Google Developer Site Error - OTA Access Workaround - Google Pixel 2 XL Guides, News, & Discussion

If you've been to https://developers.google.com/android/ota over the last few days, you might have noticed that the Acknowledge button does nothing and the ota's are inaccessible.
Here is a quick fix that worked for me (found on the Google discussion board) until Google acknowledges this issue:
1. Go to https://developers.google.com/android/ota on Firefox.
2. Open the Web Developer and Inspect Element.
3. Use Inspect Element to select the blue Acknowledge button.
4. On the Web Developer panel, select the Storage tab.
5. Right click on Cookies > https://developers.google.com and select Delete All.
6. Without leaving the page, hit the Refresh button on the browser.
7. The OTA's should now be visible.
Hope this helps!

Or if on Windows just use Internet Explorer, it works fine.

IE should still be there. Just click on the start button and begin typing: Internet Explorer
I'm on the latest version of Windows 10.

You can also go to: https://developers.google.cn/android/ota for ota's

I'll try that tomorrow! I didn't know IE was still there. Thanks.

use chrome, but open the page in incognito. works perfect.

Easiest way
open page in incognito mode in chrome or whatever you like. Boom... its there

Though incognito works for some, it didn't work for me. I tried private mode on Chrome, Firefox, IE, and Edge to no avail.
The only fix for me was the one I posted.
Not sure why it seems to work differently for some.

ROFL...wow, really?? No it isn't, IE 11 is alive and well...who uses Edge??? I run 4 different browsers, they are all garbage in their own way.
Today it is IE 11, works fine on the Google site for downloading.

Yes it's there. Much better than Edge IMO. BUT today the Google site is working on both Chrome and Firefox with no special manipulation.

Google has seemed to have fixed the issue. Loading fine on W10 and Chrome now.

Yep, Chrome working... finally!

Google Chrome Metro app out now

https://www.google.com/chrome/eula.html?extra=devchannel&platform=win
Its working pretty good and its nice
It's Chrome.
Yes and I think it's very cool and easy!
Chrome is best on every device! So, I think Chrome on Win 8 is gread!
Enjoying it so far!
Im confused...
Im installed it from the link you provided, But I dont see it installed anywhere??
Thanks for the heads up, gonna check it out tonight.
I'm really liking it so far, it feels just like Chrome and not a Chrome "App".
Only thing I don't like is that its not automatically full screen like the IE app. After entering full screen mode other than having to press F11 to bring the address bar back up it would be nice to just scroll to the top of the screen, or right click like the IE app.
Solid app all together.

Same thing happened to me at first. I already had Chrome pinned to the metro start and when I clicked on it opened regular chrome. After closing it and returning to metro the icon changed to the Chrome app.
non responsive after one day
after using it without much problems (apart from a few crashes freshly after installing), today it has just become unresponsive to touches. opened the internet explorer, it too was unresponsive, reboot didn't help. having made IE back to default browser solved the problem.
been using it on the lenovo x220t convertible
works great I have detected any major bugs.
I installed it but no diff? It doesn't seem to be Metro just normal one.
Edit: Worked now, I don't see any major change, just same old same old Chrome in Full Screen mode.
Does it still support extensions, Does it still have Web Store?
Finally,now I can install windows 8 again

It's not worth it, it's just basic Chrome, matter of fact, the scrolling bar looks like Windows 98! It makes sense lol Windows 98...take out the 9 and there you have it.

Lmfao at the take out the 9! Old jokes aside, Chrome for iOS has OSX Lion scrollbar...
After setting Chrome to default and having a play with it in its Metro form, I quickly went back to using it in Desktop Mode. At the moment it's not worth being a Metro app because it just doesn't work properly. You can't dock it to the sides because it goes a bit dodgy. Hopefully they will do it properly with an update and it will be in the store along with Mozilla's Metro version of Firefox at some point if they are still working on that...
Does it work with HTC Shift?
Works great for me so far... Cool!
It still has a couple of bugs to work out.
I'n not a fan of the chrome metro app. They hadn't followed the metro app design guidelines last time I tried it, and it just seemed like a buggy version of normal chrome.
Did anyone notice that we can't upload files? The file selection window is not showing up and I cannot find anything about this in the web.

This is a BIG DEAL for those on Republic Wireless.
Once we received the 4.4.2 update, outgoing texts would completely disappear (from Motorola Connect) whether you sent them from the phone, or from Moto Connect.
For example: If I sent a text to my friend saying "hello", it WOULD get sent, but the moment Moto Connect refreshed, the sent message would disappear. This made an entire text conversation look like a one-way conversation and was confusing and irritating. ("Did I already reply to that message or not?!?!")
With the new update, ALL messages, sent or received are displayed whether they are sent from the phone itself or from Connect.
This was a known issue on RW phones (because texts are sent through their unique hybrid WiFi / Cell system), and they acknowledged it and claimed to be working on it.
This update was the solution!
I recommend that all RW users update to the new versions ASAP.
Thanks OP

I'm not sure what this means, "Now located in the Apps Tray." I don't see anything new in the Chrome launcher or my Windows 7 notification area/tray. There is an item under the Google Chrome icon in the Notification area/tray which takes you directly to the Moto Connect settings, is that it?

the big deal is that u can now do a phone search from the app in the computer. so if it is lost in the house or anywhere for that matter you can ring it from motorola connect. this is new functionality to this service.
some people may consider it a big deal that you can now have an app icon available so that you don't have to scroll through the settings to get to the program.

Yeah I forgot about the ring feature. That is a nice feature. I haven't used it much since updating this evening, but I just sure hope the performance is improved. Before it worked about 8 times out of 10. Which is pretty good, but when I send a lot of texts and than a random text doesn't go through, it's kinda annoying.
Motorola Connect still doesn't work for me even with this update.
Oh well
Not anything big but one or two nice touches. Still hit and miss for me regarding the connection between my phone and the app.

to start i don't use this so i am not sure if this is what they mean or not. BUT chrome has an app tray. mine is located on the favorites bar on the far left and it says apps. It is where chrome apps are located. I would presume what they mean is that the app tray in chrome now has a connect icon you can click on to launch it. chrome in the past couple months added this app tray i believe where app icons are located. previously to launch an app that was not running you either had to go to their web page or open up settings and launch it. now there is an app tray. you can also put an app tray icon on your desktop as well as have one sitting in your bottom right corner of windows for easy access to chrome apps. I could be wrong but this is what i would assume they meant.
Well the new update is working flawlessly for me.. Earlier it was not connecting and even if connected, it wont get updated automatically when some new message or call is received.. Now the chrome shows the updates within 5 secs and replying is working too..

I can't figure out how to delete the websites located in the quick access section. Is this even possible?
Make your default homepage to quick access. Then you can change it.
Long press and hold the webpage icon, then it will let you delete.

At least until the Note 5 there was no way of doing it, I don't know if it was added on the latest Samsung browser version but I sincerely doubt it.
The only way I managed something similar was exporting my Chrome Bookmarks to a file then add that file to a folder on the phone and then you must open your File manager (My Files) look for the file and click it, it will open in the browser, once there you save it as a Bookmark. Again, just a workaround, not the solution.

Link to Windows - Phone screen

Hey Everyone,
So I've managed to get my S10+ linked to windows 10 but I don't have the option for phone screen (screen mirroring)
Both phone and laptop are on the same WiFi network, I've tried deleting and re-adding too but still nothing.....
Anyone else have this working?
Thanks!
I am not sure, but I think you have to have a special tool/app to get that to work or maybe even a different firmware. Maybe someone else can chime in on this that knows for sure.

Screen mirror feature works perfectly on my s10+
As for linking to Windows. Did you try Samsung Dex?
See screen from my Windows 10 PC linked to S10+ by USB-C
I didn't have a good experience with the Windows 10 link using Microsoft's app on Pie--my desktop would regularly lose its link with the S10+ and getting sync to work again was sometimes so time consuming I eventually gave up on the whole thing.
On Samsung's current Android Q beta the Microsoft Android app comes pre-installed as a system app with no icon. The controls for linking to a computer are now built into the phone settings and so far it works way better--whenever notifications or messages showing up in Windows 10 seem to be out of date manually refreshing them takes a few seconds.
The screen mirror function which didn't work at all for me on the Play Store version of Microsoft's app (I bought a $10 Bluetooth USB dongle for my desktop) wasn't compatible with my connection but on the version built into Android Q mirroring the phone screen with Windows 10 now works perfectly and no longer seems to require Bluetooth.
I tried the in development function to make and receive phone calls on Windows 10 and didn't care for it and turning it off requires unpairing the S10+ Bluetooth connection with the computer. After unpairing Bluetooth the screen mirror function with Windows 10 still works so it apparently uses the internet connection now.
Since Samsung's Android Q is in beta they might change their minds and remove the built-in Link to Computer functionality but hopefully they won't.
