Just search around the forums, they have a few guides. I would suggest looking at the att and Verizon forums for the s7 edge. The roms are interchangeable

My phone is G935T and I flashed G935U.
There is no auto upgrade, so it is a bit tedious every time there is new firmware out, manually has to flash, but otherwise it is VERY lean on included applications and also IMHO is lighter on battery usage.
That said, just get the ODIN and both firmwares (G935T firmware as well as G935U firmware).
Then, use ODIN to flash the CP file from G935T firmware and rest of the files from G935U firmware.
Enjoy.

Did you flash the U firmware with CP file from T like I did? (Which is preferred since I am still using the phone on T-mobile network)
Whenever I press "check for update", I always get "you have latest" message even when I KNOW there is new one out there.
Perhaps if ALL firmware files are from "U" firmware, maybe it will do auto update (or prompt you for update).

In order to update, you must have all files from the same update. So running the tmobile radio is why it won't update you.

I can confirm this does work. I just installed the 935U software on my tmobile s7 edge and am now using the phone on Page Plus service. Everything is working great for over 24 hours now.

Hello,
I would like to update my S7 edge G935T to G935U.
THE ONLY PROBLEM is that it is the only phone I have and that I use so I am afraid of blocking it by making its so is it 100% safe to do so? AND can I have a guide?

yeah its safe until you do it properly.
Use Odin Latest version.
Turn Phone into download mode.
connect to pc using Odin.
Add required files into Odin and hit start. Thats it.
i just updated my T mobile G935T to G935U now and its working fine.
here is download link for firmware.

can you share the download link.
I found a list of firmwares here https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-s7-edge/firmware/#SM-G935U
Not sure which one is the right one

Just Flashed Latest G935U firmware on my G935T.
Got rid of that Tmobile logo and bloatwares. Everything is working awesome. Faster than ever.
Steps I followed:
Downloaded Latest G935U firmware from Samfrew with TMO CSC.
Flashed AP, CP, CSC (not BL).
Device rebooted and performed a factory reset. Set CSC according to my simcard and finally booted in no time.
All of these took around 15 minutes.
PS
My device was on latest G935T firmware before.
Its carrier unlocked.

Help debloating my SM-G900W8

Hi, everyone. I just registered here for help with a question that I have about my SM-G900W8. Someone had mentioned there was a remote chance that I might get help from this web site for a Canadian model given that help for the model is rarely ever discussed any place else.
Firstly, it is a Canadian model as everyone likely knows. Thing is I don't live in Canada. I live in the United States. I had ordered an ulocked G900T but received an unlocked G900W8 instead. But it's okay. I like the G900W8. There is no carier logo at bootup or any of that stuff and it works really well for me. I use it on Tracfone since I don't really use a phone all of the time. I just buy some minutes and I'm good for a while. and LTE works well. I'm getting 40 or so mb download speeds when on data.
Anyway. It has never been rooted and it is unlocked.
What I want to do, though, is get rid of all of the Fido stuff that is on it. My Fido account, City Video, Fido Apps and whatnot.
I DON'T want to root it. But I want to get rid of all of that bloat. It's just annoying that it is there and I don't live in Canada and will never use any of those things. I don't have a Fido account nor will I ever. But I'm stuck with this stuff regardless.
I don't know anything about installing stock ROM but I've read that stock ROMs exist for this model.
So, my question is 3 fold. If there exists a stock ROM without all of that Fido stuff that I'll never use that works on it, can I flash it onto my device (which I need to learn how to do), and if I do that will it still receive regular manufacturer and operating system updates? I don't even know if it will receive updates anyway given that I'm in the United States and the phone has a Canadian CSC code. As it is, it is 5.1.1 now. It came that way.
Device: Samsung Galaxy S5
Model number: SM-G900W8
Android version: 5.1.1 (Lollipop OS)
Baseband version G900W8VLU1COI4
Kernel version: 3.4.0-5793883
Build number: LMY47X.G900W8VLU1COI4
Build date: September 11,2015
Release date: October 14,2015
Also, will flashing relock my phone? I don't want to relock it.
I just want to get rid of the bloat that I'll never use. I couldn't use it even if I wanted. I also don't want to relock it and I want it to be able to receive regular updates.
I'm willing to learn what I can to accomplish it if it is possible.
Thanks for any help.
Have a look on sammobile. com firmware section, search for G900W8
See if there is an unbranded (Carrier free) ROM, for example, for my G900F, the 'BTU' United Kingdom ROM is unbranded
You will receive OTA updates as normal, and it should not affect the SIM lock status
You flash the ROM using ODIN, the instructions on how to flash, and download for ODIN are under the download on sammobiles site
You need a free account to download
Or, a faster method, find out the code for the ROM you want, and use this tool to download it

Thank you for feedback. I did actually look at Samsmobile for this device but I couldn't determine which was unbranded and which was not. There were also some that were simply labeled as "unknown". I was afraid I'd download the wrong thing.
I did see that other thread with regard to the tool that was created prior to asking my question here. Thank yo ufor sharing that. Thing is that the op has 4 zip files with no instructions about which zip is which or what they are individually or if I have to download a specific one or all of them. For someone like me with no experience with this kind of thing, I'm literally guessing at what the tool creator is telling me to do with his zip files. I have no idea what the difference is between the 4 zip files.
I'm glad to know that in attempting it that it won't lock my phone again or impede updates OTA. Thanks for verifying that.
I'll reserve time to read and learn how to flash firmware/ROM in the meantime, though. Thank for the link that will explain it to me.
The highest numbered zip is the latest version
0.3.4
As long as you flash a ROM for your model S5 (G900W8) you shouldn't run into any problems regardless of which carrier it is from (Just different bloat really)
If you can't find an unbranded ROM, the only other method is to root, or flash custom recovery and flash a debloat script
There will be certain carrier apps that you can freeze without root I would imagine, by going to settings > application manager, and "Disable" the ones that let you
Understood. Thank You.
I'm going to first learn how to flash firmware. Once I'm comfortable that I can do it without messing things up, I'll use the tool that was provided and shared by the author and report back.

I have a at&t s5 that can not be rooted unfortunately, I searched around and found this debloater tool which did exactly what I (and you) wanted. It cant really delete any of the bloatware (because no supersu), but rather disables it from even showing up. It mad a HUGE difference for me and makes not having a root pretty livable. Anyway here's a link to the tool.

Sm-g935u for t-mobile

Hi
Has anyone tired SM-G935U for T-Mobile does wifi calling works, and video calling.
I gave it a go yesterday. I would not recommend it. It seems like it is causing issues, if you follow the thread on it. Also if you are on the July 1st security patch (the update that came out on 07/08/2016) then trying to flash the G935U firmware will softbrick your device. Either way the best way to get back to stock is to use Smart Switch and re-initialize the phone. You will lose all of your internal data either way.

Didn't try with the latest FW, but when I tried installing before I constantly softbricked my phone.

SM-G935T is on v3 while SM-G935u is on v2 which is causing the softbrick .
Have anyone tried this recently? as of October 1st? Reports on the AT&T forum seem to suggest that it's working now.
where is the link at for the new G935U UPDATE FOR TMO
this is encouraging please keep us informed of any progress
I have the SM-G935U Olympic edition running on T-Mobile with the latest firmware PG9, Aug. 1st patch and I can see LTE+ every now and then. I do also see the option for WIFI-Calling and VOLTE. I can not verify if they worked properly but the options are there. Im not rooted because I still want Samsung Pay for now. ROM seems fast and good battery life and no T-Mobile BLOAT I was able to uninstall (yes uninstalled not disable) even the samsung email app and samsung+.

It looks like the bootloader for the Unbranded version has increased. This should allow us to switch from T-mobile to U since they are now both at 4.
If you follow the release of older firmware it coincides with new bootloader revisions. If so then the AT&T, T-mobile and Unbranded version are all now at bootloader 4 which allows us to flash any one of them.
For example, if you look at the history of firmware releases for the T-mobile variant, you'll note the number has changed when the bootloader has been updated.

I have tried multiple zips to try to get the U software on my phone but always ends up not booting. It will show galaxy S7 and then boot straight back into recovery.
Can someone please provide a link to the exact download files I need. Sorry to start a thread over this. I'm just having a hard time finding the correct files. Thanks in advanced.
Anyone?
It should be as (simple) as..
Rooting your phone -> https://forum.xda-developers.com/ve...-to-notes-root-install-xposed-unroot-t3411039 (this won't trip KNOX)
Downloading the proper firmware from SamMobile -> https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-G930U/
Flash the firmware via odin (you can use the same method found here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/how-to/official-stock-firmware-update-odin-t3335065)
Profit
I just did this recently to switch from SM-G930R4 to SM-G930V
Note, you will lose all data on the phone if you try this.

Go to Updato.com and get the newest SM-930U firmware from January and flash via Odin. The 930U firmware you flash must have a bootloader the as or newer than your current firmware or it will not boot. You do not have to root to update via Odin.

Less boat , no Verizon boot animation, and my favorite the spam dialer Verizon thought was a good idea to remove. I like to think of the U as pure Samsung vs the Verizon gimped software.

Bootloader is locked because it is a snapdragon variant. Only downside is can think is you would have to pay your bill in store or on a PC. Lte seems the same. Yes if nougat is on. You just load up the most recent U firmware and flash over nougat in odin.

it shoudl be simple...but it failed for me in one of my two phones. now it keeps going to recovery (downloading the original firmware to reflash it). the one that worked was a SMG930VZDA (made in vietnam) while the one that didn't is a SMG930VZKA (made in korea). I hadn't updated either one from the original firmware, but not sure what firmware they came with....
so if it works, it's great, but if it fails...

You can still use the My Verizon app to pay, if you want to. You do lose Verizon's native VVM app, but there are workarounds to use Voice or another third-party VVM app (I personally use YouMail).

Hey your right! One less hassle.
Hi everyone,
I recently purchased a new g930r4 (US Cellular) because my last samsung got stolen. Anyway, the first time I turned on the phone, I started having multiple issues (kept rebooting, unable to recognize headset, kept freezing). Then I decided to change it to the g930U firmware and I noticed a HUGE difference. I totally recommend this to anybody that has same problems I mentioned. Thanks to all the information from this post, I was able to successfully flash the firmware. Thank you all for the support! I hope this helps someone out there whos still got some doubts.
Hello, I have the SM-G930V Snapdragon variant in the US and I would really like to root it to get a custom ROM. If you wouldn't mind, I'd appreciate a reply (if you have one) to this thread I made on the topic: https://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s7/help/questions-bootloader-rooting-custom-t3721109

Factory Binary - Successful downgrade from MM to LP

I stumbled across this file on the net and thought I would give it a spin.
I was on Firmware N910VVRU2CPF3 dated June 2016
I flashed the "Combination file" using Odin 3.10.7
COMBINATION_VZW_FA44_N910VVRU2APB1_VZW2APB1_2932719_REV00_user_mid_noship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
I then flashed N910VVRU2BPA1 firmware from here
It worked and now I am on 5.1.1
I wanted to go lower but, because of the Binary being fused at 2, I was unable.
Perhaps someone can find a way to get back to 4.4.4 with this so we can root with CF Auto Root.
For those that might be confused on how to use this..
1. Place your phone in Download mode
2. Open Odin on your PC, select the AP button, and then select the combination file that you just downloaded..
3. After install the phone will reboot and it will be in a Factory repair or test mode.. feel free to tinker and explore.
4. Power off your phone and go back to download mode.
5. Go back into Odin and flash your desired firmware which would be 5.1.1 and above.

Perhaps ?
I have seen several warnings not to take any updates past a certain date on Android 6.0.1, otherwise you cannot go back, as the newer firmware prevents any downgrading in lieu of "security patch".
The Combination file enables you to install any firmware or newer than its specific binary.
In running this you will notice a bare bones KitKat 4.4.4 AOSP UI.
The Binary is fused for loading only firmware that includes KNOX, as it was first introduced as of 5.1.1 for the SM-N910V
Which is my belief why it is such a secret to go back.

Perhaps ?
I have seen several warnings not to take any updates past a certain date on Android 6.0.1, otherwise you cannot go back, as the newer firmware prevents any downgrading in lieu of "security patch".
The Combination file enables you to install any firmware or newer than its specific binary.
In running this you will notice a bare bones KitKat 4.4.4 AOSP UI.

unnecessary ! you can flash back to lollipop(5.1.1 bpa1) with Odin without the need of this binary and Knox hit the scene on jellybean final bud (4.3)
@mojoswagger1980
Please show me 4.3 firmware for the SM-N910V
The Verizon Note 4 Jumped from 4.4.4 to 5.0.1 then to 5.1.1
Per Samsung the update from 5.0.1 to 5.1.1 installed Knox on the SM-N910V.
This Binary is very useful ..
But glad to know you don't like that I posted it.
Lol the sm 900v (note3) premiered on 4.3 essentially the same phone seriously. For the record you said Knox kept us from downgrading as of lolipop I then corrected that statement with mine . device model firmware doesn't apply given that Knox was universaly added to all android devices at that time
I downgraded successfully using BPA1 from the newest firmware just this last week. No issues or conflicts and rerooted/bootloader unlocked...easypeasy
please elaborate

Check to make sure you are not using a USB3 port. I always have issues with USB3.
Those of you that have downgraded back to 5.1.1. I have a question for you.
While on 6.0.1, did you have problems with your GPS with it losing signal? IF SO, did downgrading back to 5.1.1 solve this problem?
I've been having problems with my GPS for quite awhile now and I can't figure out if the problem is related to 6.0.1, loose screws or oxidation of the contacts inside of my phone.
Know what? I think all my laptop usb are usb3. I'll try my older laptop and let you know
i needed a pit file for the note 4 vzw i added that and erased the partition via odin and now im flashing 5.1.1 no errors this time
Anyone try this with build number: MMB29M.N910VVRS2CQB2 ????

I got it to work. Don't go doing anything just yet. I plan to make a new topic about it.

GPS Signal I believe is hardware related and I have that problem as well..
This appears to be the most feasible approach to fixing it and I will be attempting this shortly as it is not the same phone model but possibly the same cause for the issue.

Trying to downgrade as well and having the same issues.... cannot flash anything without it failing. The only firmware that worked was the combination one and nothing else. Please help! Thanks!

Ok here you got , i think this is exactly same firmware.
Download zip from attachment
unzip and start
In model :SM- G955U
In region : LRA, USC or ACG all regions are same as AT&T if you just flash 4 files with out HOME_CRC or USER_DATA
Check : auto, checkCRC32, Decrypt automatically
hit : Check for updates.
it took me around 7 min to download firmware.
EDIT: Has tag from what i download my way is exactly the same as yours
EDIT2: fixed error.

Looks like do to weekend they did not updated yet to QG1
First Time
I flashed my T-Mobile S8+ to AT&T successfully the other day. In order for me to install this newer version, I assume I just have to do it in Odin like before? I followed this guide (Flashing Standard Firmware) after doing the Carrier Switch last time: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8+/how-to/snap-guide-flashing-standard-fw-carrier-t3627255
Just making sure from now on I just basically have to do the updates in Odin...

I have a Verizon galaxy s8 plus that I am currently using on AT&T's prepaid service can I install this software/firmware on my phone without the risk of bricking it?
I don't need to have the phone unlocked correct? (if that is even possible right now)

LRA region are Bluegrass service by Verizon. I did not flash this firmware but people claim this is same as AT&T. Yes you can flash w/o any problem.

A newb here...
I am on AT&T with AT&T stock firmware G955USQU1AQC9 with March 1, 2017 security patch level after flashing T-mobile S8+ using one of the tutorials here. I am not getting OTA, device says I have the most recent firmware...
I have two concerns here:
1. If I download this and flash it using ODIN will I be able to get the July security patch via OTA?
2. Which files should I use in order to keep device as is, without loosing any data or settings?
I flashed this and did not receive the OTA update to AQG1. I am on ATT and did not change my carrier firmware. What gives? Thanks
If anybody can answer this.... what is the difference from G955USQU1AQGF and G955U1UEU1AQG2

There is no AQG2 firmware and we know that AQGF exists. This is huge difference.
On Edge of Galaxy
I am about to flash this file I already have everything extracted and ODIN opened.
but I see from the extracted file there is 6 files available but ODIN only has 5 slots.
Extracted are
AP, BL, CP, CSC_OYN, HOME_CSC_OYN, and user data.
but odin only has slots for
AP, BL, CP, CSC, UMS
can someone tell me what I use in each slot (besides the AP, BL, CP)
what CSC file do use for CSC slot is it CSC_OYN or Home_CSC_OYN?
EDIT: so I found that Home_CSC goes in CSC and this one is used when you don't want anything to be wiped.
CSC_OYN is used when you want to wipe.
Now just need to know what to put in UMS
