oneplus 6t on Verizon - OnePlus 6T Questions & Answers

Hey guys I need a new phone, currently I'm on an HTC 10, I can't switch my service provider right now. But I'm thinking about getting a oneplus 6t. From what I've read it will work on Verizons LTE network. Can anyone that is using this on Verizon right now let me know what you think/what your experience has been so far please???

Here is my situation, and perhaps its useful info for you. I came from Axon 7 to One Plus 6t. The Axon 7, while it worked on Verizon never was certified, and outside of custom roms, would have network issues. Day one on One Plus 6t, i had verizon service in rooms and places where i never did before. When you get a One Plus 6t activated on Verizon, they convert your sim card (digitally, so perhaps account would be more accurate) to what is dubbed CDMA-less. I have had worlds better reception and net speeds on the OP6T than i ever did on my Axon 7. (sd 820, similar experience to the 10). I say go for it man. You wont be disappointed. OP6t is a verizon certified device. The only places i have issues are BFE places that only have 3g. Hope that helps.

My experience with the 6T on Verizon has been really good. Solid reception in New York's capital district (upstate, but not rural), and activation was painless when I got the phone about a month ago.
Some worries about getting service in rural areas when we travel this summer, as in the past I'd only get 3G sometimes, but I'm going to throw my old phone in the bag just in case.
With Verizon's revised 3G sunset coming at the end of the year, I'd imagine they'll need to do something about the fringe areas that are 3G only, or risk disenfranchising the people who live there.

I'm in the NY tristate area and we have a cabin upstate in the Catskills all of the carrier's other then VZW have no service. My Samsung $10+ has only 3G while my OP 6T has 4G. Very happy with reception on (VZW) my 6T.

if I use T-Mobile in slot one and Sprint in slot 2 I get lte on both Sims but been playing with prl and apns to double the Mbps you have to fastboot erase modemst1 and 2 there's thread on it same way I've done every phone to sim unlock it motoz make sure you use right apn and slot you'll be good

I've had my 6T for about a month now, on Verizon, and it's been great so far. I work in Boston and live just outside the city and have not had any issues at all.

@kend0g whats good man, yea cmon over, the water is fine here. no CDMA, no problem.

I've had mine since release. No issues.
It's certified compatible. Just make sure you call support and have CDMA_Less added as a feature.
The phone will only do LTE, which I have not found to be an issue.

Wrong thread. This is use on Verizon.

6T on Verizon around Tampa Bay, FL and other areas in FL have been pretty good. NO worse than any other phone I've had with them on the network. Really think their service is overhyped.
My wife/daugters have iPhones, our reception is identical always no matter where we are if that helps. If their service sucks, so does mine, and when good, so is mine.

Question:
Does Volte work on the OnePlus 6T on Verizon?
I really like the specs on the phone but I would need to have simultaneous voice and data in order for me to consider purchasing it to use it on Verizon.
Thanks

Yes volte works I just switched to Verizon yesterday from T-Mobile. Cdma-less was even enabled automatically.

Okay great.
Glad to know.
Thanks.
Now did you purchase your 6T from T-Mobile and had it when you switched to Verizon?
I plan to buy mine directly from OnePlus unless the T-Mobile version is unlocked to work on any carrier including Verizon, then I might consider getting it from T-Mobile.

I see your first question was answered already. The theory is that the T-Mobile versions are fully unlockable/convertible to the unlocked version. I say theory BC while I've known people who have done such (feel free to chime in @Harry44 ) and say it is fully converted, there is no guarantee that will remain the case forever. But AFAIK at present that is possible. I bought mine unlocked for fear of tmob versions having something to block Verizon.

I bought mine from OnePlus as well. I only purchase unlocked phones with no carrier tag attached.

I just switched to Verizon from TMobile. I was surprised when I saw that it can only use LTE. The prepaid plans are only on LTE anyways so it works out. The service is great! I had issues setting up an account due to their system saying that my phone isn't eligible for receiving SMS messages. The chat agents have created a ticket for it. I had to put my sim in my wife's iPhone in order to create an account. I am traveling this summer and no 3g is a little scary but honestly, an area where there is no Verizon service is just as fast as TMobile full bars of LTE. Overall 5stars from me (Dallas area).

[Q] Google Nexus 4 MetroPCS compatibility?

I recently was looking to upgrade my phone, which currently is a LG motion (For those of you who care) running metro PCS service.
My question is, does anyone know if MetroPCS service allows for a Google Nexus 4 to run? The phone supposedly (according to threads on the internet) can actually run LTE even though it doesn't claim so. Some say that it's signals and services also can run with metro PCS. I wouldn't mind only having Phone and Text with them, so if the cost of data is necessary that could be arranged.
Thank you all!
(If it does work, more than just myself will be happy to hear

Wrong. MetroPCS is now with T-Mobile and they plan to merge the networks together.
@OP: More details here,
We knew this day would come and thanks to a trio of screenshots leaked to the boys at PhoneArena, we know an actual date. Beginning June 12th, MetroPCS customers will have the opportunity to use compatible unlocked GSM phones which include iPhones, Android, Windows Phone and certain feature phones. There’s no telling just how many devices out of the Android lineup Metro customers will be able to choose from, but it’s clear T-Mobile and MetroPCS are moving fast to offer the latter customers with more options. As of June 12th, Metro customers will head to www.metropcs.com/keepyourphone to find which unlocked devices will be available.

The possibility of it working is there, but it'd be on T-Mobile network and not MetroPCS but they're one entity now... but since they're one entity I'm sure you could use TMo's network as a MetroPCS customer. Just wait for the official word for more details (June 12th... rumored)

MetroPCS is still CDMA so how am I wrong? They have a boat load of CDMA phones out there in customers hands that would need to be traded in. What they more than likely will do is eventually force those MetroPCS customers onto T-Mobile as MetroPCS has no infrastructure, just customers. And just because MetroPCS will be offering T-Mobile devices doesn't mean they will also offer prepaid bring your own phone plans for T-Mobile service. Their business model is to sell you a phone at full price and then you get a no contract month to month service plan. It would be cheaper to just go to T-Mobile and get a no contract plan than to have to buy a T-Mobile phone at MetroPCS, sign up for a plan, and then switch sims over to the Nexus 4.

You're right but I think he was trying to say that the two companies have merged and they are working our connecting their networks to one. MetroPCS customers will have to switch to T-Mobile by 2015. q

Come on man you made the guy seem like he gave a bad answer when you typed in Wrong like that. Hey OP MetroPCS is cdma and we all know that and no you can't bring your phone to MetroPCS to get it turned on but hey when they finish the merger with T-Mobile then maybe the Metro stores (new T-Mobile) will be able to handle that for you. But if you are looking for prepay choices look into Walmarts plan, Simple Mobile and T-Mobiles prepaid since they are all along the line of MetroPCS.
Also dont get caught up in the LTE hype for speeds. If you are lucky enough to live in a HSPA+ area there is nothing wrong with 18 - 25 mbps download. Anything over a constant 5mbps is good enough to stream HD in most cases. Also LTE gonna destroy your battery life... Just my opinion guys
http://www.tmonews.com/2013/06/metr...ogram-opening-up-network-to-t-mobile-devices/
Told you so.
The program supports AT&T and T-Mobile iPhones, and the iPhone 5 from Verizon and Sprint. Also supported are GSM-based Android phones and Windows Phone devices, but not BlackBerry smartphones, or any tablets/mobile hotspots. MetroPCS customers will choose from the company’s current offering of $40/$50/$60 rate plans to use with the devices. In the end, the program is basically a way for T-Mobile devices to activate on the Metro network.
There are some limitations to the bring-your-own-device program including: “MetroPCS does not assume any liability for the lack of effectiveness for non-MetroPCS devices,” the carrier wrote on its website.

It is a bad answer though. Its simple, don't reply back unless you really know what you're saying. Either that or just say that there is a possibility of uncertainty.
Yes its compatible the use each others towers that's how T-Mobile has some LTE markets (source is the link in the post above)

Go to the MAIN metro store in your local area to do it..on the phone all the reps said no but i just went in to the main dealer in my area and they got it to work..the small stores most likely cant do it because they have to program it for some reason..its not just putting in a sim card like tmobile or att..metro pcs is even taking any unlocked phones from att and of course tmobile (getting my sis an iPhone from eBay because of that)..they are now a hspa+ network so it should work everywhere.. I was actually very surprised they were able to activate it but inside the store they had a notice saying they are changing all their phones to T-Mobile's hspa and to upgrade phones soon. And their price was actually cheaper then the 60$ they advertised for unlimited everything

In my area, the update has only just rolled out sometime last month. Go too your MetroPCS store and ask if you can, they should be able to give you an estimate. In my case the update was a substantial improvement too speed making the release obvious.
METROPCS is GSM now so any unlocked phone or tmobike GSM phone will work. They no longer sell CDMA phones but will support the network through 2015 before it goes full GSM.

Will T-Mobile LTE tablet work on ATT network?

Hi,
Can you please help me out with this question - will T-Mobile LTE Tablet work on ATT network (LTE).
I want to get the LTE version of the Galaxy note but I dont want to use T-Mobile network but would like to use a ATT network on it.
I was wondering if the tablet will get the LTE speed on ATT network?
Thank you.
Regards,
I'd tried it last night- the P607T is SIM-locked to a T-Mo SIM. I normally buy my tablets outright, but at 0% financing and $20/mo for 3GB 'til the end of the year, I went contract for this one. But the good news is in 90 days I can ask for my SIM unlock code (if I don't find a way to hack it beforehand ).

Oh, sorry- yeah, I'm nearly certain it will. T-Mo is 1700/2100 (AWS) and now 1900 in the markets they'd won from AT&T after the failed merger, and AT&T is 1900 and 850 (see here for details). T-Mo is on LTE Band 4, and AT&T is on Bands 2,4, and 17 (see here for details).
The SM-P607T is LTE on bands 1/2/4/5/7/17 and HSPA+/UMTS on 850/AWS/1900/2100MHz (see here for full specs), so I'm sure it'll work on any North American network at full speeds (SIM lock issue notwithstanding).
But I'm fairly unhappy with the T-Mo signals I'm getting in the San Francisco area when I'm outside the city; I have the hardest time keeping data going when I'm on CalTrain, whereas my OG Note 10.1 on AT&T only had an issue in the tunnels. I'm going to have to either flash a better(?) radio (I'm willing to give up LTE for better UMTS) or find a way to SIM unlock this baby ASAP so I can go on AT&T.

I did not try to root it and have no plans to do so, I'm happy the way it is now, just want to let everybody knows that this version is SIM UNLOCK.
It's confirmed! I'd gone to Cellunlocker.net and SIM-unlocked my device (I'd previously tried IMEI-Unlocker.com, but they weren't able to do it), and tried a Net-10 SIM from my phone and was able to get LTE on AT&T .
I've got a real AT&T SIM at home that's currently in my OG Note 10.1, but I don't think that one's provisioned for LTE- in any case I'll post a Screenshot from the Network Status Monitor app in a few hrs.
I got a good deal on data from T-Mo (200MB free + 1GB free 'till 12/31/14 + $2GB for $20 = 3.2GB for $20/mo), but the signal just isn't there when I need it on my commute and an AT&T iPad data plan is just $30 for 3GB (and far more reliable for me).
... and after re-registering my AT&T "iPad" data SIM for LTE, I can now confirm I get LTE on AT&T.
I have a full-size VZW SIM laying around that's got an old Moto Xoom $20/1GB plan on it I haven't gotten rid of yet- I'll see if I can get a VZW store to give me a new Micro-SIM and see if that works, too.

Caveat - VZW has some LTE Band 4 (which we have), but is primarily Band 13- which we don't have in the P607T- so as soon as I'd gone outside the SF city limits, I got no signal.

Hi all.
I have a problem I'm hoping to get some feedback on. So I have the t-mobile version of this tablet. I unlocked the network via cellunlocker.net.
It reads my at&t iPad Sim just fine and lte works. Then all of a sudden I keep getting no data error. All apps that require data star that there is a net work error.
Basically the data keeps timing out. I have verified the apn settings for att broadband from my att note 8.0. So they are fine.
Anyone else experiencing this problem with an att sim?

FWIW, I've run many GBs of data thru my AT&T SIM (across a fair stretch of the SF Bay Area's Peninsula) and haven't had this problem; I suspect the above poster may be in a marginal AT&T (LTE?) area.
One of the things @biswasd could try is flashing the Nordic P605 4.4.2 ROM (which I've modified to prevent Odin errors from trying to reflash the bootloaders and radios and have uploaded here); I'm currently running this (with zero issues) and there's a new selection in "Mobile Data" that allows you to do only 3G/2G data; when I'm on the train in the a.m. this helps as the radio will try hanging onto an LTE signal longer than it needs to as I'm doing 75MPH and who knows how many tower handoffs (and I will see temporary data stalls sometimes when on LTE Auto Select).

That's good to hear. I'm also in the Bay Area and have been on AT&T forever. But I'm tired of their locked bootloaders and lack of updates on their Android tablets. My Note 8.0 i467 is still on 4.1 and will be on the market soon if the P607T works well on AT&T LTE.
This is the first time I'm trying a TMobile variant. Once it arrives from Amazon, I have to unlock it, root it, and maybe try the ROM you mentioned. Any other ROM recommendations? Especially to get rid of the TW lag.

It does- and it also works pretty good on T-Mo too, as long as you're not in one of their black holes (but FWIW I really haven't found a T-Mo area that's totally dead in the Peninsula yet).

It's really non existent on this device, though. I have side-loaded the Google Now Launcher 'cause I'd wanted GN right on the device (and have Frozen "S-Search"/"S-Voice"), but really TW isn't an issue.

It's too late for you now, but for others- unless you're getting a significantly-lower price than $600 for a P607T, T-Mo US' "$0" down (really ~$65; you have to buy a SIM for $10 and pay Sales Tax on $600 up front, at least here in Cali) and 0% financing offer can't be beat, esp. since you get 1GB/mo for free 'till the end of 2014 and 200MB/mo for life after that.

Don't know; didn't look, but normally I don't 'cause aftermarket ROMs on high-end Samsung devices tend to have missing features anyway so I never bother. I even like the standard kernel (despite it being non-OCed and sooo many revs back) that I'm not going to bother publishing an upgraded kernel like I usually do on the other tablets I've owned.

Turbo on other US networks, (T-Mobile and AT&T)

Has anyone had the chance to test it on other networks? I know it should work on T-Mobile with lte, but I'm debating whether to hold out a month for a international model, in hopes of it having the right lte bands for T-Mobile and no vzw bloat. Or a dev edition. Anyone else on the same boat?

It is impossible to purchase this phone without activating it on the Verizon network, which means you will need a contract or someone on a Verizon contract willing to activate it for you.
They will not let you buy the phone at retail and walk out of the store without activation. I have already tried, multiple ways. I do, however, have an active AT&T SIM and could perhaps try it. But I'd rather not.
Rumor is that Motorola has AT&T and T-Mobile versions on the way, be patient.
Yes I put my ATT sim in the phone.
It comes up with a warning that the sim card you're using is not from Verizon.
You can dismiss it and notice that you will see AT&T instead of Verizon Wireless at the bottom of the home screen.
The data icon shows 3G but speeds are more like HSPA+ speeds.
Voice and SMS not a problem.
I did not try sending a video in a text though.
APNs can be set and even after I did I did not see a 4GLTE icon.
Interestingly enough when I was done and put the Verizon SIM back in, the AT&T APN settings I put in earlier were completely gone, only the Verizon one was showing.
If TMO has a version that would be the one to get as they most likely will NOT have a locked bootloader AND you can walk out without activating at all, just pay cash or charge it, etc.
I have a friend with a TMO and give the associate that number and name on the account and tell the associate it's a gift.

You would be running lte off of band 2 and 4 since that'd T-Mobile's lte signal. As we speak I'm walking over to a vzw to check out the phone but will probably wait until the end of the month to get it if the international model doesn't have T-Mobile's lte bands

You must be in an area that only has band 17 LTE for AT&T. This phone has band 2 and 4 LTE for AT&T and they are unlocked straight from verizon.
I am very interested in this phone but i will wait for the GSM version that will include band 17.
Since it is a Snapdragon phone I'm sure you can QPST unlock all the band. I did it on my G3 pretty painless but you can really mess some things up if you are not careful

Yes, HSPA+ is really 3G+ same difference. 3G=HSPA .'4G' = HSPA+
But in reality LTE is really the 4th Gen. In the states here they f'ed the naming so they can sound like it's blazing fast....

I just bought the phone today and swapped in my Tmobile Nano Sim. Its working perfectly with full LTE in Chicago. I had to add the Apn settings under mobike network to get it to work. sprint lg v20 unlock successfully but connect and disconnect from network constantly

Is anyone having this issue? I recently got a lg v20 sprint unlocked and the cellular signal drops constantly, it says "NO SERVICE every 3 seconds" then connects back to my mobile carrier.
anyone knows how to fix this? I know for sure it can't be a hardware problem because the phone is relatively new.

That's a side effect of using a sprint phone on a different network. It all determines the carrier and area. Never buy a sprint phone with full intentions of it fully working on a different network. For me AT&T would do it. T-Mobile wouldn't.

okay thanks for the response. hmmm not what should I do with the phone?
What is the SIM card that you have inserted in your phone? If it's gsm one, it will not work.
Sprint is a CDMA network and even if you unlock a device from them, you will have issues using it on other networks.

Dude, this is so incorrect I've been using a domestic Verizon note 5 for the past 6 months on the gsm network by only changing the apn for data. Pretty much every flagship carries all the bands to reduce manufacturing costs it's just a matter of accessing them through the software.

Sprint locks it down software wise. Verizon does Not. So Verizon variant most wouldn’t have an issue. Even though with older phones like the S5 and G4 (only ones I’ve tested Verizon wise) service was unreliable in fringe areas as they would all the time go in and out of service, but only in fringe areas.
It depends. A lot of sprint models miss bands that Several GSM carriers use weather it be WCDMA or LTE
But generally 99% of people trying to use a Sprint device on a GSM network are gonna have an issue. While Verizon it’s probably less than have that will have an issue if even that.

I value your opinion on other things but your information here is incorrect. I have successfully used a Sprint LG V20 unlocked by Sprint here locally on GSM networks as well as outside the US. It could be an issue with APN settings or selecting a proper network.
The Sprint V20 has enough band support for domestic GSM bands and I have first hand experience with it. It could be that the particular V20 could be faulty?

It’s not the band support that is the issue. And it’s not just the V20. In fringe/lower coverage areas it’s a pain to maintain a stable connection. I’ve seen this with both the G5 and V20. It makes it unusable. It also occurs on older Verizon devices as well like the S5 and G4 as an example.
It’s mostly a software issue that causes it. APN is data related and wouldn’t cause signal issues.
When I had a sprint G5 for my 2nd line, I go into city limits where coverage was good would almost work perfectly. Go home in a fringe area might as well pop the sim In a flip phone lol.

That is true with Sprint coverage anywhere lol. (my local Walmart sells Boost mobile phones, even though we have ZERO sprint coverage) But in a fringe area on AT&T as an example the signal will drop in an out constantly. While any other phone will hold onto the signal perfectly fine and never drop and work perfect one 1-2 bars of signal.
I guess by fringe I mean a lower signal area not exactly fringe to the point of no service.
And there’s plenty of posts of Sprint G5 unlocked users that have the same problem.

I used to believe in this statement.. But when I walk around with a phone from Verizon (business), Srint (Personal) and AT&T hotspot service, I realized this is very not true.
There are locations where each carrier is stronger than others. At one of my job site, Verizon and AT&T fail to connect at all constant roaming and drop calls while Sprint skips along like no body cares.
Point, additionally, as each carrier acquire and deploy new bands, they need to be built out so the newer devices that support the bands can utlize it relieving the crowded older bands.
HOWEVER, this stupid phone, with SignalCheck Pro installed, I can see the bands I'm on but the signal stregnth is horrible, like at the moment, i'm connected to band 41 but LTE is at -117dBm, that's almost like not having signal at all. Likewise when I'm connected to band 25 and 26.
I tried disabling all those bands and force it onto the lower frequency with hardly any success.

It's not just you. There are multiple threads on Sprint's forums with users complaining. My phone constantly roams, the WiFi calling keeps timing out on location and though it says LTE most of the time data doesn't work. Lucky for me I keep a spare phone so I'll be switching back to my iPhone X until they resolve this but there's been no official word on any of this getting resolved so I'm not expecting a solution any time soon. I'm wondering if it was the update I installed that caused this because it seemed like day 1 the phone was ok. Maybe a solution is to use Odin and flash back to the original stock.

It's not just you. There are multiple threads on Sprint's forums with users complaining. They had me reset network settings which I did and it didn't help. They're sending me a replacement phone... Once I get it I'll prevent the Samsung update and see if that helps. Idk I really wanted to like this phone.

Sadly this is a known issue:

I have the sprint version purchased from S
Spent an hour with samsung to no resolution. Took my verizon sim and dropped it on the S10 and the phone was getting good signal and speed then dropped for a couple minutes then back to good speeds. But as it's doing this, the phone started to get very warm. Sprint tech support doesn't know crap, just make me repeat their written process multiple times and the guys at the sprint stores are just salesman.
Since the verizon seems shows intermitten connections as well, i'm going to see if samsung can send me a replacement.
