GRX TouchWiz Mod (For Non-Rooted Phone) - Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Themes, Apps, and Mods

Hello Guys,
Most of them Wanted GRX TouchWiz Mode for Non-Rooted Phones So i have Modded the GRX to work on Galaxy Note-9 SM-N960F and SM-N960U Only (oreo 8.1) (No Root Required)
Installation Guide,
1) Install the TouchWiz.apk and GRXTouchWiz.apk as Normal Installation you do
2) If you have the SABS or Package disabler pro you disable the Samsung Touchwiz.apk (or you if dont have app to disable no issue, just go to settings and make touchwiz home in installed apps section as default Launcher)
3) Then go to settings and give permissions for the TouchWizHome.apk for Phone and storage and go to Advance options and then turn ON apps that can appear on top, and apps that can change system settings.
Thats it, all done
In case If the Installation fails then go to settings/Apps/(press on 3 dot option)/Show system app/Samsung Experience Launcher/(press on 3 dot option)/Uninstall Update/ Then Re-Follow the Installation Guide from 1st
Bugs in GRX TouchWiz mod
In landscape mode the apps text wont come and the widgets wont resize properly

and to @RogueList for converting it to Snapdragon Note 9

Thank you bro. ?

Most appreciated my brother.

Does anyone have this working yet?
I get a message when opening (going home, I should say):
Clones are device-locked
This helps to prevent abuse and redistribution of cloned apps
Please use App Cloner to recreate the clone on this target device.....
And more following including my device id and such.
I have actually never seen this message before, But I have also never really messed around with touchwiz before.
Any advice?

You are the man my friend. Many thanks for this exciting mod!

I got this very same message. Would love to know what the solution is. Thanks for the mod.

I keep getting the ':Clones are device locked' message. I am using a N960U. Is this an Exynos specific port?

Thank you!

Serious? This is Exynos only? - what is different about touchwiz between the 2? I would seriously consider going back to touchwiz with this.
Whenever I see my wife using her stock S8, I honestly am somewhat jealous of how fluid it looks....

Thank you! Perfect!

Is there any possibility of a Snapdragon port?

Sorry! i dont have Snapdragon device to test, Cant help.

Thanks for this. One thing I like is that it would allow increasing grid size, but curious if there are other features? Also, to revert back to Samsung Experience if needed, do we just choose it as default Home again, and uninstall?

you can uninstall this if you dont want, (there are more features like the icons go edge below the navigation bar much more explore in the GRX mode settings apk for more customisation

Thanks. Trying it now.
Is there a way to eliminate that 'zero page' from opening, what is it? Keeps opening as the settings crashes every now and then.
Also, is there a way to remove Dock Icon texts?
Thanks.

[Q] Replace SystemUI to get rid of S5 quick settings

I hate the quick settings in the notification panel of my Galaxy S5.
I'd like to disable it. I've searched for an Xposed module to do the work, but the closes I got was a "Xposed G-Touchwiz" tha helped me to hide the S-finder and Quick Connect buttons.
So I was wondering... Is it possible (or will it work if) to replace the SystemUI.apk with a version from, let say, CM? I'm not sure what else the SystemUI do, but I've crazy seen people replacing it to get the S5 quick settings buttons.
I would appreciate if anyone knows how to get rid of the quick settings in notification shade of the stock Galaxy S5.
Thanks.

It won't work with a cm systemui.apk. will most likely give you a ton of force closes. There are many custom Roms though with it either turned off or the option of turning the bar off. Just pull the systemui.apk from these Roms and replace yours.

Hi,
I guess you did this in a custom rom? And compiled it yourself?
If so.. Could you share it maybe? I could integrate it into my Xposed module "Xposed G-Touchwiz" ofcourse with credits to you =).
Thanks,

I've replaced the SystemUI,apk from the AOKP rom, but I'm missing something.
What I did:
In folder /system/priv-app
Renamed SystemUI.apk to SystemUI.apk.old
Renamed SystemUI.apk to SystemUI.odex.old
Copy the new SystemUI.apk to the folder /system/priv-app
Changed permissions of the new file, so it match the permission of the original file (rw-r--r--).
Reboot
It didn't work. One time I got the same notification shade as if I haven't done anything. Other time the notification area was completely gone.
The problem, I think, is that I don't have the SystemUI.odex file, nor could I find it on the AOKP rom.
Can you please enlighten me?

Its an option in my rom. The aim of the rom is to make people realise that they dont HAVE to use xposed. There are still people doing things the old way and modding the base files. The one in the screenshot is part of Kitkat style and you can switch to it or a whole bunch of other styles in one click.
For example you could have S5 style but then turn toggles off....
And then maybe sfinder off....
Or have a carbon look with toggles at the bottom...
If you like to change stuff to suit your taste you should try it!

Hi! You just sold me your fish! (Its a Brazilian expression!)
I installed Alliance ROM and I'm pretty much satisfied. Nice work you've done!
But it would be nice to have those features on a Xposed module too.
One thing that I dind't realize how to do is how to get rid of the second page toggles (the page on notification shade that shows all the toggles). As a suggestion, it would be nice to have a way to hide some of those useless icons/toggles.
Just for future reference (for those who tried), do NOT attempt to use SystemUIs from other devices/roms especially on an odexed rom. Thats recipe for FC's and bootlooops.
Xposed happens to be my only option at the moment.
Goldie, I would love an allianceRom version for sprint! Until then, how did you do it? I tried pulling the systemui.apk but couldn't find an editable xml. Any pointer would be awesome.

The kitkat firmware is very amusing and i wonder how many more secrets it hides from us

[HOW TO] Activate Hidden Lockscreen Effect in Galaxy Tab3

Just Followed this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2342370 to activate lockscreen particle effect and i can confirm it's working with my T311 with Stock Kitkat ROM , dont know it will works or not with other devices.
Before Follow this Guide, make sure you have rooted your phone.
1) Download sqlite editor app here
2) Open the app and give it root permissions. It should populate a list.
3) Scroll and Tap the "Settings Storage"
4) Tap "Settings.db"
5) Tap "System"
6) Scroll down until you find "lockscreen_ripple_effect"
7) Highlight it and Tap "Edit Record" and change the value between 1-7 (default is 3).
change it to 0, you get the original circle lockscreen.
change it to 1, you get the water ripple effect..
change it to 2, you get the lens flare effect.
change it to 3, you get the particle effect.
change it to 4, you get the N3 water effect.
change it to 5, you get an Xperia-like effect.
change it to 6, you get something like the circle lockscreen, but with a line.
change it to 7, you get something that's a mixture between original circle lock and ripple lockscreen.
11) Save and try the new lockscreen effect.
PS : If you reboot your device, the effect will revert back to default. You have to change manually each time you reboot your device.
Update
i have succesfully add an option to choose the unlock effect in settings menu, but unfortunately its same with previous, it will revert back to "none" each time i reboot.

sure here for you all:
just one bug under fixing, the printing icon too big
Settings are completely inverted with some touch of black, will work of course with screenshot rom version(not sure about other KK ones)
New lockscreen effects enabled, those will revert to none after reboot...still under fixing.
I do not have so much time, but entire blacked out theme will be out when finished..... some fixes needed in framework as some text is still unreadable.
For that popup in previous post regarding effects(Tab S style) u need framework, which has stiil some bugs(you are feel free to ask but no moaning as i'm already aware of bugs )
here is the apk, push it via adb or qtadb, or use a root explorer giving rw-r-r permissions

otherwise do so:
put again stock settings, via ur method choose value 5, save and check in lockscren effects in settings, noone will be checked.
then reboot and flash mine.
if not, do same and push apk via adb or qtadb.

All credits and thanks please give them to the persons mentioned before. I only modified a few .xmls.
Have a great day.
I forgot to mention that I tested it only on my Galaxy Tab 3 10.1. It should work on other devices too.
This app not working on my rom ver: T311DXUAMG1.

Try signing the apk using ZipSigner from Market. Then it might be installed as normal apk.
Does anybody have backup of stock t315 launcher ? I forget to backup, and now launcher just force close and won't work.
edit. Or does somebody know another way to get back to stock launcher ?
Hey, guys, following this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...-enable-hidden-apps-seclauncher4-nf4-t2809039 I managed to enable in this launcher the option to hide apps.
Now it's a perfect launcher.

I have not tried that, but I might. But I do not want to override my current Touchwiz launcher with this one.

S6 & S6 Edge remove Sfinder & Quick connect

Hay guys.
For those of us now on the S6 & S6 edge, here is a small app to remove s finder & quick connect bar.
And a big THANKS to @AL_IRAQI for this.
SFinder & Quick connect
EDIT> With some testing I saw that some users can not install app. (This app may work on any device with the s finder & quick connect bar)
Please download the attached zip, extract the folder and then copy the folder you have extracted to /data/app and then reboot.

Yes, just delete the folder in /data/app.
how it works exactly? thanks btw
I'm curious why this is needed? You can simply choose not to have those shown when you edit the quick settings menu? Excuse my ignorance but I'm trying to find why this is an problem?
I'm also interested in how you got the "Mobile Data" option to show up b/c by default it is not an option at least on ATT S6, S6E models.
Cheers

It's needed because not every variant allows you to remove them using the quick settings. Why don't you just use the quick settings to enable the "Mobile Data" option? Exactly.
I see, that makes sense, I was under the impression you can change those quick settings by all variants.
The mobile data option is not available to choose. Apparently ATT has decided to remove it. I was unable to find a CSC option to turn it on. There is a way to turn off mobile data but it requires a few more clicks to get there. Not sure why they did this but I guess you can say the same for those carriers that don't allow you to remove or change the quick settings.
I found this video explain how to do it yourself with excellent and clear instruction no app or anything https://youtu.be/W_0B_xASkq4
Easy way to remove it it to change your build.prop product name to zeroltevzw since Verizon doesn't have it on their roms. Might change your LTE icon upon reboot unless you have certain lines in your csc file.
Anyway check out this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3090551
There seems to be an option for removing the S finder and Quick Connect buttons in the 5.1.1 update, as shown by Sammobile.

Does it work for International version? I've tried searching, and there is no "app" subfolder inside "data" folder.

Didn't work for me at first. Then I checked the permission of the folder and it was different from all the others in /data/app, so I changed it and now it works perfect. Thanks for the awesome mod!
