VoLTE settings & low brightness - HTC U Ultra Questions & Answers

Hi Fellas, i got a U Ultra but it doesnt show any setting to enable VoLTE. While as per the specs it supports both VoLTE & VoWifi. Exact model on the box is HTC U Ultra U-1u. Also brightness seems to be dim..
Any idea for both?

I am able to receive volte calls but cannot make volte calls ... And don't see any settings either

the U Ultra does support LTE, but, as with the case with many Android phones, the setting to enable VoLTE is dependent on the carrier and the software version you have.
Example, My U-1u is from taiwan. When I was in taiwan a few weeks ago, I had VoLTE on the local carrier. I live in Australia, where my carrier also sells the Ultra (U-1h) and supports VoLTE on it. but my phone does not give me the option.
I will be looking to modify the software to enable down the track. You may need to do the same in order to enable.
Android OEMs should look to deploy carrier settings such as this independently of software version

Yes i agree. I have not seen much cellular operators having HTC devices on VoLTE.. I think they are lagging a lot now.. For me probably the last HTC device after being their loyal customer for last 9 years

Hey are you able to make VOLTE calls? I also bought the phone on Sunday, and have been trying to make calls, but no luck. I can receive them, but not make them which is so odd.
Did you find a solution yet?

If you open the phone dialer application and then click the more option in the top right corner and click settings you should have a option for wifi calling if you scroll right to the bottom of the page this is where you will find the wifi calling option.
Hi,
First place I looked and it is not there, spoke to Vodafone and Samsung, but, to no avail.
Thanks for information though.

I'm not sure then I've been reading that Vodafone isn't adding wifi calling to BTU phones they only add wifi calling feature to their own phones which have their firmware. I purchased my s7 edge sim free off contract so it is fully unlocked and has the BTU firmware and when I put my EE sim only contract in the wifi calling feature showed up in the place I directed you to. It probably is just that Vodafone hasn't pushed the wifi calling feature to phones that aren't from them.

You can't do it without root. I am with Vodafone UK and on the BTU firmware and I don't see the WiFi calling option, but changing the CSC to VOD will bring back that option. Some features are controlled by CSC so you won't see them on a different firmware.

putting an EE sim in should make it work and bring the WiFi calling option up but i think it might have to be a pay monthly sim because EE don't support WiFi calling for pay as you go plans.

TMobile

Curious.... What are people going to do if they get the phone on TMobile and it has no volte? Essential won't tell us so who knows
I thought this was already stated that it would work with all carriers including Tmobile
Yes but that doesn't mean it will support volte, HD or evs
I’m pretty sure it was asked directly if the phone would work with those features and they said if the service supports it then it will work as intended. The only questionable thing was some sprint uses which I forget what it was.
well, my Mi Note 2 supports VoLTE so I have no reason to think that this device will not work accordingly.

For wi-fi calling I just went to an area with wi-fi but no cell signal and confirmed I was able to make a call with it turned on. For VoLTE I just checked that the data didn't drop to 3G or EDGE when I made a call. And for HD Voice I just called another T-Mobile phone and it'll say "HD" next to the call timer if it's an HD Voice call.
Wifi calling turned on today on my phone after not working the past 3 days.

One plus 8 pro dual sim solution?

Hello, just received my new 8pro but it is still not supporting dual sim. It's already September and I think it's ridiculous. Customer service is saying the same crap that it will be available it the next update.
Did anyone found solutions to fix the problem? Is there some kind of rom you can install to enable it?
Also Galaxy note 20 ultra is available in dual sim supposedly. The ATT version is locked as well. I don't understand why. I would go for ATT because they give up to $1000 off for trade in but again I really need that dual sim capability. It seems to me that both phones can be rooted and the issue will be fixed? Can anyone confirm that?
Any help will be appreciated.
It can be done with box and software modification, as all 8 Pro's share same hardware and modem/sim slot.
If you don't have any tool for unlocking/repair - just bring to local mobile phone repair shop.

I had no issues taking the Sim out of my pixel 2 when I went to the Oneplus 7 pro. Then from the 7 pro to the 8 pro I had no issues either. Used the same SIM.
Open Beta has also recently came out today and isn't filled with bugs so I would recommend going that route.

How about if you're just on 4G? Turn off 5G. When I'm on a call using 4G LTE and surf web it stays on LTE and doesn't drop.down to say 4G or in the uk it'll probably be 2G or 3G if I was originally on 4G.

Yes with EU/UK Firmware and the same chipset this should be the same 3,4 & 5G on offer in theory

As long as the radios are the same then you should be good to go. I haven't cross referenced the two models .

Mines the same and I note your phone doesn't show the Volte icon as being active either, I don't think we've got it on because my Oneplus 7 Pro would show it

Comical. Mines the other way around. Shows volte in status bar for both sims but that menu shows volte off. However disabling one sim then shows those options volte enabled via that menu posted. Rather confusing so to speak. However in practice volte is working.
Edit worked it out. For me, if I select voice call as "ask .." then those sliders in the 4636 menu are off.
