7040e dead? - Alcatel OneTouch Pop C7 Questions & Answers

Hi guys. Hope you could help me. I'm having trouble with my 7040e. It's all black. It doesn't even go to the logo. It doesn't even show the battery when charging. It only shows the little white light that shows the phone's charging, but nothing else.
It's not even recognized by the computer. What shall I do? And I'm not an expert on all these stuff.
I would so much appreciate your efforts.

My Jasjar is dead!

Dear Experts
my jasjar show no life. when I connect the charging cable no lights come up. when i take the battery off the light turns red. I cant get into the bootable screen nor any other screen. Any ideas???? Please help
Very little help I'm afraid
I have the same problem with my JasJar, dead, no bootscreen (I have a Qtek9000 as well, I know what that dim screen looks like).
Upon reboot and a USB-connection windows said there was an unknown USB-unit. However, it said nothing more than that, so I booted up linux and keept an eye on 'tail -f /var/log/messages' as I hooked the poor little thing up. There is a hint of a connection, but it is broken. It doesn't even state what type of unit it is, nothing.
What you (and I) need is something called a J-TAG.
That is a special connection to the BIOS that is able to reset it by connecting to it directly instead of through all the ports that it doesn't know until it has booted.
I am, however, curious as to wether there is some type of life on the IR-port. My laptop doesn't have any IR-port, so if someone with a similarly bricked HTC Uni-unit could try that? However I suppose that there is no life on that port. (I'm even surprised by the fact that there is life at the USB-port in spite of it not really having booted. Hmh)
Also, would be nice if someone could tell us a bit about the J-TAG-points on the Uni, as well as what we can do to hack this thing back to life.
Suggestions anyone?
Hi f315al !
First, how old is your battery?
After hard utilisation during months, battery gets weak on universal.....bad thing...
You should try with a new one before beeing sure it's dead
Tell us if it works
Dead Jasjar
Dear Cocaman
I bought a new battery and indeed it did start, you are a Geneus. the problem I have now with this stupid device is that every time I touch the screen or the keyboard it hangs and the screen start flickering. I soft reset and hard reset at least 50 times a day. I am really getting anoyed as I am spending more money to waste more time. I notice when the battery is fully charge I reset less than when the battery is <75% charged.
Any ideas?????

My TyTN just died - can anyone please help?

I got my TyTN a week ago (actually it is a Softbank X01HT)
The device just died today. I cannot turn it on (battery was fully charged), no lights are on, I tried removing the battery, SIM card, soft/hard reset nothing helps, it seems like it is dead and nothing is turning on even when connected to the power.
Can anyone please advise? is there anything I can do to revive it??
thanks
Does it show a constant RED LED light when you plug in the charger?
Mike
Can you describe the incident that lead to the "bricking" of your tytn?
The more we know the better we can make suggestion/give help.

No light is on when connected, it is just all blank. I didn't do anything actually. Finished a phone call, put the device back in my pocket when I took it out again it was dead and coldn't do anything. No ROM change or software installation or anything. I was wondering if there is any way to "revive" it.
Thank you for the help in advance !

Don't think I've heard of one being completely dead before. There are cases where the battery drains very rapidly to zero charge in a veryshort time and will then refuse to charge. BUT in those cases the device at least shows a RED no charge LED when you plug in the charger.
I don't think I can suggest anything other than warranty / repair. I assume you can rule out that the charger is faulty. This could be shown by plugging into PC using USB lead and confirming that again no RED LED shows.
One final thought but I think it is a long shot and that is to leave the battery out for 10 minutes and then retry.
It may be possible that an internal connector has come adrift but unless you wish to open it up then again we're back to warranty / repair.
Mike
Bad news for me. I was afraid I will have to do that...
Thanks for the reply though.
If anyone else has ny suggestion I'll be happy to hear it

Bricked wizard

Hello all!
So I have a qtek 9100 and tried to flash with "ruu_prodigy_226102_22610105_022511_tmous_wwe_ship.exe", the installer started, the wizard was showing me the white screen and progress bar, sudently I get an eror message from pc, and guided to repair the erors. Meanwhile my phone gone off, and now it does not want to open, i tried hard reset, but seems nothing is bringing it back to life. I measured the battery and my voltmeter shows 3.8V, so i guess the battery is ok. I tried removing the battery and putting it back on but it doesn't turn on.If plug it in the wall charger, it doesn't lite up the charging led.
I'm kind of swetting...what can I do now?
try to take the battery off and wait in 10 minutes before you place it in.. try to on it after that.. that might help.. have heard it has helped many here in this forum.. either your bricked it or not.. 10 minutes will or might show..
Thanks for the quick answer, i'm waiting now to see if it works.
Any other tips are welcome.
no...no result...it still doesn't go on
Is there no way to Jtag one of these phones?
Sorry...what "Jtag" means?
Is there any chance that when i tried to flash my ROM to burn my battery?

[Q] Ideos U8800+ dead.

HI ALL
I purchased this device about two weeks ago. The device was version 2.3.6.
The device worked very well. But for the first time it switches due to complete battery.
When I Connect it to charger a blue screen appeared.
Now there is no blue screen also.
Sometimes appears the logo IDEOS on the screen and sometimes red light flashes on top.
pleass try to help my.
ya.
Did you try to flash a stock ROM? Have a read on this thread nad follow some hints.. might work.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1138673&highlight=bluescreen
Thanks for the response.
bus as i sayed there is no blue screen any more.
when i connect it to the chargere ther is a flash red light on top. and after ~one minutes the logo "IDEOS" and thats all .
i didnt have any experience with "rom root atcc ...." so maybe im doing somthing wrong.
thanks again.
So the led just flashes red and then nothing happens. I had that happen to me once (SHAT MY PANTS), turns out the battery was flat dead.. attached it to the charger, left it for a while and voila..
But since you had a bluescreen (which I know doesnt occur anymore) it might be a different story... I'm sorry mate.
Unless you can get into PINK screen, I'm not sure what to tell you. What you can do, if you have a volt meter, test the battery!!
So I checked the battery voltage meter and the result shows #3.
What does it mean.
thanks.
Do you mean NUMBER 3? as in 3 volts?
yes, number 3 .
3 volts.
thanks
So that means that the battery still got some juice in it, but that doesnt mean it's not defective.
Try to remove the battery from the phone, plug the phone to the charger and try to switch it on. The phone should start up via USB power without battery (I tested it) if it does the same thing, then definitely it has nothing to do with battery.
Is the IDEOS logo still appearing? or did it stop?

P8 Lite Hard Brick -> Reanimation

Hi.
I just wanted to share some experience.
Situation: P8lite Battery fully charged. After flashing a very experimental ROM in TWRP, reboot, the phone got stuck on bootlogo.
After power down, it did not power up.
No LED, no backlight, nothing.
All dark.
Tried all the button combinations.
All dark.
Also connecting the charger did not light up a charging LED, although the battery should have been discharged a bit by the reboot and about 30 minutes waiting for progress in bootup.
No connection to ADB. USB not recognized.
A classical hardbrick. :crying:
Then I remembered: When an Android phone is powered off, it is never really off, until you take out the battery. There is always some f*ckry hanging around in RAM. Usually RAM will be cleared in the boot process.
So the despaired solution:
I took the phone apart, just enough to disconnect the battery. Google and youtube show the steps to perform, so I don't write about that.
Then, with the battery disconnected, I connected the phone to ADB via USB.
Edit: But strangely enough, the phone did not light up, no backlight, no LED, no screen content. Also it was not possible to turn on the phone.
And YEAH! The phone showed up in ADB and i was able to unbrick it with the usual unbricking method described in the mega thread.
After that I disconnectet USB, reconnected the battery, put everything back together and here it is, freshly risen from the dead: "The Zombie Pecholite"
A long story, but I hope it helps others.
happy hacking!
