help miui 10 to miui 11 - Redmi K20 / Xiaomi Mi 9T Questions & Answers

So as soon as possible xiaomi will release the miui 11
For our devices and I am just asking how to be safe from bootloops
I want to remove magisk
Go to global stock (I am on it Already)
And keep the device unlocked
Without getting bootloops
But still getting Android 10(miui11)
Another question is why does miui tell me my device is locked and while booting it shows it is unlocked
Even though I got root
Thanks in advanced ???

You can install magisk on the global rom without twrp, it's a guide here on xda about how to do this

Official MIUI9 via Recovery?

Hey guys ! Maybe Us, the (proudly) Redmi 3S owners get soon the MIUI9 updated, but I have a question... Could us that we have Unlocked bootloader / Custom Recovery /Root just to flash .Zip packet like any official Rom? Or We must to flash it via Mi Flasher or OTA update? We can flash MIUI 9 update from both the TWRP and the stock recovery (if you're on it), so there's nothing to worry about. Even I have an unlocked bootloader and have flashed custom ROMs as well as MIUI using TWRP without any problems.

I have TWRP too, and also I flashed MIUI. I thought that MIUI9 could bring "New core" etc, We must to Flash it via stock/MI flash.... So I dont fear any more , waiting for MIUI9 for Redmi 3S :fingers-crossed:
Thank You!

Is my phone going to get bricked?

Hello I have Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus that is currently running on Pixel Experience. Before that i had xiaomi.eu rom 10.3.x.x... The latest rom for my phone from official Xiaomi rom site is 10.2.1.0..
Now the question is will my phone get bricked if i flash stock miui rom?
If you have unlocked bootloader, you can flash latest rom via mi-flash tool. It will not brick your device. Redmi 5 plus aka Vince doesn't have ARB feature. So you are free to flash any version of rom as long as your bootloader is unlocked.

Hi! No, in my experience, I used miui and custom roms, flashing it following their respective instructions and nothing went bad. Follow the instructions and you will go ok, but, if you fail, you will learn how fix it too

It doesn't matter, every time you install an update of firmware that message is showed, but remember if you come from miui stock or miui based rom, you need to format data

[rom][official][7.1] miui 11 [non-treble]

Changelog
UI changed a bit, core apps are updated, new file viewer and editor added and some bugs are fixed.
Disclaimer
I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, thermonuclear war or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if you blame me in any way for what happens to your device, I will laugh at you. BOOM! goes the dynamite ?
How to Flash/Install
Clean (Recovery)
1. Install The Latest TWRP
2. Wipe -> Advanced Wipe -> Wipe System + Cache + Dalvik's/Art cache + Internal Storage (optional) + Vendor (if rom is treble supported; if not don't wipe)
3. Install the Rom Package
4. Reboot
Dirty (Recovery)

2. Wipe Cache+Dalvik's/Art cache

MIUI Updater

2. Open MIUI Updater
3. Tap on three dot menu

Note
Keep in mind that Chinese builds do not come with Google Play Services or any Google apps pre-installed, though they are easy to sideload. The features may also be slightly different from what you expect from global builds as well, given that they’re focused towards the Chinese market. Lastly, the language options are likely limited to English and Chinese.

Hello, ia there anybody who can say if it is necessary to flash gapps with the new global stable miui 11 for santori?
Thanks so far
Hi
No need to flash gapps, these are already included in miui rom.
How to install a dark theme in the MIUI 11.0.2.0 global firmware, tell me please.
I'm coming from miui 10 eu version; flashing Global Stable 11 with last twrp-orangefox, it switches off near completion of rom flashing (clean), and after switching on manually, it gets stuck at powered by android screeen...kind of thinking, but stuck. twice i tried (had to reinstall orangefox again). so i could relive it, but i dont understand why its not letting itself be clean-installed.

Install the latest miui 10 then dirty flash top of that. I don't understand why this happened to you but I got success installing that way. however, I faced this problem when I tried to restore miui 10 twrp backup.
Right: dirty flash from miui.eu 10

You are right. On dirty flash from last miui 10, process seems to work with no issues...
Thanks for the tip
(edit: but then miui cam has some issues, like not connecting to gallery; gcam force closes with same magisk module it worked before perfectly, and then maybe it comes from dirty flashing...so if clean flash isnt working, i better wait for a new updated miui 11 version)

I meant official stable miui 10 not eu..
I found the UI of miui 11 a bit cartoonish! I'm not using that I'm happy with miui 10 beta ?
They have gone the Vivo oppo route with this new UI ?
Is there a fastboot tgz ROM available? It usually works better than flashing a ZIP file.

If I have Pixel Experience (Android 10) installed, can I normally return to MIUI 10 (Android 9) without any problem with the Miflash tool?

Same question. I'm going for the atom rom once I get to unlock mine, but I'm not sure how much of a problem it may turn out.

[Solved] Most Stable rom for Mi A1 Tissot and some other relevant questions.

Hi,
Its been a long time since I last rommed any phone. Last Was my beloved 'Bacon' (Oneplus One) which I rommed till it died.
I am trying to install a custom rom on my wife's Mi A1. Have a few questions.
Which is the most stable rom (Android 11 preferred but if android 11 isn't stable then android 10 will do). Trying to replace the boring stock rom with some much needed features. but don't need a super tweaked up rom. Stability is most important. : edit: installed lineage 18.1.
Can I directly flash TWRP 3.6.0_9-0-tissot over stock? As with Bacon, I needed to flash One recovery then another to get a version jump. like I cant directly flash twrp 3.x over stock. I needed to flash TWRP 2.xy and then 3.0. (example, not real version numbers.)
I don't need root. But I do need the device to pass SafetyNet as I need it to operate apps like Gpay (which does not work if device fails SafetyNet).
Can I re lock the bootloader after flashing TWRP? Would it help with SafetyNet situation?
OpenGapps still good?

1. There are plenty of stable roms, you can look at Xiaomi Mi A1 ROMs section to check them.
2. You can directly flash TWRP on stock rom.
3. ?
4. No
5. I use roms with pre-installed GApps for stablity.
