How old is the malaysian SIM? It could be the wrong voltage - you may need to get the malaysian phone company to issue a new one.

Yeah, the older SIM's sometimes don't work with these new phones. Get them to issue a new one. They should do it for free, too.
Kevin
will ask for one. thanks kevin.
I have the exact same problem at the moment,
but with fixed dial sim cards.
Ive given o2 two weeks to resolve the problem or we will probably be getting our devices elsewhere. Something to do with the way the sim card is programed
oh, let me know if u have overcome this. thanks

Huawei Mate 9 Pro Dual SIM

Hi,
I am looking for a good quality Dual SIM mobile so I would like to ask you about couple of thinks:
1. Does the Second SIM can work with 3G instead like P9 Plus only 2G only? I know data can be only from one SIM but calls from two. Here in AU there is no 2G
2. Does it worth to buy it?
Regards
On a recent trip to Taipei, my AT&T global roaming SIM was my primary (4G on Chunghwa network) while my China Mobile SIM was secondary/phone only (3G on 大哥大 network). So, I believe the phone only secondary SIM is capable of more than just 2G.
However, this looks to be network dependant as when in China and the AT&T SIM is my main driver, the China Telecom SIM stays on 2G.
Thanks for info. I have confirmation from dealer that SIM2 can work on 2G/3G but I am confused because in user manual there is information that second SIM can work only on 2G'.
Can someone confirm it in practice?
Regards
Second SIM should support 3g no issues, see attached screenshot
Is the phone full active or stand by ..
very happy with my mate9 pro - dual sim. LON-L29C636 working great on AT&T in the USA. Only one sim (you can select between SIM1 and SIM2) is for data. I was in the middle east and asia the last few weeks and dual sims worked great (I have AT&T and Singapore (Starhub) SIM's in my phone). This was my note 7 replacement and I've been very happy with it. Amazing battery life and supercharging is fast (but you have to use their dedicated charger/cable or you just get regular charge speeds). i bought mine off ebay (it's a UAE model) and had no problems.
quick question
I am looking to get the mate 9 pro
Are any of you on Tmobile in the USA, and, do you get 4G/LTE?
The reseller I have been emailing with on Amazon says you do NOT get 4GLTE on Tmobile in the USA with this phone, but I have read that you do.
Thanks if you can help with this! :good::good:

VoLTE settings & low brightness

Hi Fellas, i got a U Ultra but it doesnt show any setting to enable VoLTE. While as per the specs it supports both VoLTE & VoWifi. Exact model on the box is HTC U Ultra U-1u. Also brightness seems to be dim..
Any idea for both?
I am able to receive volte calls but cannot make volte calls ... And don't see any settings either

the U Ultra does support LTE, but, as with the case with many Android phones, the setting to enable VoLTE is dependent on the carrier and the software version you have.
Example, My U-1u is from taiwan. When I was in taiwan a few weeks ago, I had VoLTE on the local carrier. I live in Australia, where my carrier also sells the Ultra (U-1h) and supports VoLTE on it. but my phone does not give me the option.
I will be looking to modify the software to enable down the track. You may need to do the same in order to enable.
Android OEMs should look to deploy carrier settings such as this independently of software version

Yes i agree. I have not seen much cellular operators having HTC devices on VoLTE.. I think they are lagging a lot now.. For me probably the last HTC device after being their loyal customer for last 9 years
Hey are you able to make VOLTE calls? I also bought the phone on Sunday, and have been trying to make calls, but no luck. I can receive them, but not make them which is so odd.
Did you find a solution yet?

VoLTE Support

When and if Moto G5 Plus will support VoLTE for Airtel India and Vodafone India. I see lower end companies like Techno, LeEco, Redmi supporting Airtel VoLTE. Moto G5 in India supports Jio VoLTE without any application. Not sure if it will support Vodafone, Airtel or Idea VoLTE and when will it be if yes. VoLTE is going to become common in year 2018 and having bought Moto G5 less than one year ago, if it does not support operator specific VoLTE it will be very sad.

Send SMS "4G CHECK" to 199 from your device( and vodafone sim in case of dual sim)
I did the same from moto g5 plus (aosp extended rom) and got response like "Your Mobile Handset supports 4G, but will not support VoLTE. Kindly upgrade your handset to experience Vodafone VoLTE."
Done that already. Vodafone has to provide firmware which handset manufacturer need to customize if required and push it. Not sure with whom it is pending Motorola or Vodafone. Moto E4 got update for Airtel VoLTE. Since then everything is in Cold storage.

I am almost positive you won't be able to get those features with a U1 (US Model) device. eSIM hasn't been enabled by Samsung as of yet on those models, and I don't believe there is a call recorder built into the US firmware.
You're not going to be able to change the CSC to anything other than the US CSCs. Samsung does not sell the U/U1 variants outside of the US, so they don't include international CSCs. The device also cannot be rooted or bootloader unlocked.

Before this pandemic, I was in India multiple times with my S10+ that was the US U1 variant, i had Vodafone and Jio and upon swapping sims between the two as well as a reboot, VoLTE and WIfi Calling (wifi calling only worked on Jio, didn't work on Vodafone) worked perfectly fine.
I'm sure your carrier specific features will work for the S20 Ultra U1 model aside from call recording as that isn't included on snapdragon samsung devices.
P.S. - I was on the XAA CSC while in India too

Thanks. I was using the horrid exynos , with great difficulty I got the Snapdragon Ultra .. now missing these 2 features .
Will I be able to flash any other Snapdragon Ultra firmware ? G9880 G988W etc etc
My wish list for S20 Ultra software update from samsung
1 . Enable 120Hz QHD+
2. Enable eSim
3. Enable Native call recording.

Unfortunately I don't think the U1 US version has e-Sim, even though it says it supports it on their site, I only had 1 IMEI listed on the box and in settings. Unless Samsung has some future update that enables it, I don't think unlocked US versions will get it.
Hi, all
I was planning to go for the Note20 ultra, but looking at the exynos processor, I am a bit skeptical.
I was planning to get a US version, but a bit worried about whether the Indian networks will support the phone.
Apart from the dual sim, is there anything that might not work with the US version of the phone in India, like Samsung pay, gpay etc?
