Dual SIM Troubleshooting - Xiaomi Mi A1 Questions & Answers

Hey guys, I'm having problems with the dual SIM setup on my A1. As soon as I select Airtel as the default sim for data the network on my Jio sim disappears. Is this normal? HELP!

Jio works on 4G only . 4G network only works when sim is primary. So you make airtel as primary sim and Jio dont get 4G and that's normal.
So you need to keep Jio as primary data selection to have it working

So is this normal for all 4G phones?

please help me out
sorry for my english!
Jio is not fully supported on this phone, partly due to missing VoLTE support in firmware and partly because of how Jio doesn't support GSM/2G which is the standby mode for the secondary SIM as the phone doesn't support dual 4G mode. In other words, if first SIM is in 4G mode, second is forced to 2G, and this of course causes problems for Jio SIM.

That's expected because JIO is a 4G only Mobile service.
Any Dual SIM device can have High Speed Network on any 1 of the 2 SIM slots and the other one will always remain on 2G. So whenever you are enabling 4G on Idea's SIM Slot, JIO's SIM Slot is being changed to 2G only and JIO can't receive a Signal in 2G mode. I am not sure but I have heard that in few Cities in South India JIO has partnered with BSNL to use it's(BSNL) network on 2G mode but I don't see how it's gonna work or even if it's true or just a rumer.
So, if you want to use JIO you need to have 4G enabled in it's SIM slot and make another one 2G.
Hope I was able to make your confusion clear. Feel free to ask back if you have any more questions.

network issue with jio 4g

Hi,
I have a Jio Volte 4g sim in slot 1 and a Airtel 4g sim in slot 2. When data is enabled for sim1 both sim works fine. But if i enable data for sim 2. jio sim, it gets disabled. Is it a known issue? Can someone suggest a way to get over it?

Its not an issue. At any point of time you can use 4G for one sim only in g4 plus. Airtel has both 3g and 4g network but Jio is having only 4G network. so when you switch Airtel to 4G, Jio sim automatically getting switched to 3G which do not exist for Jio, thus there is no network for Jio and it gets disable.

Simultaneous 4G support on both sims?

Does this phone support 4G on both sims simultaneously like HONOR 10?
Yes, it supports simultaneous dual VoLTE.
Does this mean, if i have a volte enabled sim(jio) in sim slot 2, and non-volte sim(airtel) in sim slot 1, and i have data enabled on sim slot 1(airtel), then the sim in sim slot 2 DOES NOT go out of service, and i CAN make calls from it..
The reason i ask this is because, in other smartphones like Mi A1/RN3 , when i have the same above scenario,
the sim in sim slot 2 DOES go out of service, and i CAN'T EVEN make calls from it.

This phone support TRUE Dual Volte unlike other phones. So yes you can set data inn Airtel and use Jio in second sim simultaneously. You can even use Dual Jio SIM in this phone.

Sir, I am using the Zenfone Max Pro M1, the dual VOLTE is not working, when I am using one SIM for the call the other SIM is going offline, in other words when I am on phone call the Mobile data connection is getting disconnected on the other SIM. Does anyone experiencing the similar issue?

Facing same issue, Asked customer support executive for the same and according to them this is bug and we need to go asus service and ask them to resolve this.
Scenario: Airtel/Cellone on SIM1 and Jio on SIM2
1) Data is set to SIM1 and Jio calling works fine. However, data is 2.5G/3G (SIM Card limitation) hence not sure about dual VOLTE 4G.
2) Data is set to SIM2 (Jio) and working fine. However, as soon as I receive a call on SIM1, mobile internet connectivity is disrupted and I cannot use mobile data while on call. Note that the mobile data itself does not show disconnected (the x mark). The only way to use data during call is wifi.
3) Data is set to SIM2 (Jio) and works fine during call if the call is received on SIM2.
I've had no issues with jio and Vodafone dual volte.
Airtel has no LTE coverage in my zone

I read this on asus website .So , we cant say that it is dual 4g volte.
" Both SIM card slots support 4G LTE network band. But only one SIM card can connect to 4G LTE service at a time."

Using bsnl sim(2g/3g) for data while keeping jio on 4g

I have 2 sim. One is jio and other bsnl.
I want to use bsnl as default for data. When i am changing bsnl to data then mine jio sim network is gone because this setting changes network mode also. So it tries to have bsnl on 4g(not available) and jio on 2g(not available).
I read previous thread and found dual 4g is not supported in redmi 3s prime.
I dont want dual support, i just want my 2g sim to use data and jio sim for receiving call.
I am on lineage 14.1 official.
Kindly provide solution.
Just an update.
One of the developer told me that it can't be done on land. As jio is internet based network which won't work if we choose bsnl as default for network.
So it can't be done.. ?
