I want to buy a Nokia X6 - Questions - Nokia 6.1 Plus (X6) Questions & Answers

Hi,
I want to buy a black Nokia X6 for use on T-Mobile in the United States. However, the international unlocked model (from Hong Kong) with Google Play Services only comes in blue and white. The white would have been nice if the camera module was black, but I digress.
The other problem is that the international unlocked model is more expensive.
So, my questions:
1) Would it be worth it to buy the black Chinese model instead?
2) Would I be able to flash the international firmware onto it (unlocked version from Hong Kong)?
3) If so, would I be missing anything from the international model? Eg. Will I get OTA updates just like I had the international model?
4) Would I be able to get LTE on T-Mobile here in the US with either version? I'm finding conflicting info regarding LTE bands.
Many thanks!

When did you get it?
Could you make screenshots with model and phone names and with the firmware version please?

Yes, you are probably correct. Works 100% great, though. So don't let that stop you from buying it.

Will N9005 work worldwide?

Hi, if i am buying the n9005 instead of n9000 then will it work worldwide? The thing is that N9005 only has Snapdragon 800 whereas N9000 has Octacore 5420 which is faster.
Better off buying 9000 if you want full capability minus lte. 9005 is the better choice if you want lte but don't plan on using lte in the USA. And claiming either one is faster is moot because they're both fast. The choice for me would be which is more efficient if you're not including lte into the equation.
Region Lock
B"H
It appears that all the phones, including the N900 and the N9005 are region locked. Meaning, if you buy a Euro version - it will not work with a USA sim card, and vice-versa.
Samsung really screwed this one up, big time.

One bought in the Americas. There is a thread in the Note 3 General forum discusssing the specific limitations of the "unlocked" Note 3 which now turns out to be only partially unlocked.

Are there any issues with buying an X Play from a carrier? (XT1563 model)

I'd like to get one and my easiest way of acquiring one is through a local carrier, but I'm worried if it will have some kind of pitfall. Will I stop getting updates? Will they be slow to arrive? Can it be turned to a stock pure version without the bloatware via a stock rom? Is it worth it? Keep in mind it's the XT1563 latin american version. And the carrier is Nextel.
I bought mine from Mercadolibre (XT1563), I wasnt aware I got the double sim version until I opened it, it seem mine runs with the iusacell rom.
I have been asking my self the same questions.
Updates may be a bit slower to come out. As for bloatware, the only one I found on my Koodo device was the Koodo Self Serve app.
I got mine through Telus, it doesn't have anything extra (Telus bloatware). Updates come in not to bad from them (timely).

Is there any difference for example with he bands it supports? Any hardware changes? Thanks in advance!
Take a look at the connectivity here: http://consumer.huawei.com/minisite/worldwide/nexus6p/specifications.htm
US and Rest of the world version.

What about the software? Is there any difference? I mean it's the same factory image can be used and gets the same updates at the same time?

I have no idea about the software, I don't have the phone yet (Netherlands).
I assume it will all be the same though.

Last Nexus I had was the Galaxy Nexus, there were different versions and you had change things similar to carrier ID and model ID -it's been a long time I don't remember what it was exactly- in order to receive updates from Google, and to be able to flash the factory images

I've been using custom roms on my Nexus 4 for about 1.5-2 years now, and never had issues with carrier or model IDs.
Hopefully it's the same way for the 6P as well.

[Rumor] Android Nougat

Hi Guys,
As you know the axon 7 is not available for the moment in Europe.
I've pre ordered it, but on the page (not visible except with the complete URL) you can now see this :

I've tryed to get some information on twitter :
"Is it true that the new order will be delivered with Android Nougat"
"I cannot answer before the end of the IFA"
True or not ?
I believe it is.
Kinda stands to reason seeing as it's named one of the phones to run Daydream when Google launched it.
Where did you pre-order it from? Can you link to the page?

We all know it will get getting Nougat but I wouldn't expect it so soon unless ZTE got special treatment from Google and Qualcomm.

I miss the time when XDA post use to less gossipy.
That nougat logo was put on several dozen phones. All it means are those phones will be getting the update, not soon, not launched with, but eventually.

"Your device is corrupt. It can't be trusted and will not boot."

I restarted my phone and this popped up on my screen.

I can't get to recovery or Fastboot but it does get detected by my pc when I hold volume up and down and press the power button. Any suggestions on what to do next?
Use msmtool. If your device is global use the global msmtool, if TMO, use TMO one

What if I'm using a tmobile device, but on the international OOS?
If you want to use TMO software on TMO device, use this
If you want to convert TMO device to international, use this
If you have an International device and want to use international software, use this

Once someone converts the tmobile device to international, there's no difference between the two devices, correct? The hardware and software are the same?
I did the tmobile convert to international months ago. I was just wondering if I ever got into one of these sticky situations, which tool I should use.
Yes, no difference . If you ever got into sticky situation, just use the msmtool that you used to convert before.
