New Navigation Gesture Missing On My T-Mo 6T - OnePlus 6T Questions & Answers

I just read the review of the 6T posted on XDA. It mentions the new navigation gesture for the phone; swiping up and to the right opens the previous app. It is not available on my 6T. I have been using the double tap recent button version of this on Android and find it very useful. Not having either version is why I am not using gestures and installed Smart Launcher on day one. Is anyone else missing this feature?
BTW I am also missing the new smart boost.

TMo doesn't have the latest update.

Well that explains it. Didn't think there would be updated before the phone was even released.
Thanks!

[Qeustion] Notification Bar Functionality

Question for the Devs,
I have one thing that bugs me about Android: taking a ton of steps to get to places, so I had an idea, but I'm not sure if it's possible. It's a two - parter:
1) Is it possible, to put into the notification area a scrollable list of your currently running applications, or possible your most used apps? Kinda like holding down home, but it's not the same.
2) I had a program on my jailbroken iCrap back in the day: sbsettings. LOVED this program, gave me quick access to just about anything. It's kinda like the power widget, but it was accessible from sliding your finger accross the top of the screen from anywhere. Imagine having the power control widget in your notification area.
Are the two above possible, or are there limitations to what the notification bar can do. Obviously, I'd want it so that if I hit "clear" they'd still remain there. Also, I don't want just a link poining me somewhere else, I want the action to occur right from the notification screen:
I searched and searched but cannot find. Have I missed something?
Sorry if this is in the wrong thread, but I figured it does have to do with development, so there ya go... Thanks in advance!
For #2 use smartbar with quick settings checked in settings for notification. It might also have #1 but I don't really poke too much around in the settings.
I use Quick Settings, which will put a notification in the pull down task bar and you have access to a number of system settings.
jkAppSwitchEX works great as a sort of AltTab type thing and you can pin it to a long press of the search button. It also can be used as a task killer and can have a list of your favorite/most used apps for easy launch (and has a recent apps list). Plus, it can put a notification in the pull down task bar. There's also a free version on the market which just shows running apps.
I also believe Folder Organizer will put apps in the task bar, I have the lite version which doesn't do that (I don't think), but I don't really need it for that, so the lite version is fine for my needs.
I've also tried SmartBar, and it does have that functionality of swiping the screen and having access to programs, etc. But it wasn't what I had been looking for when I tested it, but worth checking out.
*off topic a bit*
Sorry but it's not Qeustion it is Question
Has anyone found a way to add the power control toggles to the notification screen as seen on the Galaxy S?
if your rooted cyanogen mod have the settings in the notification like the galaxy s or you can use a app call quickdesk you can launch quickdesk by long pressing the search button or double tap the home button in any program it has this thing call quick pannel that shows you your recently used apps and the apps thats running its really slick you can also swype up on any running apps to close them. theres also another app call itchingthumb that basically do the same thing but i like the simplicity of quickdesk more you should check them out. Theres also another app call smart task bar that can also do those thing it as the most options all you have to do is swype your finger at the side of your phone to launch it. Feel free to ask me any questions about them and I'll try to answer them. Oh yeah theres another one call power strip.
I found this thread and applied the mod to the HD ROM that I'm using, it works well.

PIE Inhibiting Bottom of Screen

I flashed PAC onto my Galaxy Note 10.1 just a few days ago when I ran across the PIE section in the settings, as I started toying with it I fell in love with how the nav bar was no longer hanging around the bottom all of the time, and I certainly liked PIE's interface better. However, ever since I started using the bottom 1/2 inch (interestingly about the size of the nav bar) hasn't been responsive to any touch input other than PIE. For example, if I was typing something, only the top of the spacebar would recognize a touch as a space, but the other, bottommost part would still operate if I swiped up to reveal PIE.
Is anyone aware of a fix to this problem, or is it just a tradeoff of having PIE, and this is just the way it is?

You can disable pie from the settings menu. You should also consider upgrading to 4.4 as JB is no longer receiving updates.
Well I know that I can disable PIE, but I want to know if the bottom of the screen not being functional is just something I have to deal with or if there is something that I can do about it.
I'm not aware of a 4.4 update for PAC for my device. I'm willing to try a nightly release, but I'm not sure how to tell what version a ROM is from the name of the .zip.
For example, what version is: pac_n8013-nightly-20140122.zip ? I can't anything except for "pac", "n8013" (my model no.), "nightly", and "2014".
The "0122" I'm not sure of.

Click to collapse
You can move the pie trigger to the side of the screen to see if you get the full touch screen back...
0122 is the date of the nightly build. Up to 0128 is 4.3 and from 0303 will be PAC-4.4

Thank you for the clarification. I could be missing something, but there are no ROMs that have any release after 0128 (which I have now) for my device.
Seems like I'll have to wait for an update to roll around, but until then I'll keep playing with the settings and see if perhaps I have something not set properly.

Hybrid Properties
As I was thinking about the correlation between this problem and the nav bar, I realized that the nav bar was likely still active, but not visible because I clicked on the PIE fullscreen button in the quick settings. So I went to Hybrid Properties, clicked on interface, and set the "Nav. bar" slider to 0%, and clicked Apply. When that didn't work, I went back to that screen and found that the Nav. bar slider was all the way back at 100%. I've tried several times to get this to work, including adjusting the "Size" slider, clicking "Tablet UI" in the Launch screen and applying that, but nothing has stopped that slider from returning to it's default setting. Anyone know why this might be?

[Q] Notification Bar Won't Come Down

Hi Forum,
I have a bit a problem with my newly upgraded Note 3. Been searching online for a while now and not getting anywhere, so I thought I might start a post here to ask the experts and hope it would help some others with the same problem. Thank you all in advanced.
I have installed the leaked 5.0 rom on my note 3 only recently and everything seems to be working perfectly fine except I can no longer able to use the swipe down gesture to pull down the notification bar. At first, I thought it was the 3rd party launcher I am using that has compatible issue, but after the trying out 2 other different launchers (even paid for one), the problem still exists.
Basically, if I move my finger all the way up to the top and pull it down, it will work, but if I use the swipe down anywhere gesture offered by 3rd party launchers, it will not. And yes, I have tried different gesture options but none of them works.
Given Note 3 is a large phone and I have been using the same way to pull down my notification bar for many many years, it's very inconvenient for me to operate the phone now. And I am pretty sure there's many more out there with the problem who would understand the frustration I am having now.
I am not sure if it's the rom or if there's anything in regards of the settings... if anyone knows anything about how to fix this. it will be really great!
Anyone? Any ideas? Please?

Has bixby/all in one gesture method been broken by an update?

My last S8+ worked fine but on my newest (Newest update) S8+ when i try to add a custom key bixby opens but no key is ever added to the list in order to customize it. Anyone else experiencing this?
Thanks
Dave
everyone experiences this, they've hidden the keycode in an update a few days after release.
in the themes/apps section here there are several alternatives which detect bixby launching instead of the actual keypress, they'll still work.
Well that sucks. I did use an alternate but i just liked that method the best.

[REQUEST] Navigation Gestures like Oneplus 5T

I don't know much about how ROMs are built and how features are added to the custom ROMs..
So I just wanted to know if the newly introduced navigation gestures can be made available to our device.
1. Are the developers of our device interested in implementing this feature?
2. Is it even a possibility?
3. If its not possible right now what future development or source code release can make it possible?
4. If it's possible is it a lot of work?
Cheers,
Pankaj

When I had the nexus 4, I used that app, I mapped the back button in the lower left corner and they turned back down right, it worked fine
