bypass setup wizard update - Nokia 6 Questions & Answers

Good day,
So I downgraded my Nokia 6 from 9 to 7.1.1 because it became so laggy and unresponsive sometimes + other bugs here and there.
Now the phone wants to download a major update idk if it's 8 or 9 but idk how to skip it there is no skip button.
anyone who can help me with this?
I highly appreciate it.

Been a while since I did an initial setup but wasn't there a way to skip the wifi and data connection during the setup? I think if you can bypass the wifi/data connection, the phone can't search for updates. Then once the setup is finished, the developer options had a setting for turning off OS auto update.

Well I think there was a way to skip it, but I think I couldn't because of FRP, the option wasn't there anywhere.
I ended up upgrading to pie again and it asked me to enter the account and the password and I did then it worked.
For some reasons the phone stopped lagging and being slow on Pie, so I decided not to downgrade again.

[Q] No Wi-Fi

Bought my Galaxy yesterday and it works fine but on one point. Yesterday I was able to find the home network of my friend in his house. I could connect to the internet with that as well as through 3g. But later at my place it does not work with any home network. When I try Settings, Wireless and network, Wi-Fi settings and Wi-Fi, the phone turns on Wi-Fi and scans for some seconds and the leaves a message that says "Unable to scan networks".
Maybe I have switched on or off something accidentally as I am a new user on this phone? Anyone for help?
turn off the phone
then turn it back on
in another words, reboot your phone, seems like it got stuck in some WiFi bug
It does not seem to help. I even took out the battery. Still unable to to scan
you can try this
*2767*3855# WARNING! FACTORY DATA WIPE AND RESET as soon as you enter the last # use it only if you want to clean wipe your phone
more over here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=721111
I really don't want that as long as I also cannot backup the video in it. Have not got the Kies program to recognize the phone yet.
Maybe there is another way to set the scan possibility?

you don't need kies
see the last secret code?
It defaults to User space. I do not yet have any extra Micro SD card. Is it that what means with User space?
Tried that last command and do have at least one file of each in the folders, but the phone answers for each of them that the files are not ready? What else is there to be done?
Had same problem, tried factory reset... didn't solve it. any ideas? it can't get an ip address and it used to work
probably the next best thing is to use Odin to reflash the modem file to the phone
or a full flash to the latest firmware
Same problem appeared on my SGS. Boy this sucks. The wifi became "hard" to connect sometimes. Or I could connect but had no internet access. Then I disconnect and connect several times to have net access.
One hour ago the wifi died. I turn it on it says "Unable to search for networks" and shuts itself off.
WTF. I have to reflash!!!! Not good. Also I don't know what caused this. I'm on JM2 with One Click Lag fix 2.1
one thing is for sure, the STOCK rom has no problem with that
so it is either a Router thing, or a firmware specific problem

JM2 isn't a final release firmware. Realistically, if you want everything (well, other than GPS) to "just work", stick to official firmware.
Well, I for one, have only the the official firmware and it is the latest one what I have learned. Still the phone behaves as in my original post after just a couple of hours. Is this and other peoples beautiful Samsung Galaxy model not tested enough by Samsung? Has anyone more information than we have?

I agree thats Help me. or you can try upload update.zip (file to make root) on your device and flash that can help too.
Hi all! Thank you for your inputs to my problem. I have now got it working. For those who are interested how, I can tell you that I only did a simple Factory Reset command.
problem solved!
I had the same problem.
I was trying to configure a invisible ssid and by distraction I created a normal WPA 2 network, ending up with two networks with the same ssid (when I was turning off the wifi, it wouldn't go off at the first try, weird, )
Solution:
Edit the "/data/wifi/bcm_supp.conf" (with root permission) and eliminate the duplicated network, problem solved! At least in my case (no need for factory reset )

I do not have the issue, but maybe you can try this.
1. Open phone dialer (Phone App)
2. Dial *#0011#
3. The ServiceMode screen will be open. When it is open. Tap on menu button on top right.
4. Select "WiFi"
5. Find "WiFi Power Save Mode"
6. Press the "ON" button to turn the "WiFi Power Save Mode" off. (It will show as "OFF" if it is off)
7. Your WiFi will be off and on again.
8. Try to reconnect to the Wifi.
This didnt work still the same

You haven't got smart network switch turned on? (under WiFI settings) it'll do that if it thinks you WiFI connection isn't stable.

Set Google public DNS in your router
Ok i just found out its only doing it at home, i tried wifi and my work and it works perfectly doesnt disconnect and connect, but at home it does, though it never did it before and i didnt change or do anything to my router or my phone which i find very strange.
thanks for the help guys i appreciate it a lot, does anyone know what i can do?
have you found a fix to this yet? I'm having the same issue and getting ready to just return the phone and buy something else. My home network is fine, the other tablets, phones, laptops are having 0 issues, Yet my GS5 is either dropping or something, it seems to run horrible slow and things just time out.

No, and the reason that we don't know is that you didn't provide any useful details about your situation.
If you think that someone can do more than make a random guess implies that you think that there are only one or two possible causes. But most issues, including this one, have hundreds of possible causes. So random guesses are not terribly useful. Nor are we psychic, so the only way to efficiently narrow it down is to look for anomolies in your configuration. Which you haven't described.
You should be providing as much technical detail as possible, e.g. what is your home router model & it's firmware version and configuration details, phone firmware version, any specific error messages, any observed pattern, a logcat if you can and anything else that seems relevant.

Have you tried changing the channel on your router?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
Change the router channel
Change the router SSID
Default the router comfiguration
Change the router operating mode
Update the router firmware
Move the router to a different location
Use a different router
Unplug your neighbours new 50,000 watt pirate radio station
Update your phone firmware
Buy a different phone
Sacrifice a piece of triple chocolate gnocche cake to the pagan God of chocolate and wifi
All random guesses with roughly equivalent (and small) chances of success.
Or one could try troubleshooting the issue methodically.

Hey guys,
I had this problem before, This is an issue with your samsung device and your ISP. They aren't compatible with each other.
Solution:
You must just block clients3.google.com in your modem/router. You can use Block Web Sites section in your modem/router.
Every thing has a solution.
Enjoy your device WIFI.

I have teh same issue on my S5 Cricket. The WIFI does NOT disconnect. Its connected however I don't have internet connection. Turning the WIFI on and OFF fixes the issue, for a short while until it happens again in an hour. Sometimes I slick on a link and wait and wait just to find out the darn WIFI is not connected to the internet. (probably not even connected to my router properly eg, I cant see my laptop shared drives for example).
This has something to do with saving battery or somthing. WIFI internals shut down, even though the icon on top of the screen still shows I'm connected.
Smart Network Switch

Your phone thinks that your WiFi is unstable and dumps the connection to go back to 4g. Why exactly, who knows, but it's easy to turn off the "smart" network switch. Simply hold down the WiFi icon for 2 seconds to get into the connections section. Right there at the top is the smart network switch section ... just uncheck the selection box. Easy.
Lastly, people like fffft need to get over themselves. The fix for the original poster's question was easy, but since fffft didn't know it, he decided to instead attack in order to make himself feel superior. How sad and pathetic does someone have to be to troll forums looking for opportunities to attack and belittle someone else?

The issue is resolved simply by going to the advanced settings in Wifi and disabling 'Always allow scanning'.
Hope this helps.

I had the same issue. I just tried the suggestion, turning of smart network switch in the wifi-advanced menu. Seems to be working so far!
Thanks!
Well I know that Smart Network is turning off wifi.. problem is that i have a fiber at home!! So what kind of problem smart network finds on my broadband?? ?
solution to wifi disconnect problem
I was looking for an answer to a different wi-fi question when I saw this.
I'm on AT&T with my S5.
Under the Wi-Fi settings I have an option for "Smart Network Switch" which says it Automatically switches between Wi-Fi and mobile networks to maintain a stable internet connection. Anytime a computer says it automatically does something for me; I typically say no thanks. I don't typically like my devices making assumptions of what I like, don't like or want to do. So I have that option unchecked. I never have an issue with the network stability once I've connected to a specific wi-fi connection.
Not sure if that will help you all or not. But thought I'd share.
so under Settings --> Quick Settings --> Wi-Fi you will find a check box option named "Smart network switch", untick it, this should take care of the problem.
leon.
Same problem
Hi, I have the same problem. Here some info:
- Device: Samsung Galaxy S5 (SM-G900F), Stock, not rooted
- Android version: 5.0
- Kernel version: 3.4.0-5640614 (2015-09-01)
- 'Smart network switch' is turned off
- 'Always allow scanning' is disabled
The problem started 2-3 days ago. When I turn on WiFi/WLAN the phone constantly turns it back off and on again. Didn't happen before, didn't change anything on the router (I have no access to it ) and didn't install a new app (as far as I can remember). I don't know if it only happens on this access point.
I made a log file (adb logcat) but am not sure if it contains sensitive information, is it save to share online?
The logcat doesn't contain any sensitive passwords.

I'm have the exact same problem.
Samsung Galaxy S5 (SM-G900T)
CyanogenMod (13.0-20151203)
Android 6.0 (Marshmallow)
Baseband (G900TUVU1ANE6)
Smart network switch: disabled
Always allow scanning: disabled
What's happening is as soon as my Wi-Fi finishes authenticating and connects, it is immediately disconnected and tries again. No other devices in my house are having any issues, so that eliminates the router. When I factory reset my phone the Wi-Fi begins to work again, so that eliminates my phones hardware. The confusing part is that I installed a bunch of apps such as AdGuard that could possibly cause an issue but everything worked and this started out of nowhere. Also, I factory reset my phone AGAIN and AGAIN, everything worked and out of nowhere while I was looking at my screen while idling, I watched as the Wi-Fi connection dropped and began the disconnect/reconnect loop...
I'm assuming it has to be a software issue because it only started when I updated to a newer Cyanogen. I'm about to test if other Wi-Fi networks have this problem and I'm also going to look through and post a log.
If anyone has any questions or suggestions that may lead to a fix, PLEASE help!
Thanks
Well I factory reset again, this time wiping the internal storage and everything is now fine. I did look at my logcat and there were Wi-Fi errors but I forgot to post them...

Wifi settings after lollipop Update: Yoga 2 830F

So after my my tablet updated to lollipop, everytime I logged onto a wifi network there was this notification that asked me if I know what I was doing. The choices were
1. Yes, disconnect me
2. No, stay connected.
There is always an remember the choice on this device.
I checked remember and then accidentally pressed yes disconnect me. So I couldn't connect to that specific wifi network at all. I couldn't find the setting anywhere to reset it.
After 10 mins I found the issue. It's Mcafee. There's a choice for web security. Turn off Wi-fi Security. That will fix it. Or you could uninstall Mcafee as well.
Hope this helps anyone that makes the same mistake. Ugh.

Serious WiFI Issues

Hoping someone can help me
My S7 Edge WiFI connection is playing up. My phone is fine on data network but only when connected on WiFi (Have tried other networks too) it has some serious problems like,
- Whatsapp notifications not received unless I switch to data connection or open the app
- Trouble loading internet applications, they just hang randomly but if I switch to data then they load
I first noticed this when I switched over to SuperManROM, however I have since reflashed the previous ROM I was using and still have the same issues. I've tried custom kernels and stock kernels and no difference.
Is it simply a faulty WiFI chip in the S7 Edge or coudl it be something software related? An important point to mention is that for the SuperManROM I had to update the bootloader and Modem, but I did downgrade them again to see if there was any change
Please help
Having the same issues. Tried multiple Wifi networks, same issue. Shows I'm connected to it, but no throughput. Tested the same networks on my laptop with no issues.
I'm using SuperSU.
This happens to me too, but only when I enable power saving mode, could that be your issue?

Well I thought it fixed it, but it doesn't look like it did. Rebooting the phone to see if that helps
Update: even after a reboot no luck.
On cell data no issues. As soon as I connect to Wifi, I lose it.
Update 2: Had a system update available. Tried to install it, and after the phone rebooted it told me the update failed, but the Wifi works okay for the moment. Honestly no clue.
You guys got any VPN profiles installed or anything?

Teamviewer Remote Control Won't Connect on WiFi

Teamviewer was working well on WiFi when I was on Stock Rom. Since I have switched to different Custom Roms, it has not worked on any of them. If I am on Data, I am able to use Teamviewer, but not on WiFi. Error message says "Signed in failed. Please check your internet connection and try again." Has anyone run into this problem and found a solution? Thank for the help in advance.
Fixed:
I finally figured it out after months with this issue. I thought it was the ROM, because it would work sometimes and then it would stop working. Today I found someone who had this same issue and it turned out to be the AT&T Modem. For some reason if IPv6 is Enabled it causes some android apps not to responds or get stuck loading. Why would it affect android apps I don't know, but it does. Maybe someone here can explain why. But if anyone is having this same issue and your modem/router has IPv6 enabled, just disable it.
I tried on a different wifi and it connects. It must some settings on the router.
If you are on Talk talk, they blocked it network-wide the other day
TeamViewer fixed after LineageOS OMS 7.1.1 update. I guess it was a ROM issue. Same update fixed Firefox dark screen.

"Hi, I've had this exact problem for months and I just now discovered out how to fix it. Open your router page in a browser (ex: my AT&T router page is http://192.168.1.254) and in the settings select LAN --> IPv6. Disable IPv6, then save/apply. Turn off wifi on the android, wait a few seconds, turn wifi back on, and voila. "
