Official Twitter app launched for Android

This has just started to spread itself around the web - I got the message via mashable but I then hurried along to the Android Marketplace only to find no such app listed. A friend has a 2.1 Desire and he's got it. Another disappointment for Hero and it's 1.5....
I'm on a 2.1 Rom and it works great
Sent from my Hero using the XDA mobile application powered by Tapatalk
Yes, i think its the best twitter app for android.
But there is no fullscreen widget for the homescreens (such as HTC Peep)
Only half screen size widget which you can see only one tweet
This epitomises the whole 2.1 debacle.
Its an open UI FFS and the market is evilly fragmented and despondent. Google should be applying pressure here to balance this thing out.
Without them the OS would not exist and the manufs could not 'freeride' on the back of it.
All that money and early adoption. I would have been better off sticking with my Kaiser and then waiting for a 2.1 equipped handset.
The 'Desirers' will be in the same position in 4 months though if HTC have a Legend2 or Infinite or whatever they choose to release

WANTED: Date Calculator app for Android Wear

I don't have a smartwatch yet, but anticipate getting one soon (birthday coming up). At work, I deal with some grocery items and I have to compute sell by dates on a regular basis. Example: Today's date + 15 days from now = ??
Is there an Android Wear app that will take care of this?
Thank you.

[Announcement] Android N Developer Preview will be released today!

Preview images: Android N preview images will be available today for the Nexus 6, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, General Mobile 4G (Android One), Nexus Player, Nexus 9, and Pixel C.
Android Beta Program: Google is announcing a new Android Beta Program to make it easier to try new versions of Android on your development devices via OTA(http://g.co/androidbeta). (Update: This site is broken until later today, per Google.)
Multi-window: Android N finally adds support for split-screen multitasking ("multi-window"), which OK very cool, but! The new multi-window API also allows for picture-in-picture video, which I think is way more exciting. Persistent mini-YouTube window anywhere in the OS? Yes please. But it's not clear if that's for all devices or only Android TV - Google cites TV as an example.
Direct reply notifications: You know the handy direct reply features of Hangouts and Messenger in the notification bar? There's now a whole API so any app can add a standardized direct reply feature. This is potentially huge - we'll have to see how developers take advantage of it.
Bundled notification handling: Ever get tired of Gmail or Hangouts eventually just giving you an "X new notifications" or a bulk list of items when things stack up that you have to basically address by going into the app? Android N introduces bundled notifications - notifications that contain multiple items can be expanded to show all items in the list, allowing you to take actions on each item (for example, deleting 3 emails in a list of 10) individually, instead of having to act on them as a group or go into the app itself. Together with direct reply, Android's notification bar is about to get a hell of a lot more powerful.
Improved Doze mode: Google hasn't specified how exactly (yet), but Doze mode is getting even better at sipping power when your phone's display is turned off. Details on how much less power will be consumed on average weren't provided, as I'm guessing Google is still fine-tuning Doze's new improvements. Hopefully we'll know more when N leaves the preview stage.
Java 8: Android now supports Java 8 language features through the Jack compiler we detailed over a year ago.
$150 off Pixel C for developers: As a way to encourage developers to test out N on tablets, Google is offering $150 off the Pixel C for devs here.
A "final" N release will happen this summer: Hiroshi Lockheimer says Android N will be shipping in "final release" form to device makers "this summer." That means OTAs for existing devices could come any time between June 21st and September 21st - but I suspect we'll learn more about that at Google I/O. At least, hopefully.

g920i user here too... This is the last time i buy a samsung flagship device. Not one release. Meanwhile 920f users are complaining because their specific CSC hasn't been released even though they've had MM for ages lol.
Note 5 in Korea getting second round of updates.. A few SM-G920F have also started to get the second round of updates. Then SM-G920I getting the MM in Q3 2016.
I wonder if devs successfuly make working AOSP source from cyanogenmod, will they be able to easily port N preview to S6?
Holy molly. I think I just came up with the best theory on what N's name will be. Heard of Nerds? Nerds Candy. These candies are made by Nestle. What version of Android that has a Nestle name? KitKat. If you press a button in Kitkat, the highlight action is square. In Lollipop and Marshmallow, circle. Android N cannot be Nutella. It has no form. Nerds on the other hand is kind of circle. N still has the circle highlight action. Check the pictures below. Nerds candies and N's wallpaper. Coincidence? Just a crazy theory on my side. xD

This is an awesome theory mate! :good:
But I think Nerds candy is a bit big for OS name, or maybe not. They can drop candy and say "Android for NERDS"
oh thanks..this is i am waiting for .

Is my head unit shows fake info?

Hi, I bough new head unit from aliexpress, and I would like to know is these info from CPUz ale correct or fake, because it shows it has Android 10, but Api level is 27 which means Android 8.1., also in system info is this line:
FINGERPRINT: alps/full_8227L_demo/8227L_demo:8.1.0/O11019/1571038753:userdebug/test-keys
Can be cpuz faked?
here is speclist from spec device app

Hi there, I have also purchased an Android 10 headunit from aliexpress which I believe may in fact be an android 8.1/9 system. The product I purchased was a seicane h6032n however the seicane official website shows that the only product which resembles mine that they make is an android 8.1 or 9 unit. I believe that the reseller has falsely advertised and it is possible for the info to show an android version other than the installed true version. I believe you should open up a fispute asap. I will confirm this myself when I get my unit in 2 weeks and if necessary will request a refund due to the false advertising of the product.
Yes I opened a dispute before few minutes. I searched a lot on internet and here on xda and didnt found head unit with Android 10. Only with 9.1 max... So I really believe it must be fake value. I actually paid little bit more for this unit just because I believed its Android 10... So will see if they give me some refund
Do someone have experience with disputes and providing evidence?
They wrote me from Ali that I must provide high-quality evidence that clearly showcases the differences between the received product and what was displayed or described by the seller.
And I dont know what they want me to do, I already uploaded photos from CPU-Z where is Android version 10, but its fake value, because Api level is 27, which means its Android 8.1, Android 10 have Api level 29. And its not enough for them...

You should link them to the official seicane website and point out that if the actual manufacturer/company 'Seicane' does not sell an android 10 unit that matches your headunit then how is it they are selling you an android 10 headunit. In my case I have looked around and cannot find a product that is the exact same from Seicane official website that has android 10, only android 8.1 and 9. Try looking for more apps that can show you your android version, get a whole bunch of screenshots from different apps and send it to them proving it is being picked up as an android 8.1 unit
But I dont have seicane, I have this one:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32951172235.html?spm=a2g0s.12269583.0.0.c40f6493fosqcR
And they dont have any oficial website
But will try to send them more screenshots
just for let you know, Ali refunded me 52 dollars from total cost of 260 dollars, Iam ok with that result
Did you find any app that shows the real hardware/android info, mine shows android 10 but I know its 6.0, also the device shows 2GB ram but only has 1. Thanks
yes, you can use cpuz, aida or spec device, all of these showed me real hardware expect version of android. They showed me it is Android 10, but Api level was 27, which mean its 8.1, because android 10 have APi level 29. And I believe that APi level cannot be faked, so look what APi u have, if it is Api 23, than its Android 6

Thanks for your reply,
Well, API level corresponds to the android 10 but it's not, apparently, they found a way to change it too, CPU Z is showing 2GB ram too, but even when I open 10 or 15 apps at the same time, ram usage stays static at 45% used.
Thats interesting, I didnt know that it can be faked too.
It would be good if someone knows how to get the right values, if all these apps can be faked
I just tested my ram with app called RAM Truth, and as you can see in the photos, seems like 675 mb of my ram is used as cache memory, thats why system using just half.
In my case, doesnt matter how many apps I have running available 37 percent of RAM
ANd I have no idea where to change it, or if its good to have this cache memory

Send them back, dont enable these scammers.
Its not that easy, I already payed customs, and sending it back would be another customs + post, Ali offered me only 20 dollars coupon if I send it back... and Android version doesnt mean so much for me, atleast they refunded me 52 dollars for that. If I had only 1GB ram version I would definitely send it back or want atleast 75 percent refund...
I'm currently also dealing with an AlliExpress seller, that sold me an Android head-unit with false Android version. Just like in your case: it's running Android 8.1 instead of Android 10.
First I provided photos of the outcome of CPU-Z and Fake Device Test: but AlliExpress asked me, to provide more details. So I made a video, where I go from the home screen to settings. Show the fake Android version and then open Fake Device Test, which shows its running Android 8.x
Also edited the photos, and described what I'm pointing out. And included the product pictures, of the product I bought. The device it self runs okayish, for Android Auto use and using built-in apps. But running apps like Google Maps on the device itself, that's a bit to slow. So I will be only using it for the reverse camera and Android Auto.
I wouldn't recommend getting these Quad-Core headunits: because I had good experience with Nexus 7 which run on a Quad-Core A9, which should similar in performance of a Arm A7 nowadays. That's why I though, it couldn't be that bad.
But Nexus 7 was running Android 4 and this is running Android 8.x and it seems, many Android apps are requiring more performance from the system. That's why you should pick atleast Octacore, if you wish to run these apps straight from the device.
AlliExpress also firstly gave as a solution to send it back: but I don't consider it a solution, because I wouldn't have ordered it in the first place if the seller was honest about Android version. So I'm also hoping to get a partial refund, the best would be full refund. But the device is still useable, for the purpose I originally wanted it for.

PX5 4G ram with Android 10, someone already tested them?

Hello,
I saw that in Chinese online markets are available car auto heads with Android 10.
The hardware specs are the usual (cpu PX5, 4 gb ram etc), is safe to buy them or we should wait or choose an android 9 radio in order to have stability?
Any way to root them in near future?
I searched online but there are no reviews in youtube for these android 10 units.
Thank you!!
Axl
they must be the coronavirus special edition
you want stability? choose android 8

Once installed in the new car, I would like to keep it for the next 10 years approximately.
I guess that Android 8 will be prehistory in 2030
Before to buy an Android 10 unit, I will wait for the first reviews and (fingers cross!) first root/mod experiments here in xda.

i bet you won't keep the whole car for 10 years, forget the android unit
we will have android automotive by then, hope more OEMs jump on that bandwagon. For now only Volvo will use it this year on the XC40 electric / Polestar 2. Later on, Audi and Fiat/Chrysler will join.

i bought the IB90MTVL, 4GB Android 10. So far it runs without any problem.

I Purchased the same radio from xtrons but the only issue I'm having so far is trying to hide the system status bar been trying to find a fix but most of them require root which the head unit is not or adb and I have no clue on how to adb into this head unit.
