{Android 10} Good News For xiaomi mi 9t/K20 ?? - Redmi K20 / Xiaomi Mi 9T Questions & Answers

That’s pretty quick: Xiaomi Mi 9T said to get Android 10 next month
The Xiaomi Mi 9T (or Redmi K20) is one of the better mid-range smartphones on the market right now, available in China, Europe, India, and several other regions.
Fortunately, it seems like you won’t have to wait too long to get Android 10 on your device, as Xiaomi told AusDroid that the Mi 9T will receive the update in October.
That’s a pretty quick turnaround time for Android 10 compared to other manufacturers, although the Redmi K20 series has apparently received the update in China already.

We’re glad to see Xiaomi reportedly slap a launch window on the update though, and it means they’ll be part of the first wave of Android OEMs to offer Android 10. The update will bring a system-wide dark mode, Smart Reply for messaging apps, overhauled privacy controls, and security updates via the Play Store.

hi guys i think huwaei is busy in developing its new deices and as a market strategy ,its continue and focusing on new devices. As after 4 months thereis no update for our device and newly launch devices like 9 lite and 7 x which is cheaper in price and have almost same specs as we have.but for themhuwaei have update and our device doesnt getting a face unlock feature.i think its my big mistake to jump from mi to huawei.very slow or say no updates.shame on them.
i feel that we are cheated.
Never too late to sell your phone. I was blinded by the quad-camera hype as well and sold my Redmi Note 4... Now I'm sure as hell am going back to Xiaomi. Took them long to release the Note 5 Pro.
4 months????
Huawei gave Face unlock and AR Sticker just 2 months ago. There's beta testing going for Oreo in some regions. It has highest chances of getting Treble support, it bootloader can be unlocked, TWRP is available. Huawei will likely give it 2 major upgrades (O and P). Even after that you can flash GSI (with Treble support) of latest android (say Q). As Google is modularizing most stuff there will be a time when we can flash latest android version just like we flash latest Windows on old PCs.
If you feel cheated then think about us with a Samsung S8, Note 8 which is high end device and there's no treble support for us. We can't unlock BL (US models). We won't get exclusive S9 features through update (Huawei is giving face unlock through update, EMUI 8).
Still you think it's abandon..

My Device can't find February Patch. I've tried everything. No results.

Hello people, I can't patch my device to February Patch.
I'm stuck to January one.
I've tried EVERYTHING (updating Google Play Services via APK or signing to beta tester on Google Play).
At the end, I've done a factory reset, too.
My device IS NOT Rooted, and bootloader is LOCKED.
Someone can help me, please?
Thanks,
ghale
Me too. Brand new Xiaomi, just bought today. After setup, it downloaded two updates, Dezember and January update.
Maybe we should wait a little longer.
Wait for march update?? Sigh.
My wife's device too, same issue.
You mean you don't see an OTA update option? If so just wait a few days, it gets rolled out in batches. You are just unlucky.

Xiaomi stoped the release
Sent from my OnePlus 5T using Tapatalk
Ah.
So there are no updates for people that are on January, then?
Have you got some links where I can read about the stopped distribution, please?
Xiaomi has a weird habit of randomly cancelling released updates. Has done that before, will do that again. Chill out and just wait. And never buy anything based on Android One from them ever again - this company treats the MI A1 as an unwanted child. The February security update still has no official changelog 10 days after release.

I understand. Thanks for explaining me that.
Yep, I have 2 A1's, one for me and one for my wife, and neither has gotten the February update. I've asked Xiaomi about it through 2 FB groups, through the Feedback app and through email to their global support. I have not received an answer from any of those avenues: nada...crickets.
Honestly, I would rather a company pull the update than continue to distribute ones with major issues, but the total lack of communication is disheartening. I think the A1 is by far the best price/performance phone I've ever owned, and had high hopes of Xiaomi being my new 'goto' manufacturer. That is in jeopardy if they continue to step all over the whole idea of Android One and continue doing things without communicating why those things are needed. In the case of Android phones, no news is NOT good news! I will give them some slack, for a while, because the A1 is what, 6 months old? and it is their first Android One phone, so maybe it takes a bit for the need to 'do it right' to trickle down to the devs and working stiffs in the company. But that is only possible if it comes from upper management, and that is communicated by them. So far, all I've really seen in such communication is MIUI, which is a total no go for me. Get your stuff together Xiaomi. You've built a nice base of customers who might never have bought your products with the Mi A1. If you leave them high and dry, you will lose them just as quickly!
It's a nice phone indeed. But based on my experience, I wouldn't count on them communicating with users about software updates.

Considering a total lack of communications in regard to the MI A1, I am not buying anything from Xiaomi ever again.
For six months since its release:
We haven't had a single official announcement about the MI A1 development process
We haven't seen a single official changelog (MIUI forums is not the right place for changelogs - Xiaomi's own website is). Some updates have been published without any changelogs whatsoever, e.g. the last one
We haven't been notified even once about updates being revoked (and it has happened at least four times already)
We haven't seen a single comment in regard to its bugs. All feature requests have been rejected by the MIUI forums moderators.
The MI A1 is not fully Android 8 compatible: no camera2API, no Project Treble support
It has extremely horrible low light camera performance
Updates are randomly delayed
Clearly this company couldn't care less about the MI A1.

I got it the first day by clearing cache of 'Google Framework'. If you haven't tried it yet, do give it a try!

The page you linked provides an excellent summary of issues. Thanks for that. :good: I agree with you that perhaps the MIUI forums are not the best place for A1 bug tracking though, and it would be nice if Xiaomi actually paid attention to customers and provided a place for updates and feedback. Unfortunately, many users create their own issues, then scream loudly for the manufacturer to 'fix' an issue they created, or just plain complain incessantly about the lack of 'features' that were never part of the deal to begin with, and this may lead manufacturers to be less inclined to offer interactive tools.
While my A1's do not have a number of those issues, it does point to the fact that the A1 environment is varied, probably due to different software combinations from the many different locals it is sold in. Hopefully Xiaomi will get it's stuff together and provide some answers. Continuing to ignore customers is never a good solution. It also points out that if I want some features Xiaomi has neglected (EIS and Camera2 API), I am going to have to root the phone, which I was hoping to avoid.
So far, the update experience with the A1 has not been slooth, and I am a bit worried that the update to P may not happen at all, or be very painful if it does. While I won't go as far as to say I won't buy any more Xiaomi products, if another company comes along that offers excellent price/performance and does a decent job at communication and updates, it will certainly be on my radar.

I'm a bit fed up about Xiaomi. But I'm very satisfied about my device.
I've got Samsung S2, S4, S7 and now Mi A1.
And I can tell you: I'm good with my choice.
I can buy a Xiaomi Device EVERY YEAR with some money I've spent with Samsung. And I love Samsung. But I've been waiting for Oreo for several months.
Mi A1 lacks NFC, I hope my next phone will have it onboard.

With what will Flyme 8 come? Android Oreo Treble or Android P that is almost reality?

Google's strong hand against defragmentation, manufacturers can only launch new phones with Android Oreo
Since you have to put the batteries, make Flyme for our Meizu Pro 5 or let install roms by opening the code. Flyme skip if they want Oreo (you have a few months left) and start with Android P
Hopefully someone can make a ROM for the Pro5, because if not nothing, darkness with Flyme. Change of mobile in a year or two (with 4 already well amortized) :fingers-crossed:
Google closed Nougat certification in March, all new Play Certified devices must launch with Oreo..clic here :good:
Android oreo will come to meizu in 2029 don't wait.
Go and buy another phone because Google kicked Meizu's ass i think.
Totally agree!!
Meizu Pro 5 with Flyme dies:
Flyme 5 .. Android 5.1
Flyme 6 ..
- Chinese version: January 2017 based on Marshmallow (Android 6.0)
-Global version July 2017 based on Lollipop (Android 5.1)
Flyme 7 .. based on Nougat (Android 7.1.2), are there a beta version now, I think (May 2018)
Flyme 8 .. based on Oreo, far far away
Flyme 9 .. based on P, I do not think we'll see him in this life!!
------
PD:
Nougat .. June 2016 (Meizu level now)
Oreo .. Agoust 2017
Android P .. Agoust 2018
-------
you wait seated or better don't wait!
I've been observing that Meizu decided to abandon Global market and concentrate on local Chinese market. And it is not that they are very up to date in the Chinese market. Also abandon Android rate
Chinese versions (A): Flyme 6.3.0.2A (Android 6) (2018-4-12)
It's not stable. Battery drain. Many chinese apps (they are easily deleted) and Google Play Store is a simulation. *The applications hang, the firmware is not friendly with google apps, "No suitable appstore found" in some apps. Stay on 6.1.0.0A if you can! but it's very old version based on Android 5.1. You have to returned to the old version of the firmware, becase this 6.3.0.2A can not be used.
International (global) versions (G): 6.1.0.0G (Android 5.1) but from Flyme 5.1.11.0G Google Mobile Services (GMS) was removed....
Resurrecction Remix with Android 7.1.2. very good, the best we have!! Thank you, Faust93!! Good job!!
Meizu oficial firmware (that running ok) is on Android 5.1.. It's very sad!! No?
Ahahahaha Flyme 8 on our PRO5 ?!
More probable to see the end of this world before this happens...
It is frustrating when you spend a lot of money on an Android mobile and you see that the "little time" becomes obsolete. In the next mobile that I bought I will look for a very good policy of updates both by the manufacturer and by the Xda community. Technology is like that, in two years any phone is already very old.
In our case we have three options: settle for what we have, resort to the only ROM if we do not have money or buy a new phone if we have it.
That your Android phone does not receive the latest updates both system and security yes, it is very bad. I am against all brands that do not.
The easiest thing is to buy a new one, but I'm going to try to extend the life of this phone a little longer, at the moment it's not bad with Nougat, to see if a ROM release or a new ROM with Oreo comes out. I do not expect anything new because it is old and almost nobody has it. While It's working, I'll continue with him. I also do not like the phones with Notch
I currently feel that the purchase of this mobile phone has not gone well, how I feel like changing it but I do not want to throw away the 400 euros that the Pro 5 cost in the trash.

not that i'd ever buy meizu again, but wow, with this speed we can expect flyme 7
for pro5 in 2024!
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah!!!!!! How does it work?
yap,flyme8 for pro5,but it is android N
Even Meizu has android N i dont understand why only 7.0 not 7.1. Many app not compatible with this android version.

[Official Announcement] About Mi 5s/Mi 5s Plus Upgrade 8.0 and Progress Update!

Hello Mi fans,
Xiaomi is very concerned about the issue of upgrading Android O that everyone cares about at present. The MIUI developers have already sent R&D staff to the relevant adaptation team and they hope to help you solve the problems encountered at an early date.
The latest developments (7.18 update):
1. After nearly two weeks of efforts Mi 5s was able to upgrade Android O's ultrasonic fingerprint technology to find a feasible solution. At present Xiaomi R&D team cooperates with Qualcomm R&D experts to start intense development and adaptation work. During this period more underlying code changes are involved. To ensure stability related work may last for a period of time. The estimated upgrade time is November. MIUI developers are doing their utmost to complete this adaptation work as soon as possible.
2. After active communication, the technical difficulties of the Mi 5s Plus model dual camera module have found a feasible solution. The Xiaomi R&D team and the Qualcomm dual camera module teams are working overtime. Since the underlying code part needs more adjustments. It is expected that the upgrade time will be in early October and MIUI developers will speed up the progress to complete the adaptation work as soon as possible!
MIUI developers also understand the eagerness of everyone to upgrade Android O. Because the ultrasonic fingerprint module and the dual camera module are supported by Qualcomm. They actively researched the solution together with Qualcomm as originally planned. At present there are some progress but there is no final conclusion. After a clear conclusion, developers will announce the public in the forum for the first time.
There have been rumors that the Mi 5s/Mi 5s Plus is an ODM model recently! These two mobile phones are Mi self-developed models and they are not ODM models as well as will not allow other manufacturers to adapt.

Mi Watch Global firmware

So we're almost at mid 2021 and after a whole year I saw my mi watch collecting dust and I was wondering if there's already a way to get the global version running on the chinese device. Or at least install google play. Lately google's been useless af and can't seem to find anything new about this at all.
Any help would be much appreciated. I'm never buying cheap tech again tho. Its 2021, no longer worth cheaping out.

For real, I decided on buying this device “before” the release of the global rom and as a result one year later I still have a Chinese watch
I've got the same problem. All apps and add-ons are Chinese. Although the watch is really nice, battery holds great, there is an English language available but still. Global ROM would be VERY appreciated. If anybody knows of it's existanance please let me know. Thank you.
