[Q] Brick/Soft bricked Nexus 10

Hey guys,
I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction.
Problem:
No installed OS
I tried to get connection to via USB but i might be doing it wrong.
Using bootloader version: MANTALJ12, and it's unloocked with TWRP.
Is there someway i can put an OS onto the device?
I Tried:
Using the old Nexus 10 Root Tool Kit
and the Wug Nexus Root kit,
but they dont seems to be able to connect to transfer - or i might be doing it completely wrong.
Thanks,
toggich
should fix

First install the android SDK. (Just look it up I can't post links)
Get your factory image. (Just search nexus factory images)
Extract the image and place in the platform tools within the android SDK folder.
While in platform tools hold shift then right click and open command prompt.
Plug in your N10 while in fastboot and type (fastboot devices)
If a number comes up saying its connected you are good to go for the next step.
If its stuck in a bootloop before on the "X" symbol power it off then like your going to boot into boot loader hold power and keep pressing volume up and down in till it bring reset menu up reset it the boot back to boot loade
Then type these commands in order
1. fastboot erase boot
2. fastboot erase cache
3. fastboot erase recovery
4. fastboot erase system
5. fastboot erase user data
6. fastboot flash bootloader bootloader-manta-mantamd03.IMG
7. fastboot reboot-bootloader
8. fastboot -w update image-mantaray-jwr66V.zip

P9-lite bricked. Please help!!

SOLVED!
Hi all i just bricked my phone : P9-lite VNS-L31
I managed to unlock bootloader, install twrp and get root permission. Phone worked great. Then i tried to flash xposed and the operation fails due to not enough memory space (!! i have 6gb) and get stuck in bootloop. I made all the possible things i knowed. Tried to use xposed-unistaller.zip (getting other errors like: "no such file o direcory") , wipe cache, dalvik and data and i try also to reflash stock recovery, and to relock bootloader (i can't do that.. why? i get FAILED <remote: command not allowed>) because erecovery and HiSuite can't restore my phone. What can i do?? It's a simple bootloop but i cant restore it. Please help me i have just bought the phone and now i'm very desperate.
I really hope some can help,
Thank you
Can you flash the stock rom through SD card?
Copy the stock rom file to this path: sd card\dload\UPDATE.APP,
Then, presss Volume + , Volume -, and the power keys to force upgrade your phone.
Hi, i solved my problem flashing system.img extracted by an official firmware. Everything ok. If someone need it i can write a little guide now to restore bricked p9-lite with custom recovery and unlocked bootloader (the normal procedure does not work)

So, i think i can help you to fix your phone.
First of all you need fastboot. So check fastboot drivers on your pc and make sure they work
Now download the stock firmware for VNS-L31 here : http://www.androidvillaz.com/2016/0...vns-l31-to-marshmallow-6.0-b100-firmware.html - It's the only version ready to download and an asian version but flashing only system you'll not notice it. All languages available, no differences at all.
Download and install this tool : http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3262545
So using something like 7zip extract the UPDATE.APP file in your desktop for example.
Launch HuaweiUpdateExtractor and select the update.app.
You need to extract SYSTEM.IMG so right click on it and select extract selected.
Now, turn your p9lite in fastboot mode (power off, press vol - and power) and connect it to your pc.
Now launch this : "fastboot flash system "PATH/system.img" " . Remember to replace "PATH/system.img" with the path of your extracted system.img file including the name of the file.
Wait about 3 minutes.
When flash finalize, boot in recovery. Wipe cache and dalvik and reboot your smartphone. It should boot now.
If not, perform a full wipe. (cache, dalvik and data).
Hope this can help.

with pressing volume - and power i enter into erecovery from there i should use fastboot to flash system.img ? sorry for being dum
edit: when in erecovery (volume- and power) typing fastboot flash system with full path , does nothing .. only saying waiting for device
edit2: no matter what i do , i cant fastboot flash system .. waiting for device .. only thing i can do is enter TWRP (also got root) , enter Erecovery and thats it .. phone only boots to huawei animation along wiht sound and thats it .. i tried adb sideload from TWRP but no help also .. guess there is nothing i can do right ?
Edit3: so i booted via TWRP to bootloader , used that fastboot command , flashed system , wiped cache , and now it is looking that phone is booting up !
thanks bro , any way i can pay you back ? cus you da MVP here !
EDIT4: well phone booted , rebooted , and now i cant enter recovery it boots into erecovery and i cant do nothing else
EDIT5: got into fastboot menu in phone , it says update system again , Error Func NO : 10 (boot image) Error NO : 2 (load failed)
EDIT6: somehow made it into fastboot , somehow flashed recovery , managed to restore my phone from back up , but sadly enough i cant restore it via google , since when i try to log in it says waiting .. dam this phone . i had galaxy S .. got this huawei just for pokemon go (which is pretty ****ty without gyro) FML right
EDIT7: lost most of my hairs .. some of them were ripped out in some anger explosions .. chewed of some of my nails .. but somehow i made it ! now if i only could unroot and relock bootloader xD think im gonna take a break for now and when my nerves will calm down i may try it again . Rly wanna thank you from all of my heart for help , thanks !! your the best man , thanks again
Sorry, can you normally boot and use your phone now?
Edit: It seems you can boot. Now you have restored your twrp recovery. I don't know why you have problems with google log in, but hey now it boots!

Hi, if you don't know what is fastboot maybe you can approach it the easy way.
Download and install this for the correct drivers : http://consumer.huawei.com/minisite/HiSuite_en/index.html
Download and extract to a folder this : https://mega.nz/#!B4tATA5D!-TseQ9A-TPEQhzNQRXsT_cV2i4T7qYYLadceW0fM8k0
Put your phone in fastboot mode : Turn it off. Connect it to your pc . Long press vol - and power until it boots in fastboot mode (white screen with a green android and other stuff). If you want you can boot in fastboot from TWRP recovery : restart -> bootloader.
Copy your extracted SYSTEM.IMG in the root path of the tool (we can assume its name is system.img).
Now launch the tool and press 000 and enter.
If you have done all right now you can give this : fastboot flash system system.img
Wait about 3 minutes. Perform a cache and dalvik cache wipe. Boot your phone.

Hi,
I am using the standard P9, and getting the Boot Loop also.
I attempted your instructions, and appeared to work - I got the first EMUI initialization screen - and now its gone back to how it was.
Any suggestions?
I think it should work on every phone assuming you are using the right firmware. Do you use the right firmware for the huawei P9 ?? (needless to say it's not the version i posted)).
So if you flashed the right firmware (and i'm pretty sure of this) my advice is to perform a full wipe : Cache, dalvik and data.
If you are still facing the same error consider flashing other frimware parts like boot.img ecc.
I believe so - I am pretty clueless with this stuff.
By firmware, do you mean the stock version? Because I used P9-EVAL09-EVA-B136. Don't suppose you would know the right firmware I require?
I think it's the right version. I am a p9lite user so i don't know specifically the right version of the firmware but i think it's ok. Do you tried a full wipe?

So, do you have unlocked bootloader and custom recovery (TWRP) ?

I do yes
So, go in twrp recovery (turn off phone, long press vol up and power for at least 3 seconds). When you are in you will see 'WIPE' press it then do the swipe to Factory Reset. You will lost your installed apps and the relative settings but you will not lost your personal stuff such photo, music documents ecc. Let me know if you perform it and if it works =)
It appears that TWRP no longer appears. I get thr EMUI options to wipe data/factory reset. But once I do this I just get a red exclamation mark.
Does the phone need to be plugged in via USB?

Hardbrick/total brick help me to understand my situation

Hello guys, my zenfone has the image "ASUS in search of incredible" on the center and upward has the written ""Fastboot Mode!!! long press power key to restart system""" in light blue!! i readed other similiar threads but i'm unable to resolve, i tried to download the official rom on the asus site and i follow threads of other models of zenfone 2 hardbricked in the Fastboot mode!
like this! ----((Type fastboot devices and hit Enter. Your device should appear.
13. Type fastboot flash fastboot droidboot.img (be very careful in writting this line). Hit Enter. Wait till it's done.
14. Type fastboot flash recovery recovery.img and hit Enter. Wait till it's done.
15. Type fastboot flash boot boot.img and hitEnter.))
I don't find those files (and files like system.img) in the zenfone 2 laser rom zip(UL-ASUS_Z00E-WW-13.10.7.1-user.zip) but only Boot.img ,system.new.dat... nothing useful.
I dowloaded a official recovery and twrp, i tried to flash the recovery.img and the boot.img and i try to reboot in bootloader mode but nothing, than i tried to flash the trwp.img but the process failed!
I've a Raw file image of the rom but i don't know if it possible to install it in fastboot and what is the right Command on fastboot!
This is all, i hope that someone can help me
Download stock recovery from here and flash with fastboot flash recovery name_of_recovery.img and download official firmware from official site.
Go in to recovery and wipe cache and data, after select update from adb, open adb and write this command:adb sideload name_of_firmware.zip or put firmware.zip in to sd and rename update.zip go in to recovery wipe cache and data and select update from sdcard and select update.zip

nothing! My friend doesn't remember if he unlocked the bootloader, the phone doesn't go in recovery... So the problem is the unlocked bootloader or a locked bootloader?!

Since your phone is unlocked, I would try to flash a full Google image using the included flash-all.bat (instructions are on the same page as the image downloads). Not being able to access recovery mode may indicate a more serious problem.

Too early to tell. Google intended the image files to be a foolproof way to "reset" the phone to factory stock. This is the first thing you have to try. Set up ADB/Fastboot on your PC and use it to communicate with, and send commands to your phone.
I've gotten myself into the same situation a few times and flashing the full stock image with flash-all.bat command has always gotten me out of it so far. After I'm back on stock I just start from scratch again and flash recovery, custom rom and root.

I have the wt86047(HM2014813,HM2XTDPro) and I have dead emmc on my phone. The internal /data /system and /cache partitions are unmountable. So I decided that I try to boot from sdcard.
I have used this tutorial Dual boot to partition my sdcard and modify the recovery and the rom(Lineage 14.1) to look for the system, data and cache partitions on sdcard.
But when I try to boot up the phone is stuck at the MI logo and I see my device in fastboot. To be able to boot to my device I need in fastboot to execute fastboot boot modifiedboot.img. This is not too much convenient as I need pc to turn my phone on. I also can only boot recovery and not to get to the recovery mode. I can however flash the image to the /recovery partition. I suspect that my /boot partition is also corrupted. I tried to manualy flash boot also with no succes. Any ideas how to boot the phone without need to use fastboot?
I have the exact same issue with the same phone.
You have modified only the fstab file ?

In boot.img yes(fstab.qcom), in TWRP the etc/recovery.fstab and in the updater script any mention of /system and /data.
The phone boots with the fastboot boot, but it is quite slow as I have quite cheap sd card in it. I would buy a better one If I would be able to boot the phone without computer.
EDIT: Camera is also not working for some reason
Try folding the fastboot ROM.
Same thing happened to me. I tried and flashed the fastboot image. It worked. This happened to me a long time ago. Don't worry about bootloader if you can see the fastboot screen with the mi man on your phone .

This won't help. This is the hardware issue. The storage chip on the motherboard is dead. You can not write anything to it. It is possible to replace that chip but it is a quite difficult operation.
