camera still works without drm keys?

sure

hello, how about battery drain after the latest update? I just saw a video recommending to do not update to Pie, because many features of Oreo and Nougat are gone and functions are limited, and a battery life is reduced. the review was made few months ago, though. are there any major changes with following updates? do you recommend to update? thank you.

Hi, what do you all think of the new Pie update?
What happens if, for once, there is a system update notification, it is being ignored and nothing done?
My first smartphone being HTC, then switching to Samsung twice, i don't recall getting system update notifications every now & then from the mentioned brands.

yesterday I have updated to this version via OTA.
today I notice GPS does not work (tested with Maps and GPS test).
does anyone have experienced this issue?

Not going to update my XZ1 to Pie. It seems Google has disabled third party call recording apps such as ACR within Pie. This functionality is very important to me in my work. So unless I'm going to root my phone in order to get around this I can't use call recording app. This is a major to me and many many others.

weird, I have a good precision (tested inside a building)

I got four darker spots on camera - two are darker and two are barely noticeable. At first I thought it was a hardware issue (dirty lens or faulty sensor), but I found, that this happened to some of the different Xperia phone users before after a software update. Can anyone else confirm that?

Just updated. GPS and camera are fine and everything seems really quick. Or maybe that's because I just rebooted and I don't do that so often

I can't use my device anymore, it's laggy as hell and so bad, that no one wants to buy it for even 150€

I did, but no success, I tried different kernels, but no success either

GPS, RAM and camera just work fine. No problem found in my unit.
Still hoping non root night light make a comeback ?

Anybody found a way to bring the clock back to the right side on pie? ?

32.3.A.2.33 OTA update Is available for rus beeline

Today i recieve OTA. Cant find any information about changes.
I was just about to ask about this. I think it might just be the security update.
I can't install this update being on a rooted kernel 32.3.A.0.372. Do i have to revert back to an unrooted kernel in order to be able to install this update?
Oh ****.
I really hope this is just a security update.
I'm just finishing bringing the sumire LineageOS device trees set up with the older stock ROM.
I'm downloading the ftf.will see if there are any changes

Does this update fixes the low ring volume from the last 32.3.A.0.376 release as well for the phone idle battery usage?

Have tested calling my phone and noticed that ringtone volume no longer drops down, top and bottom loud speaker volume is somehow levelled in loudness.
Even selecting from the ringtone settings you can hear the changes.
I'm now observing the Phone Idle battery usage for the next couple of days if this was also been fixed.
Can others please verify if my findings are correct?
Thanks!
My phone has started lagging so much after this update. Slidings are so slow and laggy, it literally makes my eyes hurt. Navigating at application list or homescreen is like I'm using a 5 years old android. Even the apps like Whatsapp and Quickpic are slow and laggy now. All animations are 5 times more slower and laggy, I don't know why. My phone is one year old and it was always fast as the first day until today. I don't want to do a factory reset (and I don't even sure that factory reset will solve this problem). Do anyone else has the same problem, or have you got any easier solutions than factory reset?

This bug happened for me too on the old update, fix is easy. Go to settings >> battery, enable stamina mode in performance mode and use the phone for 2 mins. Then turn stamina off and phone will be faster as before

It worked, thank you! :good:
But I find this bug very odd though. A simple reboot did not solve it and I rarely enable stamina mode, maybe once in a month. Anyway, thanks again!

Maybe you should get used to factory resets, ive seen a factory reset solving stranger things.
update available in Australia, updated mine last night and so far so good. battery seems to be a lot better now! only issue i noticed once i came off from wifi i had no 4G signal, turned airplane mode on and off and all working fine now, seem to only happen once in a blue moon.
I use the Sony Xperia Z5 Dual, but the update did not come to me! what is the reason of this?

It depends on your firmware region. Some might got it slower than other. For example Central Europe still on .378 while MEA got .33 the new ones.

Got my Z5 Dual with default region on hongkong, since update releases are way too slow on it i've reflashed my unit to malaysia region. After that updates releases shows up as soon as there is one.
Please see screenshot of the regions already on .33 update =)

Android Nougat 7.0 BUGS

The idea of the thread is to list oficial stock android nougat bugs after a clean update (Factory reset) and see if other are having the same problems:
For my on retail Europe:
-GPS not working ok. It sees the satellites but not fix position. Sometimes i managed to fix the position but next time i try to use the gps it wont fix again. (See atachments)
-Turbocharger weird behaveors, some time it stop turbocharging and start slow charge when the cellphone is left charging, all apps close, normal temperature 32C.
-System tunner bug (Minor): if you set it to always show battery porcentaje on the bar next time you enter the system UI it get to only show when charging set up. You have to put it again in always show.
-Battery dropdown and missreading after restarting the phone.
-Heavy downgrade in stereo spesker quality. They sound like crap now.
-Missreading of cores in use by monitoring aps like CPU-Z, etc.
-Abnormaly battery drain in low signal or heavy usage.
Absolutely not a single problem with N RETEU version. Everything works as it should. Even some bugs were fixed from the MM like Bluetooth. GPS okay, turbo charging okay, ...
Same here, no bugs at all in EU version
What apps are you using to test gps? I use GPS TEST (PLUS Version)
Any problems for me too.
Maybe your GPS problems are cos you have flashed a EU Rom while you are in latin America...

sometimes flashlight does not turn on when I shake the phone..
I only have one problem with camera. Macro focus is SUPER SLOW and sometimes it just doesn't focus at all. This happens only on stock camera / moto camera apk from other thread. When I use opencamera everything is okay, so I think its related to camera apk
edit: okay its bad in every app that is using stock camera (facebook messenger etc)

I bougth my phone in Europe and installed ota via stock recovery, it is the OTA for my phone! I think GPS should work worldwide and before the update it worked like a charm
Thanks!
I have the same issues. Strangely apps report that GPS can't fix but it's showing correct position. My turbo charger also doesn't work as it was working before. Reteu N ROM flashed on eu non rooted phone without wiping data.
I'd almost be surprised if there aren't significant bugs in the update.
We are, after all, dealing with obscenely incompetent "devs" who first pushed out a soak test that bricked devices upon a ****ing factory reset. "Devs" who had absolutely no involvement in developing the device or its original firmware.
I have little doubt that most of the better community ROM devs would've done a better job, and delivered the update faster, doing it purely for fun in their spare time.
**** Lenovo.

Have you try a wipe cache partition ?
If not : Boot into recovery mode like for OTA update and chose Wipe cache partition ( no data lose )
Can someone with Nougat Europe version who posted that the GPS is working ok download GPS TEST app and see if it is fixing position. Google map worked for me but Nlife doesn't work good, it can't track the position. Maybe the problem is not with all the apps.
Guys if the rom did not come via Lenovo then moaning about it is waste of time.

It is the same OTA uploaded here that everyone is using, final build, clean install. Maybe it is a problem with de GPS Plus and the Ndrive App, since other navigation apps seen to work fine, but maybe they don't need to fix position to track the navigation, i can't tell if these apps can fix the position. It is weird, some times it fix position fast and sometimes it take like 20 minutes. The apps works perfect in other devices. It will be nice that someone with GPS TEST app can check if it is happening the same to them. One user allready says he is having problem to fix position too.

anyone else just get a second october update?

I just got this. The first October update was 105mb and I updated yesterday. IDK what this one is about.
Me too
I too have got it. Interesting..
It appears that they fixed the fingerprint and CPU lock bug along with the Smart Lock blank screen bug and the read and write speeds issues. I guess they finally did it. Next up is Pie I hope...
Here also. After yesterday an update was delivered, I am now offered a new update. The installation is now running. I noticed after yesterday's update that there were significant "memory / processing delays", which had previously not occurred on my device. The update is 203 mb, yesterday only 103.5mb were delivered.
Updated again with the 203mb . No the smart lock empty screen is not fixed. ?
¿? any change

Version OPM1.171019.011.V9.6.15.0.ODIMIFE
Toke some time to install. It didn't disable CAMERA2API (installed before 9.6.14). I hope my battery gets better. Since last update battery was being drained really fast.
Which "base" version of GPlay Services do you have with october's patch? (For example, i can install an older version in august patch, like 12.6.89) is this possible in the latest update?

Here you go, you can reset the proximity with this app.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiledirection.proximitysensorreset&hl=en
But the position of proximity sensor is really bad, especially for the left arm holding phone users, like my self...so, that will never be fixed of course.
@Benjamin_L What @ramir0 is saying is right. This is a bug which existed even before the phone went on sale and still not fixed.
Ok, so this update seems to be the real one with some bugs fixed, the first one (100Mb) was just security update, this one should have some fixes, but without changelog, who knows what...
EDIT:
I just did a quick Andro Bench test.
My writing speed goes up, from 174Mb to 220Mb, everything else is like before update.

Android 10 - RAM management issues?

I've updated to Android 10 recently and, while I enjoy the improvements to the performance, I have been far from impressed with the phone's RAM management. Sometimes, the phone would just randomly fail to launch any apps. I would just tap on any app I want to launch from the home screen or in the app drawer and the phone would just stall. Maybe after quite some time, the phone would initially launch the app but at crawling speed and fail to completely load it. The only way out is to tap the home or the recent apps button multiple times. Also, when opening the recent apps view, I don't actually find the app that failed to launch in the recent apps at all.
Is it only me or is this a known issue? Will formatting my phone do any help?
I am having a similar issue. It occurs randomly, and I have to reboot to fix it.
Same here.
The only way to recover for me is to reboot.
I am hoping the October release will have a fix.

Damn! I thought it probably would not be fixed as I believe we only get they security updates fast each month. We'll have to wait & hope we get the fixes soon. I haven't even hand chance to update yet! Lol
Sitrep: updated successfully to the latest update (October security patch). 41 hours of uptime have just passed as I was writing this and so far, I only had a similar issue with Google Chrome (failed to load any pages) but as soon as I opened the App Info and cleared 2 gigs of cache it went back to normal. Didn't get that freezing issue anymore. Looks like it was fixed indeed. Awesome!
I'll still keep an eye on it.
To my shock, it appears that the October security update didn't fix this issue. It may have taken more uptime to occur but it is still there. I think at this point I'm better off switching back to Android Pie custom ROMs.
October version seems better to me. Not as good as Pie but the freeze is not permanent to a point where I have to reset to recover.
Now, when it freezes, it takes about 3-5 seconds to recovers.

I had similar issues when I dirty flashed from P to Q.
Although there are defo some Audio HAL issues on Q as mentioned in a previous post, noticeable when trying to play music through the dongle.
Sitrep: switched to AOSiP 10 (20191012 build), never had a single RAM management issue since. Not sure if it's because of clean flashing the ROM, switching to f2fs or whether it's the ROM that has some fixes. But, well I'm a happy man now
