Samsung Browser - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions & Answer

I can't figure out how to delete the websites located in the quick access section. Is this even possible?

Make your default homepage to quick access. Then you can change it.

Long press and hold the webpage icon, then it will let you delete.

This worked. Long pressing does not let you delete the sites.

Curious; what do you guys use the Samsung Browser over Chrome? I never used the Samsung browser before so just thinking about the benefits.

I actually like it quite a bit, plus it's Chromium based.

The ad blocking plugin makes it way faster than Chrome. I am using it until Brave releases a stand alone browser. I use Link Bubble aka Brave browser for in app links though.

The only wish that I have with Honeycomb web browser is ability to change USER AGENT STRING. That's all I want.
I know, there is that about:debug trick, but it does not stick and we must do it again and again. Even does not work on certain website.
So, Google ... please please please add this!
Don't force me to use Dolphin
Is there anyway to edit the ".apk" and make it permanent change An idea for hacker with root.

My user agent string has never changed back, what are you talking about?
The reason some sites come up mobile is because they match on the word Android instead of mobile. Websites are to blame, not google in this case.
i swear Androidcentral took my blog story!

Create a book mark to about:config on your home screen. All you do is click the shortcut then hit the go button in the URL bar.
I tried with my Nexus S and browse to Facebook.com (full site).
It worked for a while, but then went back to Touch.Facebook.com.
Because of this, I am using Dolphin Mini which has option to browse as desktop browser. Problem solved.

Google Chrome Metro app out now

https://www.google.com/chrome/eula.html?extra=devchannel&platform=win
Its working pretty good and its nice
It's Chrome.
Yes and I think it's very cool and easy!
Chrome is best on every device! So, I think Chrome on Win 8 is gread!
Enjoying it so far!
Im confused...
Im installed it from the link you provided, But I dont see it installed anywhere??
Thanks for the heads up, gonna check it out tonight.
I'm really liking it so far, it feels just like Chrome and not a Chrome "App".
Only thing I don't like is that its not automatically full screen like the IE app. After entering full screen mode other than having to press F11 to bring the address bar back up it would be nice to just scroll to the top of the screen, or right click like the IE app.
Solid app all together.

Same thing happened to me at first. I already had Chrome pinned to the metro start and when I clicked on it opened regular chrome. After closing it and returning to metro the icon changed to the Chrome app.
non responsive after one day
after using it without much problems (apart from a few crashes freshly after installing), today it has just become unresponsive to touches. opened the internet explorer, it too was unresponsive, reboot didn't help. having made IE back to default browser solved the problem.
been using it on the lenovo x220t convertible
works great I have detected any major bugs.
I installed it but no diff? It doesn't seem to be Metro just normal one.
Edit: Worked now, I don't see any major change, just same old same old Chrome in Full Screen mode.
Does it still support extensions, Does it still have Web Store?
Finally,now I can install windows 8 again

It's not worth it, it's just basic Chrome, matter of fact, the scrolling bar looks like Windows 98! It makes sense lol Windows 98...take out the 9 and there you have it.

Lmfao at the take out the 9! Old jokes aside, Chrome for iOS has OSX Lion scrollbar...
After setting Chrome to default and having a play with it in its Metro form, I quickly went back to using it in Desktop Mode. At the moment it's not worth being a Metro app because it just doesn't work properly. You can't dock it to the sides because it goes a bit dodgy. Hopefully they will do it properly with an update and it will be in the store along with Mozilla's Metro version of Firefox at some point if they are still working on that...
Does it work with HTC Shift?
Works great for me so far... Cool!
It still has a couple of bugs to work out.
I'n not a fan of the chrome metro app. They hadn't followed the metro app design guidelines last time I tried it, and it just seemed like a buggy version of normal chrome.
Did anyone notice that we can't upload files? The file selection window is not showing up and I cannot find anything about this in the web.

Personally, I just use Google Chrome. It backs your bookmarks up on Google servers. When you flash a new ROM, just open up Chrome and it automatically signs you in and you don't have to do anything else.
Or just use titanium backup. Works fine with the stock browser too.

I use the samsung account backup......if you go into settings-->accounts-->samsung, go into the backup/restore options ...click on your account there will be options
enable "sync internet bookmarks"
otherwise chrome is a good alternative, although the browser is very buggy IMO
But not all roms have the samsung backup.

On the S4? I'm stock and that app does the same thing as BookmarksSB - nothing.
---------- Post added at 12:55 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:34 PM ----------
....and the long road around - if you're moving to and from stock/ and on the stock browser- go to the bookmarks page in the browser, long press and "share" it to another app to "store" it (ie dropbox).....I use simple notepad and links are actually clickable from within there (when not in edit mode). It's good if you have bookmarks you are trying to save and want them in one place. Obviously not practical with a ton of bookmarks, but if you're in a pinch and can't sync with chrome or samsung- it's an alternative of sorts..

Import Chrome Bookmark to Samsung Internet Browser

Does anyone know how to do above? I've googled it for the past 20 minutes and looked around search button
Not a lot of topic opened for this, I'm probably stupid and missed it since no-one cares? But anyone can tell me?
I don't have the Samsung internet browser included on the VZW model.

If you have a US device I would use CAF Chromium, it's optimized for snapdragon SOCs. Also some versions of it have adblocking.

Rsbrowser is one version of it, there are a bunch of versions floating around to side load right now.

At least until the Note 5 there was no way of doing it, I don't know if it was added on the latest Samsung browser version but I sincerely doubt it.
The only way I managed something similar was exporting my Chrome Bookmarks to a file then add that file to a folder on the phone and then you must open your File manager (My Files) look for the file and click it, it will open in the browser, once there you save it as a Bookmark. Again, just a workaround, not the solution.

Try another sync method?
I used my backup pro and with the bookmarkprovider disabled i was able to sync my bookmarks
no matter how many times I sync it, the chrome bookmarks (that show in the samsung internet extension), do NOT show on the mobile samsung browser (S8+)
tried forced sync, delete data and redo, delete and reinstall extension on my chrome on mac.
Help? I want to use the samsung browser I find it much faster.

Google Developer Site Error - OTA Access Workaround

If you've been to https://developers.google.com/android/ota over the last few days, you might have noticed that the Acknowledge button does nothing and the ota's are inaccessible.
Here is a quick fix that worked for me (found on the Google discussion board) until Google acknowledges this issue:
1. Go to https://developers.google.com/android/ota on Firefox.
2. Open the Web Developer and Inspect Element.
3. Use Inspect Element to select the blue Acknowledge button.
4. On the Web Developer panel, select the Storage tab.
5. Right click on Cookies > https://developers.google.com and select Delete All.
6. Without leaving the page, hit the Refresh button on the browser.
7. The OTA's should now be visible.
Hope this helps!
Or if on Windows just use Internet Explorer, it works fine.

IE should still be there. Just click on the start button and begin typing: Internet Explorer
I'm on the latest version of Windows 10.

Easiest way
open page in incognito mode in chrome or whatever you like. Boom... its there
Though incognito works for some, it didn't work for me. I tried private mode on Chrome, Firefox, IE, and Edge to no avail.
The only fix for me was the one I posted.
Not sure why it seems to work differently for some.

ROFL...wow, really?? No it isn't, IE 11 is alive and well...who uses Edge??? I run 4 different browsers, they are all garbage in their own way.
Today it is IE 11, works fine on the Google site for downloading.

Yes it's there. Much better than Edge IMO. BUT today the Google site is working on both Chrome and Firefox with no special manipulation.
Google has seemed to have fixed the issue. Loading fine on W10 and Chrome now.
Yep, Chrome working... finally!
