue, hopefully you can help me on calibration.
Cheers,
John
Here's what I did on mine:
1-Connected the reverse signal from the canbox, and the left & right turn signals from the car mirrors to the 360 device.
2-Connected the 360 device trigger signal to the reverse signal input in the head unit.
3-Connected the 360 device RCA output to the head unit reverse camera input.
This way, whenever I turn left, right, or put the car on reverse, the 360 view together with left, right, or rear camera views, gets automatically displayed on the head unit. When I put the car out of reverse, the 360 device replaces the rear camera view with the front camera view and stays on for a few seconds before turning off.
I can also press the flasher to get the 360 camera on anytime.
It's very simple
I'have mounted wenichen 360 degree bird view on my rover 75
Connect reverse light + on the cable rear cam.
Connect right and left turn light on cable of camera
Connect video out on the rear cam input of PX5 and the white cable on the px5 reverse cable.
When you turn on left or right or put reverse, the px5 switch the screen to show 360 bird view
I abandoned the idea of putting the box "bird 360"
the new PX6 has the plugs to connect a camera to the front!
(The px5 has the same plug but is not wired)
I managed to get the new RCA plugs and now I have an input and a power supply to connect a camera to the front!
remains more than to change the option in the canbus to activate the camera at the front just after the reverse

[PX3/PX5/PX6] - Create Generic Android Car installation for all cars

Hello
I'm new to both the forum and the Android Auto section.
I acquired an Android system for my 2010 Volvo XC60 (without original multimedia equipment) on a well-known Chinese site, and after delivery, I encountered some problems on the interface part with the car (as much with the controls at flying than the air conditioning part): Nothing works. After a few exchanges with the seller, I was just able to get a partial refund.
But I wish I could have this fully functional system in my vehicle.
I have been looking for a solution to my needs for a few days, here and elsewhere.
And I realize that the installation in a Volvo is not supported by most PX3/PX5 supplier. The mechanical part is not compatible with Android 2 DIN autoradios.
So, after some research, I wonder if it is possible to leave on a motherboard basis PX3/PX5/PX6 depending on size or other, and to add a touch screen (in my case the one present on my Chinese system).
I had in mind - a motherboard based on RK3399 ("pcb pcba assembly custom solution RK3399 motherboard for vehicle" on Alibaba). But the question is how do I make the connection to CAN BUS and its decoding?
Do I have to put a set-top box? Is decoding done by the software part?
My idea is to make a system based on Android standards (9.0 preferably) that could finally fit into any vehicle (will remain as the mechanical installation part)
Could someone help me on this topic/this idea?

Google can really mess up a translation  So if I get this right you're saying the Steering Wheel Controls and the HVAC don't work and the Head Unit doesn't fit in a 2DIN opening.
The SWC and HVAC are controlled through the CAN Bus they should have supplied you with a box specific for your car. You can buy a box from somewhere else but it has to be made for your car and the HU has to have support for your car. The CANbus decoder talks to the HU through the MCU. That's a controller board inside the HU that interfaces the real world with Android (the SOM or what you call the motherboard). Yes there are 2 separate boards and they need to connect together can you see where that's going
The HU not fitting is hard to understand you're gonna have to explain that better or take some pictures.

Hello
Thank you for your reply: Indeed automatic translators often complicate things.
To return to my problem, there are actually two things or possibilities:
1. Run the kit I bought
2. Creating a new solution
My needs:
- An Android interface for my car (Volvo XC60 2010 without Sensus/Multimedia screen) with touch screen
- Have functional steering controls
- If possible performing (start-up and GPS)
Initial situation:
This not allow me to use standard 2 DIN HU
1. DO WORK THE KIT I BUY:
The kit in question:
there is a CANBUS case:
I think, like you, that the problem revolves around the decoding of CANBUS. But I don't know how to solve it or even analyze it.
2. MOUNT A NEW SOLUTION:
What I know I need:
Android motherboard (SOM)
CANBUS decoder
Screen (or use of the one I have)
The necessary connectors
But the I do not know what to take as SOM ... and where to find a CANBUS set-top box for my 2010 Volvo XC60?
I would like to build a solution not for my car, to allow other people to use it, by customing mecanical integration (Screen, etc...)
Many thanks for you help you can bring me,
Bertrand.
So just for the heck of it I did a little research, checked out the wiring diagrams for that car and dug a bit into what I found. Turns out your SWC buttons are digital and transmit to the HU through the LIN bus not CAN bus. The climate controls are on that same bus. Everything on the LIN bus goes to a central module and is sent out to the other modules. The CAN bus also goes to that module but the 2 buses stay separate. Just to make matters more interesting it looks like they use LIN-DC to connect to the HU.
All this means is it's likely the CANbus box they gave you can't even read the commands to the HU and climate control. That would also explain why there are so few manufacturers even selling Volvo specific HU anymore. I checked Ownice and they only mention Bluetooth SWC for that car. Seicane says their HU will retain the car's SWC maybe you can get in touch with them and see if they will sell you their CANbus decoder or at least tell you the part number so you can compare with yours.
Something I overlooked, I don't know how you would do it on your HU but get into the secret menu (usually type a code like 126 while in settings) then type logcan or is it canlog and push the buttons. If there is communication you should see something in the log (you'll have to search the site for info relating to this stuff).
Sounds like a whole can of hurt trying to create a generic system like you suggest at least in your case. Others have already done it you can follow where this link leads to know more.
Hello
First at all, a big thank you for the research done and the explanations (complicated to understand for me )
From what I understood I have to find a way to interface the LIN bus with my Android HU? Right?
From this link, I can read the information of the LIN bus from an Arduino. The question is how can I figure out how to interface my HU with the Arduino? Do you have any information about the link with the HU (CAN BUS or other)?
Link:
(Sorry for format I can't publish link )
The use of a product already manufactured is relatively expensive:
Regarding the secret menu, I have access via a code to the HU configuration menu:
And finally, my idea of a generic system is to decorate the "UC" and "display" to allow for easier physical integration. I could then use any touch screen size and put the "UC" elsewhere in the vehicle. the interconnection between the "UC" and the "display" would be on a more robust connector (HMDI, DisplayPort, etc...)
Another advantage, the screen could be more "fine" than those offered by dealers and better integrate into cars.
That's why I'm looking for a PX3/PX5/PX6 card without a screen.
NB: I found with the file explorer an interesting log file
Thanking you again.
Bertrand.
This is interesting I know the SWC work on BMW and Audi so it probably means that the decoder they gave you can read the LINbus. In the Learning Touch Button screen use the export option to backup the configuration then try the different car types. It might be good to reboot each time and typing this code hctreboot where you type the factory menu secret code might work faster. You can see if there's anything coming through the CANbus by typing canlog instead of the factory menu secret code. It might just be you need to re-learn the keys.
Hello
The problem is that the HU does not detect the connection to the vehicle:
So I'm a little limited on this side to do the analyses.
I'm going 3 weeks on vacation, I couldn't respond too much to this thread during this time, but I'll still try to make the configuration changes in the hidden menu, including the model.
On the other hand, I was wondering if with the LOG transmitted, I could update the Android ROM part?
Thanks in advance,
Bertrand.
Hello
After a well-deserved return from vacation, here I am again!!
With lots of ideas, and especially lots of questions....
1. From the photos, can I put a PX6 in place of the original PX3? (there are Main unit pictures, and CAN BUS picture, if anyone know how to connect to car, for checking error message, etc...)
2. If I put a PX6, how do I install it? via the USB port? knowing I'm on a Chinese make.
3. More complicated: If I realize an interface with an Ardouino for the LIN BUS of my Volvo, could someone help me know how to "inject" the information of the steering wheel controls into the PX3? Is there a standard or something?
Thank you in advance,
Bertrand

How did you get inside the “secret” menú?
I soul de like to change mine’s UI after a factory reset....
Thank you!
There are models available from Navitech which handle everything. For the XC60 2011 to 2014 they require that you leave the CPU for the Sensus Display in the car and they interface with that. I assume it is so they can get to the linbus data.
Oddly for 2009-2010 they say that the HVAC info will continue to show on LCD display on top of dash (original monitor). So I'm not sure why your HVAC information is not showing up on the original monitor. Is it possible to leave original CPU for Sensus display in your car?
Check out the Navitech 8.8inch RAM4GROM64G Android 9.0 PX6 on AliExpress.
Items not supported by the Navitech unit: Note:For our head unit, do not support like below: iPod, original car GPS antenna, original car back up rear camera, original car bluetooth, original car USB as well original car Microphone.
I am about to buy one of these for my 2013 XC60
Has anyone on this thread successfully rooted one of these Volvo PX6 MCU devices? Or have the Stock MCU file to restore from incase of a brick.
I have PX6 for Volvo XC60. Here is access to "secret menu": Settings---factory setting---password 1314

"REAKOSOUND" 9" head unit no sound from any app

Hi, I got a "REAKOSOUND" 9" head unit for my 2005 Citroen C4 Coupe, it has "android 10" or an imitation of it. I have no sound coming from the device (tried Youtube, radio, music app, and others. I manly want the main radio cable connection for sound, not RCA although I have tested the RCA connections which have no sound either.
What I tried:
- Reconnected wires multiple times
- Hard reset more than 3 times
- Seller provided "update" that did not change anything
- Tried an RCA speaker into RCA "Aux R Out" - no sound at all (Speaker from a 5.1 PC speaker set)
- Oscilloscope measured from the CANBUS/radio harnes from one speaker line coming out the head unit: 60Hz sine wave less than a millivolt, think that means no sound coming out the Head unit output.
- Tried all avaliable CAN Type options for citroen, steering wheel buttons work with all of them, no sound with any of them.
- Volume has been set to max "40 units".
- Original radio still works.
- Tried to look for some apps on google play that may control sound output, found only one, did not do anything.
- Tried all the apps: Radio, Music app, BT music, Aux mode, Spotify, Youtube, phone call (mic works) - no sound output from any app.
- Canbus works, the steering wheel buttons work and travel distance data is being transmitted to the head unit.
- Tried asking for OS update files from other Ali sellers, all refused to share (not compatible and such).
What I noticed:
- All the Citroen Canbus models in the head unit settings have 2008-2015 models, the ad said compatible with 2004-2008 car models - maybe the Canbus is incorrect for my car (I have Raise PSA-RZ-15)?
- There is no AMP wire coming from the cars side.
- There are no audio settings in the Head unit, Only an equalizer and a balance setting front to back and left to right, that's it. Other head units seem to have more options in the OS.
My Questions:
1. Should audio work without CANBUS?
2. If there is an amp in my car and it communicates with CANBUS, can I turn it on without canbus? (I have not seen an AMP wire in my car - nothing blue with a white stripe or similar)
3. Does anyone have any suggestions what to try to get any sound?
4. Are there any other car androids I could install and test?
a. (EDIT: I found this post on XDA, and this post, and this post, as far as I understand there is an MCU and a MTCD, one of them carries android the other is like bios that bridges the car system to the android, in my case, the sound issue could be from either of them)
5. If it's not android, what hardware should I check? I am decent with soldering and similar electronics, just Head Units are new to me.

Thank you for the response. I improved the format, hope it helps. I unfortunately don't know what MTCD/E means, I did not find anything on google. Therefore I am not sure if I have an MTCD/E device. I am familiar with electronics but head units are new to me. My first experience with them has been severely disappointing. Hope I can get this unit working and learn something along the way.
What does MTCD/E mean and how do I know what device I have?
If I am in the wrong place, is there a better sub forum on XDA I can post my question to?
Hi, I have requested a Mod moves to [Android Head-units] forum.

Peugeot 407 SW with Android system - can't hear sound

Hello everyone
I have a 2006 Peugeot 407 SW and I installed a 2 din radio with Android. Connected every wire into its place, but I do have a few issues:
First, the private seller didn't told me anything about setting it up. But I managed to find the 6 digit-code accessible settings (what I found it was 000000 through a Google search) where I can setup the right type of canbus for it.
Ok, the canbus device I've been given is a Raise PSA-RZ-15, so thats the one I selected back in the options.
Steering wheel commands do work ok.
When I set the gear to reverse, it tries to obtain the back camera image (I don't have the back camera installed yet, but its ok).
And there are a few numbers in the trip statistics screen, so it gathered the travels I made recently.
But I can hear no sound, either from radio or from USB or Youtube through a wireless connection.
Any ideas? Do I need a different canbus device? Or I just need to select a different device in the advanced settings?
Thanks
If the unit is working then most likely you just connected the wrong wires.
I've got a Peugeot as well, so most likely you will have a similar connector to mine.
There should be a big male type connector for the one you removed from the back of your original radio. You have a female type connector which connects to this big one and the other side which is much smaller, and that connects to the headunit itself. Make sure it's connected together properly and the fastener is closed.
The canbus decoder is for the headunit to be able to communicate with the vehicle canbus. This makes the trip info appear on the screen, and the steering wheel controls to work. The one you have with your unit is usually enough for most people, but there is an upgraded version which can display A/C information and steering wheel angle too(for reversing).
If the steering wheel controls are not working, that's because you need to set the canbus decoder type in the settings. If your exact car type is not listed try something like 308, 408 or Berlingo, or RZC.
Well, I can't just have connected the wrong wires because I did not made any manual connections with the wires. I just plugged everything where they could fit; each connector only has 1 socket to fit. Its like having 1 USB, 1 VGA and 1 Serial ports and connect them all. Can't make it wrong.
As I have said, the steering wheel controls ARE WORKING.
The reverse gear activates the rear camera view.
I just can't hear anything.
In the advanced options panel, the canbus I have selected IS the canbus module I have, but that one refers as being to another vehicle. The one listed as being a 2006 407 Peugeot is actually a Hiworld.
What I want to know is:
Do I need to exchange this Raise and get the Hiworld module or just change this in the options? I tried several Raise ones but none makes the unit plays sound.

In fact is a CVD1810 / 8227 system. I have steering wheel controls and reverse camera. Just need to know what canbus to select in the options. The real one I have is Raise PSA RZ 15 and ofc I tried that one. No sound. Tried a bunch of others, no sound.
Do you have a link for the product?
Also, can you take a picture of your old head-unit and the wiring for the new unit?
Ok here ya go.
DSC_0060 is the cable from the car.
DSC_0061 is the cable connected to the canbus.
DSC_0077 is the back of the old unit
About that product link, as I bought it from some guy here in Portugal for a 2 day faster shipping, I don't have any link, but I can provide a link to a very similar unit (and to confirm my idea that the problem is the canbus module, as this following link, the supplied canbus is the one I want to try next). In fact, I have ordered it through Aliexpress and am waiting for it to be delivered and check it out (just the Hiworld module and the cable, not the whole unit).

Hello again!
I have an update here:
I ordered the canbus Hiworld W25, wich is apropriate for Peugeot 407, and in fact I can see now all vehicle informations on screen like A/C and such. But the sound is still not coming to the car speakers... I'm starting to believe its a faulty wiring or something from the unit itself...
Another update:
My car has JBL speakers, subwoofer and amplifier. So the regular canbus ordered is not enough. I need a Peugeot 407 with JBL speakers specific canbus. Maybe the Raise PSA RZ 67 will do this?
You need to make sure your audio cable is connected. You can search for installation videos on youtube, about the screen that appears when reversing, you can ask the seller where to set it up, this feature can be turned off.

All cables seem connected in their places. What happens, some guy in Peugeot forums sent me this link:
https://pt.aliexpress.com/item/1005004252265202.html?gatewayAdapt=glo2bra
Its a canbus + cable for Peugeot 407, and this cable has a TON of connectors my current cable doesn't. I assume this cable will solve my issue, so maybe I don't need to mess up with the wires.
Hello!
I have received the new canbus + cable, wich I got from here:
https://pt.aliexpress.com/item/1005004252265202.html?spm=a2g0o.order_detail.0.0.4d864c7fNv8ICh&gatewayAdapt=glo2bra
And it actually WORKS! I have sound from the car speakers with the cheap android unit!
The android unit itself, its very very similar to the ones on this product, like the M150S.

Well yes, this harness has a speaker on it (like my previous one). The difference is this one has more connectors to plug to the original radio and send the sound signal to the android.
When parking, I see the graphic on screen with red and orange bars depending if I'm close to some object, or very close. And it displays where the object is. Similar to this image:
