[Q] android.rocess.acore has stopped message after KitKat update - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have the Nexus 4 and I'm getting a really annoying error. I had the latest pre-KitKat stock ROM on it yesterday. I received the KitKat OTA update and proceeded to install it. It installed fine and went through the application optimisation steps and once it did it's final reboot it came up with an "Unfortunately, the process android.process.acore has stopped". I've got options to Report or click Ok. Clicking Ok will just bring the message back often immediately but sometimes with a few seconds gap. I could interact with the UI between dialogs but literally have split seconds so made navigation extremely slow (i.e. takes a dozen attempts sometimes to click on something behind the dialog).
I've tried a full factory resetting from the phone menu and from the recovery menu, both have done nothing. The phone continues to display the error as soon as the phone boots up after the reset (i.e. before I even go through the phone setup).
I've managed to Report the issue and Preview the details which reveal the following:
Report type: Crash
Package name: com.android.providers.userdictionary

I've also tried google searching, various other people have had the same issue but what they did to resolve it hasn't worked for me.
Does anyone know what I can do for this?

I'm going to try the full stock binary image from Google's website (https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images#razorkrt16s). Surely this must resolve the issue.

Games not going into landscape mode so I can play them.

Ok I recently rooted my Kindle Fire and installed ICS, this is my info:
Model number: Amazon Kindle Fire
Android version: 4.0.4
Kernel version: 3.0.21+
[email protected] #23
SMP PREEMPT Sat Apr 28 01:19:39 PDT 2012
Build number: IMM76D
Mod version: aokp_otter_build-M5
Ok so I am loving it and everything works great but after buying and installing Order & Chaos I was getting this error:
"We are having trouble identifying your device. Our support teams automatically received information about your phone and are trying to solve the issue for you. You can try to launch the game again in 48h or, alternatively, you can contact our support team directly: [email protected]."
I was then told by member Stage to edit my build prop to something that is compatible with the game. I found another thread talking about editing the build.prop and edited mine (after making a back-up) to:
Ro.product.device=cdma_solana
Ro.product.model=DROID3
Ro.product.brand=verizon
Ro.product.name=solana_vzw
Ro.product.board=solana
Ro.product.manufacturer=motorola
Ro.build.fingerprint=verizon/solana_vzw/cdma_solana:2.3.4/5.5.1_84_D3G-20_TA-9/110613:user/release-keys
After a reboot it downloaded the additional data and ran but it is locked in portrait mode and half the screen is off the screen. I tried out other games and they all do the same. I checking both system settings and trebuchet settings and auto-rotate screen is check in both. I unchecked and tried it and the same, I checked again and it is still staying in portrait mode.
Thinking the DROID3 settings are messing it up I restored the back-up build.prop and verified all my original Amazon Kindle Fire information is back but it is still doing the same thing.
How do I fix this so that the games go into landscape again? I have rebooted about five times.
Ok wow, I figured it out but not sure why it was doing it in the first place. To fix it I started the game and then went into the system settings from there and toggled the auto-rotate option and now they are all working right. What caused this?

[Q] Odin crashes

I tried 2 different versions of Odin to root my Galaxy S5. Its now TF but I had insurance so meh. My main problem is that Odin keeps crashing on me after it starts doing its thing. I have no idea what I'm doing now and the recovery mode wont work either.
This is the error I keep getting. Does anyone know what happened?

Also the main reason I tried to do this in the first place is I contracted a virus on my phone but no anti virus app I tried could delete it or even detect it. Another app I got said I had an "Air Push" virus. Is there a way to disable the Air Push thingy on my phone?

Samsung galaxy core 2 duos SM-G355H storage problem

Hello,
I have a problem with Samsung SM-G355h.
When I enter in settings/storage or in any application details, system can't calculate how much storage that application occupies or any oder memory space beside available space (there's just calculate... where space amount should be). Besides that I can install apps but can't uninstall them (uninstalling is working but never finishes), there is no error massages. After a while phone just restarts.
I tried following things:
- wipe data and cash, reset to factory settings;
- I used Odin to install newer and older firmware (official);
but it is always the same.
Phone isn't rooted and has no custom rom in it.
If someone has idea what I can do more, his suggestion will be most welcome.
Phone software specifications:
Android version: 4.4.2
Baseband version: G355HXXU0AOB3
Kernel version: 3.10.17-5115844 [email protected] #2 Thu Jan 5 21:10:36 KST 2017

Eonon GA2175

Hello everyone.
For my first post here I'd like to share and learn more about rooting the EONON GA2175. This Android HU currently operating with Oreo on a RK3326_mid chipset. So after an exhaustive search, there is not much information available in rooting this system. It seems that's this HU seems to be almost completely locked down. For starters, I wasn't able to even access developer mode through the build number as usual. I was finally able to get through by installing a developer access app called "Developer Options Shortcut & Device Info" on the app store.
Using one click apps like Kingo Root, Root Master or Towel Root are completely ineffective. As a matter of fact, Root Master says my "phone is too strong"
I tried connecting the unit to a laptop by using a male to male USB cable. But both my laptop of the HU do not recognize each other. Maybe some drivers may help but none are available.
I've watched you tube videos that demonstrating other people rooting similar units by accessing the safe boot option then loading TWRP on a SD card. I believe this is the only way to root these units. However, for this unit I am unable to access safe mode. I've discovered that holding the "Vol/PWR" knob for approximately 10 sec will cause it to start blinking but combinations with the "RST" button, home or quick pressing the "PWR" doesn't work. That's as far as I got.
I hope this helps anyone with the same unit but any help with my roadblock will be greatly appreciated.
Thanx!
UPDATE
So I finally managed to get to recovery mode on this device.
1. With a tooth pick, quick press the "RST" button.
2. Long press the "PWR/VOL" knob for approximately 10secs until the lights blink.
3. Then immediately quick press the "PWR/VOL"
You may need to do it more than once but it'll work.
Well.... now what TWRP version should I use?
I didn't see my HU listed.
Or should I use a different program?
did you end up getting something to work?
Mark
Not yet.
I did manage to find some unit specifics. I'll post them shortly. Maybe some coder can do something with that info. Where I run into a roadblock is that I cannot find a suitable ROM and MCU.
If this help to figure things out.

Get any further with this, wouldn't mind a custom ROM for mine although i'm pretty happy how it works now.
Actually yes!! Type "ADBON" in factory setting password to access developer options. It works. Thanks Ric69!

I am having trouble watching DRM protected content after installing this rom.
The app works well on stock rom but after installing this rom, when I tried watching with the app, I get this error:

I did a wipe and re-installed the rom but the issue persists. Please anyone experienced this kind of issue before and what are possible solutions.
Thanks.
After some digging around I found some solution to the problem.
"Inside the /system/lib/ or the /system/vendor/lib/ partition there is a file stored by the name of liboemcrypto.so. The aforementioned apps make use of this file to play the DRM protected contents"
To solve the problem one can use rename/delete the file. This solution is not recommended.
Recommended solution is to use Magisk to install a module named liboemcrypto disabler .
