It is my second week with matepad pro i really like it and enjoying the device. The M-pencill not arrive yet.

ok , my spec is the lowest spec 6gb ram 128gb wifi china rom.
i will start with the
con:
1. feel slight heavier if u hold it for a long time (eg watching dramas/ gaming)
other than that, i dont have any negative feelings so far
2. i received fast charger instead of superfast charger due to the tablet imported from china, but i am using mate20x so i have superfast charger avaiable, aint a problem for me.
pro:
1. big battery capacity, can last for a long time, i play 2~3 hrs pubg, from 100% to 60~50%, wow
2. i dont miss google play tbh, personally i can live without gms, bear in mind the tablet i bought online, seller helped me to pre install google play. However when it reach my hand, most of the daily apps i use (banking apps, swipe (FB) , waze (map direction), games like cod, pubg, onepunchman, movies / drama apps. i downloaded all either from apkpure / official websites. i have no problem running wechat / whatsapp on my tablet too, so its kinda BS for those who rant about unable to run banking apps / social media apps.
3. superfast charging, well i only have 22.5w charger head but its already fast enough for me, just need 1 ~2 hrs to bump up 100%
4. no significant lag on gaming so far, even though matepadpro doesnt support pubg mobile HDR graphic, it will gets quite warm if i do gaming for 2 hrs above, but it doesnt affect u as the heated area is on the top right corner.
5. using huawei cloud, quite handy to store my personal pics
6. china version of app gallery, there are SO MANY APPS/ GAMES avaiable, compare to global version of app gallery, so its a big wow when i try to run on some of the games, very nice indeed.

PERFORMANCE: Multitasking/RAM

You're busy and don't have time to wait, which is why you need to stop reading this thread and get back to organizing your Pogs. Rate this thread to express how the Note5 performs when multitasking. A higher rating indicates that the Note5 keeps many apps in memory so that they don't need to reload, and that when moving between apps, transitions are smooth and performance is excellent.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
By default, the multitasking is simply awful. The phone can't seem to hold more than 6 or 8 background ups in quick succession, and idling only makes it worse. This really drags down the phone like it did with the S6. Some argue that Samsung opted for this route for cache reasons, but it's ultimately annoying. However, some fixes have been found, coincidentally the same ones that work on the S6 & S6 Edge. Both the DHA and FHA build.prop edits make multitasking what it should be, so we have to thank XDA for that. If you are rooted, I recommend trying that. I haven't tested it extensively and better fixes might come around, but it does allow it to perform on the same level as the OnePlus 2 and ZenFone 2 in terms of app-holding.
@TachyonGun can you kinda go into detail on the multitasking u do?
I haven't toggled more than 4 apps and I'm very satisfied. My only gripe is some Apps do not support split screen or popup mode.
@jon_htc I do Google Slides + Google Docs in class, Youtube + Reddit or Youtube + XDA on breaks, Chrome + Wordpress for certain work-related situations, Papyrus + PDF readers for homework, and many other use-cases that just pop up during casual usage. The secret is to treat apps like windows instead of isolated islands that can be on-screen one at a time. For example, if I am watching a video and need to reply to a text, I shrink the video and open the text.
Havent noticed any ram or app background issues. Then again I may be part of the abnormal bunch and only use 1 or 2 apps at a time or dont constantly close and open tons of apps to prove something. Safe to say, I dont notice the issue and if it is there, it wont bother me.
i used to have a s6 and if note 5 got the same multitasking settings, it's gonna be very very annoying. the recent app reloading thing is simply the same experience on iPhone 6, which is awful. shouldn't happen on a 4GB ram phone.
Lets not forget that true multi tasking would be split view and multi window which is where the Note is the ruler of them all.
Switching between apps is part of multi tasking, but not the main part of it. But yes the ram management does reload some apps.
I had to use few tweaks and rom replacement. which made it much better.
If your still on lollipop with this phone. Stay where you are. The multitasking performance is about the same. If you multi apps running, like youtube and text messaging or twitch and facebook messenger its fast. I didn't see a major performance difference between lollipop and marshmallow. I don't close any of my apps, I mostly let them run in the background and not kill them. There was an issue on the note 3 yes, but the note 5 can handle multitasking and very good use of the new ram algorithm are a fantastic combination. This phone is fast, can handle all the apps. I Have about 50 apps running right now, multiple screen shots taking and saved, running messenger while watching HD youtube, Netflix and twitch with no problem.

Sony Z5 Snapdragon 810 SoC Temperature heat map - heatpipe test - video

Hello friends,
I did a quick test video created about overheating
In this video are runs two benchmark test (first antutu and later Geekbench3)
in the attachment is a screenshot of the temperature profile, I had a maximum of 80 degrees in this test.
is this now too hot for a smartphone ? What is your opinion on it?
Surface temp didn't exceed 43C? That's pretty good. As far as the internal SoC temp goes, 70-80C can happen on any phone. Here's a 4K test on S6. It hit >70C after 5 minutes of 4K shooting.

in my 5min test goes the temp not over 44C, I can test the week continue ,to increase temp
The fact people on here states it gets noticeably warm doing basic tasks eg web browsing its alarming for me mostly.
I guess the 820 on 14nm will help, from what I've seen the S6 can remain relatively cool after running benchmarks.
Based on my experience:
- doesn't get warm / hot when doing browsing, facebook, other lightweight apps.
- easy to get warm (but NOT hot) when using camera, playing intensive games (e.g. Hearthstone, Asphalt) and viewing media
- only gets HOT when recording 4K video for a long time (but other people are exaggerating .. it doesn't get too hot for me to hold, experienced practically the same for my Z1)
All in all, isn't really a huge deal breaker for me. Some people just take it way out of context because of the SnapDragon 810 issues from before.

My experience is, is hot when doing browsing , at 4k recording (5min) it is normally warm.

I can this week to create a new video in which I reproduce this: 4K recording, playing games and browsing.
if you have something which make temperature trouble, please let me know

Dunno how much 3DMark stresses the phone but mine only got mildly hot after running a few suites, and that was just after running another Unigine based bench.

Weird performance @ 3D - Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (s-Pen)

Hi! I'm experiencing some issues with my tablet , while playing some games . . . i . e. while running Asphalt 8 , it stutter a lot, but if I click on the multitask button and then return , it stop stuttering for a few moments , as you can see on the following video (btw , sorry for the video orientation ...)
I Know that the gpu Mali 830 is a bad mobile gpu , but This performance is really weird for me .
Thanks
Hi buddy, I have the 4g LTE model and it's similar to yours, sorry to tell you that this performance is absolutely normal and you have no issues on your tablet , the map you're playing is Tokyo which is a heavy one with graphics, try other maps and you'll see that sometimes you won't see a single stutter , also go to settings and put graphic performance to medium not high , you should be good to go, as for how to deactivate capacitive buttons for accidentally pressing them , look here in the forum there is some tips to do just that.
Keep in mind buddy that this tablet is pretty good for its price, paying three times what you paid for it on an iPad pro will get you high settings on Asphalt and with no noticeable stutter but deos it worth it? This tablet can do pretty much everything the iPad pro can , even the stylus you have it and it was included with it so you don't have to pay extra 100$ for it like iPad pro owners do ? also battey life on this tab is phenomenal, thanks to its low consumption chips . Life is full of compromises ?
I agree! I love this tablet, gaming is just a detail. He is incredible, and I Will use it mainly for work.
But, ive saw some videos with his 2GB variation of this tablet, where the game is running almost stutter free.
Btw, i was playing on medium
Have a nice day!

Samsung Tab A6 10.1 with S-pen (P585Y)
iPad Pro 9.7 + Apple Pencil (more than twice the price)
I have both in my house. Yes iPad provides a lot more polished experience, however, there are too many restrictions in iOS & you have to adjust your way of working according to it. Android is a lot more value & you can customise it to your liking to a large extent.
Horses for course, different equipment for different tastes.

We do have adoptable storage on P585 without root, but its of limited use, since not all of the app data is moved to the external storage, most of it still remains on the internal storage.
Yep, battery life is great. However, charging the battery again is a bother, need to leave it charging overnight. The 7300 mAh battery is a beast.
I certainly hope so, especially since its quite a recent release. The last year's model received P555 Marshmallow, so this one, P585 may very well get Nougat too.

But , you guys have any thought about why the game stop lagging for a few moments after i open the multi- task window and then return to the game ?
Received an update today... Where can I check the Patch updates ?
Finalyyyyyyy
Dude, you have same problem like me. This device is nightmare. Yeah i have problem exactly like yours. I play brave fighter 2, the game is small, you can consider it as low end game, but stuttering every where. Yeah, if i push multi task button, and restore the game, it run smooth, only for 3 seconds, then it will stuttering again. I go to samsung fecking center, to ask why my device is like sheet. They said it because the screen type, feck then, i think they dont know the problem.
This is the worst samsung device i ever have

now i m waiting for custom rom

[root & non-root fix] buttery smooth gaming & no fps drop [100% working]

Anyone else notice the lag when playing games?
Especially Blazblue, Bleach Brave Souls, 3D games, etc?
WELL youve found the right place here!
ROOT SOLUTION (100% LAG FREE)
Buttery JUST like an iphone 7! 100% LAG FREE
1)Install BatMan Rom in the Samsung S8 Rom development (Credits for making the rom!)
2)Install PekakaKernel
3) Root as Usual with magisk
4) After phone has been setup, download Kernel audiutor app
5) Before you play your game, set Minimum and Maximum both to 2314mhz for the BIG cpu & LITTLE cpu & GPU to min & max 572mhz
6) Click on governor and change to "Performance"
7) At the top of the settings page, click Apply on Boot
8)DONE! Enjoy your iphone buttery Gaming experience!
My lag in Bleach Brave souls and every other game has gone. So happy I made the decision to go custom rom & kernel!
NON-ROOT SOLUTION:
(decreases lag by ~40%!)
1)Install new launcher (nova) or anything light weight. Do not use Samsung's stock launcher.
2) Install Samsung's Game Tuner App & set your game settings to HW +5, and your resolution to however you like. I have mine on 100% as it feels snappier.
3) DONE!
you should notice 30-50% less lag and games will be actually be "playable" (remember to always play with game tuner app, with HW+5 setting) but you will still feel the lag here and there and in certain graphic intensive situations, it will still drop frame but its your best non-root solution!
if this worked for you, please donate me a beer or 2 thru my paypal at [email protected] cheers!
Same here man. Even a game as simple as the Tsum tsum game lags. My wife ain't happy about that as her iphone had no issues with games.

Eg I'm playing bleach, when skills are used the phone lags like an iPhone 4. Now thus is a powerful device it should not lag lag like this.
Have expiremented with game launcher, high performance mode different resolutions, etc to no avail.

What kind of lag are you experiencing in Bleach, Co-op lag or standard quest? I haven't had any issues, playing right now.
Just tried the game out and have zero lag. Smooth like my pixel.

I would say when it comes to apps specially gaming give at least a month before updates for them start rolling out. Most of them aren't optimised for the Galaxy S8. Once updates start rolling out i believe the experience will get a whole lot smoother.
anybody plays Mobile Legends?
my problem is the game isn't smooth.
there's constantly lag/delay.
I've tried downloading Package Disabler Pro, and disabled GamePad & Game Services.
it did make my game smoother, but the lag/delay still can be felt.
You can really notice the difference when you play something on iOS then play on this phone. Marvel Contest of champions is my go to game. Open that game on this phone and on an iPhone, not onlky does the iphone open is much faster, going through the menus is a breeze.
Tsum Tsum lags on this phone as well compared to the iphone and so does subway surfers. This is pretty pathetic with suppose top of the line specs.
Same here. Playing Fifa Mobile and it lags. This is really frustrating. Such a device and than this. Even on my old huawei p9 no lags. Anybody found a solution?

No, Mali g71 is already supported on Mate9/P10, while Adreno 540 on non Samsung device already runs Riptide Renegade at 2k ultra settings and 60fps for an hour!
The SoC is clearly crippled on the s8 for battery score, high performance mode is BS, you really can do nothing before root to fix it, believe me I have been trying on my friends s8
I haven't had any such problems and I play marvel contest of champions and star wars force arena.
Not a hint lag or slowdown hardwear wise.

No lag on mine either. Whether gaming or during anything. Phone is extremely fast.
Another thing, Just play
Skyforce reloaded on an exynos S8 vs s821 device to see the much inferior graphics, Mali's support is not great
I have severe problems playing Hearthstone. It sometimes doesn't register clicks and freezes for a couple of seconds.
I have no problems with lag, but I do with crashing. Bleach Brave Souls is constantly crashing. Froze game launcher, no launcher.

High performance mode doesn't make any changes to the cpu or gpu, sadly - only display resolution, brightness, etc. g71 is on mate9/p10, but with less cores = less heat. Also only Samsung goes extreme to gain a little more battery life. Sad as in reality you pay so much for super high end phone and the games play worse vs 3 years old phones. This is unacceptable, but Samsung gets away with it every years and keep doing it.
I think anyone posting here should make the distinction of they have exynos or s835 s8, the exynos version is just pathetic in running any game and if it runs good initially just play 5 minutes before it goes to hell, a phone with such hype and raving reviews should not be given a blind eye about this, it's inexcusable including the UI which lags in every corner
I just hope the s835 version runs things better (I know the UK doesnt)

3 days after using the Realme X2 Pro review

So i have used this phone now for 3 days now. There's a lot of bloatware included in my device (China ROM) but i was able to uninstall most of them, System Apps not included. Then i tried to use a launcher with no success. The phone doesn't allow you to change default launcher. The selection pane is there but "Nova Launcher" is no where to be found. The 50W fast charge is the real deal and the 90hz display is fluid especially when compared side by side with a 60hz display phone. Brightness is awesome under direct daylight and the lowest brightness is also good on night time or before going to bed. The storage is very fast and i was able to install large sized games (2-4gb) with relative ease (around 5-10 seconds). Then there's the keyboard which sucks, cause it's tailored for Chinese people so i install "Switfkey". Overall the phone is a beast, i installed google play and everything went well after that. Battery is okay, 4000mAh, enough to last the phone throughout the day, with 90hz display enabled.
I have bought this phone for gaming. 90hz and 855+ is really what i'm after, which point's to the biggest disappointment for me. This phone doesn't run games on 90hz. i have tried several fps unlocked games and all of them hover around 50-60fps. Biggest turn-off for me.
Here's my rating so far:
Battery: 8/10
Charge time: 9/10
Ergonomics: 8/10
Size: 7/10 (it's pretty thick especially with a case)
Camera: no rate yet, more testing needed
Display: 6/10 (Big Disappointment, hope they give it an updated fix soon)
Performance: 8/10 (uses around 3-4gb of RAM without any opened APPS, need more RAM optimization)

Uninstall default launcher with adb commands, than you can use any launcher you want (download your preferred launcher before).
What do you mean it doesn't run games at 90hz? That doesn't make any sense. If the display can do 90hz then things should run at 90hz on default

You can normally switch launcher. I'm using Microsoft Launcher without any problem. You can set it in default app. Maybe it's cause you have Chinese rom, in global there's no problem with switching default launcher.

It depends on the game if it supports 90 Hz or not
for example Pupg dosent support 90 Hz, only 60 Hz, that why you could see just 60 Hz

for example Pupg dosent support 90 Hz, only 60 Hz, that why you could see just 60 Hz

Install your preferred launcher from play store first
adb shell
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.oppo.launcher
Hola, me podrían decir si el GPS es de doble frecuencia?, Gracias
Regarding 90 Hz it is not the phone fault /
There are very few apps supporting 90 120 Hz playing right now.
You have a comprehensive list on androidpolice.com

Mine just arrived, China ROM. Play Store nowhere to be found. I tried to manually install and it says "a newer version is already installed." Am I missing something?

Unrelated to the FPS, but does realme X2 Pro have Private DNS in the network settings? thanks.
Same problem here, games run at 60fps max, why?

Yes, it has this setting (EU version from official website).
I managed to run alto at 90 fps changing random settings (i cannot reproduce), but the next time I opened it, again capped at 60 fps.

Yeah a bit disappointed with the display and it feels heavy with a case.
I'm using an indonesian x2 pro, nova launcher can be set up just fine for me.
