S6 Edge Plus Error Loading Stock Rom - Galaxy S6 Edge+ Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi peoples,
I sold my S6 Edge Plus (SM-G928i) phone on eBay. The buyer claimed it was faulty and sent it back.
When I got it back, he had factory reset it, but he had left his Google account on the phone, as well as turned on FRP lock.
I tried to flash it back to the stock Rom, I get this error:
An error has occurred while updating the device software use the emergency recovery in Smart Switch.
I then run Smart Switch and it asks me for a recovery code.
Is there a way I can fix this, or has the eBayer bricked my phone?
Thanks heaps
Dazza

I would assume there is a block on software altering while FRP lock is tripped. Maybe you could flash TWRP, wipe everything, and *maybe* that would work, but you would end up with tripped knox if it wasn't already tripped.

Custom Binary blocked by FRP Lock?

Can someone please advise what causes this FRP lock?
Heres what happened.
I have a S6 Edge+
I bought a new S6 Edge+ dual sim
I took the sim out of my old phone and setup the new phone
After setting it all up I switched off my old phone
When I switched it back on, it came up with this error and turns itself off straight away
On the old phone I NEVER rooted or flashed any roms (custom or official)
Would enabling OEM unlock avoid this?
The phone is with Samsung now and their repairers want to charge me half the cost of the phone to replace the main PBA because they say the warranty is void!
Don't do it its a rip off I've just restored my Galaxy S6 edge plus after trying to root it with little success as the root programs aren't very stable at this point. Any ways my phone got bricked in "Custom Binary block by FRIDAY Lock" mode straight out of the box and I did some research and discovered that flashing the Original firmware via Odin restored it to perfect working order with the exception of Knox switch ed on and the Samsung pay app rendered non functional. You can download the firmware at Sammobile.com for free or faster download pay there cheapest subscription, which is what I did.
I have escalated it to the Samsung managers to try and get the fee waived.
If they wont then Ill just take the phone back and see if I can flash the right rom.
What I dont understand is why it locked in the first place.....I have never flashed any custom roms or rooted that phone.

What did you do to cause this though? Did you root or flash custom rom?
I also had this issue. I rooted my device successfully but afterwards I turned off oem unlock and rebooted my phone. This resulted in the frp lock issue. Flashing the stock firmware via odin got rid of it.

Galaxy On5 sm-s550t stuck at frp

So I've searched around the past few hours and can't seem to find a solution to my issue. I have a friend that is currently down on his luck and staying at a homeless shelter, he bought this phone because phones are pretty much a necessity nowadays, samsung galaxy on5, trouble is that the phone was locked when he turned it on so he was stuck with a paperweight, it's been a long time since I tinkered with phones but I figured I could help him out by booting into recovery and doing a factory reset. I had no idea about samsung factory reset protection and now were back to paperweight mode. I downloaded jodin3 and heimdall, but it never shows as connected. Can I root the phone while in recovery or load the factory rom so I can get the phone working again? Thanks for any help.
No, the only options are either ordering a remote unlocking service or find a guide on YouTube. The YouTube way will involve some patience and trial and error. Many guides don't specify what update on the phone they are working on and/or will state that their particular method works for EVERY phone. The stock recovery will tell you what update that it is on by the build number. This might help pinpoint which method to work.
FRP = Google Factory Reset Protection
Samsung Reactivation Lock is a different beast.
Which one does the phone have?

Brick Phone Challenge // dm-verity error... failed code : 0x02

Hello guys,
I bought a soft bricked S7 Edge with a dm-verity error because I thought I could easily fix the issue myself. The previous owner said he went to update the samsung software via android and this happened. But it doesn't seem too easy to fix. I've tried a bunch of different solutions I found on the interwebs but none have worked so far. I would appreciate some help because I don't seem to be making any progress.
EDIT: I've read that some people have reported losing their IMEI after an OTA update. Maybe that is what happened?
NOTE: I do NOT get the "failed to mount /efs" error
When I got the phone, it would boot directly into Android Recovery with a dm-verity error on the bottom. So here is what I tried:
1 . First I did the obvious, facotry reset and wipe partition. No change.
2. Downloaded the firmware with SamFirm (SM-G935F Regin ZTO) and flashed with Odin. It then booted into a screen with a hazard sign and a DRK error. Then returned to Android Recovery. Observation: When I extracted the firmware, I got a strange corrupted error. I downloaded it again, same corruption error. Is that normal? Also, I am not certain the region is ZTO, maybe this phone is from some other region. Does it matter?
3. I flashed the same firmware again. This time the phone booted up to a Samsung error that said to use SmartSwitch's Emergency recovery. I tried but it asks for a recovery code and I don't have one.
4. I tried to flash CF-autoroot but it gave an error in Odin and failed. EDIT: failed because "Blocked by FRP Lock" but I can't unlock the OEM like everyone else because I can't boot normally into android. Any workaround?
5. I downloaded firmware from a different region (UK). I got a DRK error and it booted into Android recovery. The bottom of the phone reads:
No Support SINGLE-SKUSupported API: 3dm-verity error...failed code : 0x02
6. I flashed the combination file and was able to boot into Factory Binary. I went into Settings to unlock OEM but there isn't that option in the Developer Settings!
That's where I am now. Any ideas?
Thanks!

On the back of the phone, its has the model number written like this SM-G935F SAMSUNG YATELEY GU46 6GG UK. Is there someway for this to be wrong?

Samsung Yateley is Samsung's official UK QA facility, they only receive official products direct from the factories and those sent back for repair and refurbishment. I know this because it's literally just down the road from my house and a couple of friends have worked there over the years.
However, "SAMSUNG YATELEY GU46 6GG UK" has been on literally millions of devices worldwide for years.
It's not a reliable Indication of a genuine product or in fact an indication of anything other than the fact that Samsung have a facility in Yateley.
If the device is a refurb or even a fake it's entirely possible that it only says "SM-G935F SAMSUNG YATELEY GU46 6GG UK" because that's what it's supposed to say.
I'm sorry that I can't be of any more help but, I hope I've helped by stopping you from embarking on a wild goose chase.

I flashed the combination software and in the Factory Binary, it says MODEL: SM-G935F [SS]. Is the information reliable? Is there a possibility that the phone is fake? If so, is there a way to tell for sure?
EDIT: I checked the IMEI I got from the Factory Binary at IMEI.info and it seems to be valid.

Try to use z3x box i read some function of z3x box but i'm not sure if it will fix your phone. Just go to gsm-forum for more details.
I thought this error message you're getting is because you flashed something on your phone intended for another model. I got the same error when I first got my S7 Edge because I stupidly thought I had the snapdragon variant when in fact the G935F is the Exynos variant. I got exactly the same error message. Have you tried reflashing stock firmware via Odin? Have you checked the Knox trip counter to see if the phone had been tampered with prior to you buying it? I live a stone's throw away from Yateley (5 mins maximum) if you want me to pop in and enquire?

Sorry for the delayed response. I left my phone with some technicians with a ZX3 and Octopus Box and they were unable to fix the phone. But they didn't seem very interested either so maybe they just blew me off. Not sure. I'll try to find someone else soon.

This may be the problem. I have tried flashing the stock firmware with Odin but maybe I'm flashing the snapdragon variant instead of the exynos. How can I tell the difference?
My warranty is 1 (0x0500). That means that Knox was tripped right?

I've tried this guide and it didn't solve the issue.
I tried flashing a Snapdragon firmware and it failed. So I assume a Exynos firmware is the correct one.

G935F is exynos yes
Have you tried OEM unlock via adb if possible?
Then flash twrp and https://build.nethunter.com/android-tools/no-verity-opt-encrypt/no-verity-opt-encrypt-5.0.zip ?
Sorry if it's not possible just brainstorming ..

No, I haven't tried that yet. How do I access the S7 via adb again? Is it in download mode or in the recovery? Samsungs don't have "fastboot" right?
I'm in the exact same situation, it's FRP locked to me but I can't get passed the DM-Verity to unlock nor root to pass DM-Verity. Hard to believe this could be bricked from a software issue.

Did you ever find a solution?
Hey, I was able to unbrick the phone. But I had to take it to a technician that used a very interesting technique to reset the phone. Apparently, someone had tried to flash another IMEI on the phone. To reset the device, he switched out one of the memories (there are 3 or 4 slots). Then when you boot up the phone, it is tricked into thinking you are booting up for the first time. At leas that is what I understood. Maybe someone more familiar with phone hardware could explain the solution better.

I Also Have this problem with Samsung SM-G935F
I Solved This Problem With Small Trick
1. Flash Phone With Official Firmware
2. Flash Twrp Recovery
3. Wipe All Data Leave System
4. Reboot
Now I got My device back Alive
You Can Try May Be Its Works For You
I tried the same and my fone booted but its very unstable with crashing apps and random restarts...
With smart switch it ends into dm varity verification hash tree error or dm-varity error

I'm in panic, please help. (dm-verity verification failed)

Hey, I really need help with my S8 with android 8.0. I had these random restarts on my phone and I thought I'd try factory reset. I backed up all my data using smart switch and did the factory reset and wiped all cache partition. Now I'm getting this dm-verity verification failed error. I found online how to fix it, but it says that my warranty will be voided. I've been using my phone for 6 months now and I've never rooted or installed custom ROMs. So what can I do to fix my phone asap?
So sorry for bad English.

Best thing to do would be to repair firmware via smart switch
http://www.blogtechtips.com/2017/06/24/easily-restore-samsung-device-firmware-with-smart-switch/
If that doesn't work then you'll need to use an application called Odin to flash the firmware for your phone, if you've not used Odin before then I suggest you try the above 1st

Same with my brother's S8+, DM Verity error cannot be solved without tripping Knox/warranty.
The only way you can have ur phone be fixed is via hardware replacement.
My brother's fone was fixed by samsung repair center and got his phone working again.

Samsung S8-SM-G950F custom binary blocked by FRP lock

Samsung S8-SM-G950F custom binary blocked by FRP locked, i saw so many theards about this and i read them, and i still don't know what to do, so my question is if i download firmware with "SamFirm" and then use oddin will i get my phone unlocked from that ? As i had custom rom for year and half and today i got that error for the 1st time , also if the "SamFirm" is not good for that can someone give me link for firmware for my phone as updato and all other sites download soo slow at 15 kb/s and i can't use them it will take 20hours to download that (
Similar situation, I broke my S8 screen, so never got it fixed, and was recently without a laptop, so thought id use the S8 thru Dex, it all worked no probs, however, I used to unlock bootloaders to install custom firmware and os's but didnt think id done it on my S8 as it was still under warranty, so upon looking in the developer options, i saw that OEM Unlock was on, so i switched it off, not remembering rooting the phone, now i get same error it bootloops and says custom binary frp lock. Did u ever get yours sorted? I know my google account to login 2 it if i ever get the official rom back working, but trying odin and smartswitch restore im still stuck, just keeps failing, saying frp lock. Cant even get into recovefry mode to factory reset, didnt thiunk i had TWRP installed on it, but i must have. Anyway, if anyone can pls help me pls contact me here or at dcillusionz at proton dot me. Thanks.
PS - I tried downloading from SamFW and using Odin, but FAILED. Hoping u had some luck?
