Samsung galaxy core 2 duos SM-G355H storage problem - Samsung Galaxy Core 2 Questions & Answers

Hello,
I have a problem with Samsung SM-G355h.
When I enter in settings/storage or in any application details, system can't calculate how much storage that application occupies or any oder memory space beside available space (there's just calculate... where space amount should be). Besides that I can install apps but can't uninstall them (uninstalling is working but never finishes), there is no error massages. After a while phone just restarts.
I tried following things:
- wipe data and cash, reset to factory settings;
- I used Odin to install newer and older firmware (official);
but it is always the same.
Phone isn't rooted and has no custom rom in it.
If someone has idea what I can do more, his suggestion will be most welcome.
Phone software specifications:
Android version: 4.4.2
Baseband version: G355HXXU0AOB3
Kernel version: 3.10.17-5115844 [email protected] #2 Thu Jan 5 21:10:36 KST 2017
Build number: KOT49H.G355HXXS0AQA4
Security software version: ASKS v1.2_161011
Thank you for your attention

[Q] android.rocess.acore has stopped message after KitKat update

I have the Nexus 4 and I'm getting a really annoying error. I had the latest pre-KitKat stock ROM on it yesterday. I received the KitKat OTA update and proceeded to install it. It installed fine and went through the application optimisation steps and once it did it's final reboot it came up with an "Unfortunately, the process android.process.acore has stopped". I've got options to Report or click Ok. Clicking Ok will just bring the message back often immediately but sometimes with a few seconds gap. I could interact with the UI between dialogs but literally have split seconds so made navigation extremely slow (i.e. takes a dozen attempts sometimes to click on something behind the dialog).
I've tried a full factory resetting from the phone menu and from the recovery menu, both have done nothing. The phone continues to display the error as soon as the phone boots up after the reset (i.e. before I even go through the phone setup).
I've managed to Report the issue and Preview the details which reveal the following:
Report type: Crash
Package name: com.android.providers.userdictionary
Package version: 19
Package version name: 4.4-920375
Installed by: com.google.android.gms
Process name: android.process.acore
System app: true
Device: mako
Build Id: KRT16S
Build type: user
Build fingerprint: google/occam/mako:4.4/KRT16S/920375:user/release-keys
Product: occam
SDK version: 19
Release: 4.4
Incremental version: 920375

Board: MAKO
Brand: google
Exception class name: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException
Source file: BaseDexClassLoader.java
Source class: dalvik.system.BaseDexClassLoader
Source method: findClass

I've also tried google searching, various other people have had the same issue but what they did to resolve it hasn't worked for me.
Does anyone know what I can do for this?
I'm going to try the full stock binary image from Google's website (https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images#razorkrt16s). Surely this must resolve the issue.

[Q] A500 downgrade / mounting internal memory

Hi guys,
sorry if there are already another topics like mine. I’ve searched here as well as other forums, but didn’t found a solution.
I bought an Acer A500 32GB WiFi-Only second hand. It comes out that probably the last user has installed a custom ROM. The following information became I from “About tablet”:
Model number: A500
Android version: 4.3.1
Kernel version: 3.8.13.13-digetx-thor-t45
[email protected] #1
Thu Nov 14 15:55:22 EET 2013
CPU: ARMv7 Processor rev 0 (v7l)
Memory: 718 MB <<<--- why not 1GB?
CyagonedMod version: Tegraowners JB-MR2 ROM v6 (thor & digetx)
Build date: Wed Nov 20 09:11:51 EET 2013
Build number: Picasso-userdebug 4.3.1 JLS36l.eng.thor2002ro20131120.091122 test-keys
SELinux status: Permissive
When I start it it shows:
Skrilax_CZ`s bootloader V9
Booting primary kernel image
Booting android image from LNX partition …
With it I can do nothing. The internal storage is only 122 MB – I receive constantly messages for low space. Because of this I can’t install apps bigger than 500kB. The “Play Store” is also not working. When I try to install anything the status goes “Downloading…”, but never ends.
I am not so well grounded in the area of ROMs, because of this I need your advice. I want to use this tablet for normal stuff like Skype-talks, PDF`s readying and so on.
Is the size of my internal memory so small because of this firmware, or it is a hardware problem? How can I fix it or at least find a possibility to mount a SD card and installing all applications directly there?
Please, give me directions how to downgrade my current firmware, to an original version of Acer or someone better than this. Is this in general possible?
Best wishes!
I realized that I need a real format. So i did the following things:
1) Turn Off the tablet
2) Hold "+" Button and "Power" button together. When it vibrates continue to hold only the + Button.
3) Enter in Boot recovery mode
4) Enter "Backup and Restore" and click on "Toggle backup and restore of internal storage (/data/media)"
should say enabled....
6) Enter into "Mounts and Storage"
7) "format /data"
8) Go out of this mode and start the tablet - it takes a little longer than normal.
9) Have a working play store and visible internal memory!

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S4?

Well, hello guys. I have came here because I have no idea what to do right now. I bought what I thought it was a Samsung S4 GT-I9500, but now I'm not sure. For you to know, this is my cellphone's review:
dhgate.com/product/i9500-1-1-quad-core-mtk6589-s4-android-4/163955856.html
All my concern started when I bought a Claro SIM from Argentina. I insterted it once, no sim insterted, tried a couple of time, recognized the Operator Claro AR, but no signal, no conection, only emergency calls. I thought well, SIM must have broken when they cutted it. Due lack of time I didn't do much after that, and 2 weeks passed. Now searching in internet about how to make battery last longer, I found how to root my cellphone and I said HELL YEAH, I want to control it all! I didn't have my cellphone with me, so I just kept reading and watching tutorials, you know, recovery & download mode, CWM, ODIN, much things I wanted to do.
One thing I wanted to do also was to download a ROM for my cellphone, a firmware that was for Claro Argentina.
GT-I9500 Galaxy S 4
PDA: I9500UBUBMG1
CSC: I9500UWABMG1
MODEM: I9500UBUBMG1
Then I got my cellphone back, and here started my worries:
1) Vol Down + Menu + Power don't get me to the Download mode, instead I got to a "Factory mode" in chinese, or some Asian languaje, wich of course I don't understand. So had to change my strategy to root.
2) KIES does not recognice my cellphone, in fact, my device name in the PC is similar to "Android MT65** device". The "SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones" does not much I can say Had to change it one more time
3) Downloaded SnapPea, cellphone on USB Debug mode, plugged, everything seemed to be fine, and then I should have recieved the RSA key on my android... nothing. I turned ON and OFF the USB debbuging mode at least 100 times, cellphone plugged, unplugged, turned on and off the phone, restarted the computer, uninstaled Samsung drivers, uninstaled "Android MT65** device". NOTHING, never got that ask box. So I couldn't use Impactor
4) Time for some PdaNet, tried version 4.15, 4.01 and 3.00. I tried not reinstalling the drivers, reinstalling the drivers, uninstalling manually every single android driver on my PC, tried with Samsung and Other. All I got what, in version 4.01 and 3.00 "Error trying to handshake the device", and with the lastest version: HTC Sync error = -1. I didn't even have HTC installed, but i downloaded and installed it just to say "hey, I've done it, now what will be your excuse?". from this point on I got no more idea to go, but I kept searching, and I could do nothing.
Now, there are some details i want to share with you about my "Samsung Galaxy S4" if I can call it like that.
1) My boot logo is not Samsung GT-I9500 and whatsoever, it is a green Android and "Android" written below, and then a blue thing flying arround a blue android.
2) My battery last TOO little, in use with Wi-Fi and playing, it can last 3, 4 hours at 100% charge. Sometimes it doesn't charge to 100%, and usually it shuts down (and I don't mean the "shutting down" message, no, it's like it dies from one second to another) between 15% and 13%, never seen less than 12%, and sometimes even before telling me "low battery". But well, that can be a battery problem, at least I can try to download something to regulate battery consumption, or if you can suggest something.
3) This one is funny: My storage settings:
Internal Storage:
Total: 12.98 GB
Aviabable: 89 MB
Applications: 785 MB
Cache: 21 MB
SDCard:
Total: 17.90 GB (Hey, I didn't know my old 2GB SDCard could do that!)
Aviabable: 474 MB
App: 832 MB
Images: 704 KB
Downloads: 1 MB
Cache: 55 MB
Hilarious, isn't it. I thought it was a smartphone.
4) Something I crossed just wondering... my IMEI: 2222222222222222 / 01 (I don't know if I placed the right number of 2s, but you get the idea)... never on my life saw that.
5) All the "Samsung S4" features are not present on this phone. (all those fancy apps that starts with Samsung)
Well, I think thats all what's relevant. What can I do? Can I flash my cellphone, install a CWM, get the Download mode instead that chinese factory mode, get the root access, and install a Claro ROM? What cellphone do I have? D:
And here I list you my cellphone info, as descripted by the android system itself, and Antutu Benchmark.

Well, thats all guys. Thanks in advance Oh and sorry for my bad english.
Hi,
sorry you have a fake Samsung! Nothing in the Samsung forums is relevant to your phone and experience from other fake galaxy threads there Is no one can help you either. So don't be surprised if no one jumps in to help.
In fact don't be surprised if there are certain members abusing you either as it has happened before.
Sorry fellow xda member.

This forum is for people that have genuine samsung s4 models.
The selling price tells you that it MAY be a fake at first view:
US $128.25 - 135.0
Here in Vietnam.
Sorry Man
But just in order to help you it seems your IMEI (IMEI: 22222222222222222 ) is wrong and your phone is messed somewhere. So no phone call are possible.
You bought it from DHGate. Nuff said. Definitely a fake I'm afraid mate.

[Q] Philz Recovery - Can anybody help me with Backup Error Message Issue ?

Philz Touch Recovery:
CWM Base version v6.0.4.9
Compiled June 17 at 20:41:18
Backing up only works to about 1975 or 1982 files out of 3160 then i get error.
Following Appears on screen:
I dont know why but i get this error everytime i try and backup:
bugreports"): No such file or directory
Done 1854/2978Mb - Free 16739Mb
E:Error while making a backup image of /data!
press any key to continue
I upgraded to Philz Touch Recovery 6.53.9 in hopes this would remedy the problem.
CWM Base version: v6.0.5.0
I updated via the 'Install Zip' from /storage/sdcard1 option.
It is almost as if the line with the text 'bugreports' with a quotation mark and then
a closed bracket was referring to data/ifo in a file.
Or could i have a strange file/folder with illegal characters on my phone ????
all the other things seems to back up just fine
/boot - OK
/recovery - OK
/system - OK
/data - Problem exists here.

If you search your Build Number you will find a full firmware you could flash
Is rooted ?
I wonder what a factory reset 'available from menu' would do ?

Tried factory reset but the prob still remains. I think factory reset depends on the files on the root folder of the device. So if i change or delete something in the root/system/... . Factory reset will just erase the files outside root folder. Its juz my understanding though. ?
Install stock firmware for your device, and always make a nandroid backup.
