Hardbrick/total brick help me to understand my situation - Zenfone 2 Laser Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys, my zenfone has the image "ASUS in search of incredible" on the center and upward has the written ""Fastboot Mode!!! long press power key to restart system""" in light blue!! i readed other similiar threads but i'm unable to resolve, i tried to download the official rom on the asus site and i follow threads of other models of zenfone 2 hardbricked in the Fastboot mode!
like this! ----((Type fastboot devices and hit Enter. Your device should appear.
13. Type fastboot flash fastboot droidboot.img (be very careful in writting this line). Hit Enter. Wait till it's done.
14. Type fastboot flash recovery recovery.img and hit Enter. Wait till it's done.
15. Type fastboot flash boot boot.img and hitEnter.))
I don't find those files (and files like system.img) in the zenfone 2 laser rom zip(UL-ASUS_Z00E-WW-13.10.7.1-user.zip) but only Boot.img ,system.new.dat... nothing useful.
I dowloaded a official recovery and twrp, i tried to flash the recovery.img and the boot.img and i try to reboot in bootloader mode but nothing, than i tried to flash the trwp.img but the process failed!
I've a Raw file image of the rom but i don't know if it possible to install it in fastboot and what is the right Command on fastboot!
This is all, i hope that someone can help me

Download stock recovery from here and flash with fastboot flash recovery name_of_recovery.img and download official firmware from official site.
Go in to recovery and wipe cache and data, after select update from adb, open adb and write this command:adb sideload name_of_firmware.zip or put firmware.zip in to sd and rename update.zip go in to recovery wipe cache and data and select update from sdcard and select update.zip

thank you for the response, after the flash of the original recovery, i tried to go in recovery with "volume - and power botton" but nothing only asus image, than i tried with fastboot command --->"fastboot boot recovery.img" and Failed( remote dtb not found)

nothing! My friend doesn't remember if he unlocked the bootloader, the phone doesn't go in recovery... So the problem is the unlocked bootloader or a locked bootloader?!
from your answer I understand that if it is unlocked i can go in recovery, so i assume that the bootloader it's locked and for this i can't go in recovery...

have you tried with this recovery which i provided in link ?
first try using this recovery.
earlier i also face this.
now go to this thread download software from this thread only. there are two thread for this tool but i prefer you to go to this one.
GUIDE
now unlock bootloader.
and go for step 4(which flash twrp recovery)
now flash the recovery which is provided by me using code.
and now go can go into recovery
****************************************************************************************************
i suggest you this guide this method do for me
Disable update CM recovery option in developer options... Then flash custom recovery.... it will work.
once flashing twrp recovery, you will need to use
Code:
fastboot -i 0x1ebf reboot
command.
remove battery after install recovery before restarting phone
then insert battery and start in custom recovery
install Custom Recovery
1) enable developer options
2)enable advance reboot and usb debugging
3)disable Update CM recovery option
4)reboot to bootloader and flash recovery
" fastboot -i 0x1ebf flash recovery recovery_twrpyulolli.img "
5) directly disconnect phone (phone displaying FASTBOOT MODE)
6) remove battery and start phone in recovery mode using volume UP+DOWN and power key
7) And YOUR are IN TWRP RECOVERY ......
THIS method work for me perfectly .....i m also having same problem of flashing custom recovery and again showing CM RECOVERY
:laugh::laugh:
Thank You...!
Which is best for yureka cwm or twrp recovery
I'm facing the same problem but this trick didn't work for me.

Help installing a ROM.zip from ASUS on ZE500KL

Hello all,
I really need help for my ZE500KL. In summary, it stucks on ASUS logo and bootloop. I can't get to welcome screen.
It is not rooted, i've never touched to the original system. I got this problem after an update from OTA. The update was not interrupted for information.
I can get to the recovery menu, can do a wipe data/factory reset, but it solves nothing. Same problem.
I've tried :
- apply update from adb but this stops at 46% and failed with an error like E:failed to verify the whole-file signature
- apply update from microSD but it stops and failed without error message
I don't know if there is another way to fix.
Thanks
Bro go to the asus site and download the whole rom nd flash it thru recovery.
M also had a same problem.
So let me know nd which variant u hav?
Thanks for the reply.
When i said "I have apply update", this means that i've downloaded zip file from Asus website, and loaded it via the recovery but the process stops at 46%.
Maybe it will work for a custom recovery like CWM or TWRP but as i know, there is not a working CWM or TWRP for ZE500KL at this time. Maybe.
For me, the stock recovery don't work for loading the zip file from ASUS. It says something like : Unable to verify the whole-file signature, Process failed

If your device stops at logo this means that it boots into fastboot mode. I`ve had a same problem. You can take this adb driver . After installing you need to put in C:\adb file boot.img from archive which you dowloaded from official asus.com, then run cmd.
Code:
cd c:\adb
and last command will be...
Code:
fastboot boot boot.img
try it.

I tried. It doesn't work.
I proceed like this :
1- I've booted the device in recovery mode, connect it to PC and uninstall the device and his driver in to the device manager. I do the same in fastboot mode
2- I've installed the 15 seconds adb ver 1.43. As it is recommanded, I force install of drivers to "Android ADB interface" for recovery mode and "Android Bootloader Interface" for fastboot mode. At this time, adb detects the device via "c:\adb> adb devices"
3-I've extracted the "boot.img" from UL-ASUS Z00E-WW-12 8 5 106-user.zip from Asus Website
4-No problem to proceed with "c:\adb> fastboot boot boot.img" BUT that's all.
--> The device boots, passes the ASUS logo with the powered by android at the bottom", arrives to the second ASUS logo (the one animated), then there are messages "Android upgrading, optimising 1 of 1 app", "Starting apps", then it reboots, and bootloops .... again and again. I have to take out the battery to turn it off.
Have you tried downloading the full ROM image from the ASUS support website again? (yes, download again and try flashing your device again). Usually when it says something about signature verification failed, it is due to the incomplete download of the ROM image (corrupted), or that it has been modified.
Do report back the results.

I's been thinking to this ...
I've downloaded 3 times the ROM from asus website. The download procees has been interrupted because of internet problem but i was able to resume after. I've even downloaded previous version. I am able to extract the zip file to my computer without error like cooupted file or CRC..
I need to know if other persons have the same problem exactly with this ZE500KL because, i have recently done the same thing with my ZE551ML and i had no problem.
Have you tried flashing the previous updates (software versions) instead? Could be a "bogus" update.

I was been delighted when i see this TWRP for ZE500KL http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone-2-laser/development/recovery-twrp-3-0-0-0-recovery-t3319704 and it works,
But my joy was so short.
It says that it was unable to install the ZIP file because the ZIP is for WW_PHONE, and my phone is an OMNI_ZE500KL !!! What is this ? Never heard about it before. What's weird with this AUS ZIP file !!!??

Never heard about this OMNI SKU before.
If someone else has the same exact phone with you with a different SKU (perhaps WW?), you could try asking him to backup the recovery.img on his phone for you to flash. After that, just flash recovery via fastboot and you should be good to go.

Stock recovery (and TWRP):
https://github.com/sabpprook/android_device_asus_ze500kl/releases
Guys I Found The Solution For This Problem :
1-Flash TWRP Recovery From The Link : https://github.com/sabpprook/android_device_asus_ze500kl/releases
2- Wipe Data and Cache And dalvik Cache and Very Important (Wipe System).
3-Flash Back The Stock recovery From The Same Link Above.
4-Flash Your .zip Stock Frimware From The Link : https://www.asus.com/support/Download/39/1/0/20/KsY29RCpsJ2bea9O/32/
5-Please if this Helped You Press Thanks! Button And Enjoy.
The Trick: Stock Recovery Cannot Wipe System But TWRP Can.
P.S: You Cannot Flash The Frimware From TWRP ... It Will Give An Error.
Enjoy

Dude? I don't understand what are you saying! You don't go in twrp to flash the stock recovery. Copy the stock recovery to your adb folder in your computer ( where you have adb.exe ) Just turn of your phone then hold the power and volume up at the same time util you enter in fastboot mode the in adb use this: " fastboot flash stock-recovery-LL.222.img " After that reboot in recovery again and you should get the stock recovery, after that move the stock ROM to sd card and in recovery select " update from sdcard " or do it with sideload using " adb sideload UL-ASUS_Z00E-WW-13.10.7.1-user.zip "

sorry for my English.
I had the same problem. Startup screen locked and nothing else ( ZE500KL ).
I believe the problem to be using the unlock procedure with latest firmware version 13.10.7.1 .
I solved it by reinstalling before UL-ASUS_Z00E-WW-13.10.7.1-user.zip and then this file boot_13.10.6.16_patch.
(I can not post links . search it with google . if someone can post it to write to me in pvt . I give link)
everything from sd card with TWRP
although it is not the same version it solved the problem . Now everything perfect . If you want to reboot after you reset by zenfone and bring back to factory conditions .

Try this Method
De-grade to Kitkat by downloading Kitkat firmware UL-ASUS_T00F-WW-2.22.40.540-user ( Kitkat).
Then Extract Fastboot.img, Boot.img and recovery.img
flash these files throufgh fastboot, for that downoad minimal adb tools and connect your phone through usb when in fastboot mode
flash these files by clicking right while holding shift on the ADB tools folder in Blank space and choose Open command window here .
then type these 4 commands :
fastboot flash fastboot fastboot.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader [wait for the fastboot mode to reopen in phone then]
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
after these 4 commands go to recovery through selecting recovery from fastboot.
In recovery, select Update from adb. Now copy firmware.zip in that ADB tools folder which is UL-ASUS_T00F-WW-2.22.40.540-user.zip and rename it to update.zip for ease.
now type in Cmd :
adb sideload update.zip
after this clear data/cache in phone and Your phone will boot.

still stuck at asus logo bro, and recovery still error mount cache

Wiped off everything,only TWRP left,what do?[Huawei P10 Lite]

I accidentally wiped off everything with TWRP.
I have no backups.
I'm really having trouble finding ANY rom for this phone, custom or stock.
I've only found firmware that can update my OS not install it completely.
Could anyone find the correct ROM for me?
Anything will do.
Please help!
If you have a second device, donwload Huawei firmware finder from Play store. Enter your model number and donwload a full package. Doesn't really matter which one. Then just flash it in TWRP without extracting.

Is there any way to know my exact phone model number without having access to the OS?
Using the pc version I have to enter some kind of G and F values, what should i put in there?
EDIT:I've narrowed it down to WAS-LX1 and WAS LX1A,any way of distinguishing between those?
EDIT 2 : I seem to fail to flash literally any ROM,I get a zip verification error if i try to check that,if not I just get:
Updater process edned with ERROR : 9,and E: unknown command [errno] before that

Shouldn't your phone model number be beneath the battery?

Well yeah,it should.
But this is one of those phones that can't really be opened with special tools that I don't really have, and even if i did have them I wouldn't mess with the phone's insides because it's one of those types of phone....
Update:It may have something to do with the roms i have downloaded,I've tried 3 of them and none of them had ANY .img files
No boot.img no recovery.img etc,what am I doing wrong?

Huawei uses some special archiving, there should be an UPDATE.APP inside the downloaded files. You need a tool called Huawei Update Extractor to get the .img files.

Oh I see,and should I just get the .imgs out of the update.app and then flash the rom?
Because so far I can't flash any of them,I get these errors:
E: unknown command [errno]
And
Updater process ended with ERROR : 9

If you want to flash the .img files, you have to enter your Bootloader. Do this by booting TWRP and type adb reboot bootloader. Then, out the .img files into the adb/ fastboot folder and type
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash cust cust.img
Instead of system.img you need to use the exact filename of the system.img file. I think you need to only use these three commands, but I'll have another look.
Edit: you could also replace your current recovery and then try to flash the update file with the stock recovery. Do this by typing fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

Yes! You can't flash most of it, it's not possible.
Flash Boot, Recovery, System and Vendor. Of that doesn't work, Put the UPDATE.APP into the dload folder on your SD and hold Power, Volume + and Volume -. That should force the flash of the update.
And if that still doesn't work, ask for a TWRP update on the P10 Forums. Then Restore everything except Data.

Got it,flashed system,recovery and boot
Trying to flash vendor I get an error when it's trying to write vendor:
FAILED (remote:Command not allowed)
Still stuck in a boot loop.
I'm gonna put the update.app in the sdcard.
I just create a dload folder in the sd card, put it in,wipe off everything I've flashed and do the 3 button thing, right?

UPDATE: Failed the 3 button thing, maybe I got the wrong ROM,i'll try it with another one,I have a question though
My friend has the same phone as me(p10 lite) and when he goes to about phone and checks out the model number he only sees WAS-LX1
I'm pretty sure i have that same model number now but I can't find a ROM that's specifically WAS-LX1,it's always WAS-LX1 And something added on there like WAS-LX1C02,should I even worry about that?
