Nexus 7 vs Nexus 7 overclocked (in terms of gaming performance)

Anyone ever test gaming performance (both native android games and games on emulators like NDS4Droid) to see how much of a difference overclocking made? Also how does the Nexus 7 compare to tablets with OMAP4470 (like the Kindle Fire HD 8.9,Nook HD+, Kobo Arc)? I've read that the OMAP4470 is faster than the non-OC Tegra 3.
I was just wondering because I'm going to be getting a tablet soon and it would be cool if it could handle gaming well.
Overclocking should give you a performance boost, however it may not give you a major speed boost.
@ jon7701
Yeah, I was just wondering how big a performance boost it would be. The thing is, if no amount of overclocking on the Tegra 3 or the regular OMAP4470 will ever be able to run newer emulators like NDS4Droid at anywhere near playable speeds, I'll just settle for the JXD S7300 or Archos Gamepad.
Seeing as how most anything nowadays can emulate the PSX/N64/SNES/NES/GBA/etc... The JXD and Archos systems have microSD slot, physical buttons (complete with dual analog nubs), dual cameras (this is more fluff than anything), and can be rooted easily (the makers of those tablets all but encourage it).
Would the Mali400MP4 and Mali400MP2 be able to handle most of the native android games (like the stuff from Gameloft)?
Anyone that has an overclocked Nexus willing to test NDS4Droid gameplay speed?
Which games would you like tested? I was thinking about trying it myself. I notice a significant difference from stock vs overclocked in n64 emulators.

If you could test Super Mario 64 for the Nintendo DS using NDS4Droid and tell me how well it plays? Also what did you overclock your CPU and GPU to?

Dead or Alive + : The "ultimate" cpu test

Does anybody have MAMEreloaded 139 installed? If so, could you please test out Dead or Alive +? That game plays slow on Tegra 3, A6X, Snap 600 and every other chipset tested. Even with speed hacks activated. Basic laptops did not start playing that game smooth with MAME until about three years ago. 3D games with no gpu assist use the cpu for the work.
The roms needed to test are doapp.zip (the game) and tcs.zip (the bios). If this plays smooth, that would mean Soul Calibur has a shot too. I doubt it will play smooth, since extra cpu power means more heat and battery power. Perhaps we are at diminished returns until 20 nM chipsets are released to offset the heat issues for more cpu power for apps. Point being, the Snap 600 cpu benchmarks are double that of the Snap Pro dual, but the speed increase for Dead or Alive was about 10% at best (still far too slow).

You know: If you want people to help you then write more.
So, what is MAMEreloaded 139? A DreamCast emulator?!

I would have thought anybody that is a "true" gamer (typical Shield buyer) would know what it is
It is an arcade emulator that is free in then Play market. Android version of MAME.
I tried it with MAMEreloaded and a Dead or Alive ROM, but it looks like the emulator only uses one core, so it's wicked slow. More of a software issue than the Shield not having enough power.

[Q] gaming problem

hello everyone ,,,
i've bought the lenovo a3000h tablet recently,, and it works great but i'am facing a little problem with hd games
like real racing 3 or gt racing 2 ,, simply it's just heavy especially when there is competitors with you in the race it gets so baaaaad
but on the other hand modern compat 4 works great and many other games
note:: there's about 550mb of free ram and i close any other application before starting a game
so can any body help me ??!!!
a3000 tab is using SGX544MP2 so the default setting that would be detected by the game is high setting, but in other hand, the processors itself only able to run low to medium quality graphic because its quiet low speed 1,2 even quad-core basis, so its make some of games quiet laggy.
In your case, downloar RR3 setting on the play store, and change the game setting at low to medium 2 its up to you, i guarantee youre gonna get 20-30+ fps
in other games if you meet semiliar problem, you can use gltool / chainfire, but i recommend gltool its safter, and check the glshader optimization for better performance, and use fake gpu, downgrade the gpu to tegra 2 or SGX540 its working for most game
hope it'll help

FPS Drops in all games

I bought Nokia 6 yesterday and I was really satisfied with the phone but I faced 2 issues with this phone
1- Games runs too slow
2- NO NOTIFICATION LIGHT
I was wondering if the FPS drop can be fixed in Oreo..
From an SD 430 don't expect too much performance in intensive games, for me this is not an issue, because i didn't game on a phone, for gaming i have PC.
And about no notification light, im with you,why the hell they remove it from global version ? Its not a big deal anyway, you can check your phone at random intervals,so this dosen't get me mad overall,Nokia 6 its a good phone and its more than enough for me,i only use this smartphone for calls, messages, surfing the internet, social apps, some shots with camera, and listen to music, belive me it doing well,+ keep in mind that the nokia will offer us clean android + fast updates, and this is amazing.
Try vulkan based games like need for speed no limit and vulkan ppspp emulator for run Tekken 6 ....
In mine all games running smoothly ..

Question about gpu boost in black shark 2 6gb/128gb

I got to know that after dialing *#*#666#*#* on my phone I can enable a gpu boost feature and after this feature is turned on , I get better benchmark results, but after playing games with gpu boost on I can see lag spikes in my games. I just wanted to know that does gpu boost increase gaming performance or is it only for benchmarking, Please Reply
