Ampere during charging of Huawei P Smart FIG-LX1 - Huawei P Smart Questions & Answers

On my Huawei P Smart I tried to install Ampere to check the mA during charging. With the original charger the app marked me max 870 mA. It seemed strange, because the charger is 2A and because with 1000 mA during charging it would take 3 hours to charge the 3000 mAh battery, and the smartphone takes less (not so much less in fact).
Disappointed by the app, I tried to make a partial charge from 24% to 91% (with another non-original 2A charger) in 1h 56m 30s. 67% charge = 2010 mAh in 1,94 hours, so 2010 / 1,94 = 1036 mA during the charge.
I specify that during charging the phone was on (not in use). Do you think that is right? It is not a little slow? Do you have a feedback to give me about?
(Sorry for my English not so good)

I can not confirm.
At me from 90 % to 100 % pressure of a charge to 200 falls, but hour is charged not, 15 it is no more minutes.
Can try to calibrate to you the battery.

This is the charging characteristic of lithium ion battery. Current will be lower as it is near to full capacity. You can Google for it.
I fix this problem by drain batt to 10% and charge to Full by Docking. Now it come in to normal (Stand by around 2 days.)

what is the charging speed of this phone?

thanks
It takes me about an hour and a half to 100% from 0

For me it takes 2-2.5 hours from 0 to 100%.
I have official LG charger (1.2 mA), LG wireless charger (2.1 mA), BlackBerry playbook folding blade charger (1.8 mA).
I have GSAM battery monitor widget and Current widget installed and no matter which charger I use input current is between 800-900 mAh!
Is it OK to keep the device charging overnight

Turbo Charger is able to supply at least 6% of charge for at least 45minutes, then it slows down to 4% per 5minutes until it's fully charged. That last 2% charge did take a lot longer though.
Trent charger is pretty much constant at 4% per 5 minutes, then down to 3% increase after it got to 92% charged.
I'll try a 1A charger next, lol I also have a Nexus 10 charger to try as well. I dont have a 3A charger to test.
Awesome info. Just curious why you start from 5%?

That's what the phone was at at the time I thought about doing it.
it's probably an 8%-10% increase per 5mins for the first 15mins for the Turbo Charger.
i'll do another this weekend.

Hey can you update it again as mine is taking 90-100 mins to chagre with the tubro charger itself.
Thanks
How hot does the battery get when you are turbo charging it? IIRC, hotter batteries = shorter battery life overall.
what happen to 15 min 60% charge lol.
my battery gets pretty hot/warm when charging.
I think it was 6 hours of usage (overall, not 6 hours of gaming) in 15 min. And with my battery lasting 36+ hours, that 23% would def get me 6 hours.

yours is about the same. mine charged in 93mins w/ the Turbo Charger. I dont think 3-7 mins is that much of a difference.
Now that I've added a few more apps tho, it might be a lil more. I'll try time it again.

Thanks a lot man. Will keep waiting for it

Also tried an Anker 60W 6port USB charger.
It has Power IQ where it's supposed to adjust charging power to what the device requires. I think it's supposed to max out between 2a - 2.4a
Well, from completely drained out battery, it took a full 3hrs to fully charge the device.
If you want your device charged fast, don't get this charger.
If you have time to wait and a lot of devices to charge all at once and like to travel, get this device.
Has anyone monitored the voltage/current output of their turbo charger? I cannot get to the "turbo 2" output (12 V, 1.2 A) listed on the charger. Even from 4% battery, I max out ~ 9 V, 1.5 A, which is listed as "turbo 1". In my test today, charging was pretty constant around 1.3% per minute up to 60%, then dropped off as expected. Some more data: starting at 4%, here are the total times (in minutes) to critical percentages.

I haven't seen it use the 12V output yet. Its not s large difference 13.5 W for turbo and 14.4 W for 12V. I wonder how much faster it would charge and if it's a software or hardware limitation

What app r u using to see the current output?? Ill check mine too
I personally found that the stock cable that comes with the phone doesn't allow for that much voltage/amperage to pass through it. I do have another cable at home that is thicker and it charges it a whole lot faster. I will try and get the data for it.
So what's the best cable and wall plug for fastest charging?

18 watts?
I am getting similar results as the OP. It works out to about 2400maH, which is about 75% charge in one hour. This is theoretically about the same as you would get from a 5v 2.4A (12w) amp non-turbo charger, which I have achieved with my "Note 3" 2.4A standard charger. One would think the turbo charger would charge about 50% faster on the Nexus 6 either at 9v 2A, or 12v 1.5A, which is 18w, which I haven't heard of anyone achieving.

For some reason, I don't trust those turbo chargers. I think I'll stay with a regular 2.1A charger. It doesn't charge real fast, but I have time and it may be safer for the battery.
My charging rate

I just discovered that latest firmware charge slower than stock firmware

hi yesterday i just bought zenfone 2 4gb 32gb rom 2.3ghz..
I tried to charge from 20% to 100% its just took 30 minute
when i measured the charge rate using app called Ampere, it showing that the charge rate is BURST and the charge speed is at 2500mA
wow i was extremely happy knowing my phone charge very fast!
but when after i update it just now to the latest version
it took so long to charge the phone
and when i measured with Ampere software it only charging at 1500mA!
wow the charge speed is almost HALFED! are you kidding me???
i wish i didnt update to the latest firmware!
Did you charge from 20% again?
20% to 100% in 30 minutes?
In past firmware there known issue the battery not charged correctly (ex : only 1500mAh charged showing 100% instead 50%)
normally from 0 - 100% arround 1 hour and 40 minutes
yes is slower than usual. tested on app call (battery charging source and current) the data is really slower than last firmware. normal charging rates should be 70k-85k if with asus original charger it can climb to 150k ma. now is unstable sometime drop to 8k 9k ma.

Charging speed throttling poor stock thermal values

So the issue is I bought quick charge 3.0 adapter from xiaomi site but it isn't making much difference because stock thermal values are too limiting
It charges 2800 ma while temp is >37 c
2300-2400 at > 39c
After that at 1900
Is there any way to start throttling from 44-45 c
im shocked 2800mA charginig speed in RN7 as it is capable of 18W fast charging only
but well from my experience with different phones is that as the phone going to full charge especially after 85 % i experienced mobile heatup and the charging current drops, but i think your issue may arise during low charge mode as well
first of all charge your screen while keeping display off and after every 15 minutes you can check for the average charging current and temperature for that session via Accubattery easily
by the way which app are you using for charging current
app is not accurate for checking, use USB voltmeter direct to charger to check charging amps,
in a hot country with high temperatures >30C.....then quick charge will throttle faster as battery heats.
mi 2a charger (redmi note 7pro)
even regular 2a charger (with redmi n7pro) thermal throttle.
i put my phone in charging for an hour ago and i checked suddenly and it has charged only 20% (21% to 42%) and after changing charger the charging speed was back on and also the mi charger was hot would be aroung 30 to 35 celcius.
